Google did a great job by turning off the soft key lights in the night clock mode in FROYO (thanks Google) but the charging LED remains on (annoyingly). Would it be possible to develop an app to turn the charging LED off?
N.b. My Nexus isn't rooted and it may not be possible without root access but it would be awesome if someone could look in to it, Thanks
I am sure used once an app to turn off all leds...donĀ“t remember the name though and if root was needed, sorry.
I've found 'LED hack' but it's for root only.

LEDs Hack is really cool!!
works great with my desktop dock!
Thanks LEDs Hack worded a treat!
It is bothersome watching youtube or any videos having the light turned on constantly for those four keys. Is it possible to turn them off? And also the led notification while charging? Thanks.

On start, it asks for what phone u have and sensation is not an option. Did u test his with a sensation. If so, what phone did you choose and does it work with temp root?

Search for "mobi.pruss.superdim" on the Playstore (sorry, I'm not yet allowed to post links) works fine with my (rooted!) Sensation.
In the "Other Lights" section it shows the Amber and the Green LED, the camera light and the Button Lights, all with "system default", "on" and "off" as options.
Other hack applications disabled the automatic light-sensitive feature of the button lights or made them glow all the time even with the screen off. This is the first I found that has the option to go back to system default without messing up the phone.
Your phone gotta be rooted, though.

Hi,
Is there anyway to make the soft keys stay on all the time when the screen is on? I searched all over for this answer and I found a bunch of apps and tweaks that work on other phones but none for ours.
My Light/Proximity sensor don't work , as I confirmed with androsensor. So my button lights never turn on. When I flash a new rom sometimes they work for a few hours or till I restart then never turn on again. They also work when im in recovery. I also just now tried a CM9 rom and found out if I adjust the brightness they lights turn on until I turn off the screen then they go off.
Only tweak I could find for our build.prop is
"ro.mot.buttonlight.timeout=0"
Which didnt help me.
Thanks in advanced
as i know you can control it with kernel file.but i dont know to edit it.ask it from a kernel developer (flaux, or sebestian)

Thanks I'll shoot them a message
Guess I'll bump this thread with a little update.
Sent a PM to every kernel dev for the sensation.
1 is busy working on his first android app
1 is willing to research it and if he figures it out will compile something
1 is confident he could do it but is busy and its something he wouldn't want in his kernel.
Will update it if anyone succeeds and I know there are a few people looking for this feature.
I'm glad the community is responsive

@HexDemon:
Did you try this app? I've been running it and it fixes it perfectly (link below). My lights don't work at all otherwise. LeeDroid Tweaks will either turn them ON or OFF, not let them be controlled automatically. The newest versions of LD Tweaks (4.2/4.3) don't let them turn on AT ALL and the Devs are not interested in answering my questions there either. Other users have gotten involved though thank God, but no answers really.

My Proximity and Light Sensors are also ****ed......and no fixes that work to date.
I'm willing to pay $$$ to whoever can find a fix that will STICK! (I am dead serious!)
hi, there is an app or a mod\tweaks that allow to turn on the screen (without unlock) when a notification arrives and when the screen turns off (after 5/6 seconds) the led continue to blink until the notification will read?? I use ROM based on 4.2.2. I found SCREEN NOTIFICATION (on play store) works but... when the screen turns off the LED stop to blink!!!!:crying:
thanks for the advice! :fingers-crossed:

I know there's options in Tweaks when you have a custom ROM on a rooted phone. However, give this a whirl! It's completely free from the play store: look up SMS WakeUp it sounds like what you're looking for, not sure if it does the notification light like you wanted, but i'd imagine it would. I haven't posted more than 10 posts here, otherwise I'd post the link here.
Let me know if it works.
With Tasker you can do that, I think, in Secure Settings plugin there is an option to wake up the screen, and as I remember, there is also a function to let the led blink.

