Hello. I enabled data encryption on my Xperia J and I want to share it with you.
What you will need.
Xperia J with unlocked bootloader.
FlashTool.
Original ICS firmware.
Latest CyanogenMod-10for Xperia J.
Optional gapps or something other for your taste.
Android SDK tools: adb and fastboot.
Modified boot.img. Download it here.
Every links and how-to's for that are here http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-j-e/general/xperia-jst26i-roms-kernels-mods-how-tos-t2237164
Steps:
Unlock your Xperia J bootloader (http://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/)
Download FlashTool and original ICS firmware to your phone.
Flash original ICS firmware to your phone (you need to downgrade for GSM and wi-fi working in CM10)
Download latest CyanogenMod-10 for your Xperia J.
Download modified boot.img
Replace boot.img in archive with modified boot.img.
Flash modified boot.img with CWM Recovery to your phone via fastboot ($ fastboot flash boot boot.img)
Turn on your phone and load into CWM Recovery. From CWM Recovery install CyanogenMod 10.
Optional install gapps.
Turn on your phone and enable encryption in Settings/Security.
Read carefully all warnings. Backup your data if you afraid to loose it.
I'm not responsible for any bricked phones and losted data.
Tested with Xperia J with latest CM10.

Make sure that you are running Sony stock rom and stock kernel , and rooted (to run TA Backup restore).Install fastboot driver of Z3. Go to Developer Setting , enable USB debugging and mock location , plug the usb cable , run ta backup , choose restore.
p/s : install TWRP recovery (or any other recovery you want) and flash a prerooted stock firmware flashable zip file to return to stock rooted sony rom and kernel.

Thanks man
So, I have a ROOTED & UNLOCKED Xperia L which creates problems while installing a Custom Recovery. At first I tried the TWRP 2.8.7.0 which just wouldn't boot the phone and after using the Flashtool to reflash the Stock FTF; I tried the Rashr app and Minimal ADB and FastBoot to flash Recovery as well.
In every case the phone either wouldn't boot or just stay with TeamWin Logo Flashing intermittently.
I wonder what nooby mistakes are letting this kind of thing happen.
Long Story short - I need a decent custom recovery image (download link) that works on a Stock Xperia L that helps me take a full backup and the steps to install so I don't end up using the Flashtool everytime.

Hey everyone,
I'm planning on getting Magisk for my Xperia Z3 Dual. Now before I start doing literally anything, I want to ensure that if I screw up, I can flash the original boot.img back onto my device.
But right now that's my problem.
I can't seem to find a way to get the stock boot.img.
I've been looking around the web for a while now and everything I found required either a custom recovery, like TWRP or an already rooted device. As for the custom recovery, I'd be all for it, but I read that TWRP is only available unofficially for the Z3 Dual and requires a custom rom.
Is it possible to backup and get a boot.img from my device without literally changing the entire system already?
