[Q] Glass coming/popping out

Hey all, I just wanted to put a question out to see if anyone else may be experiencing this issue. I got my I9003 last year in March and after few months I noticed that the display Glass/Screen is coming out or slightly popping out of the frame of the phone on the top edge. It appears as if it is put on with adhesive that is not working to well. The bottom edge feels good, the edge is slightly up beyond the glass, but on the top edge, the glass is coming above the level of the edge. Initially, it was very slight, and the glass would go inside to fit in the frame when i push it. But recently, the problem has amplified, the difference between the glass and the frame has increased much, and the MAIN PROBLEM is that due to a small gap on the top, dust has entered and my front camera is all filled with dirt. Now I fear that if dust enters above the sensors (proximity and light), that would make the the phone quite less useful.
I would appreciate it if anyone else has noticed this if they could let me, and others know. And also if the the phone can be replaced in guarantee period for this problem (manufacturer's defect).
Thanks.

No, the phone is kept/handled with utmost care and LOVE
Never dropped it even 1 feet distance. This problem, as i mentioned earlier, was since long time back, but only it gets into my notice more often now, just because of the dirty camera.
i noticed same thing not from fall.right top edge of glass.

Thanks for the tip.
Will visit soon and explain them (with extras). Lets see if they replace, or at least fix it.
Sorry for bumping, but i'd just like to report that i'm also experiencing this. Apparently the same thing happened with some galaxy tab's too.
I am the oldest user of i9003 bought the 1st lot of phone made on 4th Feb 2011 but since then never heard of this problem, seems a particular batch problem with sicking glue.
Take it to service center either they will repair it of replace it.
took it to the service center. they didn't replace the phone in whole but they changed the front panel, which holds the LCD (they said that the LCD is not separate but comes with the panel), with the LCD. anyways, i'm happy that the package feels nice touch and hold now
How much time it will take to fix it by service center

I took it on a Saturday. They told me they'll fix it by the coming Tuesday. Although I could collect it only on the next Saturday.
Even i noticed this.
Planning to take it to the centre, should I as a precaution remove all mods, root n stuff before giving it to them

[Q] Horrible creaking

So I've had my phone for 3 months now and its awesome. There's just one bloody problem...it creaks at the bottom near the soft keys and USB charger slot.
Has anyone had this problem? I'm not sure how to fix it.
The problem has been there since the beginning but it was confined near the usb charging slot and I only noticed it when I held the phone with one hand. So I put a case on it which minimized it but its progressively getting worse. It now creaks through the case as well. Without the case it is really sqeeky.
I dont feel like returning it for this...not sure if they will even indulge me. But its only been 3 months and its getting worse. It might be quite bad in a year's time. It does not affect any function but annoys the hell out of me everytime i pick it up.
I thought I would ask here if anyone can give me any advice. What would you do?
No squeek on mine and I've had it since launch. Sorry, I have no advice. But that would bother me too.
I remember this happening on an old PSP of mine back in the day. after a year of the annoying creaking i couldn't take it and opened it up and smothered the area of creaking with super glue. doubt you'd do that to your SR though..
Brick and get a new phone
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
3 months I don't think they'd give you a new phone. 30 days you might have a chance. I returned mine within 3 days because right below the power button I could feel where the two halves met. It bugged the hell out of me. The sales guy looked at me like I was nuts, but after walking him around to compare mine to the floor models he agreed to exchange it.
Go back to wherever you got it and see what they are willing to do, or brick it.

don't!!!! If you send a bricked phone to Samsung for warranty from Rogers, especially after 3 month use, all it will do after 4 weeks they will send it back say there is water damage(there is always little water damage inside so you can't prove otherwise) so they don;t have to give you a new one and you will end up with a bricked phone, $400 quote to fix it, $30 charge if you decline fixing it and you have not used it for a month.
Just take it to local cellphone repair shop they will fix it for $20.
Yeah I kinda expect bricking is not the wisest move for Rogers. I didn't return it early on because the problem was virtually unnoticable. I also remember waiting for about a week or two for this phone to be delivered and it was such a long time for me because I couldn't wait , and I didn't want to go through that again.
Might check out a repairshop... or if anyone knows a really tight case, I might try that too. I'll try superglue experimentation on it when its old and worth much much less lol.

Urgent-please help-white screen dot

Hi guys,
I got my XL yesterday but I have just noticed a bright white small dot appears on my screen on black background but it is not visible in other colors
Is it a dead or stuck pixel ? Really needs help regarding that so I can check with the store to replace it if it is a defect

Try doing factory reset and check if it's going .
But I think it's a defect , So rush to Sony Service center soon and get the device "Replaced" .
If customer finds a defect in Sony mobiles within a week , then they have a policy to replace the device.

Thank you for your reply but I got it from a local shop.Do you think it can get worth or it may affect my phone ? I have read some posts saying that if it is not annoying you and you can live with it;then don't replace it.I am really afraid this option will be also hard as it was last piece available in the store and I believe it will be hard to replace it ?
PS: it is really so tiny white dot but I don't know if that means something wrong is there or just a small defect ?
and thanx again for your reply

have it replace, asap! that tiny white dot should not be included with the purchase of your unit.
a defect is a defect. if thats the last piece available. ask for a full refund. it could be the last piece because it has already been checked by someone and didn't get it.
btw, have you checked if the box is sealed and opened in front of you?
just my 2 cents.

