NOTE EDGE GLASS 9H and CURVED THIS TIME!!! - Note Edge Accessories

I have been waiting with you guys ALL year and ILOOME was the only company that tried and tried to get us a screen protector. After 13 prototypes they failed and gave up I see. Now almost a year later and with SG EDGE and S6 EDGE+ as well as NOTE 5 it seemed like all hope was lost. But I just found out a Chinese Company just released a 9H GLASS screen protector!! You can get then on EBAY today! The catch is there about $25 and they ship from China which means you have to wait up to get it. I buy from China a lot and I get stuff usually in less than 2 weeks. But thats me and Im special. ...If you do a search on ebay for Note Edge Glass Screen Protectors you will find them about 10 items down. Some sellers are selling them with S6 Edge. The glass has white or black paint on the tips to blend in. And you will see some are gold for the Note 5 and S6 Edge...Good Luck and Happy Shopping!!! I ordered mine today so I cant say how good they are or tell you the quality for that matter. But for that price coming from China it should be NICE!

I ordered one, and when I got it, the glass wasn't curved. Even though the picture showed it was. Seller refunded my money. Please report back when you get it and it's confirmed that the edge is protected

I ordered the same from 3 different sellers
Waiting patiently to get them
Once i get them i will report back

Thank´s a lot

The first has been removed, the second one I ordered off eBay except mine is black. Coming from China, so it will take a while to get to me. But according one of my Facebook members, it didn't fit right on one of his customers Edge.

Both sides? You mean in and out? Because a curve on the left side would mean S6 and not the Edge.

I got the Note 4 and the Edge one is still one the way... the quality on this phone is really nice it has a white edges rounded to match my wife's white note 4 I ordered black because my Edge is black still waiting.... fingers crossed

No, look close at your left side. The screen has slight curve at the edge. Note edge full coverage glass screen protection is finally here lol

F'ing awesome!! Thanks for the pics. Which one did you end up getting?? Going to order asap!!

Here is a proper ad for them. Do yourself a favor and get it from someone that has it listed like this. I recived silver not clear and they being a total pain to deal with and if course they in china lol

I actually found it on amazon and its coming in next day shipping. This way I don't have to deal with some BS from China or Hong Kong. It may be a little more expensive but with amazon backing it, I feel it's worth it.
It looks to be the same design with the same colors that excessive81 got. I'll let everyone know when I get it in. Here is the link:

Been waiting for these im tired of having this ugly protector on my screen

Well I just got my gold tempered glad protector in from the link that I provided above and so far I am loving it. The installation was a breeze just make sure you clean the screen well! The curves are perfect, texting works like a charm and swiping the edge works without any issues. It does feel very odd like the screen protector is almost floating which I kinda think it is. I'll post picture to follow but you can see there are small dots where the protector comes in touch with the digitizer and cutouts where the back button and multi task button are as well. You have to look really close or at a certain angle to see this and unless you were looking for it you wouldn't notice. The gold colored borders act as the adhesive and as I was pulling off the back seal I could feel that the border was the sticky part not the see through screen area. The only issue I am seeing with it is the colored border is a slight hair off so the led behind the two bottom buttons don't shine through correctly unless you are at a slight angle and the top sensors, the word Samsung, and the front camera are also slightly off. This does pose a slight problem when you are using the front camera as there is a slight dark area on the top left and the bottom left corner. I don't use the front facing camera so it's not an issue for me but those of you that take selfies I know would have an issue with this. Overall I typed this entire review with it and had no problems texting at all and I give it 4.5 stars out of 5.
Edit.... Just realized that due to extra thickness of the protector my Oem flip cover doesn't close all the way. Enough that it turns off the screen and doesn't wake up but it stays slightly open. Hopefully it will correct over usage.
Oh and the S Pen works beautiful!! It glides on the glass amazing and writing with it is like there is no protector on the screen on all.

Pictures! Open the bottom one and zoom in to see the dots.

I guess after the picture is taken the dark ring is upper right and bottom right. I attached a picture to show.

Good screen protectors?

Can anyone recommend a good brand of screen protector? I went with case mate, as I had one on my desire HD and was very pleased with it - it fitted great and even after a year it still had plenty of life in it.
However the one that turned up for my sensation is rubbish, it only covers the LCD area - no protection over the capacitive buttons, and I keep catching the top when swiping the notification bar, so it's lifting up already.
Ideally I'm after one that will cover the whole screen, and isn't cheap and nasty.

I have the OEM HTC ones I got from Expansys. You get two of them. I don't remember how much they cost though. I think you can get them through htcpedia.com as well.

