Well according to Sony Customer Care Service you cannot unlock bootloader of Xperia C.
I emailed them the same query that whether we can unlock the bootloader or not and that was the reply that came.

I've moved from Sony Xperia C to Moto G3....and believe me..now I regret that I have an xperia...
The stock android is so pure and free from glitches, bloatwares...
And I wish we could unlock Xperia C's bootloader and port Cyanogenmod 12.1 for Xperia C...
But unfortunately we can't...cuz Sony won't allow us..
I am also Very sad about it to. I think If Sony had given us an update for atleast bottloader unlocking it would be great!!
Btw I am looking for a custom Rom to port in my XC but I cant decide wich Rom is good and bug free can u give me any suggestions for it?

I have Had a massage from Official Sony Mobile page from Facebook. Here is what they said
Hi Abhi. The latest and final version of software for this handset is Android 4.2, we therefore do not expect any further OS updates to be released for this handset unfortunately.
In order for your handset to allow the boot loader to be unlocked, it must fulfil a number of requirements. For example, if your handset has been originally locked or branded to a network operator, you will be unable to unlock the boot loader.
This is only available for certain models of handsets also. A full list of compatible devices can be viewed on the link below:
http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/supported-devices
If your handset is listed on the above webpage, you can check whether your operator customisation allows the boot loader to be unlocked by following the steps below:
1. Open the dialler on the handset and dial: *#*#7378423#*#*
2. Tap Service Info then select Configuration.
3. Tap Rooting Status.
In here, you will need to look for Unlock Boot loader allowed. If it states ‘Yes’, this means you can unlock the boot loader. If it states ‘No’, this means you will be unable to unlock the boot loader on your customisation of software. There would be no way to change this.

Almost every single time.
To check if you phone can be unlocked, follow the steps below:
First, you should confirm that it is possible to unlock the boot loader of your phone by checking the service menu. In your phone, open the dialler and enter *#*#7378423#*#* to access the service menu.
In your phone, tap Service info > Configuration > Rooting Status. If Bootloader unlock allowed says Yes, then you can continue with the next step. If it says No, or if the status is missing, your device cannot be unlocked.
mine:
c2305,16.0.B.2.6 S1 boot version:1278-4304,2.13.J.0.66
Bootloader unlock allowed says NO

No, it's not Mediateks fault as all other Mediatek SoC based phones comes with a unlocked bootloader out of the box. Sony made the decision to put their own locked bootloader on the phone.

You can unofficially unlock the bootloader from here :

Hi there
I want to unlock my bootloader and I tried through sony's website but I could not succeed.
How can I unlock it without sony's guiding website and installing Android Studio.
Any help plz?
Hello Billabomb75
First check if you can unlock your bootloader by entering *#*#7378423#*#* in the Phone app.
Then click service info and then click on configuration.
Under rooting status it should say bootloader unlock allowed to unlock the bootloader.
If it says bootloader unlock not allowed you cannot unlock your bootloader.

If you would like to backup your TA partition for warranty then check this forum https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292598.
The first thing to do to unlock your bootloader is to go to this https://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/unlock-yourboot-loader/ website and choose your device, then after clicking continue you will need to enter your email for a confirmation email and tick agree to terms and conditions and click submit.
After opening the link in the confirmation email it will ask for IMEI which you should enter in and tick the two agree to terms and conditions and click submit.
Now check your email again it should have the unlock code for your device.
Finally launch flashtool and click on unlock icon, then connect device in fastboot mode( if connected then disconnect phone from PC, power off device, while pressing volume up button connect your phone to your PC), now it should ask you for your unlock code which you can copy and paste from the email Sony sent you and then click unlock.
This should unlock your bootloader.
