* Origami cover folds into landscape, portrait and a typing display
* Smooth polyurethane cover with soft non-scrach interior

* Magnetic front cover
First Impressions & Packaging
The case was packaged nicely with a retail package that indicated it contained a quality product inside. It is obvious from the packaging alone that roocase takes pride in its products. I'm not a packaging expert, nor a advertising expert so I will not give this a star rating. However, I was VERY pleased with how it looked before opening the package. Sometimes, most times I feel compelled to throw away product packaging, but this is not one of those times. I'm keeping the packaging as long as I keep the case. Besides, I found a use for it, as it is storing my Samsung Simple case now, LOL.
Second Impressions & Case Design
(4.5 out of 5)
Holding the case for the first time was a WOW moment for me. It is clearly the nicest case I have ever owned for a tablet. I love the design and the flexible top cover which slightly over hangs the edges when closed. The cover can be put into so many different positions that I actually lost track, lol and not only that it has a stand mode that is just absolutely perfect for fetal position bed reading (which I do a LOT in the middle of the night), without needing something propping it up. Sadly, the Samsung Slim case could NOT do this at all and I found that to be the #1 reason to not use the Samsung case. I couldnt imagine a better design than origami case and trust me I spent nearly two months trying to mentally improve upon it. I give the design a 4.5 out of 5 stars mainly because I know they will find a way to make it even better, but how I do not know.
Usage
(4 out of 5)
I've been using this case for nearly 2 Months now and it has not disappointed. Folding and grasping the top cover in a handle like motion is just perfect while walking around with it (pic below), its like having a built-in easy to grip rubber handle, because well that is what it is. The usage and safe handling like this is near perfect for me. 4 out of 5 stars because I actually like having a cover strap to put my hand inside which is what my Nexus 7 case does. But I think a cover strap would be unwelcome by most users seeking a thin case.
Durability
(5 out of 5)
I really do not believe in giving a product a perfect score because with time EVERYTHING can be improved upon, which would suggest your perfect score was really not perfect after all. However, I have dropped my tablet once already onto a hard wooden floor by accident and was fully expecting a destroyed screen. And when I opened the top cover to see no damage what so ever I was surprised as it hit the floor pretty hard. So as for solidness I think this case is excellent and will give it a 5 out of 5 just because it survived a very hard fall from about 4 feet or more. However being as thin as it is I would NOT try dropping it intentionally. I probably just got lucky, YAY!
Fit
(4 out of 5)
The Tablet fits into the case near perfectly, however on the bottom right corner I find the tablet popping out of the case easily, almost too easy. If I try to remove the tablet from the case from any other corner I find it very tight and the case does not want to let go, however If I try to first pop it out from the bottom right it just comes out with NO effort, almost too easily in fact. Not sure if this is by design or a slight fit flaw but it seems like the bottom right corner just does not have the "snap" feel to it like the other corners do. Also, one note to mention, you must remove the case if you need to change out microSD cards. Overall I give the fit a 4 out of 5 stars.
Finish
(4 out of 5)
The finish of this case could not be any better as I just love the feel to my hands (and to the eyes when cleaned), although I do find the back cover capturing every finger print like a law enforcement finger print scanner machine, haha. I have had to wash this case under warm water once already just because it felt like it was sapping oils out of my hands, lol. Also the inside of the top cover, which is a light grey colored rubber material on mine, likes to darken from holding it which is surprising because I am a hand washing addict, maybe to the point of being a germaphobe. Yes I wash my hands probably 15-20 times a day but that hasn't stopped the cover from getting darkened quite a bit in the fold areas where skin contacts it the most. Either this is dirt (I doubt it though) or a better explanation would be hand oils that is trapped inside the rubber material because washing it did not restore the darkened areas to light grey. Also, one little note I almost forgot to mention, because the top inside cover is a rubber material with a honey comb texture, this texture leaves a slightly annoying design on the screen which has me wanting to wipe the screen down far too often, after every openeing in fact. Maybe the top inside cover would be better if it was made from a microfiber material? Over all I give this case a 4 out of 5 for its beautiful finish when cleaned.
