The link he gave you is for a xxkpq with 4 files.Flash all those files through odin and you wont need xxkpe.
On the other hand if you still want to install kpe first then go here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1004647
and download from the hotfile link given and flash the 4 files
then flash only xxkpq without repartition

good to hear. fyi for the future, only select repartition when using the pit file, and only do the pit file by itself. do not repartition just for pda, and do not combine pit with anything else when flashing.
since you happen to be one of the first "guinea pigs" for flashing the new set of files for KPQ, please leave feedback later
Galaxy S GT-i9003 Flashing to JPKPC
I'm in the UAE and have a Galaxy S GT-i9003 and I decided to flash to I9003JPKPH_I9003OJPKPC_XSG firmware.
I chose to follow these instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1004622
I downloaded Odin and all the relevant files but I stupidly failed to read ahead and flashed with the .PIT file when it was unnecessary.
I then tried to flash with the I9003JPKPH_I9003OJPKPC_I9003JXKP3_HOME.tar.md5 file in the PDA slot with Repartition unchecked.
My phone will not start, it just loops through the startup screens.
What is the best thing for me to do now? I still want to flash to I9003JPKPH_I9003OJPKPC_XSG.
PLEASE HELP!!!

i am having the same problem
I tried to update the firmware of two i9003 via KIES.
One succeed but another keeps restarting.
Then I have flashed several offical roms, flashed XXKPE twice but still stop at samsung logo.
what else can I do to save the phone??
When I wipe data in recovery mode there is an error:E:format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p3.
And before I update the firmware, when I took a photo, the photo disappear after restarting the phone.
Do these related to the problem?
When you flash the kpe, did you flash the pit file first before flashing the 4 file?

yes i did.
first I wiped data and cache.
I flashed pit file with re-partition.
then flashed those 4 files without re-partition.
and waited until the phone went to recovery mode automatically.
wiped data and cache.
Then took out the battery to turn off the phone and put it back.
and flashed 4 files again.
Was I doing anything wrong
You cleared data and cache and let it startup fully before you pull out battery?
Sent from my GT-I9003 using xda premium
yes
but the error E:format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/mmcblk0p3 appeared
i to had the same problem
just did a clean flash and used Amit bagaria's Universal root

Need help just making sure

Hi, this is my first time rooting and installing a custom rom onto my phone and I just wanted make sure I didn't forget anything of do anything stupid...
Alright so I have a SG3, the Videotron Variant on 4.3 stock rom
I downloaded the drivers for my phone, am using the USB cable, and have installed Odin on my computer.
I followed this post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1771687
and I downloaded the "Videotron image"
my following steps would be to
"Extract the root66 tar file from the .7z file you downloaded.
Put phone into download mode [ with phone off, hold vol. down + home + power ], connect to computer and open Odin.
once in odin click the PDA field and select the root66 tar you downloaded.
Leave Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checked.
click start and
when done let phone reboot."
and third of all, i'd install ClockworkMod recovery then grab Rom Manager from the Play store and in the menu select to install ClockworkMod Recovery and then install a custom rom from there
Am I missing any steps? For example I was reading about the OTA update section and I didn't understand anything...
Thank you!
Hey, i am no expert but i can tell u one thing a lot of things happened with me when i tried to flash through odin. All sorts of error popped up and i had to search the internet for 2days to get it solved. Hence i would advice you to not go through odin. For custom roms i dont think you have to be rooted. I flashed my gts6102 via cwm my first time and i dont think i had rooted it before hand. Try to look for a flashable zip file for rooting and flash it via cwm

Don't you need a battery pull?
Try Framaroot and then install rom manager and load cwm from there.
Hey, i went into boot loop after an odin flash and got "invalid argument" error since my data partition could not be mounted. I found a zip file to flash via cwm recovery that install superuser.apk and the su file in bin from xda. So i have recovered from the odin problem and have a custom rom xduosv3, rooted and running currently on my gt s6102

Bricked my SM-G920F

I flashed a bootloader and modem from one of the roms here and after that my S6 will no longer get past the Samsung Galaxy S6 screen, it just repeats from there. I can't get into recovery mode, only download mode.
I tried flashing stock firmware from sammobile but it still doesn't work, won't get past sboot.bin before failing.
HELP
I wouldn't worry too much. I brick my phone all the time Which rom was loaded. What are you trying to do?

Try THIS firmware, it will work;
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/66009/G920FXXU3DPBG_G920FOXE3DPAD_SER/
Delete everything from .tar file except system.img and boot.img(You can also leave sboot.bin if it works) and reflash Your phone. If that doesn't work try reflashing with .pit file. Aaand if it still doesn't work. Boot into recovery->factory reset->odin reflash of system.img+boot.img with .pit file.
Small guide:
1. Boot into recovery mode.
1a. Do a factory reset
2. Reflash the stock rom using only system.img and boot.img files(optionally sboot.bin too).
3. If still nothing works. Google "pit file g920f" and download it.
4. Flash like in step 3 but including .pit file.
If You have any other questions. I would appreciate a odin flash log .

as I've said, I can't go into recovery mode
Then ignore step 1 and 1a. Or You could try and boot into odin mode. And where You have options to reboot or go into downloading mode. Just press the vol down to reboot and immediately hold vol down+home+power and it should boot too.
Try going into recovery mode again then wait at least 3 to 5 minutes after the droid falls over. That should take you to stock recovery mode. From there you can do a factory reset.

The zip you downloaded from sammobile can only be used with Odin. You can't flash that in recovery. Download Odin on your pc and be sure to enable usb debugging in settings. Move the zip from sammobile to your pc and extract the zip. You should have one file that extracts from the zip. Boot your phone into download mode and plug it into your computer, open Odin and you should see a connected device. In the AP slot of Odin open the file from the zip and let it confirm your md5. After it verifies the md5, open options and turn off auto reboot. Turn on bootloader update and F Reset time. Flash the file and once it completes hold the download mode buttons until the screen turns black. Now you MUST BOOT into recovery TWICE. After the two recovery boots it should boot back to stock.
DUH. I am on pain meds, and was not even thinking that all files from Sammobile are for Odin. Thanks very much Metabolic, and thanks for your hard work as well
