you need to use a custom recovery like cwm or twrp
that's a flashable zip you need a custom recovery to flash it, search on Google CWM for Nexus 4
1. root ur device
2. install busy box
3.install rashr app
4.download .img file of ur custom recovery (google it)
5.flash it via rashr app(keep ur internet connection on)
6. then flash your .zip file via the custom recovery
i did the same for error: pie (reaver -bcmon) chutiyapa tha

Try downloading file with a different browser like opera mobile or Firefox.
Try after work again!
Rename the end, from img to zip.
Sent from my SM-N915P
The file does download as a zip file , when extracted there only an IMG no MD5 File in any of these Zips
I found this method while messing around and found it actually works!
So you want to download this TWRP provided, and although it says 'sm-g361h' it will work for 361f
Instructions:
1. Download odin and connect phone.
2. In the AP file put the twrp tar file
3. Once installed transfer the update.zip to your sd card.
4. Reboot into TWRP and flash update.zip
Done! You are completed.
Sorry that this might not be the best looking thread.

I have tried all the possible methods, and I have not yet managed to complete the root on the aforementioned phone. why is it so hard?
Currently having trouble as my device does not want to be ADB friendly from the temp flash of TWRP so I need a zip file to flash twrp from as the old ones fail to boot but I'm having trouble finding an installer file. Is there one available?
Yes it's in the op of the twrp thread, it's called the unified unofficial installer
It's literally in the first post of the thread :
