will the 4.4.2 update be received by all nexus 5 regardless of country or do they need to be approved by my mobile carrier in order to get the update??
Cause I'm currently using a D821(international) version of nexus 5 but my country hasn't officially got the phone yet, so I'm wondering will I get it when my country doesn't have the phone for sale yet.
thanks

Please read OTA helpdesk sticky thread in general.
since tmobile and samsung are taking their sweet time to update the software, i was curious if there's a way to update 930T version phone myself? i see there's rom available to flash via odin for 930F, but is there a way to do it on the T-Mobile version 930T? thanks!
Nope. These are 2 different versions.
Hello i had my unlocked s7 930a for 1.5 years now... it's getting slower so i want to update it... as i don't live in the states i dont get at&t official updates so i've been stuck in marsmallow...
My questions are...
do i have to update to nougat before updating it to oreo?
is there any detailed tutorial to update the phone?
i saw a few ones but i couldn't find those answers...
Go to the ATT forum and grab the 930U firmware and flash it. I'm on the latest 930U and it's way faster than ATT firmware
Hi,
I used to live in US and got an S9 plus from AT&T. I moved to India (in July 2018), got it unlocked by getting the unlock code and procedure legitimately from AT&T. Put a Vodafone India sim card. It works fine since but I have not received a single update since. Last update is June 2018.
In sw information Service Provider SW version shows
SAOMC_SM-G965U_OYN_ATT_OO_0073
.......
ATT/ATT/ATT
As I use this phone for work, our company mobile management tools prevent the use of rooted phones. How can I start receiving official OTA updates without tempering with the legit status of the device.
Thanks.

Because Vodafone does not offer updates for your model number. The carrier controls the updates and which devices are supported via update. Your device is not a Vodafone device, it is an AT&T device being used on the Vodafone network. If the original AT&T US stock firmware version is working fine, you should be able to download any updates that are available for your specific model number and then flash them manually.

Thank you for the answer. What will be the legitimacy status of the device after that? How do I flash manually an update? Do I need to use Odin or similar, since Samsung tools look at the CSC?
Thanks for your help!

Yes, use Odin. Find the updated firmware, just make sure it is for your specific model number and your region/carrier.

What will be the legitimacy status of the device? And where can I find a legit fw for G965U ATT. I couldn't find any so far.
Thank you for your help!
Hi all. I have currently bought Galaxy s8 active to use it in Europe - Poland. It is a sprint / tmobile U variant. I have checked with samfirmware and since it's on G892USQS5BSF2 version - I assume it's a sprint version. It is hard to determine as they are both coded G-892U. Anyways the phone works well but the security patch is from last year and it's still on android 8. There apparently is an update to Android 9 but the phone won't update via OTA. And so are the questions:
1. Since they both are the "U" versions - can I flash the tmobile android 9 rom on it? I am asking because it's being used in tmobile Poland network.
2. If not, can someone reassure me that it indeed is a sprint version and flashing the latest sprint rom will do no damage?
3. Any idea why the caller id and spam protection option is grayed out? Is this because of regional limitation?
Thank you
