ZeroLemon 9000 mAh Extended Battery - Note Edge Accessories

I was sick of my battery life being horrible no matter the rom or customizations so I went ahead and ordered this bad boy that just came in today.
Initial impressions:
The size isn't that much bigger than the phone with the seidio case that I had... it still fits in my jeans pocket (don't own skinny jeans, so no clue there).
Will update this once I get more time with it and let u know about charging time, how long it last, and if there are any other questions let me know.

Acquired one of these myself. I really like ZeroLemon's battery design - a lot of these cases just bulge out the back where the rest of the battery is while leaving the rest of the phone thin, which is super unwieldly. ZL actually designs their batteries to pack in as many cells as possible over the entire back of the phone, which makes it a much smoother experience.
The battery ended up lasting me a little more than 3 days, which was great. However, I found that the power button was way too easy to press - I had to be careful putting my phone away every time because even the gentlest press seemed to trigger the button and allow things to happen on-screen in my pocket, which is not ideal.
I'll be posting my review later tonight on the Amazon product page. Overall, I'd say if you need a 9000mah battery on your phone, this is the way to go..if you don't store your phone in your pocket. To be fair, with how thick your phone becomes with this case, people who hold their phones in their pockets aren't really the main demographic, I'd say.

I got this battery also. I like this a lot better than the Mugan 6,000mAh I bought for about the same price. As far as lasting 3 days, I guess if you don't use it a lot, that would be really easy. I normally plug mine in every night. But for an experiment I decided to let it go. Surprise it lasted me the whole 2nd day too. But time for bed, I plugged it in after 39 hours I plugged it in at 23%. Compared to stock where I had to charge sometime during the day. The Mugan would last me the whole day. But it is always nice to know that if I needed, I could go 2 days without a charge. A lot longer if I take it easy.
The case is ok, I like the back of the phone better because it isn't weird shape. I hate the other where the battery juts out and the top is skinny. That made the whole phone hard to hold. But this one tapers a bit near the top, but is a lot nicer to hold. I think it was a lot better investment than the Mugan....

I just got this from Zero Lemon. For those of you that have this battery, do you notice that your battery level in the status bar is inaccurate? I charged mine to 100% (which took a LONG time). After starting my edge, my battery level dropped to 97% in like two minutes. Is the system just showing inaccurate readings because of the larger battery? I'm at 93% after only being turned on for 14 minutes. My 3000mah battery did much better that that.
Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

At first I saw those results and then I would get to 1% and it would last over 5 hours on there. For me I wiped battery stats, let it completely die, recharged it without disconnecting it, let it fully discharge again and it seemed to drain more accurately afterwards

How is your 3,000mAh battery after 16 hours with 5 hours screen on time?
I don't sweat the small stuff... As long as I can a full day + out of this and not be gimping my phone, I'm set... lol

My Amazon Review
I've never used an extended battery on any cell phone before so I wasn't sure what to expect. I loved the idea of getting tripple the time out of one charge so was excited to give this a try.
I'll begin with the battery. The batteries are BIG. I felt that they could have a slightly tighter fit in the phone battery pocket but knew the case would help hold them in place. No big deal. I installed the battery and my phone showed a 59% charge. I wanted to run the battery down as far as possible before fully charging. It sure didn't take long. My phone was dead in only a few hours. So I charged the batteries to 100% while I slept. Turned on my phone and headed for work. In the hour it took me to get to work, (with my phone in my pocket) I'd used 20% of my charge. Wwwhhaaaaat!!!??. I could actually watch my charge meter go down while using my phone. I was so disappointed. I was getting better time out of my 3000mah stock battery. I even posted a help question on Xda Developers for advice on why I'm losing a charge so quickly. One member stated that they had experienced the same issue for the first few days, but charge time improved. So I decided to stick with the Zerolemon for a little while longer. Boy am I glad I did. I'm writing this review on my phone 40 hours after unplugging from my charger and still have 47% charge left. The battery gets slightly warm when charging but nothing to get overly concerned about. It never gets hot while in using my phone. I think Zerolemon had done a great job of designing this power source. My only suggestion for the actual batteries would be maybe a note in the instructions informing us that it may take a few charges to see the full benefits.
On to the case... The case is a nice TPU material with a slight texture that prevents it from being slippery. It slips on and off my phone with ease while still being snug enough that it doesn't come off if I don't WANT it to. I was concerned that it would be difficult to put in and out of my pocket because of the size, but it hasn't been an issue at all. My speaker still sounds loud and clear. Zerolemon has done a FANTASTIC job of making all ports easily accessible as well as my s-pen. I will say that the case has caused a slight lifting of my screen protector where others that I use have not. It's not a deal breaker though. The complaints about the power button are justifiable. It is a bit too touchy and needs to be tightened up, somehow. It hasn't been an issue for me but I can see how it might be for some.
All in all, this battery /case combination isn't perfect. But it's pretty damn close. I'm very happy with Zerolemon's efforts and attention to usability. I will continue to use this battery /case combo for a long time to come.
Thank you ZEROLEMON !!!

