Then you won't be able to use the rom. You need to be able to edit the APN settings in order to use it on straighttalk. Being a former VZW and then a straight talk user the apns are required

I bought my i535 used and it was already on NE1. Thus, I have not made any changes to modem and bootloader. I tell you this to let you know that I have not read about what bootloader/modem options those with the unlocked i535 have open.
That was to lead into asking if there is an updated modem available that will not entail getting to the locked bootloader that I am on. The reason I ask is that for the i747, the AT&T SGS3, a fix to your issue is updating the modem. I have seen more than one reference to this solution.

Looking in settings i have the proper IMEI number but my cell number is listed as 000-000-1361, MIN is 1361, PRL is 1. what can I do to fix it? I tried restoring a nandroid but the result is the same. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Any one try Odin back to stock?
I have a similar issue and I have been going around and around with it without any luck. I restored my latest backup and I still have 000-000-3257 with a PRL of 1. I will try the ops recommendation and will report back.
Odin to stock is my next move unless someone else can think of something else to try.
Try clearing dalvik cache in recovery. Fixed it for me on AOKP. Had the exact same thing where my phone number was a bunch of zeroes. Still had service though when I hit the home button to bypass the activation screen.

I tried to remove the sim, and boot, and readd the sim and boot but no go. I will try it again but then I think I am going back to stock to see if that works.
Everything still works fine. No need to get worried......it just doesn't report your phone number accurately. Its not like it actually effects functionality. I ran it with an f'ed phone number for 3 days. Everything ran fine. Don't sweat it. If its a problem, wait until tomorrows official nightly comes out tonight and you'll be set.

My issue is it is affecting my functionality. My phone is not working and whenever I call out I get a generic message saying my phone is not active.
I restored a backup from when I first rooted. Now my phone number is listed properly and when I get into a 4G coverage area I can get data, but I still can't call out and it shows I am roaming when I am in a 3G area.

I was very unlucky and the dirty flash didnt work for me. However, I did have a backup of my IMEI and was able to flash it back to my phone.
I ran into the same problem after flashing 10.1... lost IMEI and stuck on roaming, had no backup.
To fix it i did the following
1) Odin back to stock
2) use this tool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1867442
3) reprovish the phone using this code in the dialer *2767*3855#
IMEI restored and no longer on roaming

THANK YOU!. I could not get the IMEI/ERI tool to work, but I did get *2767*3855# code to work. I had to roll back to a older version of the official rom (I think rolling back the radio would have been OK) but I am not up and working.

I flashed back to stock as well and then used the same number to reprovision. After that everything worked fine it fixed the roaming, incorrect number, PRL, and all. I never lost my IMEI so I didnt do that step. but if you flash back to the cm 10.1 before they fix the data it will happen again

So...I went ahead and flashed the Dec 24th official 10.1 release with data working. I flashed with TWRP and it went smoothly. I couldn't activate the phone because it was stuck in roaming. I tried what ever I could do but could not get out of it. So I resorted back to full stock from verizon locking and un-rooting. Did that and I also flashed a stock radio. Still cannot get out of roaming mode.
Any suggestions? Kind of in desperate need of data to get a working phone!
Thanks in advance. I'm sure this problem has come up among many of you.

I thought flashing "[OFFICIAL]CM10.1 Official Nightlies for D2VZW GSIII (12/24 Official Data Works)" was the latest one. How would I go about "fixing" the mobile settings? via the settings menu? I cannot access that menu if I need to go there. I need to get past the activation screen. Also I am not so sure on performing the four corners trick in order to get past that screen.
thanks

i just posted a fix topic for this but here this is how i got mine to work after flashing CM10.1 the 12/24
If you remove ur sim card and boot up and connect via wifi, u can then register and set up the phone. then shut down put sim card back in and boot up. go to system settings -> More... under wireless and networks -> mobile networks -> CDMA subscription and choose RUIM/SIM (NOT NV)

I didnt see a responce from here but ill do my best, flash back to the stock ROM using ODIN and you should be put back into the operating system still in roaming mode then you dial *2767*3855# as soon as you hit the # your phone will download a file and re-provision itself which will fix the roaming error.
I have been unable to send or receive MMS messages to/from anyone. Outgoing messages just get stuck at "sending" and I've had multiple people try to send me an MMS. I believe my APN settings are correct based on other threads here. Has anyone else seen/dealt with/have a solution for this bug?
I'm currently running CM10.1 April 8 Nightly off of a clean complete wipe flash, but I believe the problem has occurred with prior versions as well.