My thoughts after 2 Months of use
Well I must say that I think the ONLY thing that can be improved would be weight, and maybe material used for the inside of cover. For a Slim case I think it weighs a tad bit much. However for everyday use around the house or the office this is THE case to get. I love the black and grey color combination and the texture of this case is fantastic, however I'm not much of a fan of the honey comb marks it puts on the screen, but this can be ignored. Over all it is well worth the asking price and built like a tank without the weight of a tank. If only they made it almost exactly like this but with microfiber material for the inside of the top cover, that would have been my preference, not to mention dropping about 100 grams of weight off of it at least.
Overall I give this case a score of 4.5 out of 5 stars, as its just really that good!
Images below provided by roocase. Last one taken by me showing how I like to hold it, with its built-in handle. This is where the rubber material really comes in handy as its VERY solid and feels like its impossible to drop in this manner.

REVIEW: BodyGuardz "Full body" Skin

So I decided to purchase a full-body skin for my G2 after deciding I disliked all of the cases I'd tried for it. Didn't even fancy the Otterbox. I was going to get the StealthGuard one considering its price (or lack thereof), but apparently they're no longer available... so I went hunting on Amazon.
I'm not anal about the aesthetics of my phone, I'm more concerned about its proper function, so between this skin and the sleeve I put my phone in when it's in my pocket (the old G1 case, it fits the G2 perfectly if any of you guys have your old G1 accessories lying around anywhere), I don't think anything physically will be breaking on the phone anytime soon.
The selling point for me was that it came with 2 full skins. Knowing me, I was going to screw up at least one piece (and that I did!), so I didn't want to deal with contacting BodyGuardz and having them ship me replacement.
Here's what you get.
-2 "full-body" (quotes because it isn't really full-body - I will explain)
-little microfiber cloth
-good sized bottle of application solution.
-squeegee, which was basically a credit-card-thickness rectangular piece of plastic. I didn't even use it because I have something better (the hard rubber squeegee ZAGG gives you - much better)
Instructions are slim, you basically have to just know what to do.. not like it's very complicated, though. The provided diagram proved useful in a couple of instances. I was liberal with the application solution and worked from front to back. All of the pieces are relatively accurate to the phone's shape, and the only two corners that are fully exposed are the bottom left and right corners (if you are holding the phone portrait-style, screen facing you).
I also just gave up on the top-front portion that is applied just above the speaker grill. It is too small to be able to bend and stick (at least for me it was). I'm sure if you had a way of clamping it in place until the adhesive set, it would be fine, but I was too impatient.
The back was annoying because there are only two pieces: the battery cover piece, and then another single piece for the entire rest of the back (everything surrounding the battery cover). It was extremely difficult to get this lined up properly as one giant piece. I almost gave up and cut it into separate pieces, but I got it close enough and decided it was fine as-is. If I ever have to re-apply one of these, I will definitely cut it into separate pieces. I would recommend if you buy this skin, you do the same. Save yourself the frustration.
All in all, I'm happy with it. It does what I need it to do and I don't have to deal with additional bulk, which always gets on my nerves when you are using a case. Been two days since I installed it and bubbles are starting to go away and it's becoming more "natural" looking.
Pros:
-2 for 1, if you screw up, you dont have to wait for a replacement
-material gives you some added grip when you're holding the phone
-pieces fit well, despite the fact that it's not a 100% full cover it feels capable of protecting your phone from bumps and bruises with the exception of the two corners mentioned
-retains the sweet G2 stock look
-no bulk! doesn't affect z hinge function.
Cons:
-install of surrounding back piece and front top pieces are pull-your-hair-out frustrating.
-material is VERY prone to collecting smudges and fingerprints, especially if you have perpetual clammyhands like me.
-"glossy" look may be a turn-off for some people
-despite claims, it's not full-body protection
-~$30 shipped... but since it's 2 for 1, it's not that bad a deal if you ask me.