Just order mine, icant wait wait to get it. So tired of haing to charge my phone in the middle of the day. Thank you guys for your reviews. Really helped me make up my mind.

That's great, you will love it. All day is no problem, no matter how you use it.

Can anyone show a picture of how the camera, flash, and heart rate sensor area looks with the zero lemon. I want to buy this but want to see how the bezel surrounds that area since I can't find any pictures of that. Thank you!

Hope this is what you want.

Thanks! This what I was wanting to see. So they didn't make the bezel correctly to fully surround the camera and heart rate/flash. Still doesn't look bad... Probably going to buy one tonight! Thanks again!

Got everything charged up and running. I was having some issues with the power button so cut a little piece of paper to fit between power button and ir blaster and doubled it and the power button works awesome now. I will have to come up with a more permant solution later.

I would like to know, does this battery support the adaptive charging feature? Will it still charge 3000mah worth of power in one hour?.or how long does it take to charge? Does nfc still work?
Also no one seems to mention this but there is no cutout for the speaker. How does that affect functionality?

From 20% about a couple hours to 100% But I don't stick around because I plug it in before I go to bed. But in the beginning I did get up to check, so I know it is less than 3.

I would say yes, because I set it up, but haven't tried using it. As I don't really use it in the first place. ZeroLemon says it does.

The speakers work fine. Probably because if there being so much space and places the sound can come out. I don't think the case was meant to be soundproof.

Woke at 9 and took my phone off charge at 100%. About to go to bed and i have 2% left. 7 hours of screen on time. Loving it!!

So I just got this badboy delivered! Man I burst out laughing when I saw the battery. It's so huge.
Questions: I'm assuming the phone can't detect the true capacity of the battery? So battery readings are useless? Any app out there that can? How about when it's charging? How do I truly know of the battery is at 100%? How do I truly know how much juice I got left?
Thanks! Pictures below

You should never assume. [emoji6] it's reading fine on mine. Did you expect it to read 300%? If it says zero, then your phone will be dead. If it says 100%, then the battery is full charged.

How about the "remaining hours" estimate? Is that accurate? Cuz I had read somewhere that it was normal for the phone to stay stuck at 1% for hours or something like that?

Droid Charge 2600mah extended battery and door

Well today my extended battery arrived. I get a 25% corporate discount on accessories, and that combined with the BAT30 coupon code yielded a pretty nice discount Anyway here are some pics of the phone with the battery. I just received it so I can't comment on battery life yet, but I'm guessing it will be amazing from the looks of it. It looks like it probably wont fit the car dock which I do own. I'll have to let you guys know if it fits or not. I don't have the multimedia dock but I'm pretty sure that is definitely out of the question, as this battery makes the phone much thicker. It should get me through a night at work and that's all that matters.

That is pretty ridiculous lol
Thanks for posting these pix. I have been debating ordering one, but was worried that it would be even thicker than the extended battery I had for the Thunderbolt.
Looks like a nice option honestly..
It's not too bad in the pocket honestly as long as you don't wear super tight jeans. The phone won't fit in the official car dock with the battery but I'll be mainly using this when I'm at work and the standard battery when Im out and about so not a big deal. I'm sure a generic car mount thats adjustable would be able to work. As far as battery life goes I'll have to post back in a few days once I get an idea of how long it lasts.
that right there is seriously EFF'ING HUUUUGE!!!!!! Man, I knew it'd be thicker and fatter, but I didn't realize it'd be like THAT!!!
At any rate, let us know of the battery life once you've test it out.
And definitely thanks for the pictures!
Where did you order it from?
I ordered it from Verizons website. The battery door with the discount was $9 and the battery was $20. The battery is the same extended battery used in the Continuum.

