Hello everyone,
Quick question about the HTC Sensation Z710A Which can be found here: http://negrielectronics.com/htc-z710a-sensation-850-1900-3g.html
Essentially what I am wondering, is that I know that this phone has the correct bands to be compatible with AT&T 3G, but what I'm wondering is if this is compatible with AT&T "4G" as well (HSPA+)?
I just want to ensure this and clarify, and maybe even someone who is using this phone on AT&T can chime in and let me know. Thanks in advance
Hey Boktai, the answer is yes. The Z710A being a 4G device and with the ATT bands, will get HSPA+. I ran a few speed tests, and my best run was 6.8 down and 1.3 up. The worst was 1.8 down and 1.1 up. It seems to vary, but I'm getting 4G speeds. Depending on the time of day of course. Hope that answers your question.
Wow $700.00 for the sensation!!!
Use coupon sb35offjkh for $35 off on orders over $400. That should bring down price to $663.
Canadagsm has them unlocked for I think $575 CAD (585 USD). Got mine a few weeks ago on sale for $549. Their customer service isn't all that hot, but the price is good.
I can get one for 500 to 550.00 as well in canada

Would the one from T-mobile will work with ATT 3G if I unlock it ? I am afraid it will only show EDGE.

Unfortunately it will not AT&T 3G only edge. That's the Z710E model. Your best bet is to find an unlocked Bell Canada Z710A. It's what I have.

Here is the one I ordered:
http://www.canadagsm.ca/phone_details.php?product_id=snp1764 It was $549 Canadian
Note of caution though, their customer service is not that great and since it's off carrier HTC does not warranty it as of now. If there are problems with the device, you have to go through Canadagsm who are also known as SNTraders and they send it on to HTC. Kind of a mess.
rejoice!
htc sensation in Bell-RockstarMobile on ebay....search for it, its like 485 ca
kinda cheap....me thinks.
can't paste link sry.
Does anyone know of any more good links? I'm trying to find a Z710A for AT&T under 600$. Can anyone help?
Edit....... nvm
Hi all, what the diff between the Z710A and Z710E?
Tks
EDIT: i guess the difference is on the 3g network right?
Z710A 850/1900
Z710E 900/1700/2100
Hello all!! Im on sprint so I didnt get the nexus 4 and i wanted so bad.. Is there any word on if the new Nexus 5 will come to sprint this time around?? Man i sure hope so..
I am not completely sure, but sprint basically has the same freq. as Wind (in Canada) so I'd expect it to work.
These are supposed to be Sprint's Freq.:
LTE Advanced Worldmode: Sprint LTE, 800/1900 CDMA, 850/900/1800/1900/2100 GSM/UMTS
Advanced Worldmode: 800/1900 CDMA, 850/900/1800/1900/2100 GSM/UMTS
Worldmode: 800/1900 CDMA and 900/1800 GSM
Leaks so far suggest there will be at least two different Nexus 5 models. The model leaked last week (called LG-D820) had wireless radios that could support AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile LTE.

I think it will come to sprint per Anand tech... At least they say it's compatible with cdma...

What I want to know if it's triband lte compatible with Sprint. It looks like it is... From the Anandtech document because it supports bands 25, 26 and 41 which are the lte bands that Sprint use.... But not 100% sure.

Dan Hesse should know the answer to this. Everyone else is just guessing based on the radio. Doesn't mean Sprint is picking it up.
Sprint does look like it is trying to be the good guys again and trying to play into what people want. I would be surprised to not see Sprint pick it up. Verizon, that is another story. They could not care less about making people happy.

This is my question as well. It would determine whether or not the G2 is my target for my next phone, or if the Nexus 5 will be in my sights.
Man I hope sprint let's us activate it. That's the only thing I'm worried about .

Just because it doesn't support the LTE 13 band, could it still come up and grab a signal (just no LTE?).
Also what I find interesting is the discussion of the radio that is a "Adjustable Tuner", so couldn't it just "tune in" to the frequencies we need for Verizon?
And if there are 2 models, one for AT&T, TMOBILE, and SPRINT... whats the second one for?

Well I hope it will be n Sprint as in many sites it is clearly mentioned that it will come up with the support of LTE that was not in Nexus 4..then there must be a probability that it will come in Sprint too....
Even if it's for sprint I highly suggest you don't get it. If you need a reason just go through the Galaxy Nexus Toroplus forums. We're still trying to get a stable 4.3 build.

Here's a theory on why the Sprint bands are there even if Sprint does not end up selling it. Sprint is now owned by Softbank. Having the Sprint bands would allow those N5s sold in Japan by Softbank to work in the US on Sprint's network. Softbank does not have CDMA service in Japan they have 3G(WCDMA/HSPA) and LTE only.

I have a Verizon GNex Toro and I'm running 4.3 AOKP official nightlies and its flawless. Not sure why ToroPlus would be any different.

This. I just assumed that if there was only one model then we could get the updates like gsm and MAYBE flash radio separately. Well a boy can dream, can't he?
Hello, I am going to buy this Nexus 5 in U.S. (NY) next week.
What should I know befor buying it? I am not from U.S. (from Israel).
What should I check or ensure?
I am going to buy it from T-MOBILT by the way.
Thank' guys!
You should know that you'll be buying the wrong version for use in Israel. There's two versions of the Nexus, one for North America (D820) and one for the rest of the world (D821), the difference being the radio bands that are supported, specifically the LTE bands. So while a North American model will work oversees for voice and 3G data, it won't for work 4G, as it doesn't support the proper bands.
Everything he said^^^^^^^. Also you should check out a few review videos on YouTube to get an idea of what the Nexus 5 has to offer.

why would i, as an american, need to generally buy a phone that is meant for European countries?
the US uses different LTE bands than the European countries, so thats why the hardware (note: radio only bands only) is different.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I957 using XDA Free mobile app
The D820 could be fine depending upon where you want to use it internationally. You'd have to research the countries of interest and the bands that are included in the US version of the phone to be sure.
If you get the international model I do not think LTE will be available in the US only HSPA+

Hi Guys,
It has been a while since I used an android and the usual problem with carrier phone is they lock some bands (dont know why they do this) and undeletable bloatware.
Saw some ads in eBay that are selling refurb pixel phones and the price is not that bad.
I just want to ask will there be some issues of using verizon pixel in Canada or is it possible to change the firmware of the phone to make it global so it can unlock the bands,
Thanks for those who will reply
Today or tomorrow you can find out!
New firmware will be floating around. Try to take the update to your device. See what update it tries to push.
Hopefully it does a good thing for you..
