I'd appreciate some help as these reboots are depressing. I will list the solution I've tried below
1. Soft reboot
2. Reset in WP8.1 ( Settings > About > reset your phone)
3. Hard reset using Windows Phone Tool ( Rolling back to WP8.1)
a. Factory reset
4. Reset after upgrading to Build 10536.1004
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
If reflashing didn´t help I´m afraid it seems like a hardware issue.
I had a very pleasent exerience with HTC support. They offer instant exchange - they send you a new one and you return the defective - contact them and ask for a swap.
remove sdcard and use the phone for a day or two without it to see if the card causes the reboots.
latest w10m builds worked fine on mine.

Hi There,
I have been having the Samsung Galaxy Sl for 2 months now and the software kept crashing. I went to privacy and opted for a factory reset. Funny thing is no matter how many times I do a factory reset the phone restarts, and installs all the apps which i personally installed again. This is not a google recovery problem where all data is backed up in google. But the apps just magically reappear even after formatting the internal sd in recovery mode and reflashing it to the latest firmware. I am at a loss. I got a shock that even after reflashing my firmware to the latest 2.3.4 JKPJ5 it still reinstalls apps such as AVG, the BBC News, Cool reader.. And even my old wallpaper again.
Steps I have taken:
1) Formatted internal sd
2) Used recovery mode and wiped partition and cleared cache
3) Did factory reset and even installed a new firmware.
I have done everything. Pls help. My home button is also not working and the all the corrupted data from my old installation also comes back
Even when I restart my phone, any new apps i install vanish and are again replaced by the old apps.

Thanks.
Funny thing is i tried the reset codes. And only some work. I tried the reset code *2627*3855# . But I get an error saying its a connection probelm or invalid MMI code.
Sorry bangalorerohan. But I am not getting any replies in the Q&A section. I will just continue here for now..
Tell me the method you used to flash the new FW! I will tell you your error!
The probelm began before I even considered flashing my firmware. The sd card will be unexpectedly removed causing forced closes. Did a factory reset using the privacy menu quite a number of times for a few weeks. It helped for a while but the problem will always reocurred though. Then suddenly, factory resets stopped working alltogether. The phone will delete new apps i install every time i reinstall them and reinstall apps which i uninstall every time i restart the phone.
I thought flashing the firmware will fix the problem. But even after flashing the old apps and settings keep coming back.
Here are the steps I used to flash.
1) Removed sim card and micro sd card.
2) Restarted phone in download mode.
3) Run odin and plugged phone in Usb port
4) Checked Repartition, Auto Reboot, and Reset Time boxes.
5) Downloaded pit files.
6) Waited for it to pass
7) Pressed reset
8) Took phone out from usb port, took out battery and turned on download mode.
9) Flashed PDA, PHONE, AND CSC files. By ticking Auto reboot and reset time checkboxes.
10)Clicked Start
11) Waited for pass and started again.
I even tried using the recovery mode to wipe everything but still had the same problem. Apps and settings still keep reocurring from the corrupted android 2.2
I have done everything and am hoping for a solution for this frustrating problem. THinking of reflashing to android 2.2 and sending my phone to samsung for warranty.

I think you have done everything correctly. Maybe it's a hardware problem because your sd card keeps unmounting. Have you dropped it? They best way is to send it to service center for repair.

reflashing back to froyo
Hey guys thanks for your help. but the problem seems to be related to the hardware. I am reflashing my phone back to froyo and sending it to get the warranty. But after reflashing there seems to be another problem. I cant receive calls anymore. But i can make calls..
I need to know if samsung can find out if I have reflashed my phone because I am afraid that my warranty will be void. Is there anyone with experiece regarding samsung warranty?

play dumb, dont mention you flashed, tell them you tried to update with kies and since then the FW is acting up, you can't make calls anymore etc
Interestingly... i have exactly the same problem. I have had this problem for abt 4 months now and i have tried everything (except sending it back to the repair centre). I don't think its a hardware problem but more of a bad flash somewhere in between.
i have been searching the net for ages for a solution... have yet to find any.
Hi all:
I've got the same problem!!
Has any one a solution? I'm crazy with this.
Why do i keep posting on threads that have already been resolved!!