Looks to be about the same thickness as the Thunderbolt extended battery. The back case on this version seems a lot nicer than the Tbolt version as well..

Yep that's the same battery. Order that along with the door. As for the speaker it sounds about the same honestly. Lastly it takes a considerable longer amount of time to charge it compared to the stock battery. The stock charger is 5v at 1amp. Im trying to find a charger that is like 1.2 or 1.5a but im not sure if such a charger exists.

Good deal, hey just curious what kind of battery life are you getting with the stock battery. I only had my phone two days before I got the extended battery, so I never really got a chance to see what the battery life was like. Like how many hours does it last if you leave 4g on and you use the phone like normal? If anyone else reads this, feel free to chime in with your battery life as well.

About 6-10 hours. What are you getting on the extended?

10-12 hours and that's with reasonable usage. Screen on full brightness. Always on data.
In SetCPU I have a screen off profile that clocks the phone to 100mhz and a battery <30% to 200mhz.
I assume everyone noticed that the battery someone posted earlier is for a Samsung Continuum. I also assume that you guys confirmed that it worked with the Charge I also assume that there is no difference between the 2600mah battery for the Continuum and Charge.
Please confirm/deny if you happened to order the battery and cover from Ebay.

I can confirm that the two phones use the same batteries. When I ordered the extended battery from Verizon I ordered the Extended battery door for the Charge and I ordered the Extended battery for the Continuum, beings there was no link for a Droid Charge extended battery. However, once the battery arrived the battery came in a Droid Charge branded box which I didn't show in the pictures I posted earlier.

On the standard battery I seem to get about 6-8 hrs with light to moderate usage and less than that if I use the phone heavily. That's leaving 4g on all the time and syncing two google accounts with all the data syncing turned on. I was hoping for better than that, coming from the Droid X but considering the phone is 4g it's not bad I guess. As far as the extended battery goes, I'm going to wait about a week to post my average usage, that way I give the battery time to make a few cycles and settle in. Also I want to see if resetting the battery stats in Clockworkmod recovery yields better results vs. not resetting battery stats.

Mugen Power batteries (1800mAh and 3600mAh) for MyTouch 4G Slide?

Mugen Power just released 1800mAh and 3600mAh (this one I'm interested in) for MyTouch 4G Slide. I just check them on their Facebook page and I'm quite interested in the performance...

I love Mugen Power batteries. I bought one for my G1 and the words "battery life" was just something other people complained about when flashing a new ROM and not something i ever thought about again until I bought the MT4GS. I'm definitely picking up one or both of these. I can't tell if the 3600 is going to be offered in black though. I may contact them and ask. I can tell you with that 3600 you could go camping in the mountains for a few days and not worry about you phone dying...very handy trip battery

Honestly I was very disappointed with HTC over the stock battery issues. Very, very limited battery life but more importantly, the heat issue. There were a few times where I was seriously evaluating whether I needed to put the phone down and give my hands a chance to cool off before I started getting mild burns. It was in my hands for a while there almost 20-something hours a day for days on end. I wouldn't worry about it starting a fire or anything like that, but that long-term exposure to the heat against my skin was becoming a consideration.
This was before, and the reason I waited so long on, getting a case. The idea of trapping more heat against the phone to me was my immediate evaluation and dismissal of the thought.
The second generation snapdragon processors had a fatal flaw. They were overly subject to heat stresses that just burned up the chip, because of what the chip was. Third generation snapdragon processors are in our phones, and I just couldn't pass this device up.
The more I thought about the heat issue, the more I decided that it was the battery that was the problem. HTC brought us an insane piece of hardware, but they aren't a battery manufacturing company and nothing else. I suppose the idea that they just got a battery in it to get the hardware out the door is a concession to getting the actual device itself to the specs it is. The heat issue makes it not okay though.
I'd forgive a crappy battery out of the box, but not one that directly damages and shortens the lifespan of the device it's in. Heat is your enemy, especially so when the phone itself is that hot.
Along comes a thread on the anker battery, and a decent amount of people who chime in or get and love this battery. I looked one up and found it for $3 at amazon - how could I not get it when an HTC replacement battery is $35-$40 for less then 1600...the anker is a 1900.
I absolutely love the anker battery, it's completely changed the experience. I no longer walk out the door and wonder if i'm going to run out of power, and I have two energizer 4000 usb-battery packs I can take with me.
The heat issue...gone like it never existed. My phone is no longer destroying itself just to live. I can do whatever I want on the phone for hours on end and not really give much consideration to what my battery is like until towards the end of it. With the stock battery, I was evaluating my next possible power sources before i'd leave a place.
...solving the heat issue let me consider cases, and another negative about a case was how often I was swapping out my MicroSD card for a while, there weren't any long periods of time (more then maybe a third of a day) that I didn't swap out a card.
I've since passively seen the name mugen tossed around in XDA, and i'm pretty sure it was considered a quality piece of equipment...just in a general non-specific sense. This thread kinda confirms that impression a bit with the opportunity to answer the question.
If the 3600 is legit, and I didn't click the link I don't have the time to look now, i'd love to know about it. I have some other things i'd like to get for this phone before a new battery would be a worthwhile consideration, but if it's really a good 3600 battery then that time would come pretty quickly, and it would honestly be more about protecting the investment in the hardware i've purchased, then getting extra run time.
If the battery runs hot, i'm not interested, so i'd appreciate if those who are going to jump on either of these to make a note of that, and maybe pass it along?
I'd really love to have this battery in my phone, if it's as good as i'm thinking/wishing it could be.
I'd like to say thank you to the people who are gonna jump on this and be able to tell us about it, people will definitely be paying attention.

