OnePlus One- Stuck In Bootloop With No Modifications - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Bootloop on OPO (no customization)
Hi guys!
Suddenly, my Oneplus One stuck in a bootloop. Some info: KitKat, no root, no custom recovery.
What can I do? I'd like to save all data (app, contacts, sms, photos, videos, etc.).
Thanks in advance!

It's possible that you have a corrupt persist partition, this is relatively common with this device. Only problem here is that you need to unlock your bootloader to fix it, and unlocking the bootloader will wipe all user data from the phone.

Not unless you can get the device to boot.

Unlock bootloader after root.

HI!
Planing on unlocking the bootloader and wonder what data will be wiped.
Will i still have recovery and root after the unlock?
Thanks!
Out of curiosity why would you want to unlock your bootloader AFTER you've gotten root? I can't think of a single benefit and you lose all the DRM stuff on the phone.

Yes, you'll keep both recovery and root because they are in system partition.
Data partition, including internal SD card will be wiped

I'm not rooted the device is locked with a password
I just have a way to bypass the password with a custom recovery mode but the thing is if I will flash now TWRP or CWM
I will have to unlock the bootloader and I don't want to do it ,
so what I want to do is just to flash somehow the recovery mode without unlocking the bootloader
and also there is anyway to check the android version ?

Well, if you only want to bypass password you don't need to root or unlock your bootloader. Try to perform software repair via xperia companion. It should reset your phone by reinstalling software and wiping data.

Hmm, the only way to flash custom recovery without unlocking the bootloader is to downgrade to Kitkat, get root and install recovery, but the problem is downgrading requires to wipe data

There are 2 methots to install custom recovery:
1.(Best one) Downgrading to kitkat getting root and then recovery, but here's the problem: Downgrading requires to wipe data, which you don't want to do. So this isn't an option.
2. Unlocking the bootloader and flashing recovery. Problem: unlocking wipes your data and you lose DRM keys, so also not an option.
Sorry but I can't think of anything more.
or try this one ... it's for locked/unlocked bootloader i tested it on my T2 Ultra and it works

It's not a flashable zip .-.
-your phone must be rooted and usb debugging enabled.
-extract the zip file "Z3-lockeddualrecovery2.8.26-RELEASE.combined.zip" to desktop or any other location on your PC/Laptop.
-run executable file "install.exe" and connect your phone... if you have SuperSu press 1 and enter.
now you have dual recovery mode
here's the main thread of dual recovery:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261606
Unfortunately the only available options are these, all this is to protect your data and make them inaccessible to the thief if you get your phone stolen.
If you've forgot the password/pin/pattern of the lock screen, just perform a factory reset, it will wipe the data partition (apps and their data) but it won't touch your personal files such as music and photos

yeah, you need to unlock the screen lock to give adb shell root rights :\
The user have been asking similar questions for other devices in the past. I suspect that the user may have stolen the phone and I do not think it's a good idea to provide further assistance to this user, as making it easier to use a possibly stolen phone is no good. If OP is any legit, he would know that he can restore the password using his Google account, and losing the password and recovery for 2 high-end devices at the same time is just fishy.. Just my 2 cents guys.

TWRP encryption problem

After i wanted to install Android P, i got a bootloop. so i wanted to go to twrp but now my files are encrypted and twrp is not asking for a pin or pattern so i can't decrypt my internal storage files.
Now the biggest problem is that i just came back from a family weekend and i made a lot of pictures, witch i can't acces now, and i really want them back.
Now i can't install a new os or anything ...
Can someone please help me! i'm really despirate
(sorry for my bad english)
Try downgrading twrp , night get it to ask for pin
downgrading is never the answer. In fact, that will cause this problem to happen. Now i must ask, are you temp booting twrp or is twrp installed to phone.
I got this when I temp booted the mtp enabled twrp the other day, although it still asked for my passcode and said description was successful. When I rebooted the installed (official) twrp it all came back....

Now i am booting from temp twrp, before that i got the latest twrp installed
Bringing this back up... Did booting from temp twrp work? Ran into the same issue.
Temp boot and use the usb c to pull ur data from the device to a computer. After that you can wipe and start over. Unbricking guide available in the help section
Having the same issue. If I boot using fastboot TWRP I'm able to decrypt data. I did that and flashed stock OOS and the same TWRP version (BluSpark) that was used in the fastboot. But the folders are still encrypted. It's weird how a fastboot can decrypt it but a regular recovery boot can't. Is there any alternatives available?
I'm in the process of backing up my data before I officially bite the bullet.

Only way i know to get rid of this by removing the encryption on the data is to Format the Internal Storage !

That's what I did in the end. I just backed up my media through fastboot TWRP beforehand. Beats having to use the download tool at least

Probably the best way indeed. I think i'm gonna start disabling forced encryption to stop these kind of problems.

Questions about Unlocking Bootloader

Hello, could someone help me with some questions please? It is more concerned with unlocking the bootloader and security so I am sorry if this isn't the right place, but any help is greatly appreciated as I come from iOS & Jailbreaking.
1) other than my data, what should I backup before/after unlocking the bootloader? maybe recovery and persistent partitions? and how would I do that, by booting TWRP from FastBoot before flashing it?
2) I am planning on flashing Evo X and I assume with the SafetyNet Fix zip provided I'd be able to pass SafetyNet, but what about Widevine? Will it still be L1 after unlocking & flashing Evo X? If not, is L1 permanently lost after unlocking the bootloader?
3) anything else I should know / do before I proceed?
Thanks in Advance!
1) we cannot restore Miui data to AOSP
2) After flashing many aosp roms, I never lost FOD and L1.(ask the question on the Evo X rom thread)

Hey, thanks for the response, for #1, I don't mean my personal data, but rather system partitions like the recovery and persistent partitions, I heard that the persistent partition stores the Widevine certificates, how can I backup those? And how can I restore them if needed?
Thanks!
Not possible
If you want to go back to Miui just flash the original rom with miflash in fastboot mode.
I have already done this several times without problem.

Honestly I don't understand, I don't want to go back to MIUI, basically I looked up online on Widevine, and it said the Widevine certificates are stored in some persist.img or partition or something like that, how do I backup that?
Or do you mean I do not need to backup anything? I can just straight up flash custom ROM without any worries of losing Widevine L1?

Evo x=google dialer so no call recorder

Currently twrp is not 100% functional, use magisk only for SafetyNet.
to avoid erasure or other problems on partitions.

Is it possible to recover data, if moto one vision throws an error "Cannot load android system. Your data may be corrupt"

Hi All, I'm getting an error ""Cannot load android system. Your data may be corrupt". I got this error after a restart of moto one vision [Kane XT1970-3]. No OS upgrades happened, Only thing which I remember was trying to update existing apps.
Is it possible for me to recover the data from mobile? Currently, Phone is stuck with the above error . I've attached the screenshot. Can Somebody from this forum help me with the steps to recover the data? It would be really a great help, thanks for help in advance!!
What the **** is happening with your screen on this image in first place?
Try to mount /data in custom recovery like TWRP and see, if everything is OK.

Thanks for the reply!! Currently, bootloader is locked. Is it possible to mount /data directory using TWRP on a locked phone? [or] DO I need to unlock first? I've not taken backup of data for more than a year. Phone is not heavily used, but I'm looking for possibilities to recover the data.
