[Completed] Phone not starting up after doing "Clean to Install a New Rom" from CWM recovery. - XDA Assist

Phone not starting up after doing "Clean to Install a New Rom" from CWM recovery.
Hi all,
I am using Micromax A106(8Gb) phone. Some days back I rooted my mobile phone and installed a custom rom. Two days back i was getting some difficulties with that rom so I decided to reset m phone or to install a new rom. I selected option "Clean to Install a New rom" option from CWM recover.
The process got completed successfully. Then I tried to install a new ROM. The Installation is failing with error :
========
script aborted: set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed
Error code 7.
==========
when I press the power button then It shows the Micro max logo and then again it restarts.
I followed some steps given in the video tutorial "ww w. youtube . com/watch?v=h5QbsUsQx70" to remove some ascert entries from file updater-script under "META-INF/com/google/android" but still I see the same issue.
I am able to open the CWM recovery mode.
Help me in fixing this issue.
Thanks,
Anurag Kumar

Hello and thank you for using XDA Assist
Error 7 usually means the rom you are trying to flash is not compatible with the bootloader your device has.
I would suggest downloading the original rom you had flashed and try flashing that.
But I would also suggest following up in the device forum here http://forum.xda-developers.com/unite-2 In most cases you have to flash the phone with the latest bootloader or in some cases downgrade.
Good Luck

I have deleted the assert lines from the ini file on the update zip but im still getting the error? any help would be appreciated....
Some nightly's don't install unless your running cm11 already. They are updates.

I just had the same problem.
Try getting a newer recovery. I just used CWM 6.0.4.7 and it finally worked for me.
Hope this helps
Status 7 error fix is just to flash a newer recovery, Go ahead to Android-Andi Recoveries thread and download recovery
As @Hassan 4 said, go to @Android-Andi's recovery thread. I'll add that TWRP (also in that thread) is really user friendly and easy to use touch interface.

[Completed] taoshan - twrp - installing cm12 failed - Executing updater binary in zip

Hey guys,
I spent all day to find a solution but I failed.
To start off, I've got a Sony Xperia L (taoshan), which I flashed with CyanogenMod using Clockworkmod.
Lately I updatet it to CyanogenMod 12 and slowly but steadily I got pissed because the CyanogenMod Recovery which was automatically installed with CM12 couldn't update to the next version, so I always had to manually flash the "old" boot.img of the cm11 in order to get a working recovery and then flash the new Version of CM12 which again blew out Clockworkmod.
Because I was annoyed of this I tried to install TWRP hoping it would solve that. Of course it didn't went as smooth as in any tutorial which would have been installing the app from the Playstore running it and done, but I had to flash it in the end.
So now TWRP "works". But it couldn't install the latest CM (a couple of hours have already passed, so I don't remember what the error message said or wheter there was a message at all)
Somewhen I did a full wipe to solve something but obviously it didn't work.
At some point I gave up trying to install the latest version and I started trying the Version I had running before. Luckily I still got the .zip of that very Version I flashed a couple of days ago using CWM, which means this .zip does definitly work!
But the sideload of TWRP does not work. The command promt says:"device not found" , while my Xperia L says waiting for input.
So I extracted my Micro Sd, plugged it into my PC copied the "Old" boot.img, that had CWM PLUS the .zip I intend to install and a .zip file with gapps I knew I had to install after the CM12.
After the transfer I repluged the micro sd back into my device and tried to install the CM12 ... .zip directly from the sdCard.
Well for a few seconds it looked like an installation process but then my phone directly rebootet TWRP without installing anything.
Then I tried moving the .zip onto the internal storage and install it from there.
There it says: "Error executing updater binary in zip..."
At that point I had enough of TWRP and tried to go back to my old method... Means
- turning the phone off
- extracting the boot.img from cm-11-20140827-NIGHTLY-taoshan
- setting my phone into fastboot by pressing volume up and connecting it
- open a commandprompt at the folder where fastboot.exe lies
- use fastboot flash boot "path to boot.img" to flash CWM onto my device
- use fastboot reboot and then volume up at the purple light to go to recovery, which should be by then CWM
And I saw a nice blue logo of Team Win Recovery Project and I wanted to cry...
So in Summary I searched a lot of Sites for a solution but didn't find a single one to solve one of my Problems...
For the lazy ones:
- I cannot use Sideload because the commandpromt doesn't recognize my phone... however it did when using CWM
- I cannot install it from my SDCard, because it reboots without doing anything
- I cannot install it from the internal storage because "Error executing updater binary in zip
- I cannot use CWM because if I flash the boot.img that brings about CWM nothing happens and I still have TWRP
Well I am at the end of my knowledge and I truly hope one the answers I get here work out.

