APN disappear; Status 7 tying to flash 10.2 - Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G

Hi All.
I've got a Samsung Galaxy Relay 4G using PhilZ Touch 6 recovery and cm-11-20140518-NIGHTLY-apexqtmo. I have an AT&T sim card and when I try to input APN settings for AT&T nothing saves. I've tried everything including 5 ROM's, all running KitKat emulations. I read that Android 4.0+ will not allow you to change APN settings, but is there some workaround. I've also discovered it disables APN apps from accessing APN settings.
I've also tried to flash 10.2 but I get Status 7 errors every time I try. I've followed instructions on removing access commands from the updater-script file and re-zipping, but it also aborts.
I've called *#*#4636#*#* and it doesn't look like the phone sees the SIM card, but maybe that's due to the APN settings? It won't even call let alone send/receive data. I've tried 2 different AT&T SIM cards with the same result.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Actually it turns out I couldn't see the IMEI number either, so I returned to stock ROM and could then see the IMEI. I then flashed CWM 6.0.1.2 and CM 10.2 and was able to then set the APN. I'm still having trouble getting phone and data connection over the cell, but at least it now shows some bars. Thanks for replying, though.

My connection issue was a problem with the SIM. It's all working properly now.

[Solved] edge/gprs

When I first set up my Infuse (stock froyo), mobile internet (EDGE/GPRS...we don't have 3g/4g here yet) was working. Then I rooted and flashed CM7 on it. The net would still work. Then one day, it just freaking stopped working. No APNs were changed, no radio bands were touched...the carrier didn't change anything...it just stopped. I reverted it back to stock using GTG...and double confirmed the APN settings from the carrier. And it still won't work. Restart, flight mode...I've done it all. Many times over. I've tried different APNs from the net. Nothing works. I'm stumped. So is the carrier's tech support
Any idea?
Try changing ROM. Do a clean install, and do not restore any system data or apps.
I went through multiple cm7 builds...with complete formatting of /system and /data and /cache. Then odin'd 2 stock builds
Could it be a sim issue?

hmmm.... good idea... i'll try the sim in another phone to see if net works
Turned out to be a network issue. They did some backend fixing and resetting. I got the net back.

APN issue after flashing Bricked

I flashed the new Bricked kernel today and it messed up my APNs. I can't change the MCC and MNC values. If I try to the APN won't be saved.
I already superwiped and reflashed everything even with different kernels but the problem still exists. My phone shows it's roaming and I don't have data access.
Now there's even a carrier list that wasn't there at all before.
Someone suggested I should remove market access emulate on boot, but I don't know how to do it.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks!

No that does not help. I was on the 3.33 firmware and I even reverted back to 3.32 and an older radio to try my older setup and see if that fixes it.
I still have no data Phone still roaming
Now I even flashed an old stock GB rom with old Hboot and old radio.
For some reason the phone still thinks I'm using Vodafone...
I tried APN Backup & Restore. When I backup the APNs it saves a xml file with a lot of carriers in it. Way more than what the phone shows
in the system. It only shows the Vodafone ones. Heck, I even have a carrier named "My Dads Internet" which is also weird.
I really have no idea what to do now, should I get a new SIM card?
Please help!
Well... 2 days of trying to figure this out. No solution.
Maybe my SIM card thinks I'm outside the country. I guess I'll have to call my service provider and see if I need to get a new SIM.
:/
Wow this is terrible ! I've never heard of this happening! I would definitely call carrier and see if you need a new sim card or what can they do on their end to fix the issue, especially if none here knows a fix or responds. I just wanted to wish you the best and let you know I really hope your issue gets cleared up soon! Please let us know what happens and what the fix was ok. Good luck to you!!

Thanks, I just put the SIM card in a friend's phone. Same problem, so I'm glad to know the problem is with the SIM card and not the phone. That's definitely a relief.
I'm calling my carrier!
Just to close this thread in case anyone is suddenly having this problem, you either installed Market Access or Market Enabler or your SIM card is just not working correctly.
My problem was the SIM card, I got a new one from my carrier, everything is working again

Signal / Sim issue?

