a Memo app that saves what i write consistently - Galaxy Note5 Themes and Apps

hello
i need a memo app to write my notes and thoughts and saves what i write consistently and can write from were i have left it.

Memo writing
Instant memo writing is the first thing available for you to "write **** down before you forget" when you "wake" the note 5 from sleep mode!
If you need to write a memo down urgently & you are already using the phone & therefore not in sleep mode, you just click the S Planner app & do it.
I don't quite understand why you would need an app for that on the Note 5 when it already has its own AMAZING programme for that. It's one of my favourite things about my new Galaxy Note 5!!!!!!

Ok agreed, but it brings new memo everytime, but i want a fix memo, to shoot up everytime, writing down a small note or phone number in different memos messes up everything, a fix memo say by a file name example.'to do' will simply and help to track easily
I used to do so on my note 2 by an app which wud dectect my spen sensor and open a particular file, but that was long time back n since then i dnt remember the exact settings

[Q] Handwriting "block" recognition?

Hi there,
I am seriously considering getting a note 10.1 - but I would only do so if that enabled me to go totally (or very nearly) paperless.
I have tried the text recognition thing on the S note in a store and while it seems fine, I think the lag is such that it is totally unrealistic that one would use that while taking notes in a meeting or during a conversation. So my question is: is it possible to set the HWR so that instead of converting the text "as you write" it does so for a block of text when you tell the tab that you are done writing?
I think I saw in the S-pen settings that there was an option with words to the effect "recognition at the end of the stroke" - Can anyone tell me what the other possible options there?
Thanks
I'm not so sure if SNOte can do what you wish. I haven't tested the app in that scenario.
The other tablet I had before this (Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet) had a proprietary app called MyScript Notes, and with it you could just write, no log, and at the end you can select which sections or your write-up you want converted to text with a Lasso tool.
I'll explore more tonight; I know I have to get to that manual one of these days...

There's an app on the market called 7 notes that will allow you to write in your handwriting and later on convert it to text if you use its in built note pad. You can also use their handwriting keyboard in any application that uses text input however, this method will convert handwriting straight away.
It is a very accurate app at a more than reasonable price.
Alternatively you can use the Samsung keyboard to write a block of text in the handwriting panel and edit it before submitting, see my video on you tube on how to enable this feature on the following link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1847817&page=3
I wanted to post about 7Notes, but was afraid to. I don't want folks thinking I work for them. Stellar app.

Thanks for this - very helpful. I might get in touch to ask a few more questions - I really want to make sure this tablet is going to make a (positive) difference for my work if I decided to go and buy it.

No problems anytime. Just fyi, I use this tablet at work extensively and it has completely replaced a notepad for me and saves me lots of time and confusion trying to type and decipher my handwritten notes that I used to rush to do after a meeting in case I forgot or couldn't remember what I wrote.
You may also want to consider getting a full length pen to make writing more comfortable, I've done a mini review of the original Samsung one on post #22 on the following link:

[APP] Note 8 MODE Switcher

Hello Note 8 users,
As a favor to a friend of mine, I made a MODE switcher app that allows the user to switch between the default PHABLET interface and the alternative TABLET interface. This app also allows the user to switch between an alternative Multiwindow mode as shown on the pictures below.
Requires: a rooted note 8 tablet with busybox installed (works for both odex and deodex).
1. For safety, make a backup.
2. Ensure you have busybox installed. If not, install busybox installer from the Play Store and use it to install busybox.
3. Install an alternative launcher like Apex, Nova, ADW, etc. just in case TW Launcher crashes when switching from one mode to another.
4. Download the app below and install. Launch and enjoy. Make sure you grant it root permission when asked.
DOWNLOAD
5. A THANKS would be nice or you could buy me a COFFEE.
NOTE: For those having issue with Play Store in tablet mode, the solution is to use the multi-dpi Play Store from the following THREAD.
CAUTION: Use this app at your own risk. I am not liable for any damage or loss due to use of this app.
You always surprise me ... how you get those ideas

Thank you so much - tablet mode great to switch to when using BT keyboard and mouse!
Thanks a lot for the app.
I am a rookie here and have a issue with this app.
My device is rooted and installed BusyBox pro for the first time.
Then, installed this app.
The mode switch works great, but Multiwindow Mode doesnt work.
it says "ERROR: Missing permission file."
Could someone tell me what I have done incorrectly?
Thanks in advance.