All in all, I give this product the thumbs up. I've tried numerous cases and finally decided this was a better route, and I feel like I made the right choice. The combination of this skin and my G1 sleeve makes for adequate protection with very little added bulk, just what I needed!

Good thing you didn't use the included "squeegee". I have the Bodyguardz dry type screen protector (screen only, not full protection). I applied it per the instructions using the included squeegee, and got 2 long scratches on the protector. Pretty sure the squeegee had some sharp protrusions on it that caused the scratches. They aren't too bad, and I can live with them. But next time I will use something else, or cover the squeegee with the microfiber cloth as i press the screen protector on (which I have read another user on these forums recommend).
Aside from that, I am overall satisfied with the Bodyguardz screen protector. The surface felt a bit tacky or sticky when sliding my fingers over it. But that seems to have mostly gone away after a couple weeks. As the OP mentioned, they are a bit prone to showing fingerprints, but not as bad a cheaper screen protectors. It adheres well with no air bubbles after careful application.
Good review, BTW. Thanks for taking the time to write it and post the pics.

The IBolt Car dock http://www.ibolt.co/ibpf-33306
This is a vary good dock. It is solid and fairly easy to operate, you can dock the phone with one hand even. I will say, when using with the 4 different cases I own, one hand operation becomes less realistic. The other big down fall is its looks. This dock is funky looking and way bigger than it needs to be. I will say that the suction cup is great. I have an older 1 ton truck that rides ruff to say the least, the suction cup and th pivot point nut have never failed or come loose.
Pros:
puts your phone in car mode
holds the phone well
works with and without a case (but not all cases)
Cons:
No audio out
Bulky and not vary good looking
harder to dock phone with cases
The Kidigi charging dock http://www.kidigi.com/product_lv2.php?pid=1388
this dock is the most asinine piece of equipment I have ever bought. I expected it to put my phone into some sort of desk or clock mode, at the vary least, a landscape launcher, but no. This dock is no more than a expensive fancy way to charge your phone. If you put a clock app on your phone, launch it, and then dock it, you will have a landscape clock but I could have done this my self with a cheap holder and a USB cable. I have tried this dock with ASOP builds, custom Sense builds, clock apps, this dock just does not trigger any "mode" and since, stock sense doesn't support landscape launcher view, you will have to be rooted or run an aftermarket launcher to have a popper view. Even with that solution, I am irritated since I dont like a launcher that auto rotates because they rotate at times I don't want them to. My old Galaxy nexus could be set to portrait mode only launcher and still switch to a landscape launcher in the desk top dock.
Pros:
holds the phone
Cons:
does not support a "dock mode" of any kind
over priced for what you get
is not as easy to dock as it should be
Seidio Surface Case with kick standhttp://www.seidioonline.com/htc-one-x-surface-metal-kickstand-case-black-p/csr3htnxlk-bk.htm
Finally a case that comes in white, to bad its the wrong shade. Besides that, this is a vary nice case. The easiest to put on and take off that I have ever used. Even though this is an over the edge case, it does not add as much bulk as I thought it would. The edges do come in contact with your fingers when you swipe close to the edges but it doesn't stop or push your finger off the screen. The gloss finish does feel slippery and doesn't give you a sense of good grip. Also, the kick stand works well but the phone "rocks" a little when using the kick stand. Like every other kick stand case I have used, the kick stand can not be used in the portrait position. I will say, that the two piece design holds together vary well when dropped!.
Pros:
easy to put on and take off
has a kick stand
comes in white!!
protects well against drops
Cons:
does not give you a sense of good grip
phone "rocks" when using kick stand
the white color option is not the same shade as the phone
HTC Hard Shell Kickstand Case for HTC One Xhttp://shop.htcpedia.com/htc-one-x-kickstand-case.html
The Best case for the One X hands down. This case adds the least amount of bulk out of any kick stand case I have tried. The bulk is even more minimized on the sides witch is a huge plus for the smaller handed users. The kick stand works vary well in land scape but not at all in the portrait position. It does however keep the phone slightly angled up when the kick stand is folded in and the phone is laying on its back. There is a little bit of fit issue in the corners, nothing you will see but you can apply pressure and feel that the case is not "tight" against the phone in all 4 corners. I just wish this case came in white. Not just because I have a white phone but also because the mat soft touch finish really shows the grease from your hands.