First of all-thanx for your reply but all I meant that I have checked many stores in my area and they don't have it
So the problem now that I don't want another phone nor a refund. Also I don't trust repair center as they may get it worse !
It really doesn't annoy me but the only question I am worried it can be worse or affect my phone in the future ?
and again-really thank you guys-your community always helpful for android noobs like me :good:
if its ok with you or it doesn't matter you, then its fine.
my point is, of course we bought it with our hard earned money. we deserve to have it defect free.
I believe, it comes with a warranty? if it does goes worst. then have it warrantied

Yes it is really hard earned money but the point I am worried about if it can get worse through the warranty and is it dangerous or a sign of a bigger problem ? Waiting for you advice
PS: I love this phone and it is perfect for me - I don't even want to replace it with Galaxy S3 Mini which I believe is not as good as Xperia L

I came from S3 mini before having this Xperia L. All I can say is, XL is way way better than my previous one.
Rest assured that your XL will do fine, if your ok with that little tiny white dot. Unless of course bigger problem arises. Then thats the time you bring it for warranty. Sony service center will take care of it.
Does the store have the 7 days replacement policy or a full refund? If yes, I'd rather bring it back and wait for a replacement or have it refunded. And buy with other stores. For you to have peace of mind with your beloved XL.
Good luck.

Big issue screen!!!!!

Hi everyone, i've noticed that this device is very very weak on the body ..
Let me exain this correctly..
2 days ago i drop my A9 from my bed to the floor ( 50 cm) and the screen turn into a very ugly face... i mean pixel issue like old television when u search frequencies..
I was very scary and i noticed that i just needed to make a pression on the screen to get back the clean pixels and the normal screen..
I think i must get back the A9 to HTC to get another one or repair it..
But this thing is very very weird...
First time i get this kind of things from an HTC device...

I beleive It was a big fall which causes the big issue
If it's unlocked u.s version then it's covered under oh'oh warranty
HTC A9 is very beautiful device but the glass is curved 100% covering the front facing of the phone
This gives absolutely no chance if it falls on any side of the front
Good luck

It was very weird because the falling was very small.. i was amazed when i saw how much this device is weak..my old m7 had a big fall and never turn this way.. personally i'm from france andhtc told me to send the device to get it repair but personally i prefer to get a new one.. but it's impossible in my case because i bought it on Cdiscount and they told me that the warranty is available only for the htc themselves..
Now i wonder if i send it to repair or keep the device and buy a case :/..

pink line of death

I've got the pink Line of Death.
Its a pink Line vertical from the top to the bottom.
This Problem is already known from Samsung but Not official agreed.
Anyone has this Problem too?
It looks like this
Mine did that yesterday, only a faint line in the same place but not as strong as yours. I powered off for 5 minutes but it was still there. 5 minutes later it was gone and hasn't reappeared since. Odd.
Thats Not my mobile, but it kinda looks like this
Hope that the next Samsung Service Point can repair this due to my guarantee
I find this weird that this issue pops up now after a year and when the S8 is about to launch
My previous S7E had that line on the screen. It is a physical damage, because the line appeared and disappeared when I pressed in the area of the frontal camera. Previously the screen was broken after a fall from my jeans bag.
My phone was stolen on the bus, at least the thief took it with the broken screen and the pink line of death.

With an avatar like that, I cannot trust your judgement
I had this issue over Christmas, really annoying and it got worse if you applied any pressure around the Samsung emblem. I thought my number was up as I'd rooted and the knox was obviously tripped. I took it into my local network provider shop as a first port of call. They told me they have their own repair service which doesn't involve using Samsung so they sent it off. I still expected a comeback on the knox but when I went in to speak to them a week or so later I was told they couldn't repair it and I was handed a brand new S7 Edge. Bonus as the old one was from launch day last March.
Just to say I was told it's a well known solder joint issue at the top of the screen, which is why applying pressure around the Samsung emblem makes it worse and why the line is always in exactly the same place. It can only be fixed with a hardware repair or replacement, nothing you can do with software will fix it, nor will any sort of reset.

Apply pressure around the Samsung name/earpiece, I reckon you will see it reappear. Either way it will be back, it's a hardware fault which might start as an intermittent issues but eventually will be a constant.

Awesome! I had the same issue but then I accidentally put the phone through the wash and had to claim on insurance. They replaced the phone with one that was manufactured in October and *touch wood* I haven't had the issue on this one so far.

Just checked and mine was manufactured the end of November. Hopefully if the pink line was caused by a design fault it had been rectified before either of our new phones were made.

That's exactly what I was thinking. The issue was probably only with the earlier released devices. My brother got his around June time and has the pink line. Unfortunately he smashed his screen and cannot claim.
the same pink line problem started yesterday.. in the morning afte rplaying with those color buttons after entering code, lines went off. However when i press on top part of the phone, the line still appears... may the service decline repair since the phone is rooted?
Beefheart has got a new Phone with root
But through my phone network repair service, rather than Samsung.