No doubts
You are the one who started it all. But where are you man? I guess, something is brewing
Do share when its ready, we all together can sip it
(app, build.prop and play store compatibility question deleted - but I don't think it's relevant any longer. Restored build.prop, reinstalled this app, now have no issues with play store visibility. However, it is useful to remember that play store can be impacted by build.prop issues - if you do see a visibility issue, a restore can be helpful.)
@chipwizz & @ianbbaa - glad to see you roaming around this thread. Did you guys bought a note 8 and leave me behind in the note 1 forum? I'll be with the note 1 for a longer time I suppose as I can't afford any new device at the moment.

Make sure you have "com.sec.feature.multiwindow.phone.xml" in /system/etc/permissions folder. That is the missing permission file.
This is a very cool app - but does it modify the build.prop file?
I ask because around the time I installed it, my build.prop file was changed (of course, I was making many changes at the time ) and this morning I noticed a ton of stuff in the Play store said I was not compatible. When I noticed the delta time on the build.prop I restored from a backup and now have normal play store visibility.

Yes, it changes one build.prop entry (ro.sf.lcd_density=177) to achieve tablet interface. Play Store may be an issue for some but the solution is to use the multi-dpi Play Store which you can download from HERE.
What was surprising to me was that after I reverted back to 'phablet mode' I was seeing GPS not loving me.
But this morning I reinstalled after redoing the build.prop and for now, at least, Play is working fine.
Thanks for the link to the play store that ought to hold up if I go back.
Samsung's done some weird stuff with their hardware buttons -- both Button Savior and the back button on the tablet style interface tend not to work very well or often when you try to "back" with them. I'd hoped to be able to disable those hardware buttons by being in tablet mode, but not yet.
I grabbed the key test app a bit back and the hardware and the soft keys do send the same codes, so Samsung must have written something in that grabs inputs on those lines and prioritizes it.
It 's reboot when calling or receiving call.
How to solve this?

Don't worry brother. I still remember the days I was saving for note1, will not be moving so early.
Real action started after you and ianbbaa displayed some magic of tablet and multi window. It is interesting stuff you created in terms of switching mode. So happened to checkout in the interest of note1 replication.

Can you use call function without problem?
So I downloaded this morning and doesn't seem to be working. I know I am probably missing doing something simple but here is some background. Rooted with busy box, framaroot I , model 5110, I also have multi window manager already on here could that be the problem. when I go into the app and hit multi window mode it states need to reboot so I do than after it reboots nothing it is back to the normal mode. I am trying to get the cascading window mode. Any help would be appreciated.
Call off the hounds. after a few additional reboots. it seems to have decided to work. I will report back if i have any other unnecessary requests to make.. Thanks

Well what I mean is, do you have to import into s-note and then export as a jpg? Or can you just use gallery somehow? I don't want to make a "note" on the back of a pic like the gallery lets you. And I bought my note from a friend, so no manual, plus this is an easy question that a helpful person on here may know.

RTFM!!
If you read carefully in the USER MANUAL you will know how to use your S-PEN for capturing screen & make annotations.
Take out your S-PEN
Tap+Hold while holding the button of your S-PEN
Wait until annotation/edit mode appear.
Annotate/edit anyway you like
Other way is:
Open Gallery
Select a picture/screenshot
Tap on Menu (upper right - the stripes icon) & choose Edit
Select PS Touch
Annotate/edit anyway you like
It's all on the MANUAL or you can try GOOGLE if you don't have a printed documentation.
PLENTY OF PDF MANUAL OR YOUTUBE HOW TO ON THE NET
SEARCH FIRST! DON'T BE TOO LAZY TO SEARCH!
RTFM!!
BTW,I'm not angry with you....I just encourage people to search first before asking something already explained plenty of times on the Net.
ADDITIONAL NOTE:
To invoke quick note:
Take out your S-PEN
Double Tap+Hold while holding the button of your S-PEN
Wait until quick note window appear
Take any notes you like
Try `Ink over apps` from the Play Store.