They fit pretty exact too FYI. Any mm off and you gotta redo the stinkin thing lol. It took me a good 20 mins to place it on the way I want it. I mean if you are off, you will get some bubbles in the corners, but they fit the entire screen. There's a write up in this section back when the Senny first came out and everyone was clamoring in which screen protector to get. Some like others, I am happy with the OEM ones. I still have it on to this day. I have one hairline scratch from keys that can be seen in certain angles, but other than that, the protector is great IMO.
GL.
Cool, just bought a set from eBay. Can't be any worse than this one I'm usin now lol.
i personally like the the invisibleSHIELD by ZAGG theyre pretty good in quality and last a long time now with any screen rotector as you know with time it will get really scratched with use but you should try these maybe youll like them they usually range anywhere from.. 0.99 to 3.99 fir a pack just look around ebay amazon... etc etc

I like Zagg, but I tried it back for my ol Nexus One and the outer skin/protector was nice, but to me the screen protector was too hazy for me and also a little tacky for my taste. Did they change the material for the protector?
well to tell you the truth i think theyre material might have improved a tad bit in quality but its like everything it does wear out eventually with time but i can understand the hazy part it does tend to be a little bit a problem for me
Best thing is still using no protector. Tried several and always get the feeling my touch is less responsive.
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio Z715e using xda premium
i bought the iprotect crytalclear,
the distance from the corner to the screen protector is quite big (picture added) sometimes your finger gets stock, if you try to pull down the notification bar or using swipepad
i probally would buy another one
Well the HTC screen protectors (2 pack) arrived today, and again I'm slightly disappointed. On the plus side they are lovely and clear, and cover the whole of the screen. It's also very thin, so doesn't feel like its hampering the touch input at all (although my previous case mate screen protectors were thicker I never felt they effected the input either).
The biggest downside was that because they are so thin, they're near impossible to fit. After carefully peeling off the backing, you just cant hold the thing. It Took me forever to apply the first one, and subsequently it had one bit of dust trapped under it in the middle of the screen. Not much, but I'm a perfectionist! So one down, one to go... I peeled it off and tried again, this time I was rewarded with two specs of dust... But they were over the capacitive buttons so I'm willing to live with that.
The other problem I had was that the screen protectors were glued onto the packaging and if I'd just pulled them off they would have creased and been ruined. In the end I cut them off gently by sliding a sharp knife underneath them.
So, in conclusion I have a semi decent fitting screen protector on but I won't be buying these again when it reaches the end of its life.
I would highly recommend the Skinomi Techskin. I use them on all of my devices. Same concept as Zagg but they are a little thinner and the screen still retains the 'glass' feel. For me the Zagg is a bit too much and my finger drags on the screen at times with it.
The fit on the Sensation is perfect and installation isn't too difficult.

Have you tried the tape trick for the dust? It's always best to put screen protectors on somewhere dust free like the bathroom. Always wash your hands before as well.
And I myself took a good 20 mins putting on mine because of the exact fit of them. I had to take off and reapply like 7 times. But I got the hang of it as of now. And if you are greeted with specks of dust, get a piece of scotch tape. Lift one end of the screen protector with another piece of scotch tape that is closest to your speck(s) and then use the scotch tape in your other hand to stick the particles from the screen protector or screen itself. It takes some finesse but it can be done, I have confidence in you! :victory: lol
Here's a more recent pic of the HTC screen protector. I do have minor bubbling on the corners because I just redid the Screen protector to align correctly because the case I have on which I just got kept lifting it. Reason being, the screen protector was off to the right a bit lol. I can live with the minor bubbling on the corners and you can't see the bubbles when looking straight at it either. Thanks, I created it with the inspiration from cvdesignlab from mycolorscreen. The lockscreen is widgetlocker which consists of three UCCW widgets, which I created the call/email/text(each has hotspots to the corresponding app) and battery charging widget, the weather widget in the middle reporting on my local weather, which has a hotspot, when pressed, goes to my weather app of choice.
And a "hotspot" is a term by the app creator, meaning when created, the corresponding hotspot will auto open any app you direct using the UCCW app.
And the time is a simple edit to an existing clock found in the UCCW thread made by the author of the app. Oh and the calendar right below the weather is my minimalistic text widget I created because I almost missed a dental appt a few weeks ago lol
There are a bit of parts to it but it has all the info I need at first glance without needing to get "into" the phone.
i use Ishieldz, and its the best screen protector i've had!

