Help! [solved] - Moto G 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, Im new to all this rooting stuff and whilst in twrp recovery, I accidentally wiped my OS. Please help me, My phone is now a potato and have no clue what to do.
My phone is a Moto g xt1072
I can access twrp and bootloader
Also my phone was stuck on the bootloader animation on the start up, this was the reason i accidentally wiped my OS
And also i do not own an sd card for my phone yet, So using that method is out of the equation

Hey I hope you have all your important files and other data clouded or backed-up somewhere. Sounds like you bricked your phone, and sounds like you have a moto g 2nd gen (Titan). Here's a link to the thread on factory firmware images: forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/moto-g-2014-factory-firmware-images-t2869485
I recommend looking for the factory firmware image for your xt1072 and flashing. You'll get a fresh boot (like a factory reset), so make sure you have a back-up of any important files prior to doing this. In TWRP recovery you might be able to see files, but that might not be too useful without being able to copy them to a computer. You'll likely find more relevant info on threads that are related to your phone model. Good luck.

Cheers man, I shall try and give this a go.... I didn't backup anything :crying:

Ok, so i have downloaded the factory xt1072 file from what i found on the thread you sent me. How do i install it on my device

Your best bet is taking this to the moto g 2nd gen (Titan) section on the forum, other users of the same phone would be better help for this.

have you tried to download some rom to your SD and try to flash it?

ollieshikarii would need to be able to transfer a file to the SD card (internal storage), which I think requires being able to boot the phone.
Rule of thumb, keep all important data on a phone backed up to the cloud, and larger files on a memory card if possible.

[Q] Accidentally wiped my system.. Help!!!

1st of all, i am a beginner. Just brought my android ics phone last month. I also rooted my phone by the help of my friend last week. But yesterday i was trying to restore factory settings. But i accidentally wiped my system. And now my phone wont boot. It stuck in BootScreen. Nothing happens then. I dont have the backup of my rom. what to do now ??? Please help!! Sorry for my bad English & Thanks in advance who wanna help me
..
What recovery are you using? Even if you wiped the phone you should still have it running. All you need to do is reboot in recovery mode. Hard to tell you how as I dunno what the phone is.
Before that you'll need to download your stock firmware and put it on the root directory of your SD card if you have one, so that once in recovery you'll actually have something to flash.
If the phone doesn't have a SD slot, then you'll need to use a recovery tool on your PC to flash it.
Right now shut the phone down, remove the battery, find some guides specific about your phone, and read them carefully. There's a reason why we're using recoveries. First thing you should have done is to backup your stock firmware somewhere on your computer or on the cloud, and make sure you knew how to use it if something like that was to happen... Little late for that now.
When you'll know what to do, just mind that you still have enough battery to flash the stock ROM. Come back to ask help here if there's something you don't understand. Good luck!

No problem. Just install this partition manager free. It is perfectly adapted for windows 8. And you are offered a variety of options which can swap/merge/separate new partitions. With a very easy-to-understand instructions, everything is perfect!
Thanks for kindly reply

[Q] Help with an LG G2

Hello ladies and gentlemen,
I've got a problem, you may laugh.. but if prefer you don't
I have been rooting my LG G2 and all that went perfect untill once i wanted to flash a new file onto my LG G2 device. So i wanted to wipe the cache, but by mistake i wiped the internal storage aswell.
Now being the problem is that there are no back-ups left on the phone nor are there any flash-able files left because its all erased.
How do i fix this? How can i get a flash file onto my phone? My pc doesn't recognize it. TWRP is bootable though so in my logics if i just get a file on there so i can flash that ( CloudyG3 for example ) I am done right?
Hope my english wasn't so bad and hope you can understand what my problem is !
Thanks in advance!

[HELP]Any chance to recover the data of user storage of OPO? - (LOGO-)Bricked Oneplus

Hi guys,
sadly I was able to brick my OPO. First of all don't need any comment that "how could you so stupid..."
If you can't help, than don't post, but if you have any constructive idea please share.
I started this thread because have seen many users with the same problem.
After some research I found what is the root cause of the bricking. There was BlissPop rom (cm12 based) on my OPO. I wanted to change the bootlogo according to this description. Unfortunately I misunderstood, that it is good for CM11 and CM12 also. So I flashed the boot logo, than brickkkkk. f..kkkkkkk
So the case is that if you flash the CM11 boot logo on CM12 you brick your phone. But hard brick. There is no recovery, no fastboot. Only vibration if you press power for long time. And I realised with external VA meter that I can charge the phone (which is good news).
I've found 2 solutions how to get back to life my OPO:
1. This thread by @netbuzz is one. That tool will install Color OS on the phone.
2. This thread by @Zyxxeil
I followed the first one, but haven't done the flashing yet. So the tool sees my pone, and I have the hope that it will work.
BUT
my big problem, that not all my pictures were not backed up, and my nandroid and titanium backup... So quite valuable infos for me. But mostly the pictures about my 3 months old son
So do you know any method, or anybody what/who could help me to recover the internal storage? (At motorola defy it was easy: just remowed the sd card, copied everything to pc, and ready. But this internal memory is pain in the ass )
I assume if I flash the Color OS it will wipe everything. What I don't want.
Possible solutions according to me:
1. extract the whole memory image even bit by bit, and on computer run a recovery software. Without fastboot is it possible? With the above mentioned tools? Any idea?
2. get fastboot at least, and then extract the memory image, than flash my original rom's partitions except userspace, So like this maybe it won't be overwritten/wiped and hopefully it is not corrupted.
OK, but how to get fastboot? Maybe the above mentioned second tool could do something for me, because as I know it is he same as the first, just the op modified it to flash CM11s instead of Color OS. So if he could modify it to flash my original rom's partitions except userspace, it could work? Couldn't??? Or leave it flash CM11s without userspace. Or just flash the necessary partitions to have fastbot, than the 2nd solution (extract the memory image through adb).
I've seen the img files in the first tool's folder on my pc, but I'm not sure that only deleting and replacing the files at the tools folder on pc works or not to change the content of the flash.
So this is all I could gain until now. I am not completely noob, but, but...
Please help me! Any help will be highly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks guys!
I have a similar problem. I need to recover the data from my hard bricked OPO. The only diffence is that the wires connecting the screen are broken. The screen will never work, but the only thing I need is to recover the data. Did you ever figure out a way to do it?

