Just get a good usb extension cable for mean while and call it a day..
Google makes a 1.8m Type-C to Type-C cable but that's the longest high quality one I've seen so far
I just checked Belkin, cable matters, micro center, best buy, amazon, black box, monoprice, and so on. I could not find 9m cables.

5.99 for converter of older cables. I like these instead of buying new cables at this time since I have a ton of micro usb stuff still. Any reason I shouldn't use these? I'm sure it won't charge as fast as stock charger/file xfer, but otherwise?

I ordered some cheapo ones from eBay but they will probably get here before the actual phone. They should def be slower but I think the charging should be comparable.
I was about to ask the same thing. Those look good enough. I don't want to replace all my cables especially since some of them do double duty (charge PS4 remote).

Would love to see some sort of sticky charging guide here. Not sure if I should be buying adapters, c to c, standard to c, new chargers, or what...
I'm thinking I'll keep my current 6 port charger and just getting some adapters so the micro usb can still charge, but really don't want to lose the quick charge feature, so maybe I should replace my charger, i probably should replace all my cables, they're getting kind of worn and I know sometimes the cheaper ones won't charge @ 2 amps.
New car charger?
Already going to have to replace our tylt wireless chargers we have by the bed, would love a usbc dock I guess...
ugh too much research to do again....I guess that's the silver lining of the phone not getting here for over a month
Will be interesting to see if anyone can get some solid numbers on how much these affect the charging rate.
I think ill use my standard cables with the adapter for a while. Til i get to know them better.
I'm really hoping I don't have to be stressed about fast charging otherwise it's going to go back to Google.
dx.com has a 5-pack for about $5, free shipping doesn't kick in until $15 spent, so you might as well browse.
I just bought a 4-pack of USB C cables in Amazon for $20 and called it a day. That + the one that comes with the phone should be a good start.

They are obviously only 2.0 cables but I figure unless you're spending big bucks right now on 3.0 A -> 3.1 C cables (or even 3.1 C -> 3.1 C with new chargers), pretty much ANYTHING we buy right now will be replaced later once we have more mainstream 3.x cables to buy at good prices from Anker or somebody. But this is the best price I could find for 4x cables that have good reviews. I've found a few that are a tad cheaper but with no reviews, so I decided this was the right answer for me.

If you look at the USB-C pinout, I really doubt these support fast charging. These only have 4 pins for the USB 2.0 interface, I believe the 5W @ 3A is only possible via the cable bus power and ground since that delivery is unique to USB Type-C.

Although it may not matter much given a phone is obsolete in a year or two, I suspect charging at 2/3 or less would greatly extend battery life.

. The world isn't ready for it. They need things to be base-10 for it to make sense.
I've ordered two of these, one of each size regardless of fast charge capabilities. I have so many regular USB-A chargers dotted all over the place that I might as well keep them useful. Plus the One Plus cables have a really good quality track record among their fans.
Also I tend to carry an extra cable with me with no charger for use in unexpected circumstances, and USB A ports are of course the most common available in a pinch. Simply practical to have extra C to A cables.
I might invest in an additional fast charger beyond what is supplied, once we have complete and precise clarification on how to maximize the 6P fast charging.
Awesome cables, I bought 5 because they're better than the offerings on Amazon while being easier to plug in, and perfectly compatible with my Macbook.

Why? It is unclear if the original poster desired a captive Type C, Type C to Type C, or Type A to Type C charger. All 3 would work.
The problem with this charger is that 18W is for Quick Charge which is 9V/2A or 12V/1.5A. This charger most likely won't ever output more than 2.4A at 5V. Not that that is hateful, just not 3A.

Do you specifically want a charger with a Type C port in it? Or would a 5V/3A Type A to Type C or Captive Type C charger be OK?
I think you are going to find that we are really early in the Type C adoption and there just aren't many small/handheld devices using Type C yet, so there aren't many accessories. The other is issue is 5V/3A is unlikely to be exceptionally prevalent even when Type C ramps up, but I could be wrong. I just think most vendors will use some form of voltage hopping quick charging technology, especially since QC 3.0 is built into the Qualcom SOCs where the Snapdragon 810 and below that use QC 2.0 require an additional chip. Not sure what the Lumia 950XL or Sony X5 (?) is using.

