Galaxy button lights (no root required) - Galaxy Note5 Themes and Apps

Hey guys.. Came across this app today that disable or allows you to keep on or modify the back light on the buttons, doesn't require root and works on the note 5

[Request] App to turn off charging LED

Google did a great job by turning off the soft key lights in the night clock mode in FROYO (thanks Google) but the charging LED remains on (annoyingly). Would it be possible to develop an app to turn the charging LED off?
N.b. My Nexus isn't rooted and it may not be possible without root access but it would be awesome if someone could look in to it, Thanks
I am sure used once an app to turn off all leds...donĀ“t remember the name though and if root was needed, sorry.
I've found 'LED hack' but it's for root only.

[APP] Key Plus - Change LG G3 Volume key shortcuts to any app (without root)

Hello friends, I am Naveen Naushad, an indie Android developer from India. Recently I got a G3 D855 for myself and loved the volume quick launch option while the screen is off. I came from a Galaxy Note 1 which had an AOKP ROM that allowed you to toggle flashlight by holding the volume button. I missed that feature on G3 and wanted to enable it badly, that too without root as I am pretty much happy with the device as it is.
With that in mind, I set out to develop an app that allowed this without root access and here I am with LG Key Plus. With this app you can:
Toggle flashlight with built-in option, without touching the screen
Launch any app
Execute even Launcher shortcuts such as Direct Dial, Direct Navigation and much more.
Should work on all variants of G3, even the "mini" G3 variants such as G3 Beat, Stylus, S etc.. although I not tested
The idea behind this app is to set it as the default app for Volume keypress events. You just have to do it once.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apptuners.keyplusapp
The app is completely free, without ads. Works only on stock LG ROM. Tested successfully on a G3 D855 running KitKat (V10L) and Lollipop (V20E), which brings me to...
Lollipop Compatibility
I received Lollipop update today morning and guess what? It looks like LG has hardcoded their own Camera app as the default Volume Down app. That means you can't change the Volume Down action on Lollipop. But Volume Up works great. I believe most people wanted to change only the Volume Up shortcut (from Quick Memo to something useful) as Volume Down shortcut of camera is actually quite useful.
If you liked the app, please donate and support my work. And let me know your feedback. Thank you.
Wow thanks
Can I change the vol buttons to music controls? I'm on CM12
EDIT: nvm I didn't read the part "STOCK LG ROM only"
Sorry
it doesn't work on Cloudy L Rom V2 !!
Works fine on ChupaChups rom !! U can only toggle the volume up button!! But its ok since i use the volume down for camera any way !!
Thanks dude !!
Working on stock D851 except the volume plus key doesnt work if you have the quick circle case on. It didnt work with quick memo before installing app either so it is expected.
edit: nvm, found it
Thanks, very good app...
It doesn't work with quick circle case closed. Can you fix this?

The volume up key is designated for qmemo before this mod. If you notice it doesnt work with qcircle case too only volume down. It would probably require this to be a root app to achieve that.

Oh is it? Thanks for the info. I don't use a Quick Circle case so never knew that.

That's correct. And I want to keep the app as a non-root app as I am not planning to root my G3 any soon.
For some reason the screen stays off when I use the volume down key to activate the camera. The camera app opens, I just need to double tap to wake the screen. Cloudy1.2 on D850.
That shouldn't be happening. There is specific code written to wake the screen and unlock the device, before launching the chosen app (except when it is the built in flashlight).
Could you please change the shortcut to another app and see if that wakes the screen correctly?
The build in flashlight turns off after a couple of seconds and the notification gets stuck.
Android now HD newest release
have anybody any idea how i can change aplications on this quick launch? on kitkat i has 3 apps, but when i update to lollipop, 2 apps is missing
can you please make it work for LG G Pro 2 D838? it didnt work at all

Does G Pro 2 launch apps like Quick Memo and Camera when you press the volume buttons while the phone is locked? I can't test it out as I don't have that device.

The "notification getting stuck" issue will be fixed in the next update but I still haven't figured out why the flashlight turns off quickly in certain devices.
App works great to change the volume up and be able to enable torch, thanks; but when the shortcut is changed from quick memo to torch I lose the ability to use quick memo to draw on what I see in screen and save it as screenshot.
So I had to uninstall the app to be able to "draw" on the screen again.

[APP] [4.3+] Hold Back To Kill [ROOT]

Here is an app that allows you to hold your back button to kill the currently open application.
If popularity is high enough, I will update it with things like whitelist etc.
If you use a Samsung device, the only problem is that you can't show the MultiWindow bar anymore. I will work on a fix for it. I only made this because xposed doesn't work on Samsung Lollipop yet so this is what I wanted until it is. Once it works, I prolly won't ever touch this app again.
Thanks everyone!
UPDATE:
- Performance improvement
useful, thanks for this!!!!
Great job! I've been missing this feature since I switched to Lollipop. Thanks!

Hello, CM12 with standard navbar (3 buttons) doesn't have that setting. It s only implmented in roms with navbars with extra settings like opening an app etc etc
Having Trouble
I'm having a similar problem where even a single tap on the back button is closing the app. I have a rooted Galaxy S4 running Android 4.4

So this is happening when using the navbar and not the physical buttons?
It seems like the up action isn't being triggered. I could try to implement maybe a double click back to kill option. Ill try to debug on my 5.0 emulator that uses the navbar and see if i can figure anything out. Weird how that's happening.

Hm, I truly don't know then. I really would need the device in hand to test with. I could try to do testing by sending you a file with loads of debug information in it. Would you mind that?

I was just an idiot that assumed the activation time was in units of seconds, not milliseconds. This may be what most people are having trouble with. It works well now, so thank you and keep up the good work.

no, but it will take a while. i need to test multirom on my device and i have have to finish the translation of an app first.

Awesome - best thing that can happen to a rooted stock rom.
btw its labled "Main Activity" in App Drawer, not "Hold Back To Kill"

i believe that function would cause your phone battery to drain dramatically? but just pressing the home button with your saved finger print will wakeup/unlock your phone, which i think is good enough already

Emm, I have greenify and I am able to greenify system apps after purchasing the donation package and getting xposed, peraphs an app called fingerprint is running in background constantly, so I think it will not matter..

Yes. I used it myself. Go play store, install the app hi locker. Check security setting in the app, enable fingerprint. Then set the time duration for how long you want the fingerprint to be awake.

Its easier to just press the home button as @zincsnow said. This will eat battery life since the S6 only has a 2700mah battery.

[Q] Galaxy s7 nougat-turn off 'popup' 'heads up' but without ADB?

Hey guys,
Sry if it is double post but i cannot find the same question.
So is there an option to turn off popup or heads up notifications or whatever they are called in 7.0 nougat but without that ADB procedure which is in my opinion only partial fix (it turns it off for all apps) and also it is funny that i even have to do that on a new update when it worked on the 6.01 on a flagship expensive phone...cmon samsung...
Thanks in advance
