I used Basel Kernel though
and Yes I have 16gb of internal space too. no problem keeping all kinds of app.
and if you're wondering I used the device or not the whole day, I played dumb ways to die 2, I took pics with flashes, chat with my girlfriend as it was Sunday and talked with my friends as well.
whatsapp and took calls.
cm11 and mighty rom are not getting camera fixed, plus out there ram is not the default 768mb. its less.

Can u upload u r modified Rom if it really last 20 hours and still had about 70% battery than my phone is no where near on continues use of 4 hours on 2g for normal browsing and texting and somewhat download (My phone is very old purchased in a week after launch so battery is still that great) . I usually use stock Rom as it does not have bugs than I found on most of the custom Rom did u changed ui or still it is same. I just want it. Can u give list of modifications u made in whole Rom and please do upload it.

There is no modifications in UI, although I can but then there could be issues and I work alone, although I have changed boot animation, used kitchen to deodexed rom and zipaligned all apps after removing the bloatwares and added few other apps into system. Although you all can do this, if you have been studying on xda, there are pretty good guides here. I have experimented a lot to get this result on my device. trying almost every setting possible. I will try put up and share with you all as well.
My upload speed is pretty bad and it could take few days to upload and I will also need time to put all the modifications and apps into a complete rom zip file for you all to flash (after testing of course cause sometimes I get mixed results with my device as I still keep on experimenting ) . will see how soon can do it and how nicely.
the reason it is stable is because I didn't touch systems file directly. so there are no bugs.

Froyo/Sense Low Battery Life Investigation : android.process.acore task

Hello everybody !
A few people seem to complain about low battery life with Froyo/Sense roms. As I may have a little clue about the origin of the problem, I felt like opening a new topic.
Seems like the task android.process.acore is stuck at 100% CPU for some of us.
Rom Used : LeeDroid v1.8, with latest radio

Any idea about the origin of this problem ?
Thanks for your help
is it a cpu percentage in a last column?
so there are 100%+6%+7% at the same moment?
a google search brings this thread up
http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc-evo-4g/19040-android-process-acore.html
check your contacts sync - is it constantly syncing?

Doesn't look like. Disabled contact syncing and it doesn't change anything
That figure does not mean 100% CPU taken up with that process, it means 100% of the 19%. Your cpu is not running at 100%.
You have LauncherPro doing something weird there?
try going into testing mode ie dial *#*#4636#*#*
select battery history
change top line to cpu usage,
I have the following
android system total time 5secs
android.process.acore total time 4secs
htc sense 2secs
etc
or download spare parts from market
The screenshot is from my phone.
It is running LeeDroid 1.7a with Launcher Pro Plus v0.7.4.0.
They stay at 100% when the CPU load is not 100%.
They both have the package: com.fede.launcher.
So is LauncherPro doing something wrong or not?
kill launcher pro and see what happens. Its not a rom issue - i do not use launcher pro and have no issues.
i have also this 2 at 100%, what are anyway?
yes they're com.fede.launcher.

Same for me, cpu load went back to 0 when I killed LauncherPro.
I'm gonna play with the rom a little now to see how battery goes.
What kind of program do you use for see process work??

Android System Info
I have exactly the same problem with my Samsung Galaxy S (Firmware I9000XWJM2, Root, ext4 Speedfix)
I also use Android System Info and my screen shot would exactly look like the screen shots posted above.
I noticed a somehow slow behaviour of the device, this started a few days ago. Restarting Launcher Pro doesn't really help. After 5 minutes the two Launcher Pro tasks are back with 100% cpu load. The overall cpu load ist between 20 and 30%.
I have 2 at 100% also but load is between 7 & 27%

Can some admin please rename this thread.
I don't believe it's a froyo/sense issue because i'm using
a Samsung ROM on my Galaxy S (eclair, TouchWIZ), it's not a custom rom.
Does anybody have a solution for this problem?? It started a few days ago.