The drop down option wasn't there yesterday because I was looking for it but they added it, probably after I contacted them because they got back to me last night and said it is available.
They also added the Mytouch 4G Slide to the list of phones on their site with nothing available yet two weeks ago after I contacted them the second time. I had been waiting for them to add product listing since then.
Yep the option wasn't not there yesterday, only thing now is they aren't in stock till Oct. 28 and shipping from China is another 2 weeks which total a month before it will be ship to our doors. Fudge cake -_-"

You're right it is a lot. However, from experience, I can tell you that I bought the Mugen Power slim extended and the extended with battery door (2600 mah I think) over three years ago for my G1 and both hold just as long of a charge today as the day I bought them. Also, the 2600 mah lasts around 3 days for me. Seriously, while overclocking and flashing new ROMs I never once thought "Is this ROM going to have good battery?" I just never thought about that stuff anymore.
Also, I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for" and I already found enough stories floating around the forums that put the idea in my head that those Anker batteries MIGHT be 1700 mah...but yeah that's more than the OEM so it is still an increase and can be considered a great deal still. I can't tell you how long Anker batteries will last because I've never owned one myself but two of those Anker batteries and a charger for less money than a lower capacity OEM almost sounds too good to be true and I'd like so see some legitimate tests on how much extra juice they are providing and for how many charges will they continue to provide it.
The plus sides for Anker: If you bought the two pack with charger then you can always have a backup and the price really is right and I did hear there is a Warranty. There are also plenty more positive stories for Anker than negative ones.
I've never owned an Anker battery so I'm not bashing it for those who have bought it and would like to buy it. You are saving a lot of money if you decide to go that route. Personally though, I just bought a $500.00 phone and I'm a little skeptical to stick in a battery that costs the same amount as a pack of AA's from Wal-Mart. So for my personal piece of mind I'd rather spend a little more on a battery that I've come to trust from previous experience.
That said, I just bought the Mugen Power 1800 (two weeks for delivery) and I'll probably pick up the 3600 as well because I do a lot of camping and I like the security of a long lasting charge on trip for a few days or more.
BTW does Anker have a website or do they just sell batteries through ebay and Amazon? I looked but I didn't see one. If anyone can point me to their site, I'd appreciate it. I was mainly curious about their Warranty. Where do you send it if the batties do go bad especially if you bought them on Amazon or ebay or something? *Edit* I just found their website. It was iAnker.com
I am the same, at first seems like an awesome battery but idk how long itll keep holding that much of a charge, anyone with insight to that?
I received my Mugen Power 1800mah. I'm on the first full charge now during a recommended 5 charge break-in period. This battery isn't rated much higher than stock so I'm really not expecting a miracle out of this one. I'm just hoping to get some more out of my day without a charge. When it's time for miracles, I'm pulling the trigger on the 3600mah.
That said, I can tell you that at least the battery is a perfect fit for the phone and there was no shoving or forcing to get it in.
siani_8, thanks for the update on the battery - keep us posted ( I know you will ) on how it goes for you.
I'm glad to hear it's a great fit, but i'd honestly expect nothing less from a company whose name oozes quality like Mugen.
I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this thread to see what comes from this.

