Introduction :
Hello guys,
After more than two years of the launch of Fly-On Mod, and the very good feedback it received, I decided me and my friend @thetechnologician
to work on a Fly-On app.
The aim is to provide a simplified access to the Mod, while freeing the users from the hassle that comes with installing the Mod.
And so with a simple on the fly switch, you can enable Fly-On tweaks but with an enhanced sense of control as you can enable and disable every single script and part of the mod as you like.
It doesn't come without mentioning that my friend @thetechnologician was the one who worked on the app, while im concentrating on the Fly-On Mod core.

Use:
The Fly-On Mod App serves as a Graphical Interface to the now-famous Fly-On Mod script, which means that you no longer need to flash the latter through recovery since it will evantually be included in every new App release . However, as of the Alpha releases, only select scripts are supported. We now support all of the Fly-On Mod scripts.
How to:
EDIT: The app no longer needs any installable requisites : Just install the apk, toggle the wanted tweaks and click the "apply changes" button. Let the phone reboot and enjoy
Useful Info About Tweaks:
-Fly engine :
As of Beta2: Fly engine comes in 6 different scripts, every script is packed with some useful tweaks aimed to provide a lagfree experience while being battery friendly.
and thus Fly engine's tweaking target is your android's phone core(system+linux kernel), and here are some detailed info :
-Network tweaks : Used to improve overall network speed, by tweaking ipv4, netcore and TCP settings.
-Build.prop tweaks : as you all know the build.prop file is your android handset’s ‘ID card’, thus it controls many of your Android system's settings, tweaking those settings would greatly improve responsiveness as well as battery life.
-Disable sleepers : Disabling I/O scheduler sleepers would improve I/O smoothness.
-Sysctl tweaks : system control tweaks are used to tune virtual machine settings according to your device's RAM amount. Used with the Ram manager, the combo provides a lagfree experience.
-Kernel tweaks : as the name states.
-VM tweaks : more virtual machine tweaks( VM heap size tweak for now).
-I/O tweaks :
-R/W Turbo : Read/Write turbo script increases your SDcard's read-ahead speed, and contains some useful I/O tweaks.
-EXT4 tweak (For devices with EXT4 File system only) : Disables journalism which would improve File system performance.
Ram manager :
-LMK : The Low Memory Killer is a constant debate between more free RAM and more multitasking capabilities as free RAM is actually wasted RAM.
The Low Memory Killer is actually a feature in the Android OS used to improve memory management.
This is an important feature due to the perennial problem of having low free memory causing lagginess and slowness in launching apps. When you have free memory lingering around the number of 40MB or less, the Android OS just lags like hell.
What this would mean is, you would want to tweak the LMK to not have the situation of it having less than 100MB.
The modern Linux machine in the Android ecosystem relies on a mechanism called Low Memory Killer (LMK) to consistently free up RAM. This is due to Android's internal mechanism of caching apps (and never fully exiting them) when you press the back button. This is to enable faster app switching and provide a seamless experience for apps usage model. Android also, by itself will also constantly look for often used apps to cache them for faster app opening. This will happen even before your system fully boots.
Now, when you mention LMK, the most obvious thoughts that come up are minfrees and Out Of Memory (OOM) groupings. Yes, those two are integral parts when it comes to LMK. The issue here is that no one actually mentioned that there are two LMK systems in Android, that being:
+ Linux LMK
+ Android Dalvik VM LMK
-ZRAM : is a Linux kernel feature that provides a form of virtual memory compression. zram increases performance by avoiding paging to disk and using a compressed block device in RAM.
-KSM : Kernel same-page merging lets the system share identical memory pages amongst different processes. The result is obviously an improved multitasking experience.
-Killer : that's a script used to kill media seerver and google play services when battery draining wakelocks occur to improve battery life.
-Cleaner : Cleans /system and /data partitions by deleting many unuseful logs.
-Governor tweaks : Tunes your CPU's governor settings to provide a smoother, yet battery friendly experiece.
-Fstrim : Some Android users suffer from poor performance after some days/weeks of heavy usage. This is due to a well-known TRIM bug affecting these devices, so this lagfixer script is used to fix such a bug.
-Zipalign : is a tweak used to optimize Android application (.apk) files. The purpose is to ensure that all uncompressed data starts with a particular alignment relative to the start of the file. Specifically, it causes all uncompressed data within the .apk, such as images or raw files, to be aligned on 4-byte boundaries. This allows all portions to be accessed directly with mmap() even if they contain binary data with alignment restrictions. The benefit is a reduction in the amount of RAM consumed when running the application.
-SQlite optimizer : Vacuum and Reindex tweaks are used to optimize database of all apps in /data and /system, to achieve better performance.(expect longer boot time when this tweak is enabled)
-DNS caching : There are thousands of DNS servers on the internet, and your smartphone will be querying a lot of them. They start to "talk" to eachother to see if any server has information on the domain you are trying to access. Assuming the site has never been queried before, your request will eventually reach one of the nameservers (the primary source of the information), and the domain will be 'resolved', the IP identified, and your device now knows where the server is and can initiate communication; what about if your device already knows that server, it'll initiate communciation immediatly reducing the lag, that's what DNS caching is all about.
-Entropy engine : This engine can reduce lag by keeping a section of the Android file system (/dev/random) full of random bits so that the system does not have to wait for the file system to generate them.