Hi Guys,
Strange problem that has me a little stomped and nervous..
Basically I was on the one plus one official forums and found a thread talking about how much better 25R is when it comes to battery life.. I have a brand new Oneplus one that is is / was on 44S.
In this thread they linked to xda for the rom, it was just a stock 25R rom that was made a flashable zip. Well I figured what the heck might as well try it, made a nanoid backup and titanium backup, wiped and flashed away.
Well as soon as I booted into 25R I noticed I had no signal at all, like nothing. So then I set up the system a little figuring whatever just need to reboot I guess.. Still nothing.
I then pop out the sim card and notice now the "No sim card" icon displays then disapears over and over.
I reverted back to my nanoid and still my sim card issue persists.. Nothing I seem to do restores my signal, I have flashed multiple modems etc..
Has anyone ever heard of this? I find it very hard to believe I some how developed a hardware problem the same exact time I flashed 25R.. sure as hell seems like a hardware problem though.
*** Edit I tried one more.. on the Android Developement area there was a stock rooted 44s with a zip that has 44s etc.. modem etc.. I flashed this file - even though I already flashed another 44s modem zip.. Seems to have given me back my signal and sim detecting abilitie.. Thankfully..
I don't know what triggered this, this is the thread I got the 25R zip from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-one/general/rom-xnph25r-cm11s-zip-t2820008
Teach me to flash anything while at work without access to fastboot.
I had this problem aswell, actually still have it whenever i flash a new rom.
The thing you have to do to get your signal back is changing your preferred network type in Settings > Mobile networks.
Mine has no option ticked standard, so i had to manually set it to 3G which solved my problem.
Tell me if it worked for you!

Yep. You need to do that as suggested "......... in Settings > Mobile networks....to 3G " / 4G / LTE depending on your Carrier/Network......:good:

I dont know what caused this problem, i think it started after i flashed ColorOS, so maybe that flash has overwritten some important files, i dont know.

[Completed] [Q] No SIM card after CM downloader update :c

I have a SPH-L720 from Sprint, it was running the 4.4.2 stock rom, the phone was unlucked and working under Movistar here in Mexico (i dont have idea of the method used for unlock the phone).
So, yesterday i rooted the phone without problems, installed de CWM recovery, made a backup of my stock rom, wiped data and cache and installed the cm-12.1-20150413-OPTIMIZED-jflte ROM (from this tutorial tinyulr .com/ooqye9s ), the install completed, i started the phone with no problems, proceeded to install the Gapps, and the phone was working good, my network and data worked (had internet, could make calls and send sms), but the phone drained the battery too quick and the camara had some issues, same thing with the dialer (i wasnt able to hang up a call, the red button didn't anything).
So i decided to download the CM Downloader app, search for an update and the app downloaded the "cm-12.1-20150625-NIGHTLY-jfltespr" ROM (i didn't saw or knew about the "JFLTESPR" part), the phone rebooted and installed the update, tha camera and the dialer problem disapeared but the phone didn't recognize the network anymore, it says "No SIM card". i tried to install the cm-12.1-20150413-OPTIMIZED-jflte ROM again, tried to restore the backup of my stock rom, but nothing works, my network s not working and i dont know what to do.
Please help :c
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. Check your apn settings. They probably are not set up correctly for your carrier. Go to settings, wireless and networks, more, cellure networks, access point names. Google yourcarriername apn. You can usually find the correct settings there.

thanks for you help buddy, apreciated.
It doesnt let me change my apn because the phone is not attached to a network :/ y think i relocked my phone for sprint, and maybe trying to unlockit again it will work, but again, im new at this and i dont have idea of how to do it
Well, you might have to return your device to stock and start all over using Odin. But first see your device's specific forum here,http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-sprint. All and specifically ask your question here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2374543. They are the experts on your device and will be off more help than I.

Then you won't be able to use the rom. You need to be able to edit the APN settings in order to use it on straighttalk. Being a former VZW and then a straight talk user the apns are required

I bought my i535 used and it was already on NE1. Thus, I have not made any changes to modem and bootloader. I tell you this to let you know that I have not read about what bootloader/modem options those with the unlocked i535 have open.
That was to lead into asking if there is an updated modem available that will not entail getting to the locked bootloader that I am on. The reason I ask is that for the i747, the AT&T SGS3, a fix to your issue is updating the modem. I have seen more than one reference to this solution.
