Google paly services.. - Galaxy S6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Friends, I am in doubt about the Google Play Services version . I read that the version 440 stopped and now to our s6 it's 240. So cuz the 440 stopped updating . Which version that installed the S6 guys ? Someone with the 240 ?

Yes, 240 is fine. I've been running it for a while with no issues, as have many others.

[Q] Google play compatibility issue, changing build.prop does not help

Hello,
I had some compatibility issues with my tablet and Google Play not showing a lot of games, so i have decided to do the most common fix - changing build.prop to spoof other device. I have changed it to Nexus 7, rebooted, and cleaned cache/data of google play.
Point is, the google play is still showing me the same exact apps as before, and all the apps that were incompatible are still incompatible.
Any idea what should i do? Thanks in advance.

No i havent, since Nexus 7 have default density 160 dpi, and mine tablet also had 160 dpi.
I have changed only Model and brand, since guides said that is enough. Also, the device truly is identified as Nexus 7 (when connected by usb, in antutu,...)

[Q] Market trouble

Hi!
Need some help with my Samsung galaxy nexus.
After the last update (to 4.1.1) my playstore app insists to JUST show the free applications in the store. Ive been told by some guys that got the same problem that this might be because google thinks i live in non-accepted-by-google country, wich i do not for the record.
Now to my Q :
Is it possible to hack my device in some way so that playstore think i live in some other country ? Or atleast in my own land.

Change Galaxy A3 from Chinese to European/Dutch

I had to buy a new phone while being in China: Samsung Galaxy A3 SM-A3000 upgraded with Android 5.0.2. However, due chinese policy, several sdervices from Google like Play Store and Play services are not installed. I have tried to add the APKs but thgat does not work.
How can I get a European (English or Dutch) version on my smartphone that also included Play Store, Gmail and accept my Google account?
Kind regards

Google Play Sevices Missing

Well I messed my phone up so no Google apps will start.
I have a boost version, rooted.
What I did, thinking this would not hurt anything and I don't use the apps, I uninstalled updates for google chrome, street view, and gmail. Since I don't use these apps I then disabled them.
Then I tried opening the playstore. It crashes. Cleared cache and rebooted the phone.
A message comes up that google play services are missing. How's that didn't touch that??? Thanks phone.
Under accounts I see I no longer have a google account. Can't add it, doesn't show up as an option to add it.
I re-abled the apps. Still have issues.
Any ideas on how to correct the issue? Wasn't sure I wanted to do a factory reset in case I brick.
Other thing I currently did, was pull the google play services off my S3. Not sure If i could put that on my phone and install it that way?

Not sure which one is required.
Or can someone with the Boost version give me this info:
Go to Settings -> Apps -> Google Play Services, and look at the last 3 digits in the parentheses.

you need the one ending with 236
here is the rules for google apps with dpi settings:
we have lollipop for version 8 google play services using 320 dpi on armeabi-v7a cpu
Uploader's notes:
To figure out the right version of Google Play services for your Android device, go to Settings -> Apps -> Google Play services, and look at the last 3 numbers in the parentheses. You'll see something like -XYZ where:
* X defines Android version:
0 for Android <5.0
2 for Android 5.0 and 5.1 starting with Play Services v8
4 for Android 5.0 and 5.1 before Play Services v8, Android >= 6.0 after
7 for Android 5.0
8 for Android TV
* Y defines CPU architecture:
1 for armeabi
3 for armeabi-v7a
4 for arm64-v8a
7 for x86
* Z defines DPI:
0 for universal
2 for 160
4 for 240
6 for 320
8 for 480
Notes:
It seems that -7YZ builds became -4YZ with Google Play services v6.5. If you were on -7YZ before, you should now install -4YZ.
It seems that -4YZ builds got split into -2YZ for Lollipop and -4YZ for Marshmallow with Google Play services v8. If you were on -4YZ before, you should now install -2YZ in Lollipop and -4YZ in Marshmallow.
Looks like -8YZ builds are for Android TV.
Examples:
-014 for Android <5.0 armeabi CPU 240 DPI device
-438 for Android 6.0+ armeabi-v7a CPU 480 DPI device
-876 for Android TV x86 CPU 320 DPI device

Believe I would need a custom recovery to do it that way. From what I know, currently the Boost version doesn't have a recovery yet. My phone is stock 5.1.1 with root.

Did I install wrong google play service?

Hi guys, yesterday I try to pick latest google services and google play store on latest apk website call apkmirror.. And after installing it.. I notice that every rating turn into 1 star
I am using samsung s6 edge
And the version of apk I am installing is 8.2.99 (google service)
What I did wrong.. Is there a solution or I need to do a factory reset? :'(
Hi,
I did one time the same update as you from apkmirror and won't do it anymore. Too many errors from play services even after deleting cache/data/reboot, etc..
From my standpoint, either you reinstall another version to test (like downgrading), either better to do a factoring reset ... and never do it again ;-p
