APN doesn't update default settings - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi.
Please help me. I CAN'T USE MY MOBILE INTERNET
I used all my Vodafone data and I have decided to try a new company out, so I have transferred the number to Lebara yesterday and since then I'm struggling along with the customer service with setting up an internet connection on my 16 GB OnePlus One.
I have tried installing 3 different ROM's several times - Oxygen OS, CM 12.1 and BlissPop v4.0.
Before installing the ROM's I deleted the following: Cache, Dalvic Cache, System, Data. However when installing the different ROM's the log box showed me messages like "installing radio system/ ... / (...) already up to date" so I'm assuming deleting basically "everything" from the phone still doesn't get rid of some of the files in the system. I think that this is where the problem sits.
Although I can save my Lebara APN, it feels like it is not set to default.
Whenever I go into APN settings after freshly installing any of the new ROM's along with the GAPPS the 3 vodafone APN's show up which I have set up few months ago BUT THE LEBARA APN IS NOT SAVED.
When I press to reset APN to default it will again get rid of all the APN's that I would add and replace them with the 3 vodafone APN's.
There is an exclamation mark next to the GSM status icon
There is this message popping up every 10-20 seconds "Sign into network - Lebara". Whenever I click on it - a 10% bar shows up and doesn't progress anywhere. After around 30sec-1min the windows would just disappear and the message would pop up again etc. etc.
However if the windows is opened I am able to tap a 3-dot button in the top right corner and then select "use this network as is" this will close the window, the message will not pop up again and the H or H+ letter would finally show on the GSM status icon and the exclamation mark will disappear.
HOWEVER THE INTERNET WILL STILL NOT WORK - the browser would just timeout itself every DAMN time.
I think I should go back to the system files and maybe delete them manually and then install a fresh copy of CM 12.1, since it's the most stable out of all of the 3 mentioned above.
What do you guys suggest?

look at what network mode your opo is in, preferrably in LTE/WCMA/GSM
don't worry if the APNs don't get saved, you should worr if they get activated
btw LTE is not really available in germany (only fast 100mb/s LTE at vodafone & telekom), the normal 50mb/s LTE used by almost every provider is cannot be used by the opo because it misses the appropriate bands in the modem

[Q] Suddenly No Service??

Hi! Quick question. I have an Inspire 4G, rooted and running CM7. It has been fine for about a week, and most of today. I just looked down, and it says I have no service. I tried rebooting, and moving out of the building I'm in, and no dice. I checked the settings widget, and data is enabled. My co worker is also on AT&T and his iPhone has full 3G access. What gives?
Thanks!
EDIT: Here is what I remember recently doing. I downloaded a MattedBlue them, the newest one, and via dropbox, got it to my phone. I downloaded it, booted into the bootloader menu, installed it, rebooted. I applied it. I then went into the terminal, and renamed a batch of files that were missing extensions (/sdcard/roms/snes, none had .smc on them) with a for; mv; done loop. I then tried to go back to dropbox, and got a no service error, thought nothing of it, thought it was their system. Then I noticed I have no bars, etc. What gives? Was it the MattedBlue theme I downloaded and installed?
EDIT 2: I went to Menu > Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks > Network operators, and had to choose AT&T, but it's all good now. I wonder what flipped that off?
EDIT 3: It keeps kicking me off, saying AT&T is unavailable, after a minute or two of connection, then I have to manually connect again. WTH? Also, even though I'm connected, I can't open any web pages, etc??
EDIT 4: Well, It says I have full H network, I can send and receive texts / phone calls, but no apps (Dropbox, Facebook, Internet, etc) seem to have connectivity. Menu > Settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile Networks > Data enabled is checked...
EDIT 5 (sorry): Unchecking and checking the Data enabled box seems to have given me data back. I wonder if AT&T is being flaky (central Illinois).
I had an issue where my Inspire would no longer have service. I took the phone back to the AT&T store, they replace the sim card, they said they sometimes go bad, but that didn't help, they ended up replacing my phone.
I sure hope that's not the case. Unrooting and rerooting would kill me :'(

Im in Southern Illinois and my data just stopped working so I just reflashed to an older backup that I saved. I hope that solves the problem.