Note, if you want any front " protection from a case, this one is not for you as there is not "lip" on this case
Pros;
Adds vary little bulk
Kickstand is the nicest I have seen and works vary well
soft touch has a great feel
never gets in the way of your fingers when using the touch screen
Cons:
Kick stand does not work in portrait mode
Grease really shows
does not protect the front at all (by design)
Doesn't come in white!!
INCIPIO HTC ONE X (AT&T) FEATHER ULTRALIGHT HARD SHELL CASE http://www.incipio.com/HTC-One-X-ATandT-Cases/Incipio-HTC-One-X-ATandT-feather-Ultralight-Hard-Shell-Case.asp
This is a vary nice case, again this does not add any front face protection but it add's minimal bulk. It does add more bulk the the thin sides than the HTC case previously mentioned, its enough to notice. The thickness it adds to the back of the phone is just enough to keep the camera lens off of what ever surface you place the phone on. the fit is great with one exception. All four corners stick up above the rolled edge of the phone for some reason (help lock it on?) so it can be felt when in the hand but it is no where near the screen so you will not hit them when swiping and such. The case isn't a true mat finish in my opinion, it has some sheen. Despite that it is really grippe and maybe because of it, it doesn't collect finger print and hand oils like dark mat finish cases tend to do.
Pros:
Fit, the best of any case I have tried
soft touch feel is great on this case
not bulky
keeps the camera lens off of surfaces
Cons:
the corners rise above the rolled edge
the sides are thinker than they need to be, adding some in the hand wideness to the feel
Doesn't come in white
Doesn't protect the front of the phone at all (by design)
After all is said and done, the Ibolt car dock and the HTC kickstand case are my most used and favorite items that I have bought for the One X. I do however use Car home Ultra instead of the HTC car home or the google car home.
Thanks for doing this! Im looking for a new case and you really helped out.
Glad I could help. Witch one are you going with

PICS / Review: RingkeSLIM, amCase, Poetic Atmosphere

I own a few Nexus 4 phones and bought a few cases to try and cover the phone until the official LG bumper is in stock. I also have the Poetic bumper which I didn't have a chance to take pics of yet, so I may add it to the "review" in the future.
Here are the pictures along with some impressions of three of these budget cases...
First of all, for those who aren't aware, from left to right we have the following cases: Poetic Atmosphere ($10) , Ringke SLIM ($10), amCase Slimfit ($2-3!!). They are pictured in the same order in all of the following pics.
{

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
- I find the amCase logo to make the cover seem pretty class-less and unappealing
- The Poetic case has rubber feet (those gray lines in the corners) to prevent it from sliding too much when laying on a table, but I found them to be barely passable and the case itself is very slippery
Bit hard to see in this picture but...
- Ringke SLIM has a nice edge where the charger goes - looks like any charger will fit
- Poetic Atmosphere doesn't fit the older style micro-USB plugs, which have lots of plastic around the plug
- From this angle you can see that the Ringke has slightly more protection in the corners of the phone compared to amCase, however the Poetic gives the most protection
- Poetic didn't allow me to insert my headphones - the case blocks them
- Poetic had the best button feel because the buttons are built into the case. Some might claim it's easier to push in a pocket by accident, but I haven't had any issues with it
- Ringke's buttons although very well cut out are very close to the chamfered case and are a bit harder to press, however the case cutouts were perfect not just for the button but also for the speaker in the back - the tolerances are very tight, unlike the amCase which has 'oversized' holes everywhere
- It was easier to press the buttons on the amCase compared to the Ringke. Because there's a "hard" cutoff between the case and the phone, and because the openings are so large, it's easy to determine when your finger is in the correct position over the correct button
Final thoughts....
