Hey guys,
I bought my xda exec a couple of weeks ago, and I'm extremely pleased with it. I've upgraded to Windows Mobile 6 (using Ranju's ROM) and I can only say thank you so much to the great community here. I usually can't wait to have the latest released product, so it's weird to be using something that's going to turn 3 this year, but I really think that the universal is the best piece of kit for the job that I've seen.
I have just one more selfish request. I tend to use SMS a lot more than I make calls, however there are just a couple of features I feel are missing from the in-built program, and I was wondering if there is any patch/fix or replacement that does them. Firstly having the phone make a noise every few minutes if I've got an unread text, it seems like it should be there because there's a "repeat" section in the notifications, but it's greyed out. The other thing is being able to have a link on the today screen or assigned to a button that jumps straight into writing a new text message.
Many thanks, and sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, I did have a look but couldn't find anything.
Andrew
Greetings everyone!
First I apologize if this post is in the wrong forum (so many to choose from!).
I am looking to get a new table to use for light web surfing and word processing for college. The Nexus 10 has GREAT reviews and I am leaning toward it (my other option is the Surface RT). However, I had one question that I was hoping someone could assist me with:
I have a Note 2 and have quite a few apps on it. Does the Nexus 10 work on the same type of platform so that I can log into my Google Play account and download the same apps I have on my Note 2 onto the Nexus 10?
I really appreciate any help you can provide.
Thank you for your time! :good:

Ofcourse same apps will work in both the phones. Both are Android.
Hey everyone. I just got this note pro today from Amazon. I've read about a lot of functionality you can get from rooting your device. The thing is I have no clue how to root a device. I've looked around the internet and to be quite honest I'm still not quite sure how to properly root the device. I was hoping someone could maybe point out or give me step by step instructions on how to root a device. Including making backups and the programs needed. I'm totally a noob in this and quite terrified of destroying a 685.00 dollar device. Thanks in advance to anyone willing to take the time out. The reason I'm rooting is because I want to get better battery life and be able to run any app in multiview mode. (Student who wants to go multiview with amazon ebooks and a note taking app)

I'm not sure which Internet your using.... you must not be looking very hard because your answer is in this very forum. In fact , there is a great big thread about it a few lines down. If after reading said thread you still have a question, I suggest asking IN that thread.
Every one here loves to help out, but you gotta put in at least a TINY bit of effort dude.

Go get it!!
I have to make a statement here. When Fleksy released there late and unfinished first version, I was there to make a harsh review. The new version now available is just everything I dreamt of, it looks nice, it's fast, handy, it really is the first very professional keyboard on gear 2.
Congratulations Fleksy, amazing job here... :highfive:
I concur, the only thing missing now is an option for voice reply on the keyboard.

Thanks for the comments guys, we really appreciate them!
How could we make Fleksy even better on the Gear?
Let us know what you would like to see!
Thanks,

If you could get it to integrate with hangouts, that'd be the icing on the cake for me.
Definitely Need Hangouts integration. Love the idea, but I don't use SMS.

thank you

I do truly love this app and I thank you guys, but WHY does it run so slow? It takes a few seconds to open and you need to go back and then return to it to get an updated feed of messages. The latest round of updates to it are indeed awesome, but too slow at the moment, sorry.:crying:
ive downloaded the app, and will sign and upload it tomorrow morning
Where did Fleksy go? I can't find it in the Gear store.

For some crazy reason, Samsung allows the developers to include which devices their apps will work on. Since the Note4 wasn't out yet, this becomes a problem. Also Samsungs store is so slow to get the updates and apps published it's extremely punishing to the users and developers.
The easiest way is via root where you'll need to edit the build.prop to look like a note 3 or S5. Otherwise maybe the dev's and Samsung can fix the Samsung app store. Sorry that this isn't an easy fix.

Hey all!
I realize that requests like this have been made I imagine but I just want to know if I should have any hope in being able to put a custom ROM on my Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note Edge the N915V non development edition.
I am curious if it is being worked on or if everyone has given up?
I just miss having the choice to decide what ROM to use while I love this particular phone hardware wise and features.
If anyone is working hard on this let me know I would be happy to donate to the cause so we can get the ability to root and unlock the bootloader on these dang phones!
Thanks all! I appreciate your allowing me to post this "plea". I have used custom ROMs forever now and wow do I miss the power!

The answer is yes, they are working on it, it's just taking more time to access root due to the locked bootloader. The Verizon note 4 is virtually the same as the note edge as far as firmware goes, if you would like to donate, check out the Note 4 forums for Verizon.
short answer is yes...
The long answer involves a young priest and an old priest... (joke from movie no hard feelings) but seriously don't hold your breath. It is being worked on but it isn't a simple task.
As for unlocking the bootloaders don't count on it. You will most likely see something similar to safestrap on theae devices once root is actually obtained.
I'm glad to hear there are some people still holding out I have a lot of love for this device. I hope that support starts flowing in despite the lack of advertising on samsungs part for this device. Looking forward to the note edge 2! (Dev edition of corse lol)
