Give us more info. What are you flashing from (FROYO or GB)? Why KG4 kernel? Are you trying to change your modem?
This.. charge your phone to full then try and enter dl mode if its not letting you in you may need a USB jig if your on a Samsung device. I'm only assuming because Odin usually uses Samsung stuff from my experience.. otherwise need a lot more info

i was following the steps from this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1215748. I was on stock 2.2.1 and i was trying to flash cm hybrid gb. i was also using odin.
Will your ROM load?
i loaded the md5 on pda then i started it but it got stuck and my phone powered off, that's it.
So you have a galaxy s4g? Can you get into recovery with a full battery?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
yup i have a gs4g but when i try to enter recovery the same message appears firmware upgrade fail
Will you ROM load?
nope it won't load
Even though you can't get into recovery... plug your phone in and see if ODIN recognizes it.
You should try starting ODIN again obviously with your phone plugged in. See what happens.

If you are able to get Odin to recognize your phone, i would redo the whole thing again, maybe it was just a bad flash.
If it happens again, try re-downloading the kernel, and redoing it again.
What step were you on in the guide? IF you flashing the kernel should be step 11. Sounds like your phone ran out of battery. If you plug it into the wall charger does it charge?
i was in step 11 and my phone was 80% charged before i entered download mode. When I plug in charger the same screen pops up and odin doesn't recognize it now.
are you entering DL by the battery pull method? Odin should see it that way. I've had to try a lot of times in the past to get odin to recognize the phone but it always does.
yup the battery pull method, i've tried like 6 times but no luck
plug into a different usb port on the computer. close odin reopen it and try six more times.

If you can boot your ROM. And still on stock. Use this thread.
I was updating my Galaxy R to the STOCK Taiwan 2.3.6 rom, when there was a power cut at my place. My comp switched off, and the device did too. It gave me an error like "There was an error with the firmware update", and now it wont even start up
Even the GT-i9103 Screen wont show up.
How do i fix it? Did I lose my warranty? [I DID NOT TRY TO ROOT IT IN ANY WAY, IT WAS AN OFFICIAL ROM]
Please help?!

Do not get panic, First remove the battery and sim then replace the battery and try to switch it on and go to Download mode and flash the stock ROM...
If the above method is not working try this, Be careful if you are trying the below method...

Yeah. I tried that method. After sending bootloader.bin...My device is responding....but not properly. Nothing is visible, only light is coming from the screen when I boot it up.
You seem panicked man. CALM DOWN. Why are you trying to downgrade bootloader?
As I understand you need to unbrick your phone by entering APX and not reset the counter using USB Jig.

Firstly tell me these things in a clear & concise manner:
- ROM & kernel that were in use before you were flashing the stock ROM?
- Did you enable/disable (tick/untick) anything in Odin by mistake other than that was in the guide ?
- Does your windows show APX driver required when connected to the PC?
- Does you handset go into the download mode after trying to unbrick it using the method mj.vikram gave you ?
Hey there guys ive had my sidekick for about a year now and i recently tried to put cwm recovery on it, but i ended up bricking it which has happened before. So i did what i did before when i bricked it and tried to put it into download mode to use odin but for some reason it wasnt doing it so i had to put it into forced download mode which seemed to be fine and odin said it was finished. The issue is it wont come out of download mode now, has anyone else had this happen to them before? if so what did you do to fix it?
You mean you've unplugged it and pulled the battery, and it goes back into download mode when you turn it back on?

Good evening everyone.
I bought Samsung galaxy tab 7.7 GT-P6800 about month ago. It's been working fine, till this saturday. When i tried to unlock my Tab, device didn't respond. I tried to power it on, but still no response. Hm, the reason of this thing is only one - too low battery. So, i putted my device on charge (saw battery icon on screen). After 2 hours, I came back and tried to power my device again, but it freezed with this battery icon. I hold power button for 10-15 seconds and my device started to load, but it got freezed on "Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7". My Tab is rooted, but firmware is official.
What my DEVICE CAN'T DO:
* Can't load into CWM (freezing at "Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7";
* Can't Power on;
* Can't charge;
* Can't connect to PC.
What my DEVICE CAN DO:
* Load into Downloading mode.
Is it possible to restore my Tab? If yes, how to do it, using Downloading mode (Kies doesn't see my tab)? Please help.
Thanks for your help.

