What Billy meant to say was:
"Sorry, i'm unfamiliar with having my phone on my belt, and if i'm honest i have hardly seen anyone, if at all anyone, wearing their phone on their belts, not many people do nowadays with how fragile some phones can be it's far safer in your pocket, i also doubt you'll find anyone here who does (No offense) i mean you might, but chances are that slim you are better off trying a universal belt clip and finding a case that's right for you, and then share your experiences in a thread here so other people who are looking for what you were have a place to go"
Wasn't you Billy.

Indeed, very eloquently put CBS - Developement!
Except I am familiar with wearing my Sony Ericsson V800 on a Krusell belt clip back in 2004, even then, people would remark on how retro and unapologetically utilitarian it was; much like wearing a bum bag (or fanny pack). Besides my tongue-in-cheek comment, I'm really not fixated on fashionable trends or superficial appearance. I was just alluding to the points CBS made, the crunch of it is that there's little demand for belt clips. Also, I could hardly imagine wearing a big slab of a phone affixed to my belt; the V800 was bulky enough. I do hope you find what you're looking for.
What you guys serious I use the i-blason case with belt clip it's a combo set on amazon for 11$. I can't imagine not having my phone on my belt

Well, like I said: I'm not fixated on fashionable trends etc. If you find attaching a huge phone to your belt practical then more power to you. Even with a phone quarter the size, I felt it getting in the way when I sat down. If you're taking a completely utilitarian view on this, how about strapping it to your head? You would certainly need the trendy moustache to complete the look.

I do construction and it doesn't get in the way. I am afraid my phone will break if it is in my pocket being that I lift heavy objects all day. It doesn't look weird. And the case and belt clip isn't that big.

I work in structural assessment, chipping away at masonry and corroded beams from ladders, ropes and MEWPs. I have an iPad sized, shoulder strap gadget bag at work to keep pens, notepads and my phone. It would be destroyed in 5 minutes if I had it in my pocket or on a belt and I don't even do much lifting. I don't know how you manage to keep yours safe! And before anyone says, yes I basically put my phone in a handbag at work. I'm often asked if I've got lipstick in there too. So I'm not judging anyone on where they keep their phone.
Best buy has a belt clip case combo for the edge plus, also the iPhone 6 plus holster works. Both are rebranded Seidio as Platinum or Pt.
I purchased this. It kept it thin, protected the phone, gives you full access to the screen and the clip itself is really strong.
Unicorn beetle pro clip case. I found it on ebay.
Supcase / unicorn beetle makes a case holster combo. I hate holsters so I just put it back in the box. I like this case tho.
belt clips are useful
I feel like belt clips are perfect for people that are always on the go. Plus you dont have to always reach for your pockets. What if your pants dont even have pockets? For example, girls skirts and some pants dont have pockets!!
Try to look up "galaxy s6 edge case belt clip" on Amazon. All the cases with the belt clips on the first page look great!! I couldn't choose which one was the best so I am letting you know you have a lot of options.
Also, its better to look at the reviews. Good and bad reviews, so that you know what are the pros & cons for each product! Hope you find the case that you like!
I use that case and belt clip unicorn beetle from amazon was so cheap i thought it be crap but its actually nice works great I work in construction and have enough stuff in my pockets belt clip works great and works with other casses too
I'd rather use a belt clip than a man purse!
I always get the Platinum (Seidio) one from Best Buy.
A lot of slim cases fit that one so it's quite versatile.
It's also strong and can take lots of abuse.
It also has enough grip to hold on to a suspender strap or overall.

I'll have my Nexus tomorrow. Just wondering, is the teflon coating on this thing pretty solid, or is it a good idea to get a protective case for it? I'm VERY careful with my phones. I never used a case with my MyTouch3G or my G1, and they stayed in great shape with only a few very minor scratches here and there. But if anything happened to my Nexus, I'm sure I'd be pretty pissed at myself. So... input? Thanks?

