The Nokia map app will be the S2's way of getting around.

gear S3 can make a pin on a map and you can see where you are if you have an internet connection
but i want to use only the integrated gps an see the coordinate where i am
anyone known an app for doing it??
tia giano
no one knows?
or it is not possible?
Hi
Definitely possible, but will require someone to write an app. The default returned data is Lat/Lon, it would be necessary to convert to the grid system used in your country (eg OS-GB for UK). Never done any Tizen dev, but had planned on having a play with it over Xmas when I should have some free time. I want a 'GPS' app, and a mechanism to control my hive heating from the watch.
Nigel
i'll be happy if you can share the GPS app
my wife has a gear fit 2 and i bought a watchface (probably named gps...) that can do the above
i think that UTM/WGS84 would be great

GPS Coordinate standalone app for Gear S3
Search for the Gear S3 a GPS standalone coordinates app
Can be such an app programming, since roads maps
On the ship, in the mountains, during kite flying.
In an emergency, coordinates would be very helpful.
Would pay in the App Store any price for it, think there are many others
Also the so an app would need
Hope anyone can Help
I'm planning on buying the gear S3.
My question is, if I set Google navigation on my phone will I get notifications for the trip on the gear S3?

Not that I know of. Currently Google Maps doesn't work on the S3. You can use Here Maps though, it provides turn by turn navigation on the watch, both for walking and driving.
Doubt it since it's the Google Maps app that does an overlay on your phone and not through notifications. I could be wrong though
Google maps do not work with gear s3 as of yet. Here maps work, but I am not a big fan of it. I am really used to google maps and it was a major let down when I got my gear s3. Wish they would do something about it.
I have used Gear S2/S3 Navigation with Google for driving navigation. Works by vibrating the watch and showing the next driving direction on the watch.
A little late, but Google Navigation is available for the S3 but it doesn't integrate with the phone. The same with Samsung's navigation on the S3, Here WeGo, it doesn't integrate with Samsung Navigation on the phone.

Where is Google Navigation available for the S3? I do not see it in the App store.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. I should have said Navigation sort of. I'm using Google Map, listed on the store as "Map - Google map api used". It got so so reviews but I've used it for navigation and it works fine for me. Some complained about it being in Chinese but it wasn't for me and I mentioned that in my review, which is probably the latest review.

Google maps have offline maps.

HERE Maps Navigation from Play Store
GPS navigation from Maps & GPS navigation
This is really the best one, I've been using
OsmAnd and OsmAnd+
OsmAnd/OsmAnd+ are based on OpenStreetMap maps. They offer offline maps and navigation plus a whole bunch of other options for customization. You really need to check the Play Store page for the details.
I've been using it for years now. It's great.
I try to use samsung Health app for iphone with gear s2 for months. The embedded version of shealth in gear S app is very basic.
The full version of Shealth for iphone does not support gear s2.
I am able to sync only once and i don't know how.
Anyone know how to sync gear s2 with shealth for iphone (the full standalone app)?
Meanwhile i'm trying mapmyrun for iphone. It has a native app for gear s2 and seem very complete
Unfortunately I do not think there's a way. If you want to use the standalone application from Samsung Helth, you'll need to synchronize Gear information with your Samsung account whenever you're ready to see something.
Samsung Health only gained integration with the upgraded watches for Tizen 3.0. What we have left is to give 1 star and post our indignation on the page of Samsung Health in the App Store.
That's exactly why it comes out of a Galaxy S7 and I bought an iPhone 8. The Apple Watch 1 edition is updated to this day, even though it has a hardware inferior to Gear S2. I never buy any Samsung handset again.
Hello boys.
I have searched everywhere for an application for the gear fit that shows a route with a Google maps style map but I can not find anything.
What I'm looking for is this http://gear-navigator.com/. but the application that is installed in the gear is not in the galaxy apps, so it is useless

Has anyone been able to see the maps in the gear fit?
It is showing up as a paid watch face in the app store. Going by the reviews, it's not worth it.