I feel sorry about that. Do you clean install your ROM? If you can now go to CWM Recovery, then it would be good. You can try factory reset in CWM.
I had the same issue this is when the flashed Rom is damaged.You need to install the originap Samsung Rom which can be bought from samsung or give your tab to a repair shop they will have the neccery things.

you need to make factory reset using cwm recovery... If you reinstall the Official Honeycomb firmware... you are safe to wipe using the stock 3e recovery... if you are on ICS... please go to download mode and install cwm... then factory reset...

Flashed CWM using Odin, but still can't access anything. I can only see two loading screens:
1. Freezing battery icon. (it happens, when i try to charge my tablet)
2. Freezing Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 sign.(it happens, when i just try to power my device on)
The only way I can power off my tablet is to wait untill my device's battery discharges.
I'm in the same situation:
1. Freezing battery icon. (it happens, when i try to charge my tablet)
2. Freezing Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 sign.(it happens, when i just try to power my device on)
Although I can boot into CWM 5.0.2.7 but I'm unable to successfully get a rom to work...
Very frustrating isn't it.
I'm thinking about trying this...

What firmware were you using on your tablet, while you were flashing CWM? Why I am asking it, is because i tried lots of different firmwares to install CWM and i couldn't boot into CWM niether with honeycomb, nor with ICS. And yeah thanks for your help.

I started with ICS stock but after my initial flash did't work I believe I wasn't really running any rom because it didn't work.
I then went into Odin/download mode (holding volume down and power).
once in I used the cwm-6.0.2.3-p6800.tar file and loaded it under "Bootloader" then I flashed that successfully.
to then get into recovery I hold Volume up + power (for a very long time about 20secs).
Once in recovery then you can begin the above guide to repair the sdcard.
Hope that helps.
Thanks again for your reply.
I did exactly everything you wrote, even installed original ICS firmware again using Odin. Flashed recovery, hold Power + Vol Up buttons for like 5 minutes, but f*** this, still didn't boot into recovery. Erh.. my device is broken forever.. No solution for all this..

How do you flash CWM using ODIN? CWM isn't a Bootloader, nor a PDA, nor a Phone, nor a CSC.
Thanks in advance, hope I'll get back my Galaxy Tab 7.7!
1. go to download mode
2. connect your device to your pc and start odin
3. put the cwm files on phone section of odin
4. flash awayyyyy....

Yaaaaay! Problem solved! My Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7. P6800 is alive again!
The problem was so easy, that i laught alot, when solved it. The problem was with micro SDcard. I used micro SDcard from my last Nokia phone, but Nokia's micro SDcard didn't approach to SGT7.7, but it approached ONLY by the size! So I used another micro SDcard, which I got when I bougt my Tab! Woohoo, i'm so happy now :laugh:
I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100. I had recently installed Cyanogenmod from CM Installer. But one day while I was flashing the stock ROM via Odin v3.09, the progress bar was stuck at factoryfs.img and later the flashing failed. On rebooting a message was displayed stating that the firmware upgrade has failed and to use Kies to solve the problem. Later the phone switched off.
After that the phone is neither booting up in recovery mode nor in normal mode. It is even not displaying the battery progress bar when charging. It also heats up drastically when it is connected to a charger or USB.
Please give me some advise on this issue so that my problem can be solved.

Try connection your phone on pc and check odin for any sign of connection!! also try if any connection Sound comes from pc
let your phone charge for about 2 hours (if there is a battery drain believe me there can be)
and then connect with pc!! if there is any sign of life!! try odin