Can you explain a little more?

I'm on KK with my old sgs i9000 and with this mod Novalauncher restart all time.
But with your mod beta 6 it works fine.

Theoretically, the two versions won't cause any conflicts.
Although, you can try uninstalling Beta6, it may help.

I think not. Simply uninstall L_speed (if you're using it). Install FOMA check the options you want & reboot

I forget to mention, that before using FOMA you should uninstall any previously used mod or script and clean your init.d directory.

when i install fly-on-mod app 2.0 alpha 1, i still can not view log via show logs button and this app usually "has stoping worked".

when i tap to change view in the app, sometimes it has stop worked.
i use ES manager,in folder system/data/FlyOn, it has some log but all log was empty(0 Byte) and folder FlyOn also 0 Byte

Because the poor little Gingerbread man is completely snubbed due to the fever for ICS and JB...
... I decided to "create" my first custom rom ..
I want to clarify: I'm not a DEV and the kitchen is definitely not my world, what I'm proposing is nothing new, the thing that I've done is to pick something from a place and something from another place and put together what for me is best.
So, the big amount of functionalities of Shadow0 and performances/reliability of Gigabread+ ROM (this one based on QKE kernel).

4.SkyHigh Kernel 1.4d <--- click to download
This is the SkyHigh Kernel with overclok capability up to 1800 MHz.
It features more governors and schedulers than stock KQI kernel, Virtual RAM (SWAP) possible, HQ photo's, it contains by default a lot of tweaks like V6 Supercharger, Tunderbolt, Zipalign, Battery and SD Card Improvement etc.
For this reason no tweak scripts ar loaded on init.d folder, because apply tweaks twice can produce strange behaviours, so be careful to load additional (and in some cases unuseful) tweak packs with this kernel!
The main advantage using this kernel is UNDERVOLT capabilities, that permits to improve battery life maintaining a good performances level.
See 3rd post a guide and suggestions to apply good voltage values.​

SkyHigh Kernel Voltage tweaks
A good way to improve battery life is to apply some undervolt to CPU.
On stock kernels is not possible to change the voltage, to do this kind of operation is necessary to use modded kernels like SkyHigh or Vitality.
Personally I prefer SkyHigh because there's no issues with SD cards (but if you like you can follow this suggestions also for Vitality).
To set voltages you need to use apps like, IncrediControl, SetCPU, AnTuTu CPU Master, etc... search them on play store
Looking on the following graphic, you can see that SkyHigh kernel does by default (red line) a little undervolt on high clocks compared to stok kernel (black dotted line),
on low clocks the SkyHigh kernel voltage is equal to stock kernel.
My Idea is to try to use more lower voltage values, and based on my esperience using Castagna's Kernel on ICS roms I've seen tha my device works very fine with Extreme UV version.
So I've applied the Castagna's EX-UV voltages values to SkyHigh with absolutely no failures. (See green line).
As you know no all devices are identical, some are more low voltage friendly, some with too low voltages does not boot or not works properly.
So maybe instead to use EX-UV voltages you may try Castagna's standard UV values (blue line) that on high clocks is equal to standard SkyHigh.
Or maybe using intermediate values between SkyHigh defaults and Castagna UV / EX-UV.
Hint: after setting voltages vaules prior to stick them @ boot, do a normal usage of your phone for some hours, play games, run benchmarks to do some kind of stressing, verify that the phone is able to wake-up from deepsleep etc... If in normal usage yor are facing to some problems try use less agressive undervolt values, find right UV values is not easy but I think that playing with values between red and green lines of previous graph can be a good starting point.
Hint2: If you're not a gamer and your primary goal is battery saving, limit the clock to 1.4 GHz if you're using SkyHigh kernel.

I've used stock KQI kernel... the only *improvement* is init.d support.
If you want, you can use custom kernels, I suggest witality or Feacore with OC, and why not also Broodkernel 1.3 that support OC also.