---------- Post added at 08:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:37 PM ----------
I tried to follow the initial charging instructings as best I could for the first 4 days of use. I took the phone off charge at 6:30 A.M. in the morning and had it back on by 6:30 P.M. (unless noted otherwise) to give it the full recommended 12 hours of charge.
I have no real controlled test for the Mugen Power 1800mah battery; however, I'm going to give a rundown by day of my experience so far with this battery.
I am currently using the Bulletproof ROM and stock Kernel.
For all days so far, the phone has been on the entire time unless specically noted. Also wi-fi, wifi calling, GPS, and bluetooth were enabled the entire time and power saving features remained unchecked in the settings. Screen brightness stayed at setting 1 of 3. My homescreens currently include the Weather widget, Friendstream widget, and Calender Widget.
Day 1: During day 1 of usage, I sent frequent texts to my girlfriend during the day, made a couple of short phone calls, read the news in the morning and checked my email occasionally as well as the XDA Forums. I had a stop on the way home and barely made it to the charger at 6:30.. the phone actually shut down a minute before I got it on charge so on day 1 I got 1 minute shy of 12 hours.
Day 2: The usage on day 2 was about the same as day 1 except I had to turn the brightness up all the way and use the phone heavily for about 15 minutes or so when I got home to drain the battery to 2% and put it back on charge. Again, around 12 hours of my normal usage is fair assesment of day 2.
Day 3: When I woke in the morning I booted into recovery and and reset battery stats. When I rebooted it was showing 93% *shrug* I also dropped my phone during the day and the battery fell out..ooops. Anyway, the phone life seemed to be doing a little better on the third day so I started using it more heavily. I was checking my email frequently, sending frequent texts, checking the XDA forums a lot, updated about 6 apps, checked the news app more than a few times. When I got home at 6:00 I had turn the brightness all the way up and use the phone for about 20 minutes straight to kill it to 2% and get it back on charge for 12 hours.
Day 4: I used the phone as much as I wanted to on the 4th day. I still texted as I usually would, made a couple short calls, checked the news and XDA frequently, took some pictures read the news - all standard stuff. It was Friday and I wasn't worried about getting it on charge by 6:30 so I continued to use it as normal and I made it to 8:30 before it dropped to 2%. Day 4 was 14 hours of continued usage.
I expect under the conditions of normal use I won't get much more than Day 4. I suppose if I wanted to conserve and enable power saving settings, turned off GPS during the day and only enabled bluetooth when I knew I was getting in the car then I might be able to sqeeeze out more. Of course if I played a video game on it I'm sure I'd get a whole lot less.
I am not unpleased with the results of the battery and is probably about what I expected for my my normal usage.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=669497
This might help in general...link that should have made it's way here sooner. XDA review of li-ion batteries and care for them.
Just a follow up on my Experience with the Mugen 1800mah
I ran the phone yesterday with all the same criteria as my previous posts for Days 1-4 except I kept GPS and Bluetooth off all day. After 24 hours the phone was at 16% and then I put it back on charge. I was reading the XDA forums a lot yesterday, texted moderately, read news, made a few calls, took a couple of pictures and checked my email frequently. I thought that was worth sharing. Everyone uses their phones differently so individual results may vary across all batteries and phones
Obviously, I wasn't awake for 24 hours. The phone was in hibernation for 8 hours while I slept.
I do know I couldn't make it half a day on stock with my usage, so I'm pleased so far with my second phone using Mugen Power.
I was bored and decided to post some screen shots of my battery usage today on the Mugen Power 1800mah. Screen brightness was at level 1 of 3, GPS and Bluetooth off all day today. I'm still on Bulletproof ROM with Stock Kernel. 13 and half hours of pretty good use today and I'm still at 17%. BTW I just order the Mugen Power 3600mah so I can give that whirl too but I'm kind of attached to my Trident Case now so I'll probably only use that battery on long trips. We shall see. Sorry the pictures are so big!!

I hope it is too! Mugen makes a quality battery and you will get more life than stock, without a doubt.
However, it should be noted that users of the Anker Battery 1900mah are reporting longer runtimes than my battery for a cheaper price. Please keep that in mind before purchasing. I've seen a couple users stating 24 hours of good use.
I don't own that battery so I'm just trying to give a detailed representation of my real world useage on the Mugen 1800mah. In my previous screenshots, it says the display was on for 4 hours total. I was using it quite a bit today, on various apps so I'm not sure why only XDA shows up in the usage. I messaged quite a bit too but I'm not sure what that shows up as. Does that fall under Dialer usage I wonder?