Hi,
Did you find out how to recover your data ?

Rooted and bricked without a custom recovery.

rooted bricked boost mobile moto G. 4.4.4. i messed up my phone while editing "build.prob" with es root file i believe and when i was done editing i clicked on the folder looking icon on the top right corner which i thought was enter/save but itwas something else that rearranged the letters after it booted i only got bootloader unlocked warning screen and a plain black screen after and thats it however i can also get to the the fastboot menu. so any way can i get my phone back with maybe just using adb and fastboot. i just rooted my phone like a week ago so never got to play around with it so i have alot to catch up with on terms and research dont worry i'll look up what you tell me to do rather than keep on asking how how and how. well guys hope you can help me thank you.

Hello, and thank you for using XDA Assist!
Quite possibly my easiest problem of the night.
Your bootloader is unlocked. So....flash custom recovery. One that can do adb as well (unless you Moto G also has an SD card slot, but if we are talking about the original 2013 model, then one won't be there).
Then, reboot into recovery. Make a backup. Pull the backup files to your PC (either by adb or MicroSD, if available). Extract the system backup file (is a tarball) in a Linux filesystem. Fix up your build.prop mistakes. Tar system back up, and bundle the backup as a second set to push back to your device. Restore that backup (need only be system partition). Profit.
Any further questions, can ask in the following thread (assuming you have the 2013/1st gen non-LTE version - otherwise reply here with variant details for further instructions):

No problem.
USB debugging being off is only a consequence if planning to ADB in from system. Recovery has it's own rules.
Not sure about the "cannot unarchive" message, but if you can get the stock ROM, that's a viable option as well.

Hello,
Fastboot is unable to flash zips unfortunately. That's the recoveries job.
If you can find fastboot images of stock, you can flash back that way.
Especially at this point, I would urge you to take advantage of the help thread I mentioned earlier. They know more about your device (particularly what's available and what not) they I would.
Hope this helps!

Asus TF101 - Recovery - Stuck on Boot

Hi
I bought some electronics at an auction and there was a Asus TF101 included in the lot. After reading about the unit I thought it would be great for personal use. I ordered a charger online an I tried it but it gets stuck at the boot screen. If I try switching it off it just switches back on. I think this is a botched root job but I don't know what the previous owner did. I doubt it is hardware related though. It has Clockworkmod Recovery v6.0.1.3 installed and can boot into the recovery but honestly I am a bit lost at what to do next.
Attempts to wipe the data etc to reset the device has all failed. It seems it needs to be flashed so any help will be appreciated. While I am at it I was thinking of going for one of the newer roms here on XDA available for the device.
Update: I wiped the user data and got the unit reset but now it boots straight into the clockworkmod app
Thanks!

I did see that and I have done some more reading since I posted here. Will I be able to upgrade from Clockwork to TWRP 2.8. if the unit doesn't boot?
Also I got an error saying that the sdcard cannot be mounted. I know this is the internal storage and not the actual sd card.

That one worry less, was worried something hardware wise was faulty.
This may sound like a stupid question (definitely newbie question) but if I cant access the internal storage how am I going to copy TWRP onto the internal storage and run the install from clockwork?

Sorry it has been a long time since I used Clockwork, but does it not see the external removable sd card? Or try the adb push method if the CM version will support.

No after some blood sweat and lots of foul language I got 4.4.4 loaded just to dicover the lcd has a nice shade of green ..... So LCD = another $30... lol I am so deep in...... Anyway started a new thread just to check if anybody else had the same problem and whether in fact it is the LCD that faulty
Oh just For info... I used EasyFlasher to get TWRP 2.6 onto the Unit with a very nice step by step guide for a newbie like me here
:http://www.transformerforums.com/fo...t/31927-frederuco-s-guide-root-rom-tf101.html
I then Used Kisskat 4.4.4 here at XDA forums to flash the Unit. Lollipop was not happy with the older version of TWRP