If you have trouble getting the edges to settle. Apply the screen protector as best you can. Then grab a hair drier, set it to hot and from about 12 inches warm up the phone. Keep moving the hair dryer as you can burn yourself. Keep doing that while working the edges down with your other hand. I have big hands so I can hold the phone in my hand and use my thumb. Eventually they will stick.
I too have BS ebay screen protectors and the reason it covers only the LCD area and not the entire face is because of the curvature at the edges.
I haven`t been using anything for almost a year and my screen is perfect...

Fully screen crack s7 edge silver!

I feel so so sad on this gorilla glass 4 on this galaxy s7 edge silver color. This is my girlfriend's phone she also got case on it but just a a clear view case because another case cannot find in local store in my country so and i also bought still on the way!
So lame just side drop from her hand and got this freaky screen break and that gorilla glass almost want to jump out of the screen
Mine is the black onyx one i use my baby very carefully but i never use phone with case i just wanna keep the feel curve and beauty of my phone!
So be aware to all another users! This really happen and also the home button is really easy to scratch too(i know it also a cheap plastic?)

What's the best screen protector?

Today I received my Nokia 8. Totally love the design
But..... i'm afraid to scratch the screen will carry it around in my pocket....
What is the best screen protector I can buy.... any suggestions?
I went ahead and ordered a pack of 3x tempered glass by Mr Shield from amazon. Will take about 2 weeks till it gets to my country. Had Mr Shield on a previous phone I owned and was satisfied.
Had transparentvpolyurethane full body protection installed
Zagg Invisible HD Dry, but I've only found in Swedish websites and they don't send worldwide
Sent from my Nokia 8!
Have had Techgear GhostShield on my HTC 10 - which also had curved edges on the screen like the Nokia 8(which means that a normal SP wont be able to cover edge to edge).
The GhostShield are made from some slightly stretchy material - a bit tricky to fit - but does give edge to edge protection.
They have a slightly grippy feel to them - so you get some resistance when moving your finger - but I got used to it after a bit and quite like it.
I have ordered a 3 pack - in case I waste one getting a perfect fit (as I did with my HTC10)
In the meantime, I currently have the normal TechGear Screen Protector fitted - was a doddle to fit without bubbles - but leaves around 3mm margin unprotected on all sides of the screen
Tried the Omoton from Amazon.co.uk, absolute rubbish. Has black bars top and bottom which is where the adhesive is - doesn't actually stick to the screen which looks awful and destroyed the touch sensitivity. Shame because I used the same brand on my Nexus 5X and it was perfect.
Now using the PULEN branded one, works much better (sticks to the screen as it should) although it doesn't stick very well at the edges resulting in a 'halo' effect. Have tried both pieces and the same - is it possible the Nokia screen isn't completely flat?

Has it arrived by any chance? I just got my 8 and a "regular" tempered glass and the edges aren't sticking (looks really bad) so I'm looking for something that actually fits!
Received gadgetshieldz and put it on my Nokia 8.
The touch is very good but i made some mistakes and got three particles under it...
Will try imak hydrogel when it arrives.

Don't wish to patronise, but did you wipe down the edges of the screen with the wipes and dry thoroughly before applying?
I ask because I fitted two GhostShield successfully to my HTC 10 which has similar curved edges and they stayed on fine for at least 6 months.
The first one I tried I messed up the alignment and things got messy near the cut outs - so I removed it. But the 2nd one stayed on fine for around 6-7 months - and was not showing any signs of coming loose. I only replaced it after 6 months because it was getting a bit worn looking near the centre.
The 3rd was also not showing any signs of coming loose - when I removed prior to selling the phone - again at least 6months after being fitted.
I plan to fit one to my Nokia 8 this weekend - so will report back - in case they changed the design or material and it fails to stay stuck down...

Yes, of course I've done all of the precautions.
Previously I've been using XtremeGuard wet apply one.
It sticks very well to the screen.
GhostShield came of to easy.
Maybe we are talking about two different things.

