Hi, So i was not sure how to unlock the moto g phone so I purchased a unlock code online and entered it and my phone is in a boot loop now. It shows a white screen saying warning bootloader unlocked in red etc. then a black screen thats lighted up and then it repeats!. When I press factory or recovery option in fastboot it goes back to the bootloop and I've tried the steps above but nothing works. I get the following ERRORS:

What were you trying to do exactly? Unless you have a CDMA boost or Verizon moto g the moto g should already be factory unlocked you don't need to purchase any unlock code.if your trying to unlock the boot loader there should be a tutorial in the android thread on how to do it.
Hi I was trying to send the phone off to Europe fr9m Canada and was unlocking but I ended up getting this error

Yesterday I tried to install the BR 5.0 OTA on my RETAIL AR xt1032, it failed so I converted it to the stock XT1033 br firmware, tried to install the ota, failed again, apparently only for unlocked bootloaders.
My bootloaders is locked.
So then I wanted to go back to my original rom, so I downloaded fastboot_falcon_retar_user_4.4.2_KXB20.9-1.10-1.9_7_release-keys-cid12-Latam_AR.tar.gz with the intentions of installing the OTA afterwards.
Can't boot, tried tons of gpt.bin's.
Right now I get remote failure when flashing gpt.bin and I think also boot.img
tried fastboot, mfastboot, flashall.bat /eu
When trying to boot I get
fastboot reason: fall-through from normal boot mode
version downgraded for boot
failed to validate boot image.
help will be appreciated

It doesn't boot, when trying to boot normally it flashes the logo and goes straight to fastboot with the fall-through normal boot reason.
And I can't flash gpt.bin and other files, I get preflash errors or remote failures. I think it's because the bootloader is locked, but I don't wanna unlock it Plus I don't know If I can even get the IMEI from this point.
Try unlocking the bootloader. But im with the same problem. I were on 5.0 and then tried to downgrade to KK. My phone doesnt boot anymore.. it seems we have to wait for an official 5.0 firm

EDIT: I thought I needed IMEI for unlocking bootloader .. I unlocked it and booted right away, flashed 4.4.4 br retail again, applied ota through recovery, enjoying Lollipop.

I have a Moto G XT 1033 Dual Sim BR, and I tried to install (flash) the Lollipop for the testers, and it worked, but not with the interface of pure KitKat, só I tried to flash the same ROM again, but it not worked. My phone is not starting. It's only on blue "M" of Motorola. I tried so many methods to unbrick my phone, but anyone worked, the bootloader blocks a flash of ROM. The sideload not find my phone.
My bootloader is locked, I think that's the problem. So, we know that I have a smartphone locked, not rooted and bricked, What can I do to unbrick it?

Why you did downgrade again to KITKAT? Did you read the first post before downgrading it....?
If you cant boot to your bootloader, you hard bricked your mobile.... In the first post, He mentioned dont downgrade... Many people here hardbricked their phone and waiting for the fix... you are one among them.
Kindly post your questions in Q and A section.. reported to Mods to move this thread..

It seems that I'm with the Lollipop ROM, but I can't exit of bootloader. It stays in blue "M", not move.
I tried to do a downgrade, but my bootloader is locked, so it blocks any *.img file of system.

did you try enter in to fastboot mode by pressing Volume down+power button for 1 min..?
If your phone is Hard Bricked, it would not turn on at all. It must be Soft bricked.

try unlocking your bootloader first
Follow this guide
DO NOT downgrade to version 4.4.2 (updating to 4.4.4 from 4.4.2 will cause a brick)
ONLY downgrade to version 4.4.4 to sucessfully update to lollipop in the future
The bootloader got updated with that lollipop ota. Now you are not alowed to install any factory 4.4.4 image. Should be like on 4.4.4 release. An error about size when trying to downgrade via flash. The fix will be available when the full factory images from lollipop will be available. As long as official ota still not here yet, just a soak test, probably full factory will take some time

yes my bootloader was already unlocked
My assumption is you are rooted in 4.4.2 and install custom recovery
I suggest to start fresh, follow this guide to restore to stock

Your phone is hard bricked, nothing you can do as of right now.Solution will become available on a month or so, be patient and wait for the fix.

A update via OTA from 4.4.4 to 5.0 cause hard brick, too. I know by a self experience.

Eu tenho um moto g1 xt1033 e atualizei via ota, nao hora de concluir ele apagou e nao ligou mais, so reconhecia no pc, utizando Riff Box JTAG e Blankflash consegui voltar a imagem dele, so que nao sai da tela modo fastboot, nao reseta nem instala rom, quando vou fazer hard reset da mensagem ( failed to validate recovery image ) e quando vou instalar uma rom da a mensagem ( Fastboot Reason: Failed to initialize partition table ).
Se alguem puder me ajudar agradeço.
So i found some firmwares of my moto g xt1028 and tried to flash downgrade it to 4.4.2 but not successfully. After that, i tried to back to 4.4.4 and now stuck at this message:
- "failed to validate system image"
- Fastboot reason: "Fall-through from normal boot mode"
Any idea how to let me back as it is? :crying: Please help
P/s: I tried to flash 4.4.4 firmware again and many times, seem like all commands are proceeded properly but still cant boot , i wonder if 4.4.2 version do anything with it :crying:
Update1: Fixed! <-- I found there's 1 more file named "system.img_sparsechunk4" and decided to flash it ---> Fixed the device. Thanks god :highfive:
Downgrading via fastboot is very dangerous as you are also flashing the Bootloader. Is your Bootloader unlocked? I haven't followed if that's possible with XT1028.

I have official 5.9.028s eui rom and i received OTA update (EUI 6)..
When the phone gone to recovery for finish the update proccedure i got an infinite loop to recovery..I cannot turn on my phone,i cannot go into recovery,the only thing that i can do is to go to fastboot but the bootloader is locked and i can't to unlock it to install twrp,because i have stock recovery..I tried to unlock the bootloader but i see this message:
(bootloader)start unlock flow
FAILED (remote: Unlock operation is not allowed)
finished. total time 3.267s
Any suggestions-help-solutions?

my experience on many x620 is that when it only enters fastboot. you're in brick and you can only solve with spflashtool. but you can try the @mauronofrio tool that you can find on gizchina. It is made only for the x62x all models. only advice. unplug the cable at the end of the twrp flash. otherwise enter the brick again.

I have seen the process with SP Flashtool and i think that it's easy...But i'm afraid to do this because when the phone is plugged to pc i get the same recovery bootloop.
I will make my research a little more but thank you a lot for your response..
