That's awesome! :good:
As XDA Assist is here to help navigate the site, not for support... I'll close this thread since you already found your way.
Good luck!

Well I finally rooted my sidekick and went to backup the stock rom via rom manager and it rebooted and never got past t mobile sidekick boot screen so I downloaded odin the pit file and the tar but when I put my phone into download mode i cant get it to recognize the sidekick when I plug it in it just says unknown device and i have the driver down loaded any help please
Windows can be picky about drivers sometimes.
I recommend uninstalling the driver, opening regedit, and manually deleting any remaining registry keys associated with the Samsung drivers. (This will take you some time.)
After that, reinstall the driver and try again.
I think you may need to google some of what I said here to get it done. But, you can do it if you take some initiative.
well i tried deleting kies and reinstalling it whitch i thought it was the driver if im wrong or theres a more direct driver can someone tell me when i plug my sidekick in i get usb device not recognized message

Ok. Give me some information.
I need to know what you installed as a driver. I need to know what Odin you are using. I also need to know where you got your information; what threads did you search for and read?
Is Windows complaining when you plug the device in or is the Odin program just not seeing your device?
When we do get your device back, also consider the risk/reward here. These customs aren't really offering the earth shattering things you might be hoping for. We're geeks and we are splitting hairs when we talk about improvements. The truth is, the final official KJ2 is a reliable and stable OS on its own. (If it wasn't, developers would be basing their work on older versions.) It's just something to think about...
Anyhow, get some more info out here and we'll help you Odin back to stock. After that, it's up to you.
well i got a drive from softpedia as well as kies and i searched various forums and topics im using windows xp sp3 and odin 3 as well as got the pit and tar files from lins on this site i
windows is the one that wines when i plug the phone in it says unknown device and no drivers for device found
You should have downloaded a Samsung USB driver for Mobile Phones. At one point, we were using Vibrant drivers to access the phone. Did you get real Samsung drivers for this phone?
You do NOT want to use Vibrant drivers.
Also, let's not rule out a hardware problem.
If you are rough with your phone's USB port, you can bend/break a pin in there. You could have a bad port.
If your phone isn't working like a USB pin drive on any (and every) computer you try, you may have a problem.
You should also check your cable and the physical port on your computer.
i got the kies from the samsung web site it was under the sidekick model nuber and showed a picture of my phone also i believe the softpedia driver was probably the vibrant driver
FYI, Kies only works if can get booted. We won't be using it until we can get a proper recovery of some kind.
What is happening? Is it just sitting there and vibrating over and over? Or does it appear to be rebooting?
Does it keep showing the t-mo logo flashing on and off the screen? Or is it just sitting there vibrating?
If you seeing the logo and the device is rebooting, you must use the Odin tool. If it is just hung up in the boot process, you can use Android Commander to get into clockworkmod.
I'm going to upload you some files. I'll private message you a link to download them.
We'll close out our public discussion here.
Hi everyone,
I have currently some big issue with my GT-N8010.
My custom rom wasn't running very well so I decided to reset my tablet and go back to a new fresh installation.
I downloaded the latest firmware of the tablet on sammobile and started to update it with Odin PC, but in the middle of the transfert I got an error and now my tablet is stuck on the "Firmware upgrade encoutered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.".
I have no idea how to fix it! And I can't go back to download mode anymore. On top of that, my tablet seems not to be recognize by my computer (I tried to install Kies and the samsung usb driver several times but it keeps saying that's the driver is not ok)...
Can someone help me please ?
Thank you in advance!
What custom rom did you had ? 4.4.2 or 4.1.2 ?

It was a 4.1.2 (HD Revolution) and I tried to flash with odin the N8010XXUCMK2_N8010XSACNA2_XSA
First uninstall kies and all usb drivers. Restart your computer.
If you can get in download mode (power+volume down then volume up when asked) :
Install some drivers from the sticky topics here on xda. Download the firmware again from another location if possible. Use a different usb port.
If you can't get in download mode, you have to try with kies. I never had success whit it, and i really need it. But it says that n8010 does not support initializing or something like that. Maybe someone else can help with kies.

I don't know where it comes from...
I tried everything, uninstall/reinstall Kies/Usb driver, put a VM with Win7 (As I am under Windows 8.1), put Win7 in dual boot to maybe fix the compatibility issue but nothing seems to work! And of course I don't have any other computer to use...
That's maybe the reason the tablet get broken as I used to use Odin on another PC and I didn't check if the usb driver was installed on this one??
I just know that Odin recognized my tablet so I was able to launch the installation of the new firmware.
I feel really bad...Hope the tablet is not definitly dead!
Faulty USB cable perhaps ?