New Approach (end user)

In short!
Build a G1 rom without so many stock applications!!! This will defiitely cause a snappier feel to functionality.
(I once used a rom with 37 stock apps, the g1 can only handle about 40 unrooted! ridiculous!)
I've had a G1 since the beginning, and as things have progressed along no one has really noted how much we've crammed into the device with each OS update, much like bloatware.
I've recently been running the latest up to date roms I can find, and they don't run up to par, there is a lot of lag and waiting. This isn't to say all roms or slow or even any at all, just my experience and I hope with that we can build a 2.2 rom without added applications.
Maybe make two roms, a bare bones rom and a full one.
I don't need: launcher pro
an extra email client
3d gallery
music
news and weather
talk
voice dialer / search.
There are better alternatives on the market, and the voice search is horrible.
All Android phones will eventually slow down with OS updates, lets not cram the g1 with new services found on better phones. (bluetooth 2.0)
I think it's great progress I do, but I think the majority of g1 users would be grateful without them/ a pick between barebones and full roms.
I've deleted most of the apps mentioned above, but without the extra email app my gmail wont sync, and all sorts of quirky things.
The g1 isn't slow, it was fast and snappy with the firmware version it came out on, let's keep stock apps to a minimum!
Tried to keep this short, sorry.
You know, you can easily edit any of the roms, by hand, or using dsixda's kitchen
Or if that sounds too geeky, you can always install root explorer and delete the desired apk files from /system/app. it works for me. i remove the onscreen keyboard (extra 4mb of ram), voice search, voice dialer, bluetooth (which i rarely use, so i dont need it there), extra mail client,
soooo..
What your saying is because you dont want to do it yourself and you are the only one who uses these roms, the developers should do more work just for you.
You do understand how easy it is for you to delete what you dont want from a rom right?
Let's refer to the OP and see what is now bolded.
I've used Root Explorer to delete apps (and still do) but it never is as sound as I'd like.
My Gmail won't sync and will crash after I delete the extra email.apk,
my contacts will crash when trying to join with FB small here and there things.
I'm all about being "geeky" with my phone, I'm a little bothered anyone would think I wasn't considering I've been using this device since the beginning with ADB and all that noise.
It was a suggestion for less technical users to not have the hassle. I read Cyan the other day saying how these devices are still fun to hack and they just keep adding to it not regarding (it seems) if it will be snappy and functional for every day use.
and thank you fonix232 I'll look into it
dude if you dont want all the "bloat-ware", you should try a plain phone like this, i use one my self

and on a almost serious note, that reminds me of that skinny mp3 lookin' phone Verizon put out like 2 years ago that slid out like a blade haha
Simply install an 3rd party app like android commander and remove what you desire from /system/app. Going to request a close/move on this, as there isn't too much development going on here+already slightly off topic.
EDIT: Also remember barebone roms, about 2 or so were released. The reason why you don't see more as it didn't really impact the G1 that much. Let's face it, we're lacking ram mainly and os support.

I uploaded a few stripped roms in the past, but nothing recently. This was mostly when I was repacking WG's kernel into various different roms. Now with AnyKernel Updater (and pershoot, dumfuq, exterry, etc) constantly building kernels, there's little need.
It really comes down to the fact that there isn't the perfect rom for everyone. It's easier for me to strip what I don't want out, throw some extra scripts here and there, and testsign the zip.

[HELP] Battery Use App has gone mad!?!

Hi folks!
I tried to search the topic before starting a new thread but I couldn't find any.
So, here's my problem. I noticed that since I flashed the stock JQ1 Gingerbread from chainfire's thread apart from everything else being fantastic, the battery use statistics in Settings -> Status -> Battery Use I can see are stranger and stranger.
First I have noticed that my the battery usage of Display had frozen to 2%. It is completely impossible, comparing it to the Froyo before, where it often went beyond 50 or even 60% of total battery usage.
Then, I saw that the Android System was taking about 90% of the stats. At first I thought it may be the infamous Gingerbread battery drain. It is not that, however, because I do not feel the battery draining any faster than before.
Then came the realization that no matter what application I am running, it does not get reflected in the Battery Use - only Android System percentage grows bigger. The funny part is that from time to time the total of all percentage goes beyond 100%
And, finally, today I unchecked the background update of the PULSE application, because I do not really use it and checking the Battery Use again what did I see. See attachment:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Not only the display category had gone away totally, but half of the battery usage is now transferred to PULSE, which I don't use.
Please, do you have any ideas how to repair that?
I am on a European Galaxy Tab, JQ1 2.3.3 Android + CF-Root v3.3 for JQ1
Not anyone experiencing the same problem? Just a little update from me. I read half the cloud already, strange but it is the first time that I cannot really find my topic in Google.
I tried what not - no result. I wiped battery stats, which only helped to the extent that the PULSE has gone from battery use stats, and display is back but the readings are stuck at 2% no matter how much I am actually using the display.
I read somewhere that it could be the kernel, where some thing may have not been allowed or switched on??? But if that was the case I would not be the only one with the same problem, but all the people that have flashed the ROM + CF Root 3.3 from chainfire's thread????
Still no ideas?
Hey guy,
Once ago I had the same problem. I don't think that pulse realy eats your battery. But we all know that the battery statistics is incorrect. So don't worry. Do use "AntTek App Manager ☆ root" (its free) to remove the puls app and wipe the cach. Or just install the overcome rom. It's much better then the Sock Rom. Trust me Because after removing of puls, there are other false statuses. I don't remember but i think it will show you that the battery is eaten by the core apps for more then 70%.
Sorry guy... I know about my terrible english
Hey odysseus84,
don't worry about your English. I am glad that you tried to be helpful. It is not that bad. After all I understood what you mean. You are right, even without Pulse in battery stats, I am still missing statistics for practically everything.
It is interesting that the Battery Use fails to record third party apps. As you can see below, the usage for all main system processes like Idle, Standby, Bluetooth, Wi-fi, Voice Calls are there. The statistics for display usage is stuck at 2% as already mentioned, which is the most annoying part.
Another interesting thing is that everything seems to be put into Android System usage, because normally it wouldn't get more than 10% of the overall battery usage share.
May I ask for other people running Gingerbread 2.3.3 to post their battery stats here?
Look. It's just a Bug. There is "Android System"written but it means the % of the Display. There is "Display" written but it means something else. As you can see on the attached pic we have almost the same "Display" usage.
And the other thing is that the statistics nothing shows with less then 2% usage.
Finally you can just accept it or flash something else.

