Hey guys im new here and i need your help! I tried installing CM into my moto g, but it didnt go so well so i flashed stock rom and it worked fine. I tried to update the stock (4.4) to Lollipop and it was showing a progress bar it was going well. I leave my phone there and went to go do something and when i came back to check the the progress, the screen was off. I tried to power it on several times and even tired holding down the volume button but it wont power up. The charger wasn't plugged when it was updating but the battery percentage was over 70%.. I left it there to charge for hours and still wont work. But when i plug it in my laptop it makes a sound that the phone is connected but the screen is still off. When its plugged in my laptop my notification blinks once and thats it doesnt do any thing else. Can someone help me fix this?

So I left work today at 5, paired my phone with the bluetooth in my radio, after I installed Skyfall last night. Pandora was supposedly playing and connected to the radio, but nothing was playing. I toggled the radio a few times and noticed that now only media was playing but no phone. I turned off the bluetooth on the phone thinking that was the problem.
The phone immediately disconnected from my pebble, expected. The bluetooth quick toggle was spinning like it was busy, so I waited. When the light turned green I put the phone in the cupholder. By the time I got to the next light the phone was off, not connected to anything and a bit warm.
The entire 40 minute ride home the phone was hot, and would not turn on or connect to anything. I tried holding the power button down for 10-30 seconds at a time to reset it, but it would not reset. I have tried this multiple times.
I'm home now, connected to the charger but have no charging light, and it still won't turn on. It has cooled off a lot in the past 10-30 minutes
Past couple days I've tried flashing a few things. After the last reset I installed Skyfall, power saver mod, faux kernel, set cpu (and changed some settings) and restored my app backups. Everything was running fine until I tried to connect to the bluetooth on my raido.
I can connect the phone to my computer, and windows recognizes a device connected, but neither ADB or Fastboot see the phone
Am I missing something on the hard power off?

Have you tried holding down power and volume up? When I was using the stock rom rooted with the insecure kernel my phone was running hot and I turned it off and it wouldn't power back on. Nothing worked until I pressed power and volume up - give it a shot.

I swear I was trying this in the car... and several attempts after... But that worked! Maybe it was because I had it on the charger when I did it this time?
Why would they ever make you hold two buttons for a hard reset ><
Phone is on now, Thank you for your assistance!
They gave us back our SD Cards... Now give us back our removable batteries!

Hello,
I flashed the latest LRX22C image on my nexus 5 today.Had flashed it clean, wiping data, cache and system etc except the Internal Storage. Then I flashed the SUPERSU 2.37 ZIP .Everything was fine for about 4 hours. Then suddenly when I pressed the power button to turn the screen off,it was not turning off and the "Switch off" mode was popping up instead .Then, when I got a call,it switched off.The phone won't turn on again. It starts, the Google Boot Splash appears and the bootanimation starts for like 2 seconds and it switches off.Same thing for bootloader mode.
Please Help me!
EDIT: Now its turning on by itself and switches off in 2 seconds!
Sounds like a bad power switch to me, but of course that is just my opinion. :good:
sounds like a mech issue.

I have the same problem on mine now... Basically my phone powered down around 45%. Battery. At the time i thought it was dead... But it wasnt. When i would plug into external power, either usb or through wireless charging it would power cycle continuously at the android splash screen.... (1 to 2 second intervals - even if i booted into fastboot) Interestingly it would never go to the battery charging mode. But automatically boot on charge... It did this for about 6 hours then i gave up and left it unplugged for a day. I plugged it back in and it started power cycling again, however this time on its third boot it came back to life . thats when i discovered i still had 40% battery... I dont know what exactly made it boot but it did. Oddly also on boot, it started optimising apps and finishing install again. I checked the md5 before I installed the update so no issue there. Since it powered up i have powered the phone off using the power button long push and let the phone power down. After doing this when i plug the phone in to usb charge it goes to the charge screen. No issue. That said, if i try to power up while tethered and charging it will not allow it. It just stays at the charge screen. As soon as i unplug the usb the power button allows the phone to power up and work... When booted up it charges as normal when plugged in. Im convinced there is an issue with the power management drivers or drivers for the button controls. My phone worked fine until the 5.0.1 update was installed. On my nexus 5. Anyone else or just us two? Ive had a hard time finding people posting on this issue.
Put my sim free s6 on charge last night (wireless) as i always do and when i woke up the green led was flashing quite fast.
I went to wake the phone up using home button and nothing, nothing from powerbutton either. Tried holding down powerbutton and have also tried charging manually but still nothing. What was strange also was that i did not get any charging sound when i inserted the cable to try an charge it.
I am pretty sure its charged though...just will not turn on.
Any ideas?
No completely stock phone, very few apps on it, just over a week old.
Updated to 5.1.1 via ota a couple of days ago.
Just done a bit of a search on the Internet and says to hold all the buttons down which I've done and has now restarted and seems fine.
Does not explain what's happened though
problem solved?
Well it's working fine now but does not explain why it just died for no reason and would not do anything without rebooting with that method.
Phone was 100% charged when started up also....very strange
Got same thing happen to my S6 after updating it to 5.1.1 . Phone have random freeze problem , left it on desk then someone called and a didnt get it up so notification light blinked i wanted to check who was calling but after pressing power to wake it up it wasnt working same with home button. So i had to keep pressed Vol- and power to reset phone . I wonder is it a 5.1.1 bug ?
Hi my phone is a Samsung Galaxy s6 and I've had it about a month the it just stopped working it had no life although when I go to charge it it starts charging but if i try to turn it on it just flashes a green light on the bottom of the phone what is this please
You don't need to hold all buttons down. Hold VOLUME DOWN+POWER for a few seconds and it will do a forced reboot.
I have the same problem with my s6 edge. Tried everything, and nothing is working. Any other suggestions on how to turn on my phone?
Hi! Did you get any responses? I'm having the same problem and don't know what to do
Thanks, this helped me out. 3 buttons at the same time. I did it long, maybe needlessly.
i had my Note 8 phone working absolutely fine sitting at my desk. I picked it up and saw ~50% batt. Got into a subway after 10 minutes and tried to check the time - the phone was completely dead. Tried everything under the sun - read 2 posts before this one and then found out the solution was to hold all the 3 buttons (important to note - the down volume + bixbee + start buttons) all at the same time for almost a minute to get it started.
All this time a green led light was flashing on top right of the phone.