[Q] Mobile internet does not work after CM7 Flash

Hi fellas
Upon flashing my G2X with the CM7 nightly build 123 & 124, I've found that mobile internet no longer works.
On the stock 2.3.3 gingerbread rom, it worked - so I can confirm that mobile internet definitely works on my phone, paired with my sim.
And yes I am using the same APN settings as before.
After installing build 124, i bumped into the notorious disappearing APN settings and thus tried flashing build 123.
Build 123 saves the APN setting - but for some reason the mobile internet just doesn't work. The 4G icon at the top doesn't show but i can still send and receive sms and calls etc.
I tried a restore to the stock rom and mobile internet works.
Does anyone have any idea what i should do?
If you do that would be great
(First time android user here - so i may have missing something very simple... so blurt out every possible solution you know)
EDIT: yes i do full wipes before each flash as well as a cache wipe, dalvik wipe and a fix permissions.
Also realised that after turning on airplane mode for a minute and then back off, that the apn setting disappears for build 123 as well.
:/
never mind
got it to work. the solution makes no sense at all and the logic that i placed all my pride upon has been crushed.
If this helps anyone in the future, i may as well post it.
Here are the steps i took.
Connected phone to wifi and downloaded an app called 'APNsBU (ROOT)' (Search for 'apn backup' in marketplace and it should come up on the list)
Then i set some apn's which disappeared and opened APNsBU (ROOT).
Set an apn backup within the app and then press restore (this will reboot your phone)
On reboot i went to the APN list again and found the apn that i had insisted should work.
Went to 'Network operators' and selected a network that it found which somehow registered. (It wasn't even the same network as my sim.. derp)
Searched online for the apn settings on the network that 'somehow registered' and entered them in and saved.
Press the holy green dot for the new apn setting.
?
Profit

New Motorola Defy, Major Connection Issues

Bought a brand new unlocked Moto Defy and I'm having some WiFi and data connection issues...
To start things off, I cannot get any kind of data on this phone. I'm able to make/receive calls and texts with no problem but when it comes to accessing data, it's a total fail. I've added APN's for ATT (ATT MMS, ATT PHONE, AT&T PTA), switched the 2G/3G/auto under Mobile Network Settings, and I just can't seem to get data working. I get data just fine on my At&t Samsung Focus with WP7.
Secondly, I cannot connect to my WiFi router. I've reset the router numerous times, disabled WPA security, tried different security methods, and it just doesn't want to connect. The network occasionally shows up with great signal strength but soon after disappears. I went to the same room as the router and it shows up. When I tap on it to connect, it shows "connecting" and then "disconnected". I also get a WiFi symbol in the upper left hand corner with a question mark over it.
And to top things off, I can't seem to format my WP7 memory card so I can't even install any apk's or ROMs. For some reason, the 2GB card that supposed to come with this phone wasn't even in the box!
Any ideas? Starting to get frustrated, this is my first android phone (3rd android device, first 2 were tablets) so I'm eager to mess with this thing.
Uploading a short video showing the WiFi problem.
Thank you so much!
Also, running 2.2.2

So I've installed Cyanogenmod 7 and was able to get to the band settings but when I select USA Band, it says "Set [USA Band] Unsuccessful.
I found a working bp_nvm_default folder for ATT, replaced original with that, set permissions, and nothing has changed.
I am at a loss of what to do now. And after installing CM7, I have no signal what so ever.
Please!!!! Any ideas?!?!?

No Signal

Hi,
I have a 32GB Nexus5 with Android 4.4.2. It was rooted. Last night all of the sudden the phone froze up on me and when I turned it off and back on it had deleted everything in the phone and just booted up as if the phone was new (Hard Reset maybe?). That was weird. But once it booted up for some reason my phone can't find any signal. It just has a blank signal icon on the top right corner. I switched sim cards with a few friends and its not the SIM Card. I added the APN Settings for my carrier (Straight Talk) and still nothing.
It's the first this ever happened. Today I flashed back a stock 4.4.2 image to my Nexus5 and set up the phone again but still can't get any network coverage. It's as if the antenna or something got damaged out of the blue.
I'm also including screenshots of the home screen highlighting the blank signal icon and screenshots of the Phone Status page that highlight that the mobile network is unknown and other information.
If anyone has any idea what this could be, please let me know

