You have to be complete stock, no root, stock recovery and kernel.
Unrooting and flashing the stock recovery and kernel will NOT work,
you will need to flash the 4.4.4 firmware first.

I did flash it to stock ROM but still it showed signature verification failed and some root error. BTW I still have cwm not the original recovery !!
well apparently you dont clearly read the guides,you cant install official updates with custom recovery, you need everything original stock and no root. read the guides first before posting

I downloaded stock ROM from here. But I guess it has cwm recovery image not the original.
If u could point me to pure stock ROM moto g Indian Asian version first gen

Of moto g xt1033 I want to remove the custom recovery can anyone tell me that how can I do that I want to update my moto g xt1033 to android l
The only the that is preventing me doing that is the custom recovery so that's why I want to restore stock recovery in my moto g

Get the recovery.img and run "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" from bootloader mode.
Do it at your own risk^^^
everything worked perfectly
I flashed recovery as u advised me then did everything which was suggested in the original thread the only problem was recovery stock recovery is pretty tricky thing to open I had to press volume up for 9 sec for 10th sec the power button at the same time and it worked

Moto G XT1034 4.4.4 to 5.0.2 update problem
I received Lollipop OTA notification for my XT1034 today (Retail Canada) and I downloaded and installed it but the phone got stuck at Motorola logo. I waited for about 45 mins on this screen but got desperate and turned it off (hard reset)
Tried to enter recovery and still it says Bootloader 41.13, tried to wipe cache partition and completed the process but after reboot it gets stuck at logo again, please help!

My phone got OTA Lolipop 5..0.2 update some time ago and i was looking for a guide how to flash custom recovery and root the phone but there are so many different topics and different versions and so on .. could someone provide me with correct link?
I want to root my phone so as i understand i need to unlock my bootloader (already did it), then flash custom recovery and superSU.
Is there any working guide for Lolipop stock ROM? What recovery, superSU ver. should i flash and where should i get them? Thanks.
Hi, my note 3 has no os installed and I already tried flashing roms but it didnt work, neither did the stock rom. It has twrp installed on it. All caches are deleted and the only thing on it is twrp. How can I fix this?
Hi, thank you for using XDA Assist. Probably the easiest thing to do is flash the stock firmware with Odin. Alternatively you could adb push a Rom zip to your phone and flash that with twrp. Odin will return your device to stock and you'll have to root again and put twrp back on. It also will wipe your device. I wonder if anyone could offer me a little assistance please ? I have a UK Tesco Moto G 16GB (2013) that I have successfully unlocked the bootloader and rooted and CWM recovery installed. Currently, it's running 4.4.4 Kitkat. I gave up with the OTA update as I was getting the 'preflash validation failed' message. More recently, I have tried following the guide on here to flash the XT1032_GPE_5.1_Optimized_v1.1.zip file using CWM. However, this resulted in what I believe is termed a bootloop - i.e. the coloured dots animation just never stopped - I waited half an hour and it was still going.
I've managed to restore it back to my previous 4.4.4 for the moment, but I would like to move to Lollipop at some point - if I could !
Could someone suggest a method I could try please ?

Well, my device is a XT1032 Retail US but I may have been through the problems you're facing right now.
Here we go:
Go full stock (don't know if you revocer from a backup or already did this but in any case you'd know what to do: This guide helped me a lot. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2542219.
Do not install any official update using a custom recovery
Make sure you got the actual latest recovery version. If you went stock from the latest firmware you should have already got it.
If you have your OTA, Install it manually from the stock recovery
This method should work. It is the one I followed.
I got two errors: 1st was because was using custom recovery.
2nd was because my rom was stock but had deleted system apps, so the install failed always at some point.
Once I flashed the latest stock firmware including the stock recovery, I was able to install my OTA update.
Let me know if this works.

After that somehow I managed to install 4.4.4 stock rom. Its working fine that day. Next day I got update to 5.0.2 and I downloaded the update file. While installing that fine phone got turned off and not starting. I dont know what to do. Is there any solution to turn on my phone?

That's most probably because you left the custom recovery.
You need to flash again the stock recovery and try again to make the update.