What will happen?

I want to get answers of these two questions :
1. What will happen if my android's phone WiFi, Bluetooth, Data & GPS remains ON. I mean if I will never turn them OFF, Will there be any problem with them later on due to overheating or some other issues. (I am not worried about battery life.)
2. What will happen if I run a custom ROM throughout the life of my phone. In this I want to know that Will it decrease the phone's overall life because that ROM will not be the ROM that is originally intended to be used with the specific hardware which is made by company.
By the way my phone is LG Optimus Net / P690 & I want to know this so that I will take care of these things
1. I dnt think heating would be a problem, but yes battery will be consumed lot faster
2. Android is complicated so there's no definate answer for this, it may or it may not. Depending on how the ROM was built. But mostly it won't effect b'cause ROM is made by Pros
Hope this helps...

1.Only battery would be drained. (Not that you care...)
2.That has nothing to do with your phone's hardware!
1. Nothing will overheat you should be fine...
2. If you're worried you can always flash a different ROM or just reflash your current ROM to keep it updated and rid of excess junk you acquire over time.

Horrible Battery Life 2h SOT - Need Kernel or other tweaks advice

Okay, so to make a long story short I have terrible battery life. (See image below)
I don't even game, all this time the only thing I did was listening to music trough my headphones whatsapp, and some low usage of Facebook (Messenger). Nothing special in my eyes.
2h55 min SOT. This is really the worst battery life I ever had on every phone, I have this for a couple of months now already. And I am so done with it.
I am looking for options:
Will a new kernel help me out? If so, which one? I don't like fine tweaking. Just a new kernel that works, no tweaking and that works for battery life. I heard FrancoKernel, or ElementalX is good. But keep in mind I just need a kernel for battery/performance. Not for fine tuning.
I will also install xXx No limits. Is this recommended for my case?
I want to know all of your opinions on this, and with my batttery life in mind. Because I really want to get this fixed, I am getting annoyed so much.. Thanks!

Yes, its a while ago now. I think it has been 1-2 months ago. But I can remember it didn't make a huge difference. The thing is, I can't reset it because of banking applications and working abroad. (I wont be able to install them again). And I am pretty sure it wont help.
So I am looking for a kernel option or other tweaks..
There's no miracle, a kernel won't help significantly. You just need to track what's draining your battery. Delete ad many apps as possible, deactivate system apps you don't need.
You can try deep clear in the recent apps management and turn off smart boost in the laboratory.
You might have to replace the battery if the other suggestions don't help
Download Accubattery from play store and charge your phone above 80% then check battery heath, i have 86% health and it's pretty good.
Also if you oem unlock bootloader it will wipe everything.
Your doing something wrong.
Tinder much? Or u checking to many IG babes?
Edit: in that case nothing wrong, but something else is wrong (logs plz)
I'm experiencing exactly the same. Idle battery drain is about 1,5% per hour, I hardly get more than 3 hrs of screen on time. I do think it has something to do with the OS, but can't figure out what...
Go in Google settings, location, scan, and check in wifi and Bluetooth are enabled. This combo drains a lot
Airplane mode + Wifi enable.