I didn't use a case for about a month, only used the sleeve. Dropped it on my mat on my rug for my computer chair several times. No marks at all. I bought a Ghost Armor body kit just in-case.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpGAW6L5x8U
the coating seems pretty tough to me,
personally i use the sleeve it came with during pocket transportation
and from what i heard the screen can be easily scratched by aluminum, so i would avoid any situation that would cause that to rub your screen
I use the crystal gel case, its very thin an unobtrusive. I'd say go with a case and even a screen shield; better safe than sorry. Besides, when Windows Phone 7 or something else from Google comes out, you want to keep that resale value up!
Trust me... you'll be just fine with the included neoprene sleeve. What's the point of having such a svelte phone if you encumber it with a case?

If you drop it on concrete then it will scratch the case. You don't have to have a gigantic case. Just something to cover the actual phone.
I have a BSE and it's amazing.
It is made of a silicone type material that gives it a little rubbery feel [not a lot at all, just a little bit].
It makes it less vulnerable to scratches and damage to the actual phone.
It gives the phone a small bit of grip so it's not so easily dropped.
It gives it a glossy look.
It covers every inch of the phone including the screen.
It's crystal clear and doesn't get as many smudges as the normal screen.
Here's a great review on it
The only problems I had was at first it looks a little hazy but the skin just has to sit for a little while then it will look great.
And applying the skin is very tedious and takes about 30 minutes to do it right. If you do it wrong it will have bubbles and wont sit right.
Here's some pics of mine

I say get a skin as I find the phone to be too slippery without one. I have gotten used to it but I don't trust other people to use it without a skin.
@dumbestcrayon
nice skin, makes the phone look oh so sexxyy..
p.s. Glassjaw is AMAZINGG
I dropped my n1 on concrete and the scratch was enough to make me consider selling it! [I know, issues...] So now I use the stock case but get sick of taking it out all the time, its fine in the pocket without protection

Oh yeah I love it. One of the only physical flaws, IMO, was that the body isn't glossy. Now its better.
Glassjaw is pretty good. Haven't heard them in a long while. They came up on last.fm.
I would say no, but that is a pretty tasteful case posted in the forum. If you are on the fence, I say go for it. the phone is very durable, but it was a bit slick in the hands at first.
I'm all for the bse. Wish I put one on my g1
I use the Seidio belt clip case mostly for transport protection. But it's easy to remove the Nexus for use anytime as is!

I have a belt clip also. I just like the BSE because it has no flaws. It makes the phone glossy, a little grip, protects it from any scratches because it covers 99.9% of the phone [where the .1% is the tiny lines between where the pieces of the skin comes together XD]
And, it was $8. So it's 100% win for me.

Yeah, I had it for my MyTouch. When I ordered my N1 I expected to have to throw it out. It's a good quality clip that I got from some website. I forgot where. My cousin got his N1 before me so I tried his and it fit perfect. I was pretty happy about it. IT was a little bit tight at first but it stretched out a bit. It has an open spot right where the headphone jack is too. But as of today I got my Rockfish BT headset so I wont need that anymore
This headset is amazing...A2DP is great.
dumbestcrayon, have you had any experience with the Invisible Shield?
I currently have the Invisible Shield on my phone without any complaints, just wondering if you had a comparison.
Price-wise, mine was more expensive at what, 25 bucks i think, but albeit with free lifetime replacement. Dunno about performance though...

Haven't tried it but I can say that I probably wont either lol. $25 is ridiculous. the specs seem to be the same thing actually.
i use the Seidio innocase 2. Its awesome except the fact that it cuts up your screen protector when you slide it on. But the phone outside is fully protected.

