Check that the md5 matches that provided by the download page. It seems most likely that you just have a bad download.

I downloaded and re downloaded every single rom its just i cant flash any new rom in twrp..

What version of twrp r u using, and what's the error?
You also never confirmed checking md5.. You can redownload all day long but without md5 match there is no confirmation of full correct download.

Latest version of twrp.. i found the issue..i downloaded fluent rom, check md5 on computer it was matching then i transfered it to phone memory it was fine but soon i transfered that to sd it chnaged. Dont know what the issue is.

Glad you got it figured out my friend!
Could be the USB cord going bad, or possibly the HTC drivers needing updating.

can i install Rom from Phone internal Memory or it will wipe it ?

You could put it on the internal memory and use the file manager from within twrp to move it over to the sd card.

Guys good News cause of all problem was my samsung 64GB class10 SD card . I have to use partiton editor on pc to make new partition FAT32 with 32kb custer. Problem solved no more E:/ file corrupted error. Thank you very much for help and support.

[Q] No way out of Bootloop + 'can't open /sdcard/update.zip (bad)' error

Ok..so I've been using HTC explorer for 2-3 months and everything was going fine but the low internal memory kept bugging me so I rooted the phone (i delayed rooting because it voids warranty..)..I deleted the pre installed apps and all other unnecessary crap..but the internal memory was still low so I went for factory reset..:|..and thats how you get into bootloop but searching for solutions..i found that my problem can be solved by flashing new rom..so I downloaded 1 and flashed it (yes i followed all the steps like creating ext4 partition and wiping cache etc).. but suddenly 'can't open /sdcard/*rom*.zip (bad)' popped up..so I went through the forums but didn't found any approved solution but suggestions like re downloading the rom..or checking if signature verification is off or flashing any other rom..i tried all of them..i retried re downloading the rom..I tried flashing cm 9..explode^1..Jaggyrom..even the stock rom but nothing positive happened..I am clueless..Please Help...
What recovery did you flashed, another thing, try with another sd card, or repartiotion this one through recovery after that get some rom on it. If you have a card reader, check if the card is ok.
And don't rename zip's live them with their original names.

i flashed with A310e recovery...and the card is fine..I read somewhere to format the card with sdformatter and flash the rom from there and create the partition after the rom has booted..so i am trying that..I'll update you..thnx for reply btw.. :highfive:
Try installing CM10 Beta 2 on a clean, unformatted sd.
If that doesn't work, change your recovery.
Working fine
everything's alrite now..the thing that was causing the problem was the partitioned sd card...I removed partition and then flashed it and everything went well...

Oh, I know what happen...
The default "Backup" function change from ext-sdcard to int-sdcard,
so no space for it to create a backup file...
Therefore backup need choose the function of Backup to external sdcard.
Tested, backup & restore function are fine! Thanks!!! :good:
Thanks, about time we got some recovery love
Any bugs we should be aware of in this build?
seems to working perfect, thanks a lot
I cant backup to my sd card or flash zips from it. It says my external sd isnt mounted, and i get an error when i try to mount it in the recovery. Other than that everything works.
I get this Error, too, but a not completeBackup is on my external SD Card.
I have a folder clockworkmod/backup, in this Folder is another Folder with boot.img, cacheext4, dataext4, nandroid, recoverx, system but no Apps.

I can backup and restore without any problem's on my ExternalSd.
Please check if your sd card is formated as exFAT.
Official Clockworkmod doesn't support exFAT formated sdcard's.
what does silence mean here? does it mean it is so stable and all working good? does it flash themes and wiping properly?
as long as wiping, backup and restore works great on this I think it this is good news. Trying this out.

I'd say so! If there's something wrong with it, you'd hear about it by now.

As I said in the other thread, you're using exFAT which isn't supported.
Also, there is an official CWM 6.0.2.8 now, look here. (his tar has the wrong version number in its filename, it actually is 6.0.2.8)

Sorry, I don't want to come across as annoying but I really am not using exFAT, as I have explained on the other thread. FAT32 was used with a cluster size of 32kb.

my phone GT I9100. I formatted by my phone under ics on my 64gb cl10 card was fat32 about year ago. Recently I upgraded to jb due to boot loop peoblem, I wipe my phone including formatting msd card. This time it formatted to exfat and many problems I had encountered cwm and mobile odin no recognised it. So I should said for 64gb msd, under ics format by phone was fat32. Under jb it will be exfat.
Send via i9100 using XDA premium,
ROM: Stock XWLSD
Kernel: Phil XWLSD V4.35
superSU 1.04
Can you re-upload recovery Odin version (link is broken on the fist page) ?
Or how change cwr version to odin version ?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks for port. The recovery won't mount sdcard though so cannot sideload anything. Why is that?

