So not being very experienced at Rooting/Flashing Roms this may come across strange.
Here is a little background to my problem.
I had a rooted Note 3 running KitKat before I decided to flash to Lolipop. I downloaded the Vodafone (UK) variant of the ROM from Sammobile not thinking anything of it at the time (As I am on Vodafone) I went through the usual procedure of going into download mode running Odin as admin and then connecting my phone, adding the Rom files to Odin and then Flashing. Flashing started fine as it got towards the end it Failed on Hidden(Something).
I panicked didn't know what to do so I unplugged my device and tried to reboot. It didn't. It said something along of the lines as there is a firmware error and got stuck on that screen. Panicked some more, decided I would try to google a fix. Came across one which required me to flash CWM Recovery onto my phone. I thought I would try it, Once it flashed which went fine I was told too try and boot straight into recovery mode once the phone starts and reboot through there. I took out my battery put it back in and then went ahead and tried to boot into recovery which worked. Once on CWM I went to reboot the phone As I hit yes too reboot It took me to another screen where it said I wasn't rooted and if I would like to reroot. I decided to click NO and restart the phone. It got stuck on a boot loop, I did a factory reset and cache wipe and it booted into life. (And working fine so far)
So here is where the problem is.
I am looking to get root back to the device. I think I have a locked boot loader as I installed the Vodafone variant of the 5.0 Rom. Would I be able to Flash the BTU Rom onto my device without bricking it, and after that would I be able to root Via CFAutoRoot which seems to be the easiest way to so. Or could I flash with CFAutoRoot Straight onto this ROM.
Info:
BTU ROM:
Date Country/Carrier Version PDA CSC
2015-07-01 United Kingdom 5.0 N9005XXUGBOF1 N9005BTUGBOD2
ROM I INSTALLED:
Date Country/Carrier Version PDA CSC
2015-06-01 United Kingdom (Vodafone) 5.0 N9005XXUGBOD6 N9005VFGGBOD2
Thanks for any help in advance.

Hi everyone,
Right I have a serious issue with a 4 day old S6 from the UK bought SIM-Free off Amazon.
My phone was rooted but didn't have ADB or any sort of custom recovery. I edited the build.prop file for the RAM management thing, and created a copy back up on my storage. I didn't like it too much, so I copied the back up over the edited one and restarted - phone went into boot loop.
I have attempted to use Odin and flash a stock firmware ROM (had to settle for a H3G variation because the XEU unbranded was off some download website that takes 10 hours to download). I went through all the steps with Qbking77's walkthrough with Odin and it came up that it failed at the end.
The phone then booted into the Emergency Recovery screen, and couldn't get back into Recovery (to do the Smart Switch recovery), and can only get back into the Download bit.
I've tried flashing it again, and no avail.
I seriously, seriously hope someone can help me out here, it's a brand new phone and I love it and I don't want to be left with a brick.
Thanks.
I was in the same boat, if you rooted and didn't trip Know, your best bet is the Samsung Store, they're all over the UK
Well an update:
After the third time flashing failed, I did a root via Odin which had previously failed, and it booted up, completely normal and set up the device as normal.
I have no idea how that worked - but it did. Probably tripped the Knox I think but it works.
Basically I wanted to try the sac23 edge rom on my flat gs6, i noticed it was a 5.1.1 rom so i updated ota and then rooted and installed twrp for 5.1.1 then I went to install the sac 23 rom and then it just hasnt booted since, tried with a kernel too and even factory wipe didnt work, then i flashed another rom that is the xtresolite universal edition, everything usually works except mobile networks so i flashed that to try to get it to boot, still wont it just hangs at the samsung galaxy s6 logo then eventually turns off, the charging logo doesnt even go to charging just the charging symbol. After that i decided to flash stock firmware, doing so i realized that i wouldnt be able to use the 5.0.2 firmware which didnt work, so i downloaded the 5.1.1 firmware and i have two, one ends in of7 and one ends in 0e2, both have not worked and im getting worried, i bought this phone because i accidentally destroyed my s5. so i had to pay like full price for this phone and reallyyyy dont wanna buy another pleasseeee help
Thanks
Edit: I have a sm-g920p and flashed a sm-g925p rom because i heard you can do so with a kernel
Try this?
Boot into stock recovery and factory reset / data wipe.
On computer at www.sammobile.com download the correct stock rom for youre phone and flash it from Odin.
Hello there,
Please forgive me if i posted this thread on the wrong place.
-I would've not posted a thread here unless this got serious, so i own a Samsung Galaxy S6, it's 1 year old phone, when i first got it, i used it normally like everyone else and had no problem with it, but my curiosity got me to root the phone, i still did not get any problem with it until i chose to add a ROM. I used NNE 5.1 S8 port and it was working well until it got my phone broken somehow.
-My phone started acting really strange after 2 months of activity of that new ROM, my phone just started restarting randomly and it got me worried, i thought it's an application problem so i first just factory reset it. It seemed it was not the problem on an application, so i chose to change my firmware to a stock one. I searched up recently on the newest firmware for S6 and i found out it's: XEF (France) , PDA (AP): G920FXXU6ERC1 and CSC : G920FOXA6ERC1 on 2018-03-22. I Downloaded 4 files: BL,AP,CP,CSC , and i found out about PIT on one of the posts in this forum (Filename: SM-G920F-ZEROFLTE_EUR_OPEN.pit).
-Before i flashed with Odin, i wiped System, Data, Cache and Dalvrik Cache. The firmware worked well but after 1 hour it started doing the same thing but now differently. It happend to me only 1 time that it froze up on an application, but i think that is just an app problem. The main problem is that when i lock my screen, i cannot unlock it anymore, it just freezes there until it restarts after a short period of time. After the restart, it just keeps going, restarts, asks for pin, restarts and so on.
I tried removing the sim card and putting it back in, did not work.
I tried Safe mode, still same.
Model of phone: SM-G920F
Current firmware: XEF (G920FXXU6ERC1)
Android version: Nougat (7.0)
If you can help me, or you know something about this problem, please repost here, i would be really grateful since this is my only phone
Ininstall twrp backup everything most important efs partition.
Install samsung switch and pray that it asks you to do an update. If not try to flash a diferent version of nougat for example November security patch and try again with samsung switch

