[Q] Frequency Bands - Honor 6, 6 Plus Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it possible to change Honor 6's frequency bands?
As I purchased the H6 via web, and in my country 4G band (850MHz) isn't supported.
Just to let you guys know, I checked related threats but none on this particular model. Thank you in advance.

[Q] Huawei Ascend Mate 7 LTE Bands

Can someone tell me which bands the phone supports. There has been conflicting information and I want to know if there are different models to look out for.
According to Huawei the phone will support FDD LTE band 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/20/28. However the China websites that are currently selling the phones only list band 1, 3 and 7. Is this a mistake or is this different model?
You ask Huawei?

THIS is why I'm waiting until someone figures this out. There's been a lot of discussion around this. Has anyone tried emailing Huawei and asking them?

band 1/3/7 is the only bands available in China, but when the phone is roaming(using on other carrier than CMCC, China Unicom or China Telecomm), all other bands are usable.
Not sure what you mean

Thanks, but what does that mean? You don't specify whether this will work on (as the question asked) on the AT&T US or the T-Mobile US networks for 4G and LTE capability.
If you can provide that information and backup as to where that can be found that this device is compatible and will work at 4G LTE speeds on the T-Mobile or AT&T US networks, I'd be a lot more sure about what i was getting.
Thank you though for responding.

I made a post on the main level of this thread, please go look.
Huawei's current offering of phones is NOT compatible with US 4G LTE bands, they will be releasing one soon (don't know when) that WILL be compatible.
I asked them directly and they responded from the manufacturer directly.
My suggestion, wait until they put out a US-compatible phone.
i don't know WHY none of the press bothered to point this out, useless in total if you ask me. They screamed and oohed and aahed over the device and failed to mention that the one being shown AND being produced currently is NOT compatible with the US-market. Another model that Huawei says is, will be released (no ETA).

Whatever bands it has are already unlocked. It doesn't have LTE bands for the US though.
Hello,
Thanks for the reply. I live in France. I need the band 20 (800mhz) so I'll wait GEM701L model is released ... If a developer could make the modem P8 (the same hardware) for MediaPad that would be great for all. a world phone to all networks ...

As it is not snapdragon, can it even be modeled to make additional bands?

H60-L04 (Bought in India) to H60-L01

Hi guys,
I bought my Honor 6 in India and am currently residing at the USA. As you would guess, only 2G works in my mobile. When I look up the frequency bands, H60-L01 has 3G (atleast) frequency bands which my network supports. Is it possible to install the ROMs of H60-L01 in H60-L04 variant? If I do install, will the 3G frequency bands of H60-L01 work in my phone? (I was googling about the frequency bands and people generally say that the mobiles might generally be capable of supporting multiple frequency bands, only, the software programming would restrict them to specific bands.)
If someone has the time to explain how/which hardware actually governs mobile data frequency bands (CPU, isn't it???) I'd be grateful.
Thanks a lot,
Jay

I doubt you'd be able to do that because its mostly a hardware setup. fixed radios and all. besides flashing another model or variants rom will definitely result in brick or bootloop

Hi Goldfin,
Thanks for your reply. I remember seeing some posts in this forum where people were given tutorials on changing Chinese Honor 6 to European model. That's why I asked.
Besides, is there a way to check the hardware's supported frequency in our mobiles?

If you mean bands, then yes.
Go search in google "will my phone work" and type what is your phone and everything else

Yes. It's more if changing region and language to have a less Chinese oriented ROM. And you can always check your phone specs on GSMarena to see what bands are supported per variant

How do I get more frequency working on an Indian version of S2?

So as y'all know, s2 and y2 is the exact model but differentiate from where it sales.
I got my y2 from India, currently back to Taiwan.
I wonder if there are any ways fore me to enable 900 MHz 2600Mhz LTE or 4G bands, as those two is what my cellular company provides. (Whereas my phone supports 850Mhz, 2100Mhz and all, but just not 900 MHz or 2600Mhz)
I have only found a thread with galaxy s5 I suppose, but I am a newbie here and I have absolutely no Idea what I should do.
Currently running Unlocked version MIUI 10, Android 9.
Btw, rooting wouldn't be a problem, just help me to get it working <3

I think it has been country and operator specific, different country and different operator has different result

I know that, but just asking whether there are anyway for me to add frequencies, else I would need to change a phone.

I don't know, this works or not, usually in "miui" there is a region menu...
Does effect nothing with region select
I have faced, for some reason, the frequency of my 4G cell phone being locked in my country, when I change regions, the problem is resolved

I know that what I need is a firmware edit (or whatever it calls)
, changing the settings obviously won't help.

Question S908U frequencies and bands

Hi
Can't seem to get a straight answer out of Samsung live chat.
Are the confirmed frequencies and bands of S908U published somewhere?
Check www.kimovil.com. Really great site to check bands and whether device will work in a certain country and /or carrier.

Is it reliable and accurate? eg 16gb ram.
I did see that beforehand but couldn't see where they sourced the frequency info from.