Some things in this post are helpful, so thanks for that. Others are pointless. Don't answer if you are going to tell me to read the manual or search myself. I know how to do both of those things and do plenty of them. That is not what XDA is about. You sound like someone I'd call on a Samsung hotline for tech support. The time it may take me to read the manual and all that crap is far more than if someone here already knows, takes 15 seconds to reply, then boom....good community help. I do it all the time in the S3 forum when I'm browsing and simply know an answer for someone. It's called being nice! Plus most advice here is much better than what a stock manual will ever supply because it is experience based. Don't browse the Q and A forum if you get mad by questions.
Anyways, thanks for your attempt.

Google Keep is amazing. Quick, easy, simple, and it works. Easy to set reminders too.
I already use Google keep. However, lg quick memo works differently than that. It allows you to write over your background. For example, if I get a call from a number I don't know, I would go to call history, enter quick memo to write the number on the screen. Then tap a button which allows me to browse the phone while that number stays on the screen so I can search that number without trying to remember it or write it on paper. Its all right in front of you. Obviously there is more uses for it than that.
I still have my rooted lg optimus g so I can pull the all from there. Not sure if that will work though.

I imagine you could set this up with Tasker. Take a screenshot which triggers it to be edited with a simple image editor, draw and save. Maybe assign it all to up+power instead of down.

[WIP][FREE][ROOT]WhatsGear. Whatsapp from your wrist.

Hey xda!
Since there seems it isn't going to be released a gear-compatible Whatsapp app by official sources I started my way into developing applications for wearable devices with my own client.
Its buggy and not reliable as my knowledge is pretty limited. But it does its job most of the time. I'm trying to figure out how to make it work better, so with time and luck, It will improve.
CURRENTLY WORKING FEATURES:
View the list of chats, with their latest messages and hours.
Open chats, showing up to the last 50 messages (sent or received) and their hours.
View contact profiles from where you can check his/her status and phone number.
Reply to chats from the watch! (Sometimes messages will not be sent until Whatsapp is opened in phone, specially if sending lot of messages in a short period of time. Some other times, whatsapp remains opened in the device after sending it.)
View profile pictures.
View received images
NOT IMPLEMENTED YET (but scheduled/planned/desired for next updates):
Push notifications on watch for new messages, allowing you to directly open the chat in the watch (Replacement for default gear notification.) [Needs some work, but will come soon].
View received images in higher res. View videos/audio.
Last seen.
Group chats.
Start a new chat.
View / edit your own profile
Call and send SMS from contact profile ( there are buttons for it , but do nothing ).
Voice reply
Send images / videos
REQUIREMENTS:
Rooted phone (Android 4.4 KitKat or higher).
Tizenmod.
sqlite3 installed on your phone. If you dont have it, there are apps in the PlayStore that can install it for you, or you can manually copy sqlite3 file to system/xbin from an emulator.
Whatsapp installed (Obviously... ) and working on your phone.
Notification access for WhatsGear must be enabled on phone settings.
Root and sqlite3 are required in order to access Whatsapp's sqlite databases.
I'm not publishing this application in the Samsung Store, but Im releasing it here for all xda users.
If not clear, I have nothing to do with Whatsapp. This is a personal project for my use that I wanted to share with whoever wants to use it too.
I cannot be held responsible for any damage related to hardware, software or data loss which the end user might cause while attempting any procedures, methods or advices found on this thread.
Reviews, bug reports and ideas are appreciated.
Hope you like it

If you swipe right or left in the keyboard special chars should appear. (I noticed some important ones are missing as ",". I'm adding them later).
Whatsapp should be closing by itself without the need of closing it from recents Im sorry to hear it isnt for you. Im at work now, but I'll take a look at it when I arrive home and add a button for force closing on gear app while I can't get It to work well by itself.

Well... no idea whats going on.
Can you try sideloading the watch app directly from your pc and tell me if it gets installed or the command output if it fails?
PS: I just installed it on a note 3 paired with a gear 2 neo using Samsung's Remote Test Lab without problems.
Thank you! I'll try later.
But where can I find the Samsung remote test Lab?

Remote test lab is for testing your apps in different devices. I used it just to check if it got installed with your devices well as I don't have a note 3. Not sure why you are asking for it when you own both devices, but anyway its on http://developer.samsung.com/remotetestlab/