I can't make out however, if the full body skin also covers the edge (open slit) of the screen to prevent any dust/lint from getting inside it and further into the screen.
Can you confirm please?
Well i've had the case for 2 weeks now so I feel I can give you guys an honest review of the case.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSCkAmij7P0
Construction.
The case is two parts, as i'm sure you've already read, however I want to draw your attention to both parts with regards to manufacturing, and design.
The internal hard case is a two part snap fit,
it features a lens protector which is substantial, and seems fit for purpose, there isn't any distortion i can see, and the plastic seems solid. The screen protector built into this case seems of high quality, but does cause colour refraction of the screen (the effects of a oily screen) this isn't terrible and I suffered the same using a Invisishield screen protector, but it's worth noting. I don't like the fact that the buttons on the front of the phone are cut out, the amount of lint and hair i get through the holes is unbearable to myself, and this leads to the next problem.
There are 6 snap fit clips around the body which on first fit are ridiciously tight. this is good and bad. If you never take the case off then it is sure to survive any impact, however if your like me and the dirt annoys you under the screen protector you'll be taking it off all the time. Now once you break that virgin seal the clips never hold as tight, this isn't to say it no longer grips, just it's not tight so now the two part plastic creaks and squeeks if squeezed together, the movement isn't huge but again I like things to be solid, and this case isn't.
Now the Silicon case goes on the outside, unlike the Case Mate - Tough.
I see this as a better idea than the hardcase on the outside, however Otterbox have slipped up a little in my opinion. There is a raised lip on the outside edge which the silicon case slips over to secure it. they've made one on the top, two long ones each side, and to hooks on the bottom. But not on the corners, this is where it's needed most because of the lack of lip you'll find that when you catch the rubber on your clothes hand, an object it will pull away from the plastic part. I'm constantly having to push the rubber back into the lip and massage the corners so they meet the body better.
Impact protection.
Purely by chance the other week my desire went down an iron staircase on a building site. Not good but a perfect test for the case.
Well tbh my phone picked up a bit of speed and dented a plasterboard wall on stopping. I was pretty sure I was in for a new phone, but to my honest surprise the case did it's job. The phone is in perfect nick, the case itself is ok too.
Conclusion.
Well the case is big and bulky, it makes the phone slightly larger than a iPhone 3GS with case attached, which by todays standards is a brick, it's not asthetically pleasing to those with an eye for detail because of the squeeks, the loose outer rubber cover, and the screen proctector creating colour reflex, and obvious holes (the mk2 doesn't have the holes i'm told) it's not really a looker. But thats not what this case is about, if you need a case to protect your phone on busy building sites, or even if you a cluts dropping it all the time then this is the case of choice. I think if Otterbox revisit this case, perhaps add the lip all the way round to hook the rubber over, use a clearer screen protector, perhaps using a snap fit lip upposed to 6 clips then this would appeal to the people looking for a stylish protection solution. I believe this case is the best solution for protection, but looses alot of ground based on looks.

Your welcome mate
Thanks for the review, after viewing it i think maybe i just gonna buy the commuter..not defender, i love the "sexy" looks on my desire..
Great review mate..
thanks man,
new review up
nice reviews man you happen to be able to make a comparison between the otterbox commuter and the case-mate tough case?
I would but unfortunately I don't own that case, if I fall out with my tough case, i may buy one and review it thoug
i owned a commuter case till yesterday. returned it today and bought a case-mate tough case based on your review
hope you like it
Nice review! Thanks man!
Thanks for the review, detailed feedback is v. helpful.
I have had the defender since day one when released. I removed the protective screen it came with and use a zagg protective screen instead. Like the original poster stated the rubber does come off all the time on the edges and I find myself consistently pushing it back into place. Not a big deal. Also I have noticed my rubber piece for. The earphone Jack is starting to rip off. Good case overall in my opinion.
I like it very much.
Thanks for this great review!!!!!!!!
other problem
not sure if its just my otterbox, and not sure if it was already mentioned in the review.
in the upper left corner of the case is a hole that shows a very small portion of the screen. this is for the sensor inside that knows when the phone is up to your face when on a call. when you put the phone down, the screen comes back on. however, like mentioned in the review, with all the holes in this case, dirt and dust collect very easily, and block that sensor from seeing your face, therefore, when you take the phone away from your face, the phone's screen remains locked out. button pressing wont bring it back on. you actually have to wait for some hole to shine through to that sensor, or take the otter box apart so the screen will come back on. very, very annoying.
I was planning on purchasing this Speck universal holster for my G2. I already have the OEM gel skin and this seems to fit it perfectly. Good alternative to otterbox or seidco cases that are mysteriously absent for our beloved phone model. I was wondering if anyone had one or used one in the past and also to inform others about what might make an excellent combo for the popular OEM texturized gel skin. linkage... http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6824578&sk
Okay, it just came it and it's very nice. The build is nice quality and solid for a plastic holster. The cool thing is how it works. It has a spring (No... not like the one in our Z-hinge) that auto-fits any sized smartphone with or without gel or hard case! And when you use it without a case... its not loose or jiggley at all. Very solid each corner has rubberized grip on the inside so that it holds any size phone. I knew it was a bit pricey ($25-29.99 depends on where you get it) but it's worth it to me. And I can use it with any smartphone... so if I felt like going TP2 today... just pop in my sim and the same clip. And any future phone too. Here are some pics...

