Anyone able to get meeting reminders to work on their Gear S2? Mine work on the phone just fine, but not on the watch.
I figured it out.. I had to go into the Gear Manager application, then go into Notifications, then into Manage Notifications. The calendar application was not selected, once I selected it -- meeting reminders started showing up on my watch.
Do you need a phone to create a reminder manually(not via voice)? Thank you

The calendar app is syncing just fine, but I'm not receiving any notices of upcoming events. In the settings - alerts and notifications are set to alert and a ringtone selected. Default reminder time 1hr.
The sync is on, but one thing I noticed is that when I do a manual sync, the sync icon just stays there. Unlike gmail, contacts.. those are a mere flash to sync.
Lastly, via the direct settings on google, I see an area for mobile setup but that just sends sms notices. I'd like it to notify me from the sync/settings on the app.. but this is an easy work around if necessary.
Any suggestions? (Edited: It seems that via google calendar directly, I have notifications setup via 'email'. To fix, they had to be changed to pop-up or be set directly in the app.)
So I'm always presented with 'No Emails' on the email app on the Gear 2. I verified the settings on the Gear 2 manager, and my desired email is checked. Why am I not able to see any emails at all?
I'm running a rooted stock firmware of the GS4, if that helps at all.
I assume that you are using the stock email app? If so, note that Exchange is rather limited with notifications (such was my case) and someone suggested CloudMagic-- which is AWESOME--- and I am able to actually view my emails, whereas before, I was only able to see the sender and not much more on the Gear 2.
If you are running stock email and are not interested in CloudMagic, verify that the following is checked...
- Settings> Security> Notification Access> Make sure that "Gear Manager" is checked (which should be if you are getting notifications of any sort on the Gear 2).
- Gear Manager> Notifications> Notifications for Gear> Ensure that "Email" is checked.
I feel like there's one more selection (possibly) within the Email app itself, however I cannot remember straight away.

have you tried on new firmware? I've only had the G2 Neo for 2 days, but I had a firmware install on day 1 and email has always worked fine... no photo/multimedia, but I read my exchange mail as they come in.
I figured out the issue (sorry for the delay in posting)
It does work, however I was under the impression that it'd show you all the emails you have, not just new incoming emails.
Cloud Magic and Gear2

How did you get it to work. I have CloudMagic and it gives a runinng list of email titles only. No content and it is in a continuous string that does not delineate between messages. Any assist here would be great. This is only an issue for my exchange account. All other email works fine.
I use the Mailbox app for managing my gmail.. I've noticed that several times a day, an email will come in and I'll get multiple (usually only 2, but sometimes 3) alerts/notifications of that same email on the watch, all in succession. And when I go into the notifications folder, it shows the same email multiple times (as many alerts as I got)... when I check on the phone, sure enough, I only have one copy of the email in my inbox.
I just switched notifications off on Mailbox app, and turned on notifications on gmail app, and switched notifications in gear manager from mailbox to gmail also to see if it's somehow the app that's doing it, or if it's a bug in the gear manager software.
Was curious if anyone else is seeing this issue?
After 2-1/2 days of having absolutely no duplicate email notifications on the gear 2 watch (using the gmail app as notifier in gear manager), I switched back to the mailbox app a couple hours ago and it's already sent duplicate notifications to the watch several times.
Not sure how the app has anything to do with the notifications being sent, but it is apparently the app that's causing the problem.
hi, I have the non LTE Gear S3 Frontier. Message Notifications from Whatsapp and my phone text are not showing on my watch. same for email notifications... Phone calls are relayed to my watch but not whatsapp calls. Remote connections and the app notifications are checked in Samsung gear app... in Summary notifications are very unstable.... any ideas pls?
I get a problem with notifications too.
Sometimes they arrive , sometimes they arrive some minutes later, sometimes they never turn up whatever the source of the notification.
This is via a BT connection.
Tried resetting and altering the settings to no avail.
I was hoping to use just the vibration notifications on the watch and not sound on the phone as a lot less intrusive in meetings etc. but looks like it is not reliable enough for that.
yes, exactly same problem here! its a problem as not reliable at all... very dissapointed! I am using S7 edge fyi... hoping that there is a fix
Not sure if this will help for you, but one thing I noticed was a setting on the Gear app on the phone, under notifications, "Show while using phone"
Mine was off, which meant that if my phone screen was on, no notifications came through to the watch. I turned it on, and now they all come, all the time.
Is it possible to reply via a voice message on Whatsapp? Not the Svoice.. But a voice message..
The question had been asked many times, I know, but I have some specific details still missing:
1) Officially messaging and email are not fully compatible with non Samsung devices, but how much not fully? And what messaging and email do they mean?
1a) Messaging is the Samsung SMS equivalent? Or other messaging apps (WhatsApp/Viber/Facebook messenger)? If only SMS then I can care less about it.
1b) While email is what concerns me: I depend on Gmail and instant notifications, maybe I will do quick replies on the watch, does these work?
2) Technically all notifications should be passed without issues (those you select probably, I have a MiBand 2 and I can choose which notifications to send, love it, but very limited device). But does it in any way support the quick actions Android provides for notifications?
3) Also, do all the above features work when connected to WiFi? I frequently go beyond Bluetooth reach and need to continue getting notifications about everything.
4) Finally, before getting it, is there a way to browse the list of apps on the Samsung apps store for the S3 including available watch faces? Page is not working on PC.
Thanks
I have oneplus3 connected with Gear sport (equal to S3).
1) messages (mail/whatsapp/SMS etc do receive the watch), there is also the app notifications for my SmartWatch in case some notifications won't come through by default.
2) yes, for my emailapp aquamail it does. I suppose Gmail will too.
3) just tested it, yes. Watch connected to wifi and bt disabled. And my phone to 4g. Notifications are comming through.
4) before you buy the watch? I don't know.
I just know,
on iphone,
s3 can't reply message directly, like sms, email, sns.
From samsung's s3 site,