[Q] unable to open zip in TWRP

Hi, I've been trying to hunt down an answer to my problem with no avail, hopefully someone here can help. I've a rooted Huawei y300 0100 back on factory stock again.
My problem is this after I rooted (went fine first time doing this) installed TWRP created backups, Flashed Fusion x rom no problems at all, found a few bugs thought I would try another ROM, restored my stock from twrp saved backups all good I thought...
Upon re entering recovery everything is fine, factory wipe etc then when it comes to installing any ROM I get the message E: cannot open zip. This happens on any ROM I try, so I know its not the file, file can also be opened on PC and phone explorer.I've formatted the external SD card and re-downloaded ROMs still nowt.
I would just use the stock again and run a new launcher and delete the bloat myself but I can't get Orbit working at all now I'm rooted and back on factory stock when it was working fine on fusionx and orbit/Pandora are pretty much what I did all this for
Any ideas would be appriecated as I'm pretty noobish at this.
Would installing cwm over the top of twrp work?
Do I need to do a special kind of wipe in case of file corruption?
Solved, after some fiddling got flashing working again. What worked for me was to redownload the file direct to internal SD and flashing from there. Downloading anywhere else ie PC or ext SD and copying across still gave same error. Not sure why but I've flashed 3 ROMs today without issue this way. Hope this helps anyone else who encounters this.

ABSOLUTELY confirmed. I was trying it for days. After finding this post, direct downloading to sdcard worked for me.

yeeah... thank you bro
I also had problems with "unable to open zip file" and "bad" errors, seemed to be fixed by formatting a spare 4gb MicroSD to FAT and making sure it was the first thing copied to the SD card. I was using PHILZ recovery, but I'd assume that TWRP will work just as well. I have a suspicion it may have something to do with file fragmentation or maybe allocation block size. Before this I checked MD5SUMs on a few MicroSD cards and they were all perfect, so it wasn't a download or copy corruption, the bootloader just has an issue with the file or filesystem for some reason.
Can confirm. Was having trouble installing Boeffla 3.0 kernal on gnabo 4.4.2 (v8). ( samsung galaxy note 10.1 n801x / n8013 )
Deleted the zips I downloaded, then re-downloaded straight to zip. installed like a boss!
Thanks!
This is a most underrated thread.
Just had the same issue with my old Galaxy S3. Needed to copy the zip directly to internal storage via mtp in twrp.
In newer twrp version it shows zip file corrupt instead of unable to open zip.

[Q] Did I brick my tab?

Alrght, so I was trying to get my tab back to original software and I read online to wipe EVERYTHING on the system in CWM. After that I tried to re-boot the syste and it's stuck on Samsung Logo screen. I am able to get into CWM but I tried to install the latest version of CWM and the installation aborted. Staus 7 error. t won't show up o my computer either. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP !
it seems that you forgot to read the line of the instructions where it was strongly suggested to ALWAYS have a nandroid backup or at least a ROM ready to be flashed! Can you reach the main memory in order to put a file in it?

1st where' the an memory and 2nd I can use my external SD car to put files but other than that when I try to mount "system" on my PC it doesn't show.
1) please specify the model of your tab, 2) as far as I've understood the tab supports an SD card as ext memory isn't it? 3) is your CWM fully working? (why d'you wanted to flash it again?)

Can't find .zip files in TWRP, now I can't flash anything...

Hello there,
I was in the middle of installing recovery, root and a custom ROM on my SM-T210 (Galaxy Tab 3 7"), when the title happened. I don't think the issue is device related though, so that's why I'm posting here.
I have StockRom Kitkat Version 1.7 (not the stock rom, that's just what it's called) installed at the moment, but I didn't like it so I wanted to go for Supernova (2.1) and flash that. This would've worked if TWRP didn't suddenly stop being able to see my files in internal storage...
My device isn't encrypted so that's not the issue. Does anyone have any idea what is going on?
Hello,
Make sure you are mounting system and data
Make sure zip files type is selected and not IMG files
Try moving to SD card and try to see if it's there if you have one
Reflash twrp -make sure it's the latest twrp-
Then boot into it, flash rom

Thank you very much sir, using an SD card did it for me! TWRP was already the newest one I could use so that wasn't an option, the other 2 tips I also already tried.