Yep - definitely the same ones I have ordered for my Nokia 8. And I know these were the same fitted to my HTC 10 - cos I found them by searching Order history.
I will fit mine this weekend and see how it goes.
I just mentioned the obvious stuff - cos I know fitting SPs is not always as straightforwards as some people think :cyclops:
I should know - I used to sell Brando Workshop SP in the UK many many years ago....
OK, I just tried fitting the GhostShield to my Nokia 8.
First thing, this is not the same design / fitting method and probably different / thinner material than what I fitted to my HTC 10 - which was definitely this GhostShield item - as I checked my Amazon order history.
The Nokia one has 3 tabs that you use in the fitting, the top protective sheet is yellow - the HTC one had 2 tabs and semi transparent top sheet. The alignment technique is also different.
The Nokia version is also thinner - I can see minor creases when I look at it at an angle, but it fits better around the cutouts.
I had to waste one - as when I tried to removed the step 3 protective sheet, it took the actual SP off with it!!
On the second one I had to be extra careful and used my fingernail to separate the SP from the protective sheet. This mean some bubbles were left behind in one corner which I had to smooth out again - and this has left some scuffs on the SP - cant see them unless I hold the phone at an angle.
It has gone down well around the edges - just need to wait a few days and see if they stay down - or if I get the same problem as @TeddyBeers...Will report back after a few days or sooner if it starts coming away.
For now I will hold back from recommending this newer design of GhostShield....
Tried the ghostshield screen protector.
Complete garbage, grainy screen, protector came cracked and the yellow film stuck to the SP when trying to remove at step 3.
Getting a refund for this.
Can anyone recommend me a good screen protector? seems to be none that are good for the nokia..
Every time I check Amazon there are more and more generic, Chinese, no-name tempered glass protectors...
Avoid any that say 'full screen protection' and/or have black/coloured edges as these don't stick to the screen, only around the edge, and make the phone near unusable. IMO of course.
If anyone finds a version of the sort that don't cover the curved edges, but Do stick to the screen, and - and this is important - actually stick right to the edge of the protector, do please spread the word!

Had the same issue - wasted one because the yellow stuff remained stuck to the SP and lifted it off the screen.
Tried second time and this time it separated ok. Been 24hrs and so far so good - the SP has remained stuck down - around the edges too.#
Another minor negative, it has left a thin line between where part 1 and part 2 of the first stage removal items are joined....
Have uploaded a couple of pics..

Mine has also done that.
My biggest issue is with the viewing quality of the SP (grainy, coloured dots, and a major reduction in sharpness), the 4k screen looks worse than my 1080p 5 year old sony xperia z after applying the SP.
Can someone from USA try for us Xtremeguard please.
I've used their protectors on nexus 4 - front and back glass survived for over 3 years while I've used XG

RhinoShield 9H Tempered Glass Screen Protector

I haven't seen much on this screen protector and had to add my experiences. In my opinion this is finally the "perfect" screen protector for the note 9. Its a little expensive but totally worth it. I have two Note 9's and I have installed one on each phone. I ended up getting one that had a small imperfection causing the one side to lift overnight but after a few emails and pics to RhinoShield they send me a new one for free. They did have two different ones listed on their website but right now I only see the one thats full adhesive. The install is a little different than most but not hard and the alignment tray they supply works great. I would watch the install video so you can get a perfect install. The only cons I noticed is some dust can collect on the sides but not as bad as the dome glass. It also has black borders and the sides seem to get cut off a tiny bit. This isn't a deal beaker because the edge panel still works perfect. This is not an edge to edge but I prefer that also so it works with any case. I have tested it with the RhinoShield SolidSuit and Crashguard as well as two Spigen cases and it fits perfect. The SPen feels great and touch sensitivity is also very good (I did turn on the increased touch option). After trying a TON of screen protectors this in the end all for me. I was very surprised to not see any real reviews on this one.
This looks nice.
Is it full adhesive and does it go on easy or are there a lot of bubbles that are hard to get out?
Just had a complete nightmare with the ZAGG Elite and don't want to go through that again.
Can you get it on Amazon or only from Rhinoshield?
It is full adhesive. That is what makes it so good. No rubber feeling from a wet install no messy LOCA glue and no stupid edge glue that pops off if you look at it wrong. This was my install method I was able to do two like this with ZERO bubbles. Im kinda OCD with screen protectors.
1. Clean (DUH)
2. Place alignment tray on, clean again and use dust stickers that are included.
3. Peel off protector back film and place the screen protector on the phone but dont press it down.
4. Once its aligned in the tray perfect I used my knuckle and ran it down the center of the phone.
5. Slowly run your finger/knuckle from the center towards the edge but going up and down the phone evenly. These stick with more of a "tacky" glue unlike the "static cling" from most full adhesive glass protectors. If you get a bubble make sure to work it out as you go even lifting it up to make sure they are out. Once its stuck down I dont see them every working out. You will see what I mean when you do it.
6. When you get to the curved edge it will stop sticking and leave almost when looks like a bubble from the top to the bottom along the edge. I just started at the center of the edge and pressed the screen down SLOWLY all the way to the top and then the same from the center to the bottom. Do that on both sides and sit back and enjoy your work.
Im convinced there is not a better protector out there including Dome Glass. I even bought an extra for backup if anything happens to them.