I saw some commits related to unicode encoding with the MMS app. It's possible (Disclaimer: I am not a dev, these are just theories) that these have something to do with the MMS issue. You could extract the MMS.apk from a prior build (where your MMS was still functional) and push it to /system/apps, rename your current MMS.apk to MMS.bak (just in case), set permissions to R-W, R, R, then reboot. If that works then we know there's an issue with the CM commits to the MMS.apk.
Had the same problem this morning. Turns out I had mobile data turned off.

What that means is that your APN's might not be configured properly. Compare them to the ones listed here. If that doesn't fix the MMS issue then we'll have to investigate further.

I've put in a trouble call with AT&T hopefully they find something....
So according to AT&T there are no network problems but my phone is not responding to push notifications from them. They want me to bring it into a "core" store to have it checked out (not going to happen on behalf of the rooting/custom ROM). I'm wondering if my Android ID#/device hostname may have changed when I did a full wipe? Although I'm not even sure that would have any effect on my problem. I'm just tossing out ideas.

If I were you I'd just make a nandroid backup of my current setup, transfer that (and any other important data) to either my external or PC, ODIN back to stock and head over to an AT&T store. Just my two cents. You can always re-root and flash a custom ROM again. If you'd corrupted something through flashing (not saying you did, just a thought) getting AT&T to straighten it out and then going custom from there might be your best option.

Sinnce AT&T uses the IMEI number as the ID for the device, that wouldn't be the issue you aren't receiving push messages. I agree with mrfeuss, back up the phone, flash the stock rom, and go have AT&T fix it on their end. Then you can re-root and install your custom ROM again. Better to have them look at it than live without MMS.

Just used Odin to flash back to stock. After the Odin reboot how long should it take for the phone to start up? I've been sitting on the ATT logo screen for a few minutes now.... please don't tell me I bricked....
Never mind, figured out my own mistake..... Always factory reset/clear data before flashing!
So tell me how screwed I am.
I had CM10.2 on my phone, then my IMEI changed to "0", and I couldn't receive calls. So I flashed my phone to 4.3.
Next right before I fixed the IMEI issue the ERI changed to "none", and put me in roaming mode.
Well I fixed the IMEI issue, but I am now stuck trying to fix the ERI, it still says roaming and does not pull an IP Address.
Is the ERI possible to be fixed now that I am stuck in 4.3?
I tried RevSkills it says, "subsys efs is locked", then I tried Samsung MEID Repair (but it locks up, I believe because I am using 4.3)
Any help appreciated! I will be heading to the Verizon store here in a few, but I'm sure they are going to say buy a new phone or something.
Well Verizon store was not helpful, they tried a bit and gave up. But reading more, I am starting to think I can revert back to older firmware because I did not OTA.
Does this sound right?
Because several times, with 4.3, I tried using ODIN to go to ICS, Well ODIN failed each time with a SW REV CHECK FAIL : Fused 1 > Binary 0...
[Quoting toeshot from another thread.]
The problem is that once you install the 4.3 update you cannot use Odin to flash a downgrade ROM even an official Samsung ROM. You will need to install a custom recovery then flash a rooted rom,

I'm going to keep trying things, because basically this phone is useless right now anyways..if I hardbrick it oh well, it was good while it lasted.
Still working on this...
So where I currently am, installed safestrap and flashed over TW Wicked Sensations. Still couldn't access the "subsys efs" because its using the ML1 modem...
Well I flashed over the modem G1, didn't work, tried G7 also doesn't work because they just take it to the "System software not authorized" screen where I am forced to reboot.
I really don't know now. unless there is a TW somewhere out there that lets me switch modems without it bringing up the "System software not authorized" I am stuck forever roaming.
Thanks Odin for letting me flash 4.3 onto my phone without warning me I could never go back. :good:

Even flashing the stock 4.3 odin file locks it... There is an odin file with the MF1 BOOT CHAIN so it won't lock it, but its too late. Plug it into the PC and run the install helper to reload the totally stock 4.3, then call verizon and tell them that since the OTA came, your phone is always in roam mode. They should replace it.