I bit the bullet and ordered one. I'll give a full review with pictures when it arrives. It's nice that Tiger Direct ships UPS though. I really hate the post office... yuk!
The cool thing about this holster is that you can use it one ANY phone so I switch up with one of my many current or future phones. Will be a nice combo with the T-Mobile Gel Skin, I think.

Yeah I just saw that in another thread. it looks nice! I'm gonna stick with this one since I can put in the holster while the gel skin is still on. I dont think the regular seidio holsters will do that. I know they have some that hold the phone with a case on but not the current ones. they have to go naked to fit. I'll post some pics later this week when it arrives. it should be here wednesday or thursday... but thanks for the heads up!

Yes. it swivels in both vertical and horizontal positions....
I just ordered one of these myself to go with another item folks on here found, seems like a near perfect replacement to Seidio if both items are used together.

How do you get your phone in and out of the holster one handed like the box says? getting it on isn't so bad, I keep ripping it off my belt when trying to do anything with it.

If you are using a wider belt like I am, it is kinda difficult at first. I fixed it by pushing upwards on the clip so that it closes all the way. Do that firmly once, and it should fit nicely. If you belt is wider than the clip... well that's the issue. Just examine the clip while its on the belt. If it isn't closed tightly... push the clip upward into the belt and it will loosen and fit properly.

I pulled out the clip spring and detached the clip so I could remove the screw on the pivot. This let me flip the clip over so that I pushed down rather than pulled up to remove the phone and the problem was solved. as the clip is now forced against my belt.
As a warning though, I had to snip off the two retainer bumps from the case to get it to pivot correctly again. As a side effect, it can now pivot in 360 degrees (it doesn't spin freely)
In the end, this will do, but I'm really hoping that Seidio pulls through as this system is not the quality I would like for my needs. I prefer the snug fit and felt padding in the seidio as it keeps the screen clean and protected rather than the spring powered gap and distance away from the holster the screen is now.

yeah, I got mine working with just a little force by pushing upwards on the clip without modding (which is nice). It's a nice clip but I guess your belt was a bit wider than mine. But so far this seems like the best thats available. it would be nice if otterbox or seido made a clip that fit on their protective cases but it seems like it won't happpen... oh well, we got stuck with the rather lame otterbox commuter series. Welll, I am happy with this setup though. no complains here since I didn't have to snip off the retainer clips.
I arrived at work this morning and I'd received a new case for my Galaxy Note 4 to review! Happy days!
I'm currently dissecting it now and will update this thread later today, but first impressions.... this thing is BIG!
I've personally never seen anything with such heavy duty protection for the Note series, that's not to say they're aren't others, it's just a new one on me.
If you're scared of damaging your device, then this robust looking thing may be right up your street.
More to follow shortly while I put this thing thru it's paces.