How could samsung switch possibly help?
I did flash it with different versions already, but no luck :/.
I've been praying a lot for this lately but it is not working lol
Please Bump this!
try doing this.
1) go here: https://updato.com/
2) choose download 2 roms. 1 nougat and another marshmallow (to my knowledge, stock roms are one file. no more splits and unless otherwise stated... no need for pit)
3) first flash nougat using oden
4) try the phone for a few some time.
if after a set amount of time, phone works fancy and no issues present then it's solved.
if not... install marshmallow. then try again.
if all this fails then...
install nougat. as soon as possible afterwards install twrp.
boot into twrp and just leave it there. my twrp locks after a while and screen goes dark until user interaction (just like it's supposed to)
if the same thing happens then its a hardware issue... probably... (i have had my main board fail... kinda similar not similar issue... hope you dont have the same issue and that its just software related)
good luck.
In my case every time there was an update available it would download the whole firmware and by doing so you would get the most fresh and updated version. Also it updates every partition to match
I have hear a S7 wich hangs on white samsung boot logo.
The device is stock, no root and no custom rom.
The problems started on a failed update, it started to hang during use.
I made a backup and then tried to reset it, sadly i came no further then this boot logo after it crashed again.
I decided to enter recovery mode, when entering recovery each time i get a blue install screen of an update and each times it fails with an error.
Then i did a wipe cache and rebooted, same result, it stops at boot logo
Then i did a wipe/format factory reset (from recovery) and reboot, here also it hangs on samsung logo
Also it reports the following:
fail to open recovery cause no such file or directory
I even let the phone boot for 8 hours on the logo, it gets really hot but it does not go pass the samsung boot logo
When booting and the phone is connected by USB to my laptop i get messages that android rom is prepared and 1 later it is installed, but that is it, no booting etc.
I then entered download mode and used ODIN, downloaded the latest stock rom and try to flash it.
But here also i get each try a FAILED on the boot, even when i do no enter BL i get a FAILED, so only AP it fails also.
I tried now about 5 different stock rom versions and they all fail.
Have really no idea how to fix this, as mentioned the phone is fully stock, so stock bootloader, stock rom etc.
Anyone any idea how to get this phone up and running again?