In any case it seem's (at least to me but maybe I'm wrong) to that stock KQI kernel is a bit better thant stock KQI, specially for how it concern battery consumption.
In fact I'm waiting comments about battery drain from who decided to test my rom.

[ROM][GB][KQP]Ginger Reloaded v 0.3.9 [SWAP'En] - 18/Aug/2013 -

INTRODUCTION
This ROM was made for fun and to have a GB ROM with a GS4 look (or at least more or less, some enhacements will come in future...)
It is based on the latest official Samsung Firmware I9001XXKQP
I've used Vitality kernel cause it allows undervolting in way to save battery with a good level of performace.
About SD card mount issues, I've noticed no problems during the two weeks of "development", so I hope you are lucky as me.
On Vitality Kernel I've done some changes on memory management because "Springfield Tapped Out" was laggy as hell and i had frequently FC.
Anyway original Vitality Kernel and stock KQP kernel are available on 2nd post.

This is the Samsung stock kernel of KQP firmware, supports custom boot animation, init.d scripts.
It works very fine with good performances level and good battery​
2.Original Vitality Kernel <--- click to download
This is the original Vitality kernel with overclok capability up to 1800 MHz.
It features more governors and schedulers than stock KQP kernel, Virtual RAM (SWAP) possible, it contains by default a lot of tweaks for increased overall system performances.
For this reason no tweak scripts ar loaded on init.d folder, because apply tweaks twice can produce strange behaviours, so be careful to load additional (and in some cases unuseful) tweak packs with this kernel!
The main advantage using this kernel is UNDERVOLT capabilities, that permits to improve battery life maintaining a good performances level.
About SD Card: sometime depending on device it may happens that SD card does not mount. This is a known issue of this kernel, do a look on Vitality tread for solutions​
3.Modded Vitality Kernel <--- click to download
This is the modded Vitality kernel I've used un the ROM, I've done some changes on memory management to improve stability on some situations.
All features of original Vitality kernel are still present except (part of) V6 SuperCharger memory management.​

Vitality Kernel Voltage tweaks
A good way to improve battery life is to apply some undervolt to CPU.
On stock kernels is not possible to change the voltage, to do this kind of operation is necessary to use modded kernels like Vitality or SkyHigh.
To set voltages you need to use apps like, IncrediControl, SetCPU, AnTuTu CPU Master, etc... search them on play store
Looking on the following graphic, you can see that Vitality kernel does by default (red line) a undervolt compared to stok kernel (black dotted line),
My Idea is to try to use more lower voltage values, and based on my esperience using Castagna's Kernel on ICS and JB roms I've seen tha my device works very fine with Extreme UV version.
So I've applied the Castagna's EX-UV voltages values to Vitality with absolutely no failures. (See green line).
(I've had no failures also lowering voltages by 25/50 mV, see orange line)
As you know no all devices are identical, some are more low voltage friendly, some with too low voltages does not boot or not works properly.
So maybe instead to use EX-UV voltages you may try Castagna's standard UV values (blue line) that on high clocks is similar to standard Vitality.
Or maybe using intermediate values between Vitality defaults and Castagna UV / EX-UV.
Hint: after setting voltages vaules prior to stick them @ boot, do a normal usage of your phone for some hours, play games, run benchmarks to do some kind of stressing, verify that the phone is able to wake-up from deepsleep etc... If in normal usage yor are facing to some problems try use less agressive undervolt values, find right UV values is not easy but I think that playing with values between red and green lines of previous graph can be a good starting point.

Enable RAM SWAP feature

Do a look to this thread to thank him and for more information about SWAPITON script.
The RAM SWAP permits to have more free memory, that is useful to enhance performances on heavy app (specially games).
The trick is to force the phone to use a part of SD card memory as RAM. (More info about that are available using search button and google).
To do SWAP is need a kernel that features this option, like Vitality, Skyhigh and Brood Kernel.
How to check is SWAP is enabled
open terminal emulator and type:

the interface will show something like this:
The line corresponding to "Mem" voice indicates the RAM of the system total, used and free
The line corresponding to "Swap" voice indicates the size of swap memory: total, used and free, in this case the three "0" mean that Swap is disabled.
When Swap is enabled you should see something like this:
The line corresponding to "Swap" voice indicates the size of swap memory: total, used and free, in this case there's about 178 MB of extra free RAM.
How to enable SWAP
open terminal emulator and type:

Now a semi-automated script will run, follow the instructions that are displayed on the screen and go to the end of process.
At the first usage the script will suggest to you a correct amount of "extra ram" to enable (in my case was 178 mb)
It will ask you a % of swappiness, set it with a value = 60 to no degrade too much foreground apps and multitasking, set it higher i you want to maximize performances for hard games.
It will ask you also how to set memory management, you have 3 options
- Similar to V6 Supercharger
- Similar to Kickass Kernelyzer
- A mid way of above options
(personally I'm running on Kickass option)
It will ask you where to place SWAP file, my suggestion is to select external SD, is slower, but because SWAP causes intense read/write operations the lifespan of the SD card could be compromised, so IMHO is better to burn a few $ esternal SD instead of the internal SD memory.
How to change SWAP parameters
When enabled, you can disable it open terminal emulator and typing:

To re-enable it open terminal emulator and type:

To change swappiness level open terminal emulator and type:

where "XX" should be 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100

Awesome ROM! I can finally play six-guns without any problem.
The rom is awesome, and the best looking GB rom out of all.... Gaming performance is good too.... played temple run OZ almost without lag... more games like Subway Surfers playing good..... the only thing bothering me is the sound is kinda low... if don't know if its my ear problem .
Can u tell me how to increase sound by modding the file, i don't want any app to do it for me.
Also if possible.... to create a big mem edition for the modded kernel u used for this rom....

yeah would be good if we have a big mem kernel .... bcoz like 400 mb RAM available will be a big boost for GB .... and also can you port S4 apps like music player and gallery ...

make a bigmem kernel requires to mod the sources of kernel and I'm no able to do that. Sorry.
But if you want more memory you can do swap (use some tools searching on the market) or you can use Skyhigh 1.5 bigmem edition.

You can use the triple-swap i use.Take them from my rom, in /etc/init.d/.
Those are /system , /data and /cache swaps, so no danger of removing sdcard.Also, it's faster.
I have set them to take 75 mb from system , 75 from cache ( i think ) and 100 from /data.
If you use them, give proper credits to their creators, delta-roh and harbir.

That uses SD card.It's slower that integrated memory chips.

VIP Battery Saver:

First, it checks whether your device has the power suspend mode and then set the value according to your selection to ys/kernel/power_suspend/power_suspend_mode

According to Google, interpret only would skip all compilation and relies on the interpreter to run code. This should cause:

Crashed on first start up on my Sony Xperia Z3 with Android N Preview 3
Did a restart of the app and it seems to work just fine.
Somehow it doesn't detect the busybox installation as it constantly gives
out the error message (I have sterricsons busyboy installed and updated).
Enabled a few tweaks here and there,
Will probably give feed back if I notice any improvements.

This crash is due storage permission being reseted for some reason, just in case it still remains crashing, check it on Settings.
We'll put it on FAQ soon.
About the busybox... That's a problem. Is it installed at /system/xbin?
And finally, Android N support is currently not guaranteed so surely there is work to be done

Doesn't chrash anymore, even after a reboot.
About busybox, it is installed to su/xbin (default on N?) tried to change it int the installer to system/xbin but it doesn't work.
Will it affect the app as it can only access system/xbin?
Than N isn't fully supported yet is clear to me
I like to experiment with beta apps!
EDIT: I now simply copied the busybox file from su/xbin to system/xbin and it seems to work,
at least there's no error pop up anymore

The full log of the app isn't stored, according to Google, it can lead to performance issues. (Not sure about that G)
But, you can grab the logcat using the "CatLog" app from the post #4, then you just add a "hebf" filter and start the app again

Well, I've made a test.
Moved the busybox to su/xbin (This folder doesn't exist here :v)
And the terminal is returning this on the attached image
So, if you typed busybox echo "Test" and it returned "Test" correctly, the system is using the path that actually works whatever it is.
So if the shell can do it , I think there's no problem with su/xbin.
I'm gonna just add a exception on the busybox check Fragment on the app and there we go