Tried cheap 9$ 3500mAh battery (tests included)

I found this one 3500mAh and ordered it : http://www.ebay.com/itm/251065892927
for 9$ I'm willing to give it a try (and even though it may be the exact same one from a chinese seller, I prefer to have it ship from a US location).

Yea I received it a week ago, I like it so far.
The battery door you can tell is cheap when you get it, however I've gotten use to it fast, the slightly rubberized texture is a nice feel for me and seems to fit better in my hands now.
After about 2, 3 days of charge up, drain down, charge up it seems to be nicely consistent now in the power usage can easily get a couple of days out of it before needing a charge (mostly on account of both my SetCPU profile and undervolting table).
Basically once fully charged it could take about 1.5-2 hours before it would end up showing 99% on stuff like Google Music, email, Facebook, etc.
A battery screenshot back when I was doing a bit of music and background notifications (fb, email, twitter, Skype, etc logged in and notifying around 10-15 minute mark), screen not on as often, but I don't usually have my screen on all that often especially as I don't normally sit thru a game that long.
Charges pretty fast at least.
I don't remember 100% what I did at what specific time frame, but I know from 42% to 36% I was watching an Episode of Heroes so bout 40ish minutes of netflix there.
EDIT (7/26/2012):
I drained the battery down til the phone died, and used a battery monitoring app to measure the mV charging back up from 0% to 100%. Also a mAh measurement of the battery. (took about 5 hours to drain the battery down with everything running GPS, 100% screen, wifi, bluetooth, FM radio, 90%+ CPU load, etc)
Thanks for the info, I will definitely be getting one.
Hopefully it will render the same results for my phone.

Lol It's not that big, I can actually put it in my pant's pocket just fine. If I can still wrap my first set of knuckles around the lip of the phone it's still not too thick, notice that the whole thing is not thicker than the width of my thumb.
it seems so uncomfortable... I imagine myself typing with that thing on my hand! Nice to know anyways that it's a real working battery!

Being that I'm in the United States (Grand Rapids, Michigan), and the seller was also in the United States (Georgia) I paid 6/21 Thursday and received it on monday morning 6/25. One of the reasons I picked this seller was because shipping was from the US and not from China, even if the product itself was probably identical to the Chinese shippers.
If you were in Holland, Michigan (which is bout a half an hour drive from me) you'd probably get it in the same time frame. Not sure about Georgia, USA to Holland (EU), probably faster than from Shanghai maybe.
With the latest EliteKernel I'm getting even better battery life (primarily in screen off mode) so will probably be posting another screenshot in the next day or so.

what kind of mAh does the one you got off ebay have?
and does it get hot at all?
i'm thinking of getting one of these... especially because cm9 seems to be draining my battery pretty fast.

The one I bought is 3500mAh (should say the same on that specific ebay listing).
Yea CM9 was eating my battery like crazy which is why I switched over to EliteMod ICS (based on the CM9 Kernel, but uses AOKP for the rest of it and his own tweaks).

I actually got one few moths ago and Ive got to say, that using hw keyboard is incredibly easy even with this battery mounted. I would say mby easier than with normal one.

Yea I find it easier because the extra 'lip' on the battery door makes it easier to grasp when working in landscape mode. Normally landscape isn't a problem if you're not using the keyboard at all, but once you slide out the keyboard the working thickness you have to grab onto is effectively halved with the original battery door.
Wow, ~2 days of battery life? Is it really worth the extra bulk, though? And how long does it take to fully charge?

