Android 4.0.4 for LY-F1 (Allwinner A10 chinese low cost tablet)

We have a new version of Android for LY-F1 (and clones), still ICS, but is 4.0.4, with more stability and better performance than 4.0.3 (JB was compiled but is not public yet).
Android 4.0.4

Compilation: 20120920-LY-F1.1.0.3
To flash this ROM you need to use LiveSuite
Is pre-rooted too but you need to reflash the same new ROM (flash twice) to mount RW system properly. Complete root with UnlockROOT 2.4.2.
Default language is english, but you can change it for any language (if you need).
Have a fully functional Play Store, GMail, Google Talk adn Adobe flash player pre-installed. You can install Maps, Youtube, and other Google applications.
Have File Manager pre-installed (I prefer ES File Explorer).

Nice update, thanks for your instructions and (working) link! Easy install via livesuit, works well on my natpc m009s. Quicker than original 4.03 with some nice improvements to interface..

I'm trying to install the rom using livesuit but it keeps saying no device needs upgrading...

Do you know which touchscreen driver that device uses and the screen resolution?

this fw has no bluetooth...its work on my device that im working..somehow no blutooth.apk +signal in sys app..hmm need more work..

This device (LY-F1) does not have bluetooth hardware. If you want it you must use a dongle bluetooth and a ROM that supports it (maybe CyanogenMod 9 or 10 for Allwinner A10 devices).
Last JB works great with LY-F1, but the Seby ROM (based on the last official JB version for this device) works better.

Just got my CS968 / TV 01, what rom would you recommend?

Nothing special but i'd like llto flash an even faster rom to this device that i bought from aliexpress.
Would like to...
- Play true hd 1080p videos natively without lag.
- Watch 1080p videos on xbmc without lag.
- Still be able to do gaming without lag.
If it's possible of those 3, please send me a link to the thread!

Okay, download the zip files from the OP, in this zip come with everything inside like: RKAndroid tool rock usb,kernel and drives.
-Navigate to the folder where you download the zip

--Press the reset button and while is pressed connect the microusb to the OTG port, dont release the reset button until windows detect your stick.
-If you're doing this for the first time, Windows will prompt you for drivers
- If you did everything correctly you will see 'Found RKAndroid Loader Rock USB'. Click EraseIDB.
- When it done then click Run.

I just recently unlocked and flashed cromi 5.4. It's running great, and I'm enjoying it.
But, I just want to know if there is a way to have the stock broswer search option to work again.
When you select a word, the upper right will have a search button. With stock, press the button will have a selection of apps for you to use.
I remember it's related with com.asus.quicksearch function, but I can't seem to find it under all apps in setting.
If I enable com.asus.yoututbesearch, then the browser search button will direct me to youtube app.
I tried install google search, but no luck.
Is there anything I might have missed from the rom installation? any tips for this situation ?

That search function works in the stock browser of CROMBi-KK for the 700 as well as CROMi-X 6.1 for the 701. And I did not change any of the default settings recentlly. So I doubt it's missing in 5.4.
Are you running an ad blocker? If yes, disable it and try again.

I've restored host file and disabled adaway, bu it's still the same situation.

That happens if you didn't select google now in the installer. Do that and search options will return.

Just did a quick reflash with google now checked, and the option is back and working. :good:
com.asus.quicksearch is also listed in all apps now.

[Q] Google Apps have no connection to server?

Hello,
since yesterday my Youtube App stopped suddenly to load videos (401 Error) I could browse them though only playback was not possible.
Google Play stopped working too, it has no connection and when I try to add a new google account it says "no stable connection to google servers" etc.
I have searched the web, followed some suggestions already, like clearing the cache partition and deleting the dalvik cache.
Even deleted Youtube / Google Services / Uninstalled Google Play updates.
And downloaded the .apk for Google Play manually.
Nothing helps.
Is there anything I could do now?

You could try reinstalling your rom and gapps if there are a gapps package , but other than that, I'll have your thread moved to your device section.

Done, Gapps didn´t appear again
So downloaded Play Store apk from here. http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-store/google-play-store-5-1-11-apk/
Still the same error.
Downloaded alternative Youtube app now. Even this can´t load any youtube videos. Although browsing them works fine.

Didn´t help, I guess its bricked for some reason and I need to reflash completely

I guess Google just decided to not support my device anymore.
After wiping everything and intalling CM7+Gapps first everything worked nicely. Then Market updated to PlayStore and force-installed the Google Play Services.
After some more background updating the system was more and more laggy until the services were at. approx 200MB size. Which is the system storage of the P500.

Well went back to Stock ROM Backup by CWM Recovery.
First it worked now after a while again Network error in the market. (other preinstalled gapps, old youtube and such are working though) So I dont know what to do anymore.