High performance & power saving tweaks for all devices (THAT ACTUALLY WORK)​
Introduction
LKT is a cumilation of different strategies that target certain kernel settings. What makes this special and stand out from the crowd is being universal and device specific at the same time. And it's also BS free. Using simple functions LKT detects the hardware of your device then it applies the corresponding changes. It does support all mainstream platforms including Snapdragon, Kirin, MediaTek etc. covering hundreds of devices.
These tweaks have been tested and can stand up to 12-14H of SOT with no-compromise on performance all smooth as a baby's bottom.
However, it should be noted that this does not apply to gaming, facebook, snapchat, instagram and heavy camera usage ...etc
Nothing can be done for anything that is an automatic battery killer and forces maximum resources usage at all the time.
How does it work?
LKT aims to achieve a balance between power consumption and performance. Compared to tuning the parameters manually, LKT adopts Project WIPE open source interactive parameters for all mainstream SOCs that are generated via machine learning AI and can adapt to multiple styles of workload sequences. This idea is similar to EAS, which takes into account both performance and power consumption costs through power consumption models and workload sequence. But obviously, EAS has a much lower response time and replaces tuning with decision logic. In addition, it also includes other parameter tuning, such as HMP scheduler parameters, virtual Memory, GPU, IO blocks tuning, and doze rules to unify the rest of the kernel parameters for a more consistent experience.
LKT also supports schedutil and other EAS governors in devices like the Pixel 2. Unlike interactive, schedutil does not provide a wide range of tuning parameters but there are some workarounds. In Snapdragon 835 for example depending on what profile is selected, LKT limits the maximum frequency of big cores accordingly because big clusters power efficiency of SD835 dramatically decreases above 2 GHz, as a trade of losing 15% performance, improving power consumption by 40% or more is a much better deal.

• My device Lags or not longer smooth What do I do?
This can happen and it's a normal thing. As I have stated before, all these tweaks have been done for fit certain usage which might not be the same as yours. Because this, your device may lag in some scenarios under heavy loads (If you are experimenting huge lags, you have done something wrong). And yes, this can be fixed. We have a couple of ways of fixing it. First of all if you are using battery profile try switching to another one, if this doesn't help you consider the following steps :
Do a factory reset
Get rid of unnecessary background apps
Try a different ROM or Kernel
Try another profile
• These settings don't work & I'm not getting great screen on time
Keep in mind these tweaks have been tested on certain scenario that might not the same as yours, read the introduction in OP to understand more about this. However if you are getting worse results than before you are probably doing something wrong and here are some recommendations for you
Do a factory reset

Try a different ROM or Kernel

• How to update LKT?
Dirty flash the new zip or install the update via Magisk manager and it will automatically upgrade.

It's better to not use any other mods with this so they won't conflict, if your device is supported you won't need anything else
This module does have a UI, to access it via terminal type su then lkt and follow the instructions. Please refer to the help section next time before asking anything.

Hello,
My device is Samsung Note 4 - SM-N910F.
I'm not on Samsung but on AOSP (6.0.1 - because of some outdated xposed mods) as I prefer stock, bloatware-less, android ROM.
The thing is, battery life has always been worse than original Samsung ROM, mainly because of doze not being strict enough, and lack of wakelocks optimisation.
Naptime, Greenify and Amplify helped me reducing those issues, along with Kernel Adiutor underclock increasing battery life. And Icebox for freezing battery using when screen is turned off.
Now comes your work, I flashed your zip. I was a bit skeptical of what it could make to my OS to magically improve battery life... But I have to be honest, it improved blocking those ridiculous wakelocks when my phone is idle.
See by yourself : 0.2% of battery during 6h sleep (airplane mode on, because radio waves). When it is usually 0.8% to 1%. Ofc when phone is used like using camera, it won't do magic over battery, but those unnecessary wakelocks event seems to be fixed.

I got a weird bug on the poco f1 using lkt (mostly balanced profile) when I charge my battery indicator get stuck to 75%. However it still charge since it rest a bunch of time stuck to 75%

Hello. I installed the zip without problems and restarted my phone. Nowhere, however, do I see something of cloudy. Neither at Mtweaks or in the info settings themselves. How do I know that it works now? And how can I change the profiles?

Yes it does stay active by saving the selected profile even after reboot.
Would you consider LeeDroid a heavily tweaked ROM, and one that would interfere with LKT? I removed all L-Speed settings, and I'm getting incredible performance yet slightly less SOT. I'm willing to make the sacrifice, unless you would advise against using this MOD with LeeDroid. Thanks in advance for any response, and awesome work!

General [Magisk] Build.prop Enhancer

As an addition to my last post regarding A53 mods, I think its necessary I provide some Build.prop tweaks.
What does this module do?
It tweaks the build.prop file within /system partition and enabled some extra features.
The list goes on:
+ Vulkan - Enables Vulkan rendering within the home launcher which theoretically improoves animation's performance
+ Zygote Preforking - Makes apps load faster
+ Enhanced Launcher Memory Tweaking - Keep launcher in memory, which in theory should improove animation's performance
+ Hibernation (AKA Fastboot like on windows/linux based distros) - Saves your system to a hibernation file which your system can boot from which will increase system boot time significantly
+ RIL Locks Optimizations - Improoves radio