[Completed] Soft bricked my phone while Porting new ROM.

Okay... So i'm using my dad's old Canvas Knight which is a mtk 6592 device. It had many viruses and I tried factory resetting it but didn't do any good. So here's what i did next. There were no good custom ROM's for my device(or any at all) so I looked for porting some other ROM. I found this website mtkroms dot com and saw many users were using this guys guide to install other custom ROMs. I made a port for myself for this rom :-Lollifox V6 for mt6592 . At first I was unable to install it because of a status 6 error but I got around it googling stuff. Now when the ROM Successfully flashed and after rebooting my phone its stuck at the bootlogo. If I press the power button it just reboots and gets stuck at the logo again. Next I opened CWM again and tried to usb mount my device so I could install the stockrom but again it gave an error(something like unable to load ums file or something). same happened when i tried to mount sd card. I also made a mtk Droid tools backup for it. I tried to install it using sp flash tools, it started successfully but the whole process just took about a 5 seconds. rebooted my phone again, only now the old boot logo was back and the phone was stuck again at the boot screen. PLZ help....
PS:- I Backed up almost everything before the whole process also I can access my internal sd card if choose the install from internal sd card option in CWM.
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. It's very common when trying to port a rom to get into a bootloop if the port has some errors in it. What you most likely need to do is either restore your nandroid in your custom recovery, if you have one, or return your device to stock and start over. There isn't a forum for your device on XDA but I did find this where others with your device may baa able to help you, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2623192

Hey!!
Thanks for replying. So I tried to restore my nandroid in CWM but it gives an error saying "E: Can't mount /sdcard". As I mentioned it earlier I tried to restore my StockRom using SP flash tools but the whole process took 5 seconds to complete. To no surprise It was stuck again at the bootscreen. The only diffrence was that this time the old bootlogo was back(the stock one).

[Completed] Can't install custom Rom on my Xperia miro st23i

I really want to install custom Rom on my st23i but when I do its always failed. (With BL unlocked, rooted and stock firmware 11.0.A.5.5)
At first I tried to install cm11, on installing cm11 it says installation complete. But when I tried to install cm11 gapps, it says installing package failed. (I wiped data and cache) I rebooted my phone and it bricked( stucked on Sony logo) but I recovered it. ( I directly downloaded the rom and gapps to my device)
At second time, I tried to install lollipop Rom 5.1 ( I saw it on google) ( I wiped cache, data and delvik) but when I install it says " Installation aborted" ( no status 6/7 just installation aborted only)
( Directly downloaded the rom to my device)
And at the third time :/ , I tried to install HFS MATERIAL ROM EDITION FINALE but again it says " E: can't open /sdcard/download/HFS-MATERIAL-Rom-Edition-Finale-Miro.zip
(bad)
Installation aborted. ( Directly downloaded all the requirements to my device) ( I wiped cache, data and delvik)
ALL MY THREE TRIALS, I FOLLOWED CORRECTLY ALL THE STEPS AND PROCEDURE.
Can anyone tell me what's wrong? I'm thinking that the problem is on my phone.
And I got also a problem when I'm making a nandroid backup it's just backing up my system but when in backing up data its failed and the backing up stops.
Hope Anyone can help me.
Thanks in advanced.

Motorola one power stock rom request

Good evening /hello/hi,
i own moto one power device (Ram: 4gb, Version: 9.0 pie, MODEL: moto one power, qualcomm snapdragon 626) and i was trying to root my device..
i was successfully able to unlock my bootloader without any error, then i installed and flashed twrp.img(latest version) after flashing twrp i was trying to flash the magisk file which initially landed with a pop up msg (FAILED). After trying it several times i tried to sideload it using adb and was then finally successful and tried to reboot my phone. After rebooting the device i was constantly stuck in the bootloop for almost 20 minutes, i tried rebooting it later but was still in bootloop, so i realized the rom is deleted.
NOTE: The mistake i made was not backing up my device thinking everything will be done fine but i was wrong and landed with this problem.
I also tried to fetch STOCK ROM from forum and flash it, but those zip files was not working. Some say's "invalid zip file" and or "signature not matched".
I also tried to fix the signature error by turning off the option for signature verfication from twrp but still was unable to flash.
i am currently using a custom rom to work with it, but the stock rom was really very good and i would just like to use it.
SO IN THE END I MAKE A HUMBLE REQUEST TO PLEASE, CAN SOMEONE PROVIDE ME THE STOCK ROM SO I CAN FLASH IT CAN START MY PHONE.