The day it arrived it took about 4-5 hours to be considered 'charged', when I first got it, it said 66% but thats because it was going off the info from the stock battery when it was actually near dead. So for a couple hours it'll actually say 99% until it finally hits the top at 100%. It takes a couple of days for the battery stats to become accurate it seems, but you could go a full day easy after the first 5-6 hour charge.
I've gotten setCPU profile tweaked and undervolting as low as I can while keeping 122-1286 stable, but I don't use it 24/7 at full brightness so yes it could go without a charge for over a day and a half. (though seems longer now that the new EliteKernel is actually easier on the battery once again).
With my original stock 1300mAh battery if I were to keep it in standby I could probably best around 18-20 hours, but that is if I didn't actually have the screen on most of the time.
If I get a chance to actually run down the battery I'll get a screenshot.
Far as the bulk, it actually doesn't bother me as much as some people may think, I actually prefer the cheap semi-rubberized backing on it to the chrome door, and it's easier for me to grip especially in landscape orientation, and I don't wear tight jeans or anything like that. But yea may seem like a brick when our phones are getting thinner and thinner.
I went with that ebay listing because I didn't like how some of the more expensive offerings (22 to 80$) had a dome-like covering over the speaker as opposed to the flat flush that this has, and the gamble thus far seems to have paid off.
Hmm this is sort of unrelated to the main topic, so I'll apologize, but:
Recently, my Desire Z got some water damage. Seems to be working fine at the moment, but I notice the battery's been overheating, despite relatively moderate use, and playing games such as Bloons TD resulted in a considerably toasty back cover. Does this seem like a good time to switch out my battery?
Short answer yes, why not try out the one in the op? Seems promising!

Thanks for answering! I'm considering a 1800mAh one though, as I prefer retaining the phone's original exterior appearance.
I just got mine about two weeks ago so here is my review. I ordered the same one as the OP on ebay and paid $6. This is one of the best mods done to my phone! I can easily get 3-4 days out of my phone before having to charge. I'm on stock GB. Sure it ads weight and thickness but not having to worry about my phone making it through my 12 hour work shift is well worth it. I previously had a 2200mah ebay battery made for the Evo 4G. The battery door no longer fit so I just used a cheap ebay case. I could get 12-14 hours out of it, but it started to wear out and I was lucky to get 10 hours out of it. This 3500mah battery is def worth it.

Good to know, I been pretty much on EliteMod ICS since I had the battery, but least your post gives me kind of an idea what stock would be like (or better yet what something like G2Lite 1.6 would be like).
Trying to drain down my battery, wasn't draining fast enough. So grabbed a battery draining app, gps, screen to 100%, BT, CPU load up.
Got setCPU profile set to 1286mhz, performance governor. And Spirit FM running in the background.
It's down to 33% so far, once I can get it under 5% or so I'll get it plugged in and charging up so can get an idea of the battery's minimum mv vs maximum mv, and 'measured' mAh. I previously did it from 29% to 100% with a measured mAh around 2700.

S3 2300mAh Battery

I just wanted to share the deal I found on a spare battery with 200 extra mAh. I would imagine that this does not have the NFC chip, but I wasn't too concerned with that as of yet since I don't use any tags yet anyway. I spent a little over $3.00 with shipping for one battery. I figured even if it was garbage, I'm not out much money.

Update:
Received this battery today. It was at 68% when I put it in this morning. So far, so good. I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary, like excessive heat.

Even the real one that costs $44 does not have great reviews. Will also lose NFC capability that the $44 one has. Should be ok for backup if does not explode in phone.
Fishy.... very fishy... also curious to see how this pans out.
"$3.00 with shipping for one battery" = guaranteed junk
I was given one of these exact looking batteries (can't be sure of brand/manufacturer as they're un-branded but they certainly have the same sticker from the looks of the picture) and thought "what the hell... it's free" and started using it. Less than 3 days in and I noticed my phone getting warmer than usual. Didn't think anything of it, thought it might have been just from me using the phone more. About 5 days into using it the phone started getting REALLY hot when charging. Next thing I knew, while charging the phone, the edge of the battery cover "popped" and was pushed out so it unlatched from the phone. You guessed it, the battery was swollen and HOT to the touch. Hot enough where I couldn't hold it bare handed for very long. Unplugged it immediately, placed it in a heat/fire proof container to let it cool down, but it kept swelling for the next 5 mins to the point where it won't fit in the phone any longer. (Not that I tried, but from the looks of the deformation there is no way it would fit in the battery compartment.)
As they say, you get what you pay for. Why risk saving ~$30 when it can damage/ruin your ~$500 phone! Worst yet, why risk it for bodily harm to yourself or your loved ones?!! (Perhaps this can be a covert way to dispose of/harm your mortal enemies and blame it on faulty junk electronics... hmm...) I'm fairly certain that if I had kept charging the battery there would have been a very likely case of it starting a fire as it was on top of a paper book on my night stand while charging. I can't imagine how horrible I would feel if MY phone had started a fire that ended up hurting or killing someone in the process...
Moral of the story - yes, you might get a battery that works well for you and I'm sure many people have, but why risk it?? My suggestion - STAY AWAY! STAY FAR FAR AWAY!
I actually bought this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330768545772
supposedly 2900mah
comes with 3 batteries and a charger
Now my word of warning: I have used these china batteries before for my other smartphones. They never gave me an issue of overheating or anything like that, but dont believe the power ratings they have. it is NOT 2900mah. Its probably more like 1800mah
I keep them charged and use them in case my phone dies and I have to have a phone right away. I dont use them as my normal day to day battery.
I got two Anker batteries for $15.00. I usually only need to resort to using one of them each week, but I always have a second if needed. I believe for a few more dollars you can get an external battery charger. That takes care of the charging problem.
How about two batteries and a charger from hyperion for $20. I believe this to be a fairly reputable brand. It can be found on Amazon if you search for hyperion. Sorry, it appears I am not cool enough to post links yet.

