Missing notification volume control? - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Just bought a Moto G to replace a smashed Nexus 4, (I loved that 'phone and now it's dead), and can't find notification volume control settings. There's no volume slider for notifications under "Sound & notification", so where is it? What am I missing?
Running stock lollipop 5.1.1 which came with the 'phone. Thanks in advance.

Notification volume is controlled by "Ring Volume" under "Sound & Notification" settings.

Oh. So if I want low notification volume but high ring volume I can't?

Unfortunately no, not that I know of.

My colleague has 5.0 on his Samsung Note and has control over Notification volume, which is independent of Ring volume, there being a volume slider for each. Is lack of Notification control a Moto G issue or is it a 5.1.1 change? I'm frustrated as I really want notification to be very discreet whilst leaving ring on loud.

Apparently the Samsung ROM unties ringer and notification, as did the ROMs I installed on my Nexus and also my tablet. I had no idea but it seems ringer and notification are only tied on stock lollipop. Is that right?

[Q] Low Notification Volume

Greetings,
The notification volume is really low on my T-Mobile Edge, even after I maxed out the notification slider on the volume setting. is there a tweak, setting adjustment, or app that can increase the notification volume?

Oxygen OS: How to change volume for ringtone and notification separately

I am trying to set my ringtone at higher volume and notification at lower vol, but am not able to find any option for that. (like there is in samsung phones.)
suggestion guys?
its designed so in stock roms (since kitkat? not sure)..
for my nexus 5 with kitkat 4.4.4, i use GravityBox to separate the 2 volume settings..

Some ringtones are much quieter than others.--you can use one of the quieter ringtones for notification tone. Also, you can make your own and add it to the phone, or use an existing one, edit a copy of it softer with an audio editor, save with a different name, and add it back to the phone.
Maybe there's an Xposed module for that though--like this:

Turn off the notification sound on system level

I have an OPO 3 and I was wondering if there's a possibility to turn off the notification sound for all app, but I would like to retain ringtone sound as well as vibration.
Normally on Samsung S6, there's a possibility to do this when you press the volume rocker key.
I am rooted and have Xposed installed. I tried Ringer & Notification Volume unlink xposed module but that doesn't seem to work.
This is something that I am missing very badly, its tragic that google didn't encompass this feature by default.
Is there an alternate solution? I do not want to disable it per app basis but rather on the system level.

Put notification slider in priority mode and configure only calls in slider priority mode menu. They will shut up all notifications except calls.

Well that does the work but it also switches off the vibration. I want vibration for notification and calls to be enabled.
I don't know how then. Try custom slider mod from @weaton. It's very useful but i don't know if there's present this feature.
The way I do it is, to set notification tone to "none"
at a system level.

Notification sound volume

Hello,
I got Android Pie few days back on my U11+, apparently I can't find the notification sound volume, only Media, Call, Ring, Alarm.
Any help on that? Any one has the same issue?.
Thanks,
Mohamed

Volume notification sounds

The volume of ringtone and notification sound can not be adjusted seperatly. At itself not a problem except for the fact that notification volume is way higher then ringtone volume. If I set the volume lower then the ringtone cannot be heard anymore and the notification volume is still to high.
If I set the volume higher then the notification will become a disturbence.
I have tried some 3rd party apps to manage volume of ringtones and notifications seperatly. But those do not seem to be capable off manageing notification volume and ringtone volume seperatly either.
For now I have decided to turn off notification sounds because off the volume.
I have had an OP6 before the OP Nord. There the volume of ringtones and notifications could not be managed seperatly as well but at least the volume of both ringtone and notification was in sync (equal loudness).
Anyone else noticed this? Any ideas on how to get the notification volume in line?
Do you use own file for ringtone? You can edit it, increase volume, e.g. in Audacity on PC, so it will be louder than notification sounds, and then lower ringtone volume.
Sent from my Nord using XDA Labs
Yeah, it is not a OP ringtone.
Strange thing is I have been using this ringtone on my OP6 previously where I did not have this "volume" problem.
I will give Audacity a try.
Thx.
Hi try this app, This might work for you.
It will increase ringtone volume to 100% before receiving normal call.
P.S tested on galaxy devices.