PACKAGING:
The packaging is pretty decent to be fair, and definitely has a premium feel to it.
THE CASE:
Straight out of the packaging, this is what you get, they've included an Alan Key, to actually get into the thing which I think is good of them.
I've had "screw in" cases before, where you end up having to search around in the spider invested drawers of your garage just to get a key or screwdriver small enough to fit these things, so definitely a positive on that front.
Open up the case here is what you get inside:
Two Lanyards
An alcohol wipe
Cloth
Spare screws
And a second Alan Key
It's simply a case of unscrewing the screws and dropping your phone in
The inside part where the phone sits is rubber, with parts of it made into a honeycomb mesh, I'd say there's about 1CM of the stuff that separates the phone from the outside world once fitted.
The other materials used are aluminum for the front and back plate and it also has it's own glass protector which states to be Gorilla Glass, I can't confirm or disprove this but it's definitely glass.
The glass itself is clear and does not impair viewing and because the glass is attached to the case and not adhered to the screen, you do not get the "halo effect" associated with the current tempered glass protectors currently on the market.
Once installed get ready to start weight lifting, the whole thing together is "HEAVY", most definitely not something you'd want to stick in the top pocket of your shirt.
The only part not covered by this case is the rear camera, but is protected to a degree, as it's set back from the surface of the case.
Because the whole phone is enclosed, you have some raised capacitive buttons, to use instead of touching the phone itself, they work really well as does the responsiveness of the screen and the S-Pen on that screen, the S-Pen doesn't work with the capacitive buttons though, not a big deal but it's something to be aware of.
The ports for the Pen, USB and headphone socket are all covered by a cap of some description, the case states to be "Weather Proof" and I think it most definitely is, everything seems to lock together well, but it's not raining here (for once) so can't test this right now.
On a side note, I'm happy to report that all the cutouts for the ports and sensors are precise, everything I can see so far makes me have a feeling they've took care in creating this case.
The back of the case has a raised rubber backing, giving it some friction to stop it sliding around.
It's not as "grippy" to my bare fingertips though.
CONCLUSION:
This case in my opinion is great for those who do a lot of outdoor activities, or work in outdoor conditions and want to protect their device the best they can, this really does feel rugged and up to the challenge, in stopping rain and dust getting to your Note 4.
I personally would use, but only when I'm going to the beach or out camping/walking in the countryside with the family, not as my daily protection, for the adventurers out there, this is thing will be a great investment.
For the average person like myself, it's just two heavy and adds a substantial amount girth to the size of the Note 4 to use full time.
My everyday protection comes in the form of a Spigen Neo Hybrid, which in itself isn't exactly slender, but providing Love Mei don't ask for it back
I'll use the Powerful when I know I'm going to be going somewhere that phones are "allergic to" as this thing feels bomb proof.
Cheapest place I could find to get this was direct from them http://www.lovemeicases.com/love-mei-powerful-bumper-for-galaxy-note-4/ at $49.99
I like he case, but the branding on the front is the big turn off for me.
Wow that bulk! Guess you'll be happy it's safe I guess

I know, mental ain't it! you need to have big hands to handle this with one hand, I'm 6.1" have sizeable hands and can just manage to handle it.
These cases were originally copied from a company called Lunatik.
Lunatik really dropped the ball making anything outside of the iPhone only cases.
That Note 4 version sure looks huge. Makes the Defender look slim.
A kickstand would have been nice. If it had a holster I'd buy it. I particularly like the glass protection screen considering there isn't a glass protector that fits properly w/o a halo available and I like the water resistant feature. Did you test it making calls and know your voice doesn't sound muffled?
From a bulk standpoint it doesn't look any bulkier than any other highly protective case like the Defender for example.
I see where others are talking about seeing the case, but I don't see any pictures that are posted. Were they taken down?

I'll check on that today, reception wise, I didn't see any changes but didn't check GPS etc, so I'll check that too.
All the rugged cases look ugly.
Why isn't there a more girly one, that doesn't look like a fat robot?