BZZZT. Try again, neither of those chargers are the right setup. The first one will only do 2.1A not 3A. The second does not have a Type C port it has a Type A and comes with a Type A>C cable which means you'll get about 1.5A maximum from it on a 5X or 6P.
To get 3 amp charging you need two things. A. The charger port MUST be a Type-C port. B. The charger must be rated for [email protected]
Google is best answer... for now.
None of the currently available chargers on the market can provide the 3W and intelligence needed to quick charge usb type c I've found so far. My solution, though not the cheapest, was to order the two port 22.5W google usb type c charger. It came quickly and it works great I can confirm. If you read the spec on type c charging it not only can do 3A @ 5V but also other amounts at different voltages I think... even 12V in some cases. I'm not sure if the 6P will use all of the options but USB type C is whole new animal when it comes to charging fast.

Agreed, that's the one I bought and received a few weeks ago.
Thanks for the feedback guys! I'm looking for Type-C to Type-C at 3amp/5v, which I believe is the fastest?
I have heard Anker will be releasing their Type-C range within the next week on Amazon, so hopefully soon we should have some more accessories soon!
At the moment I have resorted to using my RAVPower portable charger with Type-C connection for when I don't have my mains charger on me. Although this is quite a nuisance...
Yeah, I haven't seen any other 5V 3A Type C ones, but honestly I haven't looked much. I picked up the dual 22W one from google for work, figured it came with a cable long enough for my use at my desk I'd just go that route for now. Hopefully we do start getting more soon, as I need a folding one for travel. My current one is Type A, and I have a few A to C cables at the house so at least I have something I can charge with.

My experience with the N6p on the stock charger is that while it will briefly bounce up to 2.8, it doesn't ramp up smoothly. It pretty much does a roller coaster like you described almost the whole time probably averaging around 1 to 1.5 amps. I also tried with my anker 2.4 amp and it didn't seem to be that much less. Very disappointing actually.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3237848
I used a 5V/3A charger with captive microusb (for raspberrypi). With a micro to c adapter, it charged my 6P at ~2.7A (less than 40% battery). The charger and adapter were less than $15 total.
I've also used a multi-port charger with a quality A-C cable and get ~2.4A charging.
I've got the Cheeotech one somewhere. I was one of the few they picked last year to test it out with the N6. That Amazon page is just their QC2.0 charger with a USB C to A cable. I will try to find mine and see how it charges.

But it doesn't look like it's got a type C port. So you're better off looking for a different charger because you'd have to use an A to C cable and won't get the rapid charging.

There are nice Type-C chargers out there for a lot less which allow for rapid charging. I have 2 car chargers that will output 5V/3A which combine still cost less than one of those chargers.
I'll chime in and recommend the Blitzwolf USB C car charger. Does rapid charging just fine and its USB C hardwire. Great build quality too. Aluminum finishings and all

I would not trust a cradle like that to hold a phone as large as the Nexus 6P to hold it just by the USB-C port.
Iam also looking for something like this. Iam thinking buying one that has type c end and connect the OEM charger that might work
I purchased the NXET dock after the review I read from Benson Leung giving it 5 stars. My first post so I can't post a direct link yet, but search 'NXET® Type-C Dock' on Amazon. The only thing I dislike is the cable is wired to the charger and cannot be removed. I had thought having only the Type-C port holding it up would cause issues, but I haven't had any problems and it charges pretty darn fast.
There's also one from Kidigi. Its similar if not the same as NXET's Type-C, but keep in mind Kidigi's first release wont fast charge and don't meet usb-c specs.
I don't think there's a proper fast charging dock yet. I'm using this spigen cradle which has a slot behind to plug in your charger and works well.

You'd think they would be able to just use a USB-C port on the back as well so that the dock simply acts as a cable extender of sorts. That way you could use whatever fast charger you want.

Etsy have a few wooden ones which look quite cool. Definitely going to grab one of these.

yup! These.
Okay, so it's not a charging cradle, but it only cost $2.79, and my stock charger plugs in just fine. Even sprung for one for the wife's MXP.