And I looked on Amazon but dont see it. They have the one that's just the edge glue. But don't bother with that one.
Going to order on and test it out with some optical adheasive. So the glue they use is it like the gel that Zagg uses on the elite? I like the full cover of this one.
Never tried the zagg one. I thought I read reviews on that one and they wernt that good. You really won't need to add anything to this one. Just don't leave any bubbles as you Install it thinking you will get them out after it's all the way on.
I'm going to order one also. Sounds kind of like the Elite but I'm praying it's not.
Nah Zagg elite's work great. Just idiots don't know how to install them. My beef is Zagg makes a great product...then goes out of there way to gimp it. The black bezzles are absolutely horrible. Cuts down on your screen size and even installed perfect you get a little light leakage.
Ya I hear you on that. This one has the black borders that suck but as long as I can still use the edge panel and I dont see bubbles I'll take it any day.

I've installed many of full adhesive protectors over the years and I'm no idiot. Never have I seen a glass protector that cracks as easy as the ZAGG Elite.
I will try the Rhinoshield and see if it's any better than the Elite. I like that the sensors are covered with the Rhinoshield. Just ordered one up.
Is the alignment tool a plastic border that goes around the phone like Zagg uses?

Just ordered 2 so I'll have a spare in case I screw up the first one.
Ya it's just a plastic frame that you put on from the top and it has little tabs to center it. It's simple but works good.
I'm pretty easy on my phones and don't ever really drop them but the glass on this one seems pretty good. We will see how it holds up on the woman's phone she is a little rougher with hers. I'm glad you ordered one so I can see what someone else thinks about it.

I would be interested in this also... If these idiots would stop making these worthless curved screens it would be all good. Just got my wife a Moto Z3 and it's a nice phone thinking of getting one also to have a flat screen again.

I agree and absolutely hate these curved screens. The one thing I liked about the iPhone XS Max was the nice flat screen, full adhesive protectors went on like a dream.
AGREED. But who wants a damn iphone lol

My wife, my daughter and all their friends.
Ya half my friends too. I wont let my kids use them unless they want to buy the with their own money.
Oh come on!
I bought the RhinoShield tempered glass protector a few month ago and came with no frame to put it on the phone, and was only border adhesive with only top and bottom black borders.
But on the side on randomly on the center of the screen, the same ugly rainbow effects we usually got (and dot matrix too).
The bottom left corner had issues since it wasn't responsive anymore either (probably due to the inability to put it correctly because no frame to help even if all seem to be symmetric).
Not satisfied.

I believe Rhinoshield had both an edge sticker like you received and the full adhesive version. I ordered the full adhesive ones.

I just see they provide now two versions. On their install video, they provide an installation frame for it too.
I won't try the experience I think, especially when it said that it's not edge to edge

You can try GadgetShieldz their screen doesn’t have any Rainbow or halo effect(If applied correctly) and they make the minor scratches disappears.

I'm not fan of plastic protector. Not smooth enough for use with swiping, plus it really attract dust.
Ya they did have two versions. I never bothered with the edge only glue because they all seem to suck. I'm telling you the full adhesive one is by far the best one I have tried so far. It's not perfect but its as good as we will get because of the curved edges.

Question Cracking Crease

Hey all,
I bought my flip the day it came out and have developed some cracking and peeling on the crease of the screen. Is this something I can easily fix with a new screen protector or is this something I need to call Samsung for and use the warranty?
Wowsers, may I ask how that happened? I'd get onto Samsung. That's what the warranty is for after all!
This is just normal use. I don't do anything crazy. I have a desk job. It just started cracking one day and keeps getting progressively worse.
Hi i had the same problem. i saw a crack in the protector horizontaly in the crease right side 2 weeks ago(i bought zflip 3 on end of august) with a gray reflect on White color of the screen.
I decided to remove the protector (you tube vidéo helps to it and furthermore in the french stores all Zflip 3 demo units had no protector on it like flip 1). I bought an hydrogel protector taylor cutted by machine.
The bad big surprise is that the Samsung original protector is not an hydrogel one but a simple sticker like S20 models !! It's a shame for a foldable and the risj to damage the screen is high.
Now i have my z flip 3 with hydrogel that i managed to put myself because the vendor was not sure..... The feeling is better, feels stronger and i love typing text on it after.
I have 2 micro bubbles left but it's far better than to have a cut in the plastic.

Update: I got a new screen protector on Amazon and everything is perfect now. Removal and replacement wasn't much different than a standard phone.
Well done!!!, the phone is better after, the screen seems stronger, typing is easier and its protected!!!

Is it true when you replace the original protector with something else and it is not done by Samsung, warranty will be void?