Ringke SLIM:
- Made the phone seem thinner, if that's possible - everyone I had asked thought so too
- Has somewhat "sharp" edges which didn't appeal to me at first, but after using the phone for a little while I realized this actually gave me a firm/secure grip on the phone
- Has an understated logo in the back which exudes a bit more luxury
- Least slippery plastic of the bunch, however nothing compares to the silicone/rubberized type stuff out on the market
- Excellent "grip" on the phone
- Has very thin plastic on the sides which also doesn't wrap around the screen, making it easier to get to the edge of the screen (i.e. to move icons between home screens, which requires touching the very edge of the screen)
- Corners are raised in case the phone falls on something flat it can't get scratched (in the real world, I find this almost gimmicky - The front of the phone basically has no protection
- Out of the three, this is my favorite by far
amCase Slimfit:
- Wraps slightly around the front of the screen which makes it a bit more noticeable
- Pretty slippery in the hand and since it has "rounded off" edges compared to the Ringke, I feel like I'm holding a wet bar of soap - always worried it may fall out of my hand
- Not as tight as the Ringke around the phone, making it easier to remove but doesn't seem so loose as though the phone would come out
- Thicker plastic, so it may potentially offer more protection, but less coverage in the corners is a little bummer
- Overall placement of all the cutouts is perfect
- As a temporary case, for $2 it's a steal
- Out of the three, this is my second favorite
Poetic Atmosphere:
- Offers the most protection by far - nothing but the front screen is exposed - though the rubber around the front of the screen would do more to protect it compared to the other two (I think)
- This same rubber trim around the front of the face makes it a bit harder to get to the VERY edge of the screen and much more noticeable on the thumb when using the phone
- Holds the phone securely, however is the most plasticky of the bunch - very slippery
- I was unable to use one of my USB cables to charge it, nor was I able to use my headphones with this protector on - the cutouts are far too small - and not thoughtful like the Ringke, which has smoothed out edges
- The feel of the buttons is amazing
- In addition to properly placed buttons, all the cutouts are in the correct location - and although some of the USB cables wont work with it and most headphones won't work with it, the placement of all cutouts is correct
- The "cloudy" look of the back isn't my taste - to be honest, it makes the phone look pretty ugly IMO
- This was my least favorite of the bunch however it offers the most protection
Hope this helps someone out there looking for a case. Although I like the Ringke SLIM the best, I feel like there must be better out there. My wife also prefers the Ringke since the sharper corners make it easy to hold onto the phone and somehow the phone actually feels less wide and easier to grip for both of us with this case.
Please let me know if you have any questions/comments and also if you've tried other cases that you can suggest?
I don't have the time for a full writeup right now, so this is a quick post to state that the amCase is garbage and should be the last on the list.
My wife fumbled her phone at night from about 2ft high and the case flew off upon impact. No damage to the phone.
Also, the Poetic bumper is really nice and I'll update the review with it later. I imagine it's not as great as OEM, but it's decent save for a few problems.

Spigen Ultra Fit vs Parfiti Air Shield - Text Review

I came up with the idea to review the two cases I recently ordered online, as they both looked like good options among the lighter slim cases. Not a lot of bulk at expense of less protection: that was the premise I had. With that in mind, I went through a couple of alternatives (didn't research much, though), with the two following alternatives emerging victorious: Parfiti's Air Shield for Galaxy S4 & Spigen Ultra Fit for Galaxy S4.
I know it isn't a fair fight, as I should have compared the Air Shield vs the Spigen Ultra Slim Transparency case, but I figure the Ultra Fit matte black cover is just the same in measures and thickness as the transparency case.