Same here with my note 9
Green light on and cannot open the device. Please help
Hi. First of all, thanks for taking the time to read this. I know it's a long post, I'm just trying to be as detailed as possible.
I've a Moto G XT-1032 that stopped working a couple days ago. It has the original battery, original software. It didn't came with an original charger, so I have been using a Samsung Galaxy Tab one. The phone is almost two years old.
This is how it all started: It had low battery. When I got home it connected itself to the wi fi, and tons of whatsapp messages came at the same time. It went off.
I thought maybe it had drained the battery. Plugged it in to charge, didn't get the led on, and the battery showed 0% for an instant. Then the phone turned itself on, got the M logo and then the screen went black (like... some sort of backlight is on, but the screen is just black)
I turn it off, and it goes back on. No battery image, straight to the M logo, and then black screen. I tried holding power + vol down keys for more than 120 secs, finger pain is the only I got. It can access fastboot mode, but doesn't matter which option I pick, normal powerup, recovery, factory... I select them and then press vol up, but it just goes to the white screen with the M logo, then black screen.
When I plug the charger, and go to fastboot mode, it doesn't show battery charging. Just says battery low (or battery ok). When I plug it to the computer via the usb cable, and access fastboot, it shows battery charging.
The computer doesn't detect the device at all. First time I plugged it, it tried to install drivers, but failed. I downloaded them from motorola's page.
If I open motorola device manager, it tells me there aren't updates for my phone... So... I guess it's recognizing it? But I still can't see it. Windows only shows me my C and D drives, but not the phone. Tried different usb cables, different usb ports. Nothing changes.
I sent it to a service, they tested the battery and charging port, they said those were fine. But didn't find the problem.
Any ideas? Suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
My LG G Flex 2 H950 was working fine, running google maps and playing music, plugged in to the car charger. Within minutes of leaving the car the phone was dead - I could not power it on. I can usually get it to show the LG logo by trying to start in Recovery Mode (holding the power and volume-down buttons for several seconds) but then the logo just disappears after a few seconds and the phone does not power on. But sometimes when I try this the red LED blinks on the phone screen and the logo may or may not appear. Sometimes (50%) when I plug the phone in to my Windows 10 desktop, the computer plays a tone to indicate a new device has been connected, but no icon appears in the list of hard drives or devices.
I think the battery is charging normally - when I connect the phone to a USB volt meter it usually (but not always) shows a normal amount of amperage flowing, and just now when I tried to start the phone it showed the battery charge icon on the phone screen (it doesn't usually do this) and showed 100% charge.
Is there anything else I can try, even if just to get the phone running long enough to backup my text messages etc?
Is there any way to test what's actually wrong? I'd hate to spend money on a new battery or charging port etc for a slim chance to temporarily fix a phone that seems like it's dying.
Thanks for any advice or suggestions...
Hey, i've got the same problem since today. i was watching youtube videos when the phone suddenly stopped working. did you already find the problem?
Sorry for my bad englisch ( Dutch)
No - not solved, phone still dead. Still would love to hear any advice...
I used to have the exact same problem as you - bootloops at the LG logo, no recovery etc. After some reading it seemed that the battery was the root of the problem, and after replacing the battery my phone was back to life - no issues ever since. I recommend you check if the battery is the issue by connecting it to a normal charger (i.e. not charging from a PC) and powering it on, by holding the power button at the battery charging screen. If it powers on normally then it's most likely a battery issue, which can be easily fixed. Cheers!
