Samsung's new flagship device, the Galaxy S4 is the first phone to support the MHL 2.0 standard, meaning that HDTVs and monitors with such a port can charge the device and stream Full HD content down from it at once.
This adapter allows you to connect your Samsung Galaxy S4 with any standard HDMI video cabled so you can share what is on your S4's screen with other HDMI enabled visual equipment, like a monitor or TV.
This is perfect for sharing photos with family or friends or giving a presentation to a client.
The HDMI adpater uses the MHL 2.0 standard meaning the device does not need a power supply and it supports 1080p!
Just plug the microUSB/MHL connector into the S4 and then connect a standard HDMI cable to the adapter and to the TV or monitor, then the phones display will be shown on the big screen!

Hi guys
I never used my 700T Tab S on the TV. Id like to try it.
My TV is also Samsung.
Are the cables all basically the same, or do some allow the tablet to display better than others on the TV?
What about OEM Samsung HDMI cables?
Thanks!!
I have mine hooked up with a Third party HDMI cable as you can see on the Dell 23" monitor with no issues on my T800 Tab S 10.5....
I am also using the Samsung HDTV smart adapter.
To connect a Galaxy Tab S to an HDMI monitor you'll need an MHL 2.0 adaptor and the original Samsung ET-H10FAUW does the job perfectly.
In my experience I would beware cheap clones or Samsung branded fakes, the Samsung ET-H10 hooks to any monitor instantly up to 1080p 60fps, while others I've tried take up to 1 minute, don't work with an optimal resolution and must be always connected with a power source.
Can the Tab S power higher resolutions on an external display, say it's native resolution or 4k?
I would like to attach a Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 to an old Aluminum 20" Apple Cinema Display, but I reckon this question would be applicable to all sorts of devices and monitors. When I connect my Tab S4 with a USB-C to DVI adapter the Display LED blinks 3 quick times, indicating that it does not like the input format/resolution. The monitor's optimal resolution is 1680x1050. Can I get my Tab S4 to output that resolution? I can hook the tablet to an old Samsung monitor with the same adapter and it is clearly not the correct resolution, but at least something comes up on screen.
Can this be done, and if so how?
I have tried SecondScreen and it successfully changes sizing of stuff on screen, but does not seem to affect the actual resolution send out to DVI/HDMI.
Thanks