So, it annoyed me the Galaxy S III battery was 2100 mah vice our 1800, but physically smaller (albeit a hair thicker)

this is interesting... is the s3 battery rated at 3.8v too? also, did you really see that 16% improvement in battery life?
Battery life is better yes. And most cell phone batteries are 3.8 volts, and report as "full" at around 4.2 volts, although the app I use for battery monitoring shows the relay is charging my battery to 4.3 volts.

The stock battery life on our phone is pretty decent. But I wonder what kind of extended slim battery options we have for our phone specifially....
Great mod Nard. The S3 battery is very common and I think all aftermarket extended slim batteries for the S3 should work as well. As long as you don't have a problem ghetto rigging it, we can get a lot more juice for out phones. And it retains NFC. Massive plus

I have one S3 battery, though from KINPS with 3250mAh that I got last time, which is 5mm thick (1mm more than ours) and should be allegedly same size to the S3 stock one.
But I am not able to close the back cover when I want to use it according to your instruction. that 1mm is definitely too thick and does not let me close it.
would you please confirm that yours is 5mm also or is it less than that?
if the prior, how did you manage to close the back cover?
if the latter, i would go buy a S3 stock battery.
If it's really that tight, I would try and carefully remove the sticker and see if it fits.
Compare it to the stock battery. Shouldn't be much thicker than that

I got a 3 pack of those batteries. All the three of them are just lying at home, their actual capacity was 2100mAh. Besides it didn't charge over 87%, which is 1800mAh approx. Don't know what the problem was, guessing it was the maximum voltage the battery could be pushed to using the phone. :/
Just let them sit overnight, they'll charge more

Actually the big possibility behind this is samsung has a battery overcharge feature...which is why your battery may only get that high...also Another cause might be to check and make sure your charger is outputting 5v 800ma as thats what is required by phone...i use stock charger with my 5000mah extended battery and loving it...gets full charge with both stock and extended battery....also to note...because of this overcharge feature depending on bad flash or similar it may actually brick your batteries (yes its possible). A prime example is i thought my old relay was bricked...when i got new relay i tried charging the battery from old phone and got the bootloop of death like i did on my old relay..so it got me thinking...and i placed battery from new relay and it booted right up as if a brick never happenned..i started to really research this and found ways to prevent this from ever happenning again as well as finding out about the samsung overcharge "issues" .
Besides when i used the battery, it lost charge out quite quickly and when i did a little research on the batteries, i found out given the size the batteries are likely to be fake and that the best batteries are the stock ones. The big extended batteries are however a different story altogether though. Anyway, i'd charge them overnight once and see if anything happens.
Here's hoping to the phone not bursting and burning my house down!!:fingers-crossed:

a good example...i went from 6 am to now 8:30 pm on my extended and its now at 75% batterry....i only paid 30 with tax and stuff total for my extended and happy i got it...again though...a lower voltage and ma charger will cause issues with battery drain and charge as well...like lets say you used a charger from another android device that calls for 4.5 or 5 volts but only 750ma or 500ma.... in terms it doesnt charge the phone properly causing more workload and time for battery to charge properly
I bought the extended battery of mugenpower (2300mah) for Samsung Galaxy S3. I scratched To insert the battery. The time now is charging but the cover does not close. probably also'll scratch the cover.
Soon I will insert photos of the operation.
P.S.
I spent € 37 including postage
Mugen Power battery for s3 in Relay
I am extremely satisfied with the results, the battery life has improved considerably. Now I can get to the evening, with the old battery arrived at midday
I had to scratch the back cover to be able to close.