Hello everyone,
my Moto G came finally yesterday. I immediately proceeded with factory reset -> upgrade to Kitkat v4.4 and tried to encrypt the device prior to installing the apps and configuring the phone. However, during encryption, i lost power source for a while (20sec). Moto has never finished encryption task and now, i'm not able to boot anymore. After booting the phone, after i enter SIM pin and then decrypt PIN, moto g just displays green android cartoon for a second and then hangs with blank little-backlighted black display. I can go to fastboot menu, however, none of the options (Normal, Factory, Recovery) works, they always lead to the same blank black display....
It looks that it's seriously bricked, anyone knows if there is a chance to fix this? Device has not been unlocked neither modified in any way....
Thanks in advance for any help,
P.
If it's Booting then it's not fully Bricked ...
Most probably the power cut happened during system read/write operation and has corrupted the /System or /Boot Partition, And I guess it can't be fixed easily .
But the good news is that you can take it to Service center and tell them that this happened all of sudden during update (you can skip the power failure part ) , and they will either repair it or most probably give you a new device !!!
So just chill and take your device to service center ASAP !

thanks for your answer. i just wonder if there is any other way how to fix it manually. I'm completely disappointed with this Kitkat encryption process. If the ecnryption would have been caused by the short power outage of phone even the device was fully charged, it's really shameful...
Anyway, I bought it from Amazon in US and it's not being sold yet here in Slovakia so not sure if the international warranty will apply or if they will be able to fix this model here.. Definitely will try to ask at least.
Issue fixed using Motorola great support - Only thing that needed to be done was to perform external reset by following https://motorola-global-en-uk.custh..._id/96459/p/30,6720,9050/kw/reset/action/auth
perfect, issue solved, gonna encrypt again
reset
Interesting bookmarked that link may come in useful some time.
I have Stock AT&T.
Android: 5.1.1
Build: LMY47XN915AUCU2COI2
Started booting since two days back. Bootes voluntarily. Tried;
1. Removing SD Card.
2. Safe mode worked fine so tried removing bunch of apps, still the same
3. Did Factory Reset in recovery mode by wiping data
Still boots after a while.
What could be the problem? Phone does not feel warm like heating up? Battery stays good for a day.
Had sent to Samsung srvc center for repair. Just got the email with below details. Anybody can decipher it?
Original Problem:
OPERATION SYSTEM ISSUE - PLATFORM / SOFTWARE - BOOT UP FAILURE
Problem found:
IF/CHARGING PORT - FWT - SIDE KEY FAILURE
Solution:
REPLACED COMPONENT
i have decided to do a hard reset for my Huawei Mate9, the device is having a lock password and i know it, after making the hard reset the system is starting up normally and asking for the password, i really wonder that i want to enter the password but the keyboard will not show up. i have tried many alternative way but no luck and device is asking me for the password and the keyboard has disappeared.
anyone had the same story?
Yes that happened to me. I then tried to factory reset the device again and it soft bricked (booted to nothing but a black screen) so I had to send it back to Huawei to be reflashed (sent Monday, got it back Friday so can't complain about the turnaround time).
That was before FunkyHuawei existed so you might want to give that a try. Either that or sideload a keyboard if at all possible.

thanks for you reply, but this should not happened, i can make a hard reset for my device when ever i want. Huawei is not like samsung that you can count on.
going now to the service center.....
I ran into this problem when factory resetting via boot menu on pre-release firmware.
I've factory reset the device under B126 via Settings > Advanced Settings > Backup & Reset menu with no issues.
How did you reset it and what fw are you running? Any similarities with my experience?

Hello,
Since June 2020, I have been facing erratic issues with my oneplus 7.
- Started with a reboot loop. Did a factory reset, things were ok for a day.
- After that the phone randomly reboots atleast 2-3 times a day. Factory resetted many times. With a hope that beta build may solve the issue, installed BETA software from oneplus. But no luck. Problem continues.
- Recently noticed that sometimes, all of a sudden my contacts disappear. Wiping cache or disabling and reenabling Google contact sync brings them back.
- Wipe Cache data doesnot help in resolving this issue of random reboots
- Occassionaly apps like Whatsapp, Phone dialer or Launcher crashes. Wipe cache temporarily resolves the issue, but it again comes in a day or two.
I have not installed any unauthorised apps and all my apps are from verified google play store...
Totally frustrated with the problem of the phone...
Anyone has any luck in getting a solution to this problem?
Try latest open beta
Thanks for the reply, but I am already on the latest beta
This is because maybe the last ota installed (before this problem started) was not done porperly. Try full reset your phone and flashing the rom again through fastboot or you can try going back to h2os (which is the main rom when all the OnePlus phones are made with then switched to o2os) and then switch to o2os which will be a clean flash. You can find the procedures in the forums. I faced your problem a lot because I switch roms a lot and tried out these which solved mine