Ok so I went to a Samsung store and they told me that I have to send my tablet to the repair center in the country where I bought the device.
It's a big issue for me as I am now living in Australia and my tablet has been bought in France.
On top of that the guy from Samsung explained me that now it's normal if my tablet is not any longer recognize by my computer...
I heard about JTAG, I don't have any idea about the subject but may it fix my problem?
Does someone know how samsung is able to fix the tablet, so I may fix it myself instead of sending to them...?
I went into Odin mode and flashed TWRP in the AP/PDA as all tutorials say (I am skeptical about that, I think this is what caused my phone to brick. BL obviously stands for bootloader, but I wasn't going to question the experts). Afterwards, I went to restart my phone and now I only boot to a broken Odin mode which says "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again." I cannot turn it off without taking the battery out, it reboots immediately. I tried plugging my phone in and running Kies, but I left it to detect devices for 10 minutes and it was still attempting to connect to my SGS2. I have absolutely no idea what to do, I've never gotten this message in Odin before. It was tricky to even get Kies as Samsung took down their link and replaced it with SmartSwitch. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
idk which tutorial youve read but you should of read mine, it uses odin3v1.87 and only pda is ever used and/or needed for the skyrocket.
u could be sol but trying my tut shouldnt hurt.
if theres life theres a chance for it to be revived.
you could try flashing twrp or better yet a full stock firmware so all partitions get reformatted/repartitioned correctly, fingers crossed.

Thanks; the only problem is that I can't even flash anything at the moment. My phone needs Kies and the drivers first, the Odin/download and recovery modes cannot be accessed otherwise. Kies has never had my phone drivers beforehand as I never had Kies before my phone had problems I should have looked harder for more detailed tutorials like yours first (one of many oversights that I neglected as a newbie). I also forgot to mention I visited the cm wiki to try to flash a newer custom OS and the tutorial asked for Windows users to use Heimdall suite, which failed to work properly in Windows 10 (at least for me). I used it to install a driver which may have replaced my Kies driver but now that I had uninstalled Kies completely and reinstalled it just after my phone broke, I no longer have a way of getting those drivers back since Kies apparently uses the history of my connected phones to install the drivers. I may be completely wrong (I feel I am) so please correct me.
thers a stand alone usb drivers link in the 1stop thread under the utilities section

Well it's not the drivers. Kies simply won't connect for whatever reason. I've tried Kies emergency recovery but it needs my phone to have been plugged in to another computer somewhere in order to get a recovery code or I need Kies to simply detect my phone. I've installed the new drivers multiple times but it doesn't change any results.
fyi you dont need kies for any of my tutorials.
uninstall kies, restart pc and reinstall standalone usb drivers and restart pc.
then follow my guides to the "t"

I have a massive problem, after days of research i have found NOTHING..
Ok so i had a rooted samsung galaxy s6, i was getting a bit tired of having it rooted (didnt really serve any purpose) so i decided to unroot via the superSU app then i restarted my phone and it hasn't been able to turn back on ever since.. it'll show the logo over and over again when i try to turn it on. I tried wiping the cache partition, wiping the data, rebooting it every single way possible, no luck..
So i decided i had to flash the Rom using the latest version of Odin but the problem with that is that now my phone isn't getting recognized by my computer i have tried installing the proper drivers, changing usb cables, ports, computers.. I even tried installing samsung smart switch and kies but nothing works.
If anyone knows how to solve this problem please help.

Have you tried to get into download mode and run the emergency recovery feature via smartswitch?
I had the same issue with an old S6. The emergency recovery feature asks you the model and serial number of your device and immediately recovers it when you have a bad software restore.

If you can get to recovery mode, you should be able to get to download mode. Serial #s are easy to find with a simple google search. It will depend on what version of S6 you might have.
Edit: It seemed as it solved itself, look in the replies for details
So i have had my gs7 rooted for a year or longer. Yesterday i rebooted my phone and got the error message "Custom binary blocked by FRP lock". Sadly, when i enter download mode and plug it into a pc with odin installed, it is not recognised. Odin does not say anything about a phone plugged in, and windows says the usb is not recognized.
What i think have caused this:
I downloaded an app that allowed me to record internal audio
I turned off developer options, and my stupid ass did not realize that is where oem unlock is located.
What i have tried:
Resetting to factory settings (from recovery mode)
Deleting cache (from recovery mode)
Using odin, but odin does not even recognize my phone
Tried using another computer with odin
tbh, looking at the other posts, i think i messed up. I dont want to send it in for repairing because i will have to pay a lot of money. I have tried sending it in for repairing a while ago. Then my problem was that i could not call with it, but they wanted me to pay the price for a new phone to repair my old phone, since i had rooted it. I did not accept it so i got my phone back, and managed to fix the issue myself. I hope i manage to fix the issue this time aswell.
There are lots of guides online on how to resolve this issue, please Google and read. Please make sure you have Samsung USB drivers installed on your pc

I have samsung usb drivers installed, and download mode has always been working and has always been recognized by odin ever since this happened. And online all i find is that i should boot into download mode and try using odin, but odin does not recognize my phone, nor does my computer.

Please pay attention to guides when messing about with your phone, OEM and Debugg are critical to being able to modify.

SOLVED!
The issue fixed itself, im not sure what i did. I was suddenly able to connect my phone to odin. Just incase someone reads this with the same problem. This is what i did: installed smart switch and rebooted my computer. Uninstalled and reinstalled samsung usb drivers.
Before i did those things the issue was still there, i was ready to use smart switch, but i tried odin one last time and it worked. Now samsung pass tells me my phone is rooted, even though it is not (my root dissapeared after resetting my phone), its not that big of an issue, just thought id let you know