Parfiti - Air Shield
http://www.parfiti.com/air-shield-for-galaxy-s4
Pros:
- Ultra slim
- Transparent
- Virtually no bulk added
- Perfect fit for S4
- Minimally invasive branding
Cons:
- Cutouts for volume rocker and power button a bit small
- Transparent finish prone to visible scratching
- Not very sturdy build
- Little to none protection against drops
- Standard grip

Notice the logo in the lower right area of the bessel
Original packaging included a screen wipe and a screen protector
Let me develop about this a little furtherly. The case main pros are the ultra slim design, which fits the S4 perfectly. This means the case adds virtually no bulk. I can tell you there are times when I actually forgot I had the case on, specially due to the transparent finish. You can actually make it seem like there is no case on the phone... at all. The finish is a transparent glossy plastic with perfect transparency. There is no invasive branding apart from a small logo on the right side, corresponding to the faux-metal bessel of the device, which reads PARFITI in a slim streamlined font: pretty sleek.
As for the cons, I might start saying that the cutouts for the hardware buttons are a bit on the small side of the scale. Don't get me wrong, there is no hassle over pushing the buttons or using them. Not at all. I would have wished, though, that the cutouts were a bit larger, as I tend to press the buttons by sliding my finger from the top of the bessel and down. For those who oppose to transparent finish, it is prone to visible scratching. Though it has been more resilient than I would have expected, small marking have started to show after a few days of moderately careful use. I can only imagine it will show some more visible scratches as time goes by. Due to the fact that it is indeed ultra slim, it does not feel very sturdy when taking it off the phone, getting me to think sometimes that it is about to break. Again, it seems more resilient than what I though -specially for such a thin, thin piece of plastic- but minor (less than a milimeter) cracks have started to show on the corners of the case. These are minimal, almost invisible cracks that seem like a normal reaction from plastic under such stress and not likely to keep increasing or to break. Again, due to the fact that it is ultra slim and the plastic is rather thin, there is little the case can do against a 'decent' drop on solid ground. It is likely to crack -at best- at the first hard drop, giving you a one time only chance to drop it before it becomes unusable.
Conclusion: A very low profile case. Almost unpercievable unless enough effort is put into it. The ultra slim frame is virtually bulk free and allows one to show the true beauty of the phone (patterns, bessel, frame) and the slim measures of the S4. Not a lot of protection against drops, though, but the slim frame makes it totally worth it. You'll eventually forget you are indeed wearing a case on the phone.
Spigen - Ultra Fit for S4
http://www.ebay.com/itm/SPIGEN-SGP-...d=100033&prg=1011&rk=1&rkt=3&sd=181120209101&
Pros:
- Very slim
- Matte black finish
- Perfect fit for the S4
- Sturdy build
- Moderate-to-low drop protection
- Cutouts for buttons very open
- Texture adds some better grip
Cons:
- Non-transparent finish hides the device
- Non-transparent finish protection from sunlight may allow decolor the bessel on the exposed areas
- Adds noticeable bulk
- Somewhat invasive branding
- Straight bessel edges provide a weird grip experience
- Noticeable fingerprint build up
_____
WYSIWYG
Just because this case has some more pros doesn't make it the ultimate slim case for the S4. It is a good case that seems to provide more resistance to heavier drops, specially when compared to the PARFITI case. I firmly think it might resist quite a few drop without any noticeable injury. This might be due to a thicker plastic used in the case, which also adds to the sturdier build feel in the case. I've put it on and off many times and it never felt like it was going to break. I would not dare to do that in my PARFITI case, as I think it would break within the first 20 tries. As a downside of this, you definitely notice it's there, and the case keeps reminding you of it everytime you hold it.
