+1 at the beginning of phone number in about phone. - Huawei MediaPad X2

Hey guys I'm just checking to see if anyone elses phone have a +1 in front of their phone number in the status in about phone. Example: +1 345-123-1234
I think that might be cause a little bit of texting problems. I deleted the MMS file in the XML folder and it came back.

There are two or three mms_config.xml files, did you delete all of them? Once I delete them I never have a problem with "invalid recipient" messages.

Sprint Touch Pro 2 after 6.5 update issue...

I always have a 1 indication on my messages even though there is no new message. it goes away when i delete all messages but it returns + the true number of new messages when as they come in. it also shows up in the windows messaging as 1 new in inbox even though there is not. I have soft reset and cannot find a way to erase the damn thing. Anyone else have this issue or know how to help?
Just go to the mail tab click on one of the mail then click the menu option the click on the Inbox. From the Inbox it has several acct. just go thought them and form the mail you haven't read or delete.
it seems to be a winmo issue, i have gone into the registry and deleted the count and it returns, I have no unread anything anywhere and dont even have any messages at all but it always says "Inbox (1)" no matter what...
then try this cab put that in the window reg.
what does it do?
it replaces the internal massages to zero. I got this zip file few weeks ago when I having same issue.
u sure u sent me the correct file, thats not a cab nor is there a cab in the zip file, its a dll...
in any case the .dll does nothing for my problem...

Download mysterious files

I'm rooted and using perfect storm rom. Starting last night I'm getting mysterious files popping up in my down load folder. File start with token and bunch of numbers. Every 15 mins another file would appear. When I click in it, lib fail. Hope some one can shed light on this. I delete the files and it doesn't seem to interfere with functions of my phone
Sounds scary but hopefully there is some reasoning behind it.
My phone was doing that stock. Something to do with your email sync being saved as a file I think. Once I changed my email settings for mail size download to unlimited it stopped doing that. Check and see what your mail size limit is in settings, change it to max and then clear all those files. Shouldn't get them when your sync anymore.

[Q] I received a text message from a single digit number "1"... What the heck?

[Q] I received a text message from a single digit number "1"... What the heck?
The message is still in my Samsung Galaxy S2 inbox and contains this:
message size:32kb
expires: 9:04PM, Oct 25
Download
where "Download" is a clickable button and when I click it it changes to "Downloading", then after a few moments it changes back to "Download".
Any idea what it might be?
So you downloaded unknown software from a suspicious number onto your phone because it told you to?
Ummm... Quickly You need to pm me your bank account details and any applicable passwords plus personal identification information. If someone is going to scam you and get all your stuff it should be me, at least im honest about it, plus you have to now cause I asked you to.
Yeah, but nothing happened after, android didn't prompt me to install anything. Is it possible that it installed by itself? And how can such a message arrive to me anyway? Do you think its from an installed app??
My phone is 100% stock and not rooted. What in the heck is this? If its THAT easy to get a security hole, then that makes the market a scary place!

Whats the file name? go to where your phone stores downloads and find out. if nothing is there check running applications. Is anything running that shouldn't have been. can you provide a screenshot of the text message?
I'm shocked that you presses download, not knowing where the message came from. Were you THAT curious?
I hope nothing is going to happen to your device, but in the future, you might want to ask first before pressing anything.
Sorry I couldn't really contribute anything helpful to this thread, but I couldn't resist.

You're Fine
I think you're fine. I just recieved a similar message from 1. I think it was someone 'replying all' to a mass text because a second later that message from 1 disappeared and was replaced by an actual text. PS, I'm not an expert.

You might be right. Turns out my girlfriend sent a mass text and I was on the list. I ended up getting several more that day. None of which would auto download.

highly avoid
I would highly advise to stay away from and advise you to not download any type of text message that comes to you from an unknown phisher or source.
same issue sorta
see i have been getting texts like this myself it started just yesterday when a friend said he would send me a video of something (mms video) and so i never got it but instead a number listed as 1 had sent a message with no subject it was a download. i asked my friend to send again and it went through to his number instead just fine (hes using an iphone) so i just deleted the conversation with the number 1 and moved on but then my girlfriend sent a video to me and the same thing happened. im curious if its an error having to do wth the sending of video or if its something more concerning. (my girlfriend is on android) the whole thing here is taht they where sending me a video and that i got a message that i could download supposedly a video using the number 1 instead of from the person who said they where sending something(its concerning
Well that was rude. Way to be a ****
I've gotten that text message twice on two different phones and my phone auto magically started downloading? My phone is fine after every time but it's just so weird to me my recent message sent to me and then dissapeared

phone number formatting issues

Anybody know what might be going on here? Ill explain. Also wanted to note that I never had a problem with this issue until about three weeks ago. basically my contact list has two or sometimes three numbers listed for each contact one for Google and one for Samsung and what I'm noticing is that some are formatted like this (985)***-**** and some are formatted like this +1985***-****. sometimes when I send a text message by just choosing from the list quickly I'll send a message that no one will ever receive and I know this because later I'll get a text from that person and a new text entry won't show up with that person's name and picture just like the previous one. I've actually had a three-week run where I didn't notice it and just thought somebody was ignoring me for three weeks. I tried one of those number formatting apps but it hasn't seemed to fix it. Anyone have any advice or ideas in this area? Thanks

You'd probably just have to delete them manually and check if your contacts are syncing duplicates because they are stored on the sim, Google , and Samsung .... I'd just disable sync from the quick tab notification bar.

found a file called smartcall. Does anyone know what it is?

Hi, i have found a file called smartcall on my phone. When you click on it it goes to my Microsoft word documents. I've noticed over the last three or four weeks I've had notifications by e-mail that someone has tryed to get into my Microsoft account. I have no idea how it got on my phone or what its for?? A really strange thing happened to me on the 12th.Jan. Two friends of mine plus my dad were sent text messages of some photos of me that were taken from my CM security which takes snapshots of people trying to get into your phone/tablet etc. Well sometimes I put the code in wrong more than three times and takes a pic of me. Someone has managed to get hold of those pictures and sent them via text. Also there were a couple of map references showing where i live saying I need help!! Can anyone please tell me what's going on here. I have explained to my phone providers that it wasn't me who sent the texts. Even though it showed my mb number it wasn't me as my phone was completely broken. It's all very bizarre and scary.
