[Q]playing of files from a playlist of m3u - MX Player

I had a problem with a playlist.
I created the playlist.m3u file
Code:
#EXTM3U
#PLAYLIST:Video
#EXTINF:30, Snikers
/ sdcard/MEDIA/snikers.mp4
#EXTINF:60, Coca-Cola
/sdcard/MEDIA/coca-cola.mp4
#EXTINF:92, Sony
/ sdcard/MEDIA/sony.mp4
After playing of the first snikers.mp4 file, video stops and the timer of time of the clip continues to go infinitely and doesn't switch to the following clip.
If the playlist is such contents
Code:
/ sdcard/MEDIA/snikers.mp4
/sdcard/MEDIA/coca-cola.mp4
/ sdcard/MEDIA/sony.mp4
that mx player is simple during playing of the first clip switches to the following file not from a playlist and the file from the same folder

MX doesnt support m3u list now, I hope that for next big update we get this.

It's not exactly true.
MX Player can play m3u files which is hls compliant. It's a limitation of ffmpeg.
I can watch hotstar videos which is basically a m3u list.

Well, I was thinking exactly about channels inside a m3u playlist.
MX doesnt show the list of channels, but I can play m3u8 channels of course.

Still no support for m3u8 as playlist after 7years
How hard it can be?
I can't pass multiple videos from DLNA without this.

Same here. I need a videoplayer with m3u-support.
Hast du schon eine Lösung gefunden?
WinAmp
I'm not very sure if this will work but try WinAmp, you can use it for free from the Android Market, but because WinAmp is a computer media player then I guess it may be able to play it.
ANY1 any solution for this? I have exactly the same problem, apart from the receiver which is Kathrein instead of Dreambox. I found Mobo Player, which is supposed to play the stream, but it does not show any video nor audio, although showing time running, as if playing. Any developments on this matter?
thanks,

[Q] Does the default video player support subtitles?

Hi.
I still haven't decided to buy this tablet yet. So I was wondering if the built in player displays subtitles embedded in mkvs, ass or similar files? I normally use moboplayer in order to play my soft-subbed videos on my cellphone since only a few players support this feature.
If this is not supported, is there another video player that supports this but also allows it be floating like the video player?
Thanks!
*edit:
Oops placed this in the wrong section. Kindly move this topic since I can't find the delete function.

I believe that the default video player only accepts SRT subtitle file. MKV playback starts off a little bit slow but picks right up at normal speed after a few seconds.
In most of cases, it support srt. I had no problem on most movies, included mkv.
Try a app call BS player, its in the play store, I love it and it will search for the subtitles any movies you are watching..for you.

Use DICE player . It supports all subtitles and floating screen , and if subtitles are not synced properly but you don't have choice , this player can slow down subtitles or accelerate them during play .

Looking for Android Video Player recommendation

I use Pocket Casts for my podcast app and really don’t want to change it if possible.
Most of what I watch/listen to are video podcasts. Since Pocket Casts won’t do variable speed playback of video it allows you to play via an external video player.
Currently I use VLC which allows me to change the playback speed (without changing the pitch of the people talking) I am looking for a recommendation that will allow me to play a video but while the phone is locked (playing just the audio) that I can play/pause via headphone while locked with the screen off and still keep my variable speed playback then keep going when I unlock the phone.
I’ve already tried; VLC ,BS Player ,MX video player, Beyond Pod and others and have yet to find one that can do this while locked without stopping the playback.
Can anyone recommend a video player that will allow for playback speed while locked?
I’m running Note 3 with lollipop.
Thanks
VLC has an option to play only the audio of a video file
Have you tried archos video player?

Thanks.

there is an option in the settings to continue playback in background, check that and it should do what you want

Apparently there are 2 version branches of VLC in the play store and I had the old one 0.9.10. I installed the other one (1.7.5) and now I am able to do background playback.
Thank you very much!!! :good:

Because, MX Player is not designed work with local playlists. MX Player will work with only HLS compliant m3u playlists.
We have some future plans to implement our own playlist management system. But, not that soon. It make some time.
Can't wait....

MX PLAYER PRO doesn't recognize .SRT files anymore?

I haven't used MX PLAYER PRO for a while due to a faulty media player. I recently bought Nvidia Shield TV Pro and started using MX PLAYER PRO again. Then, I realized that the player doesn't display subtitles for my videos at all. It used to be able to recognize the external .srt files, but not anymore.
Anyone knows why? Is there anything I can do to get it to work like before again?
Thanks much!
Works normally here. No issues

By default, MX Player will only list the subtitles having the identical file name. Please make sure that the subtitle filename is the same as the video, and it should work for you.

I have been using MX Player Pro for years and I do know that the subtitle files have got to have the same filename as the video files. It worked before I switched over to Android TV (Nvidia). It shows that it picked up the subtitle file (I checked it via the top right corner subtitle icon), but it just won't show on screen. I really don't know what else can be wrong.
Imbedded subtitles are fine. But as long as it's a separate file, MX Player won't show.

I now suspect this may be the cause -
I am using Nova Player to use MX Player as the external player. The video files Nova accesses are from my NAS. MX Player doesn't have the capability to connect to my NAS. While MX Player is playing the video files that are fed by Nova (which has access to my NAS), MX Player doesn't have direct access to the .srt files that are located in my NAS together with the video files.
Does it make sense?
Thanks.

Thanks for sharing the details. We will share this with our relevant team for further investigation. Meanwhile, please try MX Player's local network option if your NAS server supports SMB v2.0, and you shouldn't face any issues.

I'm sorry but I can't find the Local Network Option in MX PLAYER PRO. Does it have to be the beta version that everyone is talking about? I'm also not sure if there is a difference in the versions because I am using Android TV.
I am new to Android, and I was told there are different versions for Android Mobile and Android TV for some apps.
Thanks.