However it is a perfect fit for the S4, with perfectly open cutouts for buttons, a more open top bessel area, as well as the bottom area; feels a lot freer on the top and bottom. The matte black finish adds to the elegance of the device, although it conceals the true natural beauty of it, it does give it a fresh face that keeps you thinking you've got a new phone. Luckily, the matte comes with a soft-touch finish on the case, which somewhat improves the already flimsy grip of the S4 (I feel the S4 prone to slipping away from my hand) and makes it a lot firmier to hold. Again, with respect to the grip experience, I will add that the bessel part of the case has a squared -not rounded, like the natural S4 frame- finish, which makes it kind of weird to hold, killing the good ergonomics of the device. Truth is I never got used to it, although I don't consider it a deal breaker. Again, for the matte finish, the amount of fingerprints that get on it is pretty high. Within the first few hours, some fingerprints started to build up on the back panel of the case. Though they can be cleaned, of course, it is indeed a downside in this respect. Another downside is the presence of branding and carvings on the back of the case. There is a pretty noticeable spigen logo on the lower right of the back side of the case, and a "13 mega" carving right under the camera area. For those that like that finishing touch, it might be a pro, for me it isn't. The case seems to be pretty resistant to scratches, though I can imagine that as soon as you get a big one, you'll pretty much stare at it everytime you raise the phone.
Conclusion: A very sturdy slim case, with a decent protection to moderate drops and scratches. The only downsides to this are the extra bulk (not much) it adds to the devices, and the weird grip experience due to the squared bessel edges. The grip does indeed feel much better as for the slip-or-not part of it, due to the soft-touch and matte black finish. This gives an interesting look to the device, making it feel like a different phone everytime, though it does this at the expense of some more bulk. Don't think you'll get past the case eventually: you'll always notice it.
----
To sum it up, both cases are pretty good alternatives. I myself can't make up my mind about which to use for a prolonged time and end up switching them every now and then. I should have compared the transparent versions of each brand, but this is all I've got.
Hope this is useful for you guys.

REVIEW: Poetic Affinity Series Clear Case

** Full disclosure: I was sent this case in exchange for a full and honest review. U2 once flew me out to Las Vegas to do a review and I absolutely destroyed them in print, so I think we can fairly safely say that a free phone case isn’t going sway me either way. **
I'm pretty sure I've never met anyone who's a massive fan of compromise. "You know what my favourite thing in the world is?" no one ever said. "Making necessary concessions to accommodate a variety of needs." But, as we all know, compromise is basically humanity's way of making the best job out of the pretty rotten set of circumstances known as ‘life’.
Phone cases are a compromise in and of themselves. Only nine-year-old girls actually CHOOSE to put a case on their phones. And those usually have sparkly bits and pictures of unicorns on them. And One Direction ringtones. The rest of us just grin and bear it, frowningly accepting the obvious fact that, no matter how pretty our new Nexus 6Ps are, they won't stay that way for long without a bit of a wrap-up.
Then comes the compromise bit: do you go for a thin shell case, which adds very little bulk (a good thing) but also very little drop protection (a bad thing). Or do you swaddle your phone in a whopping great chunk of thermoplastic polyurethane or, heaven forbid, one of those inadequacy-compensating macho armor jobs - all polygons and Bear Grylls autographs?
The answer is, probably, more compromise. Which this case, from Poetic, lets you do. It’s a best-of-both-worlds job: thin polycarbonate shell across the back to keep your 6P sleek and sexy, nobbly thicker plastic round the sides (for extra grip) and a network of rubbery TPU lines snaking around the edges and corners to add bump and drop protection - but only where really it’s needed. Which is all jolly sensible, and it earns the overall design a big gold star for cleverness.
Extra gold stars for nicely-sized, well cut-out ports around the headphone socket and USB-C port (forgive the 1970s double-entendre, but you shouldn’t have any trouble plugging in at either end), and for the power and volume button overlays which don’t get in the way of your clicking. Oh and, go on, have another star for protecting the rear glass visor without covering the laser focus or ambient microphone. Bravo.
Now for some quibbles. Poetic are terribly proud of themselves, so much so that they’ve felt the need to tag the back of this case in what amounts to a slew of plastic graffiti. You’ve got the brand name smudging up the bottom, the model name showing off along the side, and a great big letter ‘P’ covering up the Nexus logo in the middle. Considering that your phone cost about 50 times what this case did, you might find that a bit presumptuous - especially since you presumably opted for a clear case in order to show off your phone’s original design.