Living in The Netherlands
The phone is free, not network limited but was last used on T-Mobile
I am not 100% sure, i believe Android 8
i tried: DNL-G930FXXU3ESA3-20190131134911 and EUR-G930FXXS4ESAE-20190218105256 and DNL-G930FXXU2DRC1-20180402094302 and BTU-G930FXXU1DPLT-20170117160813 and G930FXXU1DQAN_G930FFTM1DQAD_FTM

Your trying to flash old versions of the firmware, once the boot loader is updated you can't go back.
This is the latest version of T Mobile for the Netherlands (TNL), it's always best to try the firmware you were on first https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s7/SM-G930F/TNL/download/G930FXXU3ESA3/255865/
If that doesn't work this is the latest version of Unbranded BTU https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s7/SM-G930F/BTU/download/G930FXXS4ESAE/257466/
Also use Odin 13. Put all files in correct slots and use CSC not HOME_CSC
As far as i could see these are all android 8 and 1 android 7 firmwares, so they are not that old.
Believe the latest one is from January this year, i know the last time the phone was updated was last October, after that all updates failed to install OTA
The link you gave me is exactly the same version i used only without the branding, so i already used the latest one.
I tried to be sure the download from the link you given but with those download speeds (15kb) it is almost impossible to download these firmware's, i am not gonna take a subscription to for 1 time fast downloading and also i do not want to risk that i paid for a fast download it fails again....
So if someone has a download link which i can use and try an other firmware please feel free to share it.
BTW i used the last Odin3-v3.13.1 version, i cannot find a newer one.

Ok well you can listen to me or not.
None of the firmwares you are using are for your device, PHN is Netherlands and the BTU you are using BTU-G930FXXU1DPLT is on a U1 boot loader, BTU is now on S4 which is 3 versions above U1.
The reason you only download from Sammobile or updato.com is because the firmware is correct, reliable and not full of virus/spyware. You can also download direct from Samsung severs with SamFirm Tool.
So first off I would say I am average in the world of modifications, I know the basics. I used to run a stock Nougat rom with Magisk.
Being the clumsy fool that I am, I dropped my phone and the screen broke. I went to a Samsung service center and deposited my phone there for screen replacement and they decided to update my phone for no reason...
As my phone was rooted, after forcing an update on my phone a soft brick happened and they had to flash a new firmware which meant that I lost everything. Now I am running latest stock Oreo 8.0.
I tried these things to root my phone again:
(The first thing I did was flashing twrp through odin)
#1: Downloaded Magisk and a decryptor for getting past the locked bootloader... flashed them both using recovery (twrp works 100%), and my phone got stuck on the Samsung S7 - powered by android after a reboot from recovery. Waited for a long time. Tried a lot of alternatives on this method but got stuck..
#2 After I gave up on rooting the firmware I was given, I decided to go back on my old Nougat firmware which used to work flawlessly... so I had the nougat firmware on my computer but this time Odin gave me an error along with some red text on top right in download mode. I looked up the error and it basically meant that I cannot revert back to Nougat anymore (which is surprising as I could easily swap between Nougat and Marshmallow but I can't do the same with Oreo and Nougat)
Quote from a person on the internet: ''SW REV CK FAIL usually means that you are not flashing the most current released firmware version. Most Samsung devices will not let you downgrade. You have to flash what was previously installed or higher Android version.''
#3 I was frustrated. I tried using a last resort.. downloaded a custom rom which has root included called ''Galaxy Project''... Flashed it using twrp and got a bootloop for 2 hours. To get past the bootloop I had to download Oreo stock rom and flashed it using Odin. That worked.. I'm back on stock Oreo again... back to square one.
Please help out a stumped Android enthusiast... I have spent 2 days on this... but no solution works. My phone is not in danger of a hard brick as I can always revert to stock Oreo using Odin but having root would be nice.
I am having average experience, I know just the basics... please help me out and tell me what to do in a step by step manner.. I will try everything and report the findings till I finally come across a method which works.
EDIT: My phone model is G930FD