Yea the problem is the IMEI and ERI both exist in the EFS, so that is what you would have had to backup..It can still be fixed though. Couple of links for you here:

Software Required/Procedure
So this is the part I screwed up with after finding those links, I immediately flashed to 4.3 to fix the issue, don't do that. Flash it to like ICS ( anything lower than 4.3 ) and then do the procedure part.
Also you can find your IMEI on the sticker under the battery.

After exhausting all possibilities this seems like what I will have to do, its kind of disappointing because my phone is in excellent condition, I may just sell it on ebay for parts or something.
But can you riddle me this batman, even though its says I am roaming, I'm not right? So can I just use my phone like normal?

I have watched these videos but the part that keeps hanging me up are the commands that they have you dial. I put them in and nothing happens. If I hit dial it goes nowhere.

Same thing was happening to me...when I was in CM10.2. I would try the first command to enable Diagnostic Mode / Qualcomm USB Settings. and it would do nothing. I am fairly sure you have to be on a stock ROM for this to work. Also when you dial the commands, after you hit the last number it will perform the operation, you never have to actually press dial.
I saw people posting a bunch of different numbers to try that would bring up the Qualcomm Settings. But I can't really tell you which one you need because I'm on 4.3 and its a different number. But on 4.3 its called ( Enable DM Mode ). Good Luck! :good:

I was able to flash a stock room, use *#0808# gain access to the menu, etc and got my IMEI restored. I have data but am still unable to make/receive calls. Two things I noticed that might be the issue. The IMEI SV is 00 and when I go to Access Point Names that list is blank. I did reset to default but that did not repopulate them.

My IMEI SV is also "00".. but I can still make/receive calls. It sounds like you may have set your IMEI wrong. But I'm not sure, couldn't really help you past this, because I am no expert, like some of the people on here.

What do you show in your APN settings? I noticed at one point before I had my IMEI restored I had a bunch of different choices there... now it is blank.
Only have one APN, says "LTE - Verizon Internet"

I cannot seem to get my APN to save. I have entered it manually to match my wife's S3 but it will not save it. Going to Odin back to stock I guess.
well, i am kind of sad that there isn't a fix for the eri missing. Eff you verizon and samsung for making stuff we enjoy difficult!!
Hi All.
I've got a Samsung Galaxy Relay 4G using PhilZ Touch 6 recovery and cm-11-20140518-NIGHTLY-apexqtmo. I have an AT&T sim card and when I try to input APN settings for AT&T nothing saves. I've tried everything including 5 ROM's, all running KitKat emulations. I read that Android 4.0+ will not allow you to change APN settings, but is there some workaround. I've also discovered it disables APN apps from accessing APN settings.
I've also tried to flash 10.2 but I get Status 7 errors every time I try. I've followed instructions on removing access commands from the updater-script file and re-zipping, but it also aborts.
I've called *#*#4636#*#* and it doesn't look like the phone sees the SIM card, but maybe that's due to the APN settings? It won't even call let alone send/receive data. I've tried 2 different AT&T SIM cards with the same result.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Actually it turns out I couldn't see the IMEI number either, so I returned to stock ROM and could then see the IMEI. I then flashed CWM 6.0.1.2 and CM 10.2 and was able to then set the APN. I'm still having trouble getting phone and data connection over the cell, but at least it now shows some bars. Thanks for replying, though.
My connection issue was a problem with the SIM. It's all working properly now.