There isn t any ROM tweaks. And SMS wakeup doesn t let the led blinking when the screen turn off.
Profile is activated when notification comes in, then if Screen is off -> Secure Settings Screen on, wait 5 seconds and Notify LED. Maybe you can add something that the Notification will be deleted when read. This is just created on my mind, if I knew how to export a profile I will try to do one for you

Has anyone been able to get Light Flow to work on the OnePlus One? I like light flow a lot better than the CM notification center, but I just can't seem to get it to work.
Has anyone here getten it to work? If so, mind sharing your settings?
So far I've had one person say it worked and two not!
Can you try and see if led color tester by coolbeans works on the phone (with lightflow either not installed or disabled) and let me know if that works?
I'm interested in this as well. I enjoy Lightflow so much more than any of the other notification apps I've tried. I'll be heartbroken if it doesn't work...
i used lightflow with paranoid android and it works fine on my oneplus one chinese version

Hello. I'm a big fan of your work (been using on the N4 and N5).
I also have this app on my OnePlus One. I noticed that up until the most recent build that all my notifications were working. Gmail and stuff were all fine.
Is it me or did the latest build change something? When notifications come in I get a white light blinking. When I power my screen on and off again it seems like Light Flow then registers, and now I get green pulses.
I'm not sure if its the most recent build of Light Flow or if its because I added a second Gmail account). I am rooted so I'm on root mode, but maybe some of my settings are whacked?

Yep, have the same "issue". Before the last Update everything was fine..
No Light Flow issues here.
Just got my OnePlus One today. Installed, restored the app generated backup from my S4, good to go.
Some apps need to have their own LED setting disabled for LF to work properly since the last version.

I'm aware of this for some users and I've just pushed out an update (it should show in the play store over the next few hours) I've had a few people testing who had that issue and reports so far seem to be that it fixes that issue.

You sir are a hero. It no longer requires me to use Gravity Box UNC to override settings.
Question: Do you recommend for high end phones like the N5 and OPO to run in foreground or background? I see no issues with background on my OPO and the app doesn't get killed at all.
Second question: You're still going to roll out global settings someday right? Having to change speeds for every app is a bit annoying, or even custom blink settings.
Final question: Is it possible to adjust the brightness for the LED? I see a brightness option in the sleep options for night blinking, but adjustments for individual notifications? Would be nice to have global for this too

On the N5 I find it does work better with the option on, without it once every few days maybe it'll get killed off by android (which is fairly normal for any background service) so it'll miss a notification.

Yes that's still on the list. If google hadn't brought out android L I'd have been working on that, but I've had to divert my time to issues with that!

There's a global option for this (in lightflow, settings, general settings, led brightness), but not individual, you'd just have to use the custom color option at the moment.
Lightflow works for me.
I can't get LF working, or if it does work it just flashes white. I'm 100% stock/unrooted so is there anything else I need to activate to get it working? I had no issues with my previous Nexus 4/5 so it must be something silly!
EDIT: Reinstalled and seems to be working OK now, so obviously something I did wrong!
Thanks for the help @andrewpmoore
Is it possible to have the lights on even when the screen on? Is that the "Samsung direct mode?" I don't believe that worked on my other non Samsung devices, so I doubt it will work on the OPO.
I ask because CM's battery LED seems to by default remain on even when the screen is on or off.

Same here. Rooted. Locked bootloader. Dunno if it matters...
Correction! There seems to be a small glitch: At the end of Charging when switching to Charged it seems to start switching between Charging and Charged rather than just using the Charged notification.
I've a fix coming for switching between charged and charging.
What 'Device Settings' is everyone running to make this work? Is anyone using:
Direct Mode?
Samsung root mode?
Reset color before change?
Nexus 5 force LED reset?
For some reason mine works for a period of time than I start getting SMS's and it stops working. I restart the app, but it doesn't continue to work again. Not sure what's going on.

The Nexus 5 thing is the only box I have checked (must've been by default since I didn't do it).

Not having any issues... maybe backup your notification settings and then wipe and restore them. Ensure LF has the proper notifications access, etc.

Nope. Nothing. Tried to clear the cache and data. Tested the notifications and nothing... Checked Notification access and tried enabling root mode. Still nothing... Phone is stock though rooted.