Have you gone into the carrier menu and checked the settings are right?]
dial
*#*#4636#*#*
turn the radio off and put your settings the way they should be depending on your service and carrier
select the band option and put it to the country and then save restart radio and reboot.
If this doesnt work then perhaps the files that contain the IME (i forget what they are called) blew out.
When I had my nexus s I kept a backup of them because it was pretty regular for people to accidentally delete them
good luck

So the IMEI number for my Nexus 5 right now is 0. I called Google and they already sent me the RMA Form and will be getting a new Nexus5. However, I'm still curious as to why this may have happened all out of the blue and what steps I can take in the future to limit the chances of this happening again?
Btw... I tried to turn off the radio and continually pressed the button but never got a confirmation that it had turned off.
Best thing to do is backup your efs. And make it available to be flashed

LG G5 Sim not detected only for SMS and calls

As stated I'm using the LG G5 H830 T-Mobile variant. I am getting 4G LTE data connection and everything runs well (Not in any WiFi range) Yet for SMS and calling as well as mobile hotspot I get "No USIM card' error. This happened after wiping the system and formatting data. Rebooted recovery (as per instructions on forum) then installed the stock firmware & Patch with systemless root and xposed. After this I did factor reset when just pulling the sim didn't help. Still nothing. I reflashed just the stock firmware with TWRP and SuperSU and issue is still happening. I've disabled rebooted and enabled the phone radio. SIM is in good condition and tray as well everything is SECURE and should be good to go.
I'm assuming a new SIM might be a solution. But I'm not counting on it and with Labor Day tomorrow for me I wouldn't be able to pick one up for 2 days. So here I am...hoping someone might have a fix. I know I don't have many posts on here. But I am an experienced user....just not with the more basic of problems I guess
Thanks!!
Has anyone else experienced this yet? I'm just curious...I had it fixed for a couple days. I've formatted data and done complete system wipe. Tried it resetting phone with the COMPLETE zip and TOT using LGUP. I'm receiving texts. Not calls. Not able to send either. I've activated new sim, didn't help. LG support just told me to look into warranty. T-Mobile needless to say just wanted. Sim card does show stock tmobile short code contacts but phone number shows as unknown. Hotspot won't work. I've tried setting the phone number to the sim. Nothing.
Anyways. I don't think I messed with anything, even so I've done everything to start the phone from scratch. Going to replace it, just more or less curious at this point and maybe others have had the same issue.
I believe I had the same issue as you and it was driving me crazy. I was constantly wiping data, system, etc but my phone kept giving the message "roaming indicator off" where it should show the name of the carrier. This resulted in me having LTE data and that's it- no 3g, no phone calls, etc. I couldn't even access the mobile network menu.
What ended up causing the issue was the network mode setting under wireless networks. Keep in mind at this point I'm running a patched rom which now gives more options in the network mode menu than the phone came factory with. I have an area at work where I have to switch to 3g, GSM/wcdma preferred network setting, because although I have full LTE signal, my connection goes dead. When switching back from 3g I chose the setting lte/CDMA thinking this would force my phone to stay in lte mode due to another area on an upper floor where the phone will constantly drop lte.
Anyways this resulted in my phone saying roaming indicator unavailable, the inability to make or receive phone calls, and either the mobile networks or network mode menus being grayed out. When stuck in this mode there is no way to put the phone back into the standard "GSM/wcdma/lte" mode. Even a complete reflash won't fix it. I even used lgup, which worked for maybe a day until it force closed the phone app and went back to roaming indicator unavail. I wiped every partition and even reflashed radio firmware. Nothing worked.
What ended up fixing it was using an app called v10 hidden settings which allowed me to access the network mode menu directly and re-choose the lte/wcdma/GSM setting. Incidentally on first access to this menu through the app there are only two network settings available. Once you choose a GSM setting, the rest appear.
I'm not sure if this was your issue but I hoped this helped because this took me about a week to workout.