We only get the black and glacier in the UK. It's a bit of pain to order from the US because I always end up paying custom fees and the case itself is pricey already. And then I don't want to buy from a reseller because I am not aware of any reputable ones. You never know whether it will be genuine. I bought one for my S4 and it was a really bad clone. Oh well!

It wouldn't maintain it's looks if you worked on a building site and dropped it on concrete [emoji12]
I always put a rugged case on my new phones for a couple of months. By then I have my eye on something new. Then I take off the bulky case and enjoy the phone for a while before I sell it.
Thanks for the detail review, firstly I'm hanging on between love mei case and lunatik takkit, now I will go for love mei to have my N4 under extreme protection....
This case seems solid on protection,no other cases will have a better performance on guard...
Hey there I am looking for nexus 9 case
That provides some drop protection
Without being like a tank
i want something like the spigen Hybrid Series
but they don' make them for the n9
and the only case that i have find excluding book cover cases are
the Cruzerlite Bugdroid

But it provides very minimal protection
and the SUPCASE
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ONRSSF0/
Which proved extreme protection, but adding too much thickness to the device
so is there any suggestions for the any case you know about
I have the supcase and purchased it on its release. While it does add a bit of builk the device fits securely inside the front of the case and then the thicker rear snaps around the front. It is similar to the otterbox i guess however it does not have the rear shell. the rear of this case kind of is a hibrid of the plastic shell and a hard gel rear sort of thing

do you feel that the case makes the device
To become very bulky or is it Just little bit because in pictures it looks huge
ill be honest in that it makes the device bigger. It gives it a little bit of weight also.
in that though, i am used to it now and it provides excellent protection. i would recommend it to anyone who used an otterbox type case on their other devices. It was also half the price.
I was initially waiting for the poetic case however with shipping from america it was going to cost approximately 70-80AUS $. I got this case for about half that price, so very stoked.
I've found the Kayscase to be pretty decent. I have it in the frosted clear. I've never owned any of the Cruzerlite cases for devices, but I imagine the Kayscase would be similar. Also, I am not sure how well it would actually fair if dropped. However, it is reasonably light, doesn't add a ton of thickness or bulk to the case, seems to be easier to grip, and provides just a slight lip over the bezel and screen.
ETA: It occurred to me that the image shown below is probably a Nexus 7. The Nexus 9 version looks pretty much exactly the same, except it doesn't have the rear speaker cutouts. The shape of the rear camera cutout is also different to accommodate the flash on the 9.
You can find it here:
http://www.amazon.com/Google-Nexus-...d=1420779419&sr=8-2&keywords=kayscase+nexus+9
I have both the bugdroid and the supcase. I really an confident with the Supcase enough that I take it with me on the farm, something I haven't done with a tablet since back in my Xooms with the Defender case. Man, that thing was a monster to carry.
Honestly as long as supcase makes cases for whatever device I own I'll never buy another OtterBox. They're not quite as bulky and I honestly think they're better made. I have one on my nexus 6 as well.

OP, I know this is not what you asked for, but your title made me think of taking a hardcover book, and "Andy-Dufresne-ing" the inside of it to make it the dimensions of the Nexus 9, and then stabilizing it in there somehow. you would have to glue the edges of the paper together on the outside, but this could be a terrific idea... if done correctly.
For those who don't know what Andy-Dufresne-ing a book is, go home and watch The Shawshank Redemption.
I fully expect my "thanks meter" to shoot up through the roof right about now....

You are absolutely right. I mis-read, and I apologize. (And if i came off like i was yelling, i apologize for that also. Definitely wasn't my intention.)
I got a moko grey case. It's awesome! Super slim and all plastic so no worries of ripping or taring the fake leather.

I looked at that one as well but went with the Poetic hardshell case from Amazon (Can't post links yet ), it does add some bulk, but sure is secure. Still the purple one looks interesting.
Still scratching my head over the round cutout on the bottom front of the case. Was the Nexus 9 supposed to have a fingerprint sensor there?
