fechina, When making a call in GrooveIP is the Bluetooth option on bottom left enagled (green bar on button) and is the call screen blue? i use grooveip and love it. i had a problem with my bluetooth headset not working properly till i found i had the bluetooth option unchecked.

SMS USSD MOD question

Hi there
Having here the sms ussd mod and enoying 3G GSM sms sending/receiving on my xoom but question arise on how to make calls ?
I mean I can call and take incomming calls but there is a deep silence ...
Hi new-noob,
Xoom hardware doesn't support calls, I mean you can receive them, but you won't be able to speak or hear what the other says. It's all about hardware....

From your normal phone, you dial a short number with star and hash to check your credits, or to subscribe for a service or to a ringtone, well this is called ussd.

Yeah. That is VoIP calls, not circuit switched calls like real phones.

Well i dont think it is a hardware problem. iPhone 4 has the exact same radio like the motorola xoom 3g (The Qualcomm MDM6600)
Maybe the firmware motorola has flashed into the radio disabled voice call capabilities?
Samsung Galaxy tab does not support voice call but after installing a firmware mod (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=929479) it can now voice call over GSM
what do you think?
Hmmm. Interesting. Can't really give you a firm answer on the firmware mod, but what I tested was that Xoom couldn't get voice call on. Simply the call might get thru, but voice can't be established as device speaker / mic don't function / get triggered with that.

How can I receive a bluetooth audio stream on my GS3?

I've got an Avantree Saturn bluetooth transceiver hooked up to my home stereo. When it's in Receive mode I can send audio from my GS3 to the stereo.
However, you can also Transmit audio from the Saturn. I want to send the audio from my home stereo by bluetooth to my GS3, so that I can listen with headphones on my GS3. I don't want to use a bluetooth headset. I want my GS3 to receive the bluetooth signal. This will be helpful when I want to listen to the TV (which is hooked up to the home stereo) silently on my GS3.
I can't figure out how to receive a bluetooth audio stream into my GS3. Can anyone help?
Bump
Have you tried putting the device in discovery mode and then have the GS3 do a scan for Bluetooth devices. If the phone finds the device during the scan, it should allow connection and then present whatever options are available when connecting to that device.

Does the s3 have the option of receiving audio streaming? I think only particular Bluetooth devices have that such as stereos

That's the question that I don't know the answer to. I'm suspecting that it can't, since there doesn't seem to be anyone doing it and there's no app to allow it. These posts and others suggest that it's not possible: http://android.stackexchange.com/qu...udio-from-pc-to-android-device-over-bluetooth
I guess that the apps that allow you to stream from a PC use wifi, not bluetooth.
If I had to guess. I would say No. It would be a nice feature. But I don't think our cellphones are designed for receiving audio through Bluetooth!

Nexus 5 and galaxy gear

Hey guys. I've recently picked up one of these watches since I've read that it will somewhat work with the n5. The main issue that I have is the fact that when paired the watch shows up as a headset instead of a watch which my zwatch showed up as. Because it pairs this way I cannot use a Bluetooth headset cause all audio is filtered to the watch. Is it possible to edit Bluetooth profiles of devices or something? Thanks for any help.

It only works with Galaxy devices natively. It is possible there is a hack out there to make it work with the N5, but I haven't seen one.
Hi,

Did you download Gear Manager? Secondly, I believe it may pair as a Bluetooth headset because you can make and receive calls directly from the watch.

Yep audio gets directed to the watch. I've managed to root w/custom ROM on the gear. But the biggest thing I've got to get working is notifications on the watch and audio on the BT earpiece. No luck so far.

Yep I've had gear manager followed all tutorials and got notifications working, its just the fact that I can't use a BT earpiece. I wonder if there is a Bluetooth file somewhere that determines what kind of device is paired to the n5, and if so can it be edited so the galaxy gear is showing up as a watch instead of another earpiece.

I'll have to ask my dad but as far as I can remember whenever he used the Galaxy Gear with his phone he never used his Bluetooth headset and I'm wondering if its because the watch is now considered a Bluetooth headset.

I do believe that Verizon is using Advance Calling as a way to use WiFi for calls as long as your phone supports Advance calling. Of course it still has to be enabled and it still uses minutes if you don't have unlimited talk time.

It is when you're not on WiFi. If I remember correctly Verizon has the calls going over WiFi when connected even if you're in LTE coverage.

If that's correct, I should be able to make calls over WiFi if I have super spotty 3G coverage? I'm out in BFE Kansas and despite being on WiFi and having advanced calling enabled, I can barely get a call through. I was pretty sure Verizon doesn't use WiFi at all for calling.
Yeah I don't think volte uses wifi. I wish they'd add it so we could make calls when we're outside the us