Speaking of which. Let’s consider that whole ‘clear’ thing in general. First, clear cases always look a bit cheap and toy-like; the sort of thing you’re more likely to find cover-mounted on a kids’ comic than displayed at a chic designer boutique. Also, because of those rubbery bits and thick, textured sides, this case is as much ‘curdled milk white’ as it is clear, and that’s definitely not such a good thing. But you know what? These are aesthetic tastes. I’m just not a fan of these colours, but I’m also not a fan of bacon and I know how popular that is. So, hey-ho, you pays your money...
Finally, those side-nobbles. Dropping phones sucks, so it’s good to get some grip. But these sides, combined with the hard lines networking around the back and corners, aren’t the most comfortable thing to hold. You’re less likely to drop it, sure, but you’re also less likely to have a happy hand. In fact, every second you hold your phone in this case, you’re going to be aware that you’re holding it, that it’s in a case, and that it’s not a altogether pleasant feeling.
But, hey, there has to be some compromise. If you’re looking for a case that’s hard to drop and, SHOULD you drop it, is quite likely to stop your phone from disintegrating - while still being relatively thin and generally not grotesque - this is a great choice. If you’re a little more crazy and cool and reckless like me, you might want to think: “to heck with it all! I’m going to risk life and limb and go for something a little more minimal.” Or, if you’re like my Gallic friend Marcel who’s so crazy and cool and reckless he’s the modern incarnation of James Dean, you might just go naked and let your phone feel the breeze like nature intended.
Either way, it’s a ten-buck case. So… you know, no biggie.

Review
XDA is getting flooded with these reviews, so I decided to piggyback off of yours.
I too received one of these cases (clear) for free in exchange for a review.
Build: The build quality on this case seems well above average for a clear plastic case. I have had others and definitely feel this one surpasses the others in terms of quality feel. I appreciate the ridges along the side which adds extra grip to help prevent dropping the phone. All of the cut-outs are precise and spot on. The power and volume buttons are perfectly responsive, and other than occasionally pressing the wrong button, work the same as if there were no case on the phone. Al of the ports are perfectly cut. I had no problem using the USB-C or headphone jack ports. The case is very light. It adds almost no bulk to the phone, although I would be as comfortable as is possible if I dropped my phone from a small distance with this case on it.
Design: I have to first say I am not a fan of clear plastic cases, so my review will be somewhat slanted because of this. This is my personal preference; we know how preferences go. Other than that, I do not like how the case covers the black camera/antenna portion of the phone. I like clean lines. Between the case being clear and having some of the anti-scratch raised lines running through the black area, it just doesn't look good.. to me. Like others, I also dislike having Poetic's "p" in the middle of the back, covering the "S" in the Nexus on the back of the phone. Also, I think the clear case would look better on something other than a silver phone, which I have.
Conclusion: If you are a fan of clear plastic cases, which are slim and do not add much bulk (at the sacrifice of a little extra protection), this case would be more than adequate for your wants and needs. The manufacturer gets an A+ on the precision of all of the cutouts and the feel of the case on the 6P as well. It's less than $10, so if the above fits your description of an ideal case, Amazon has one waiting for you.
gonna piggyback as well.. seems like Poetic is on a cred build exercise... so here it is.. short and simple:-
So to be clear I was sent this case by the good guys at Poetic for my honest review..... Gonna be honest not a professional reviewer but let's start....
Have been using this clear case one for past days as my DD instead of my Spigen one.... The cover feels exceptionally good in the hands though it makes the phone a bit more bulky than the spigen one.... Have had a small drop test as well at night from my bed.... Saw in the morning that the phone landed on its face but nothing happened.... So happy for that and the protection seems good....
I would say go for the black variant the transparent one doesn't look that good .... Personally??
Now the cons.... The case has made me feel how you guys feel for Verizon.... The branding is too much.... If they could just remove the "P" from the center of the case as that blocks my Nexus branding on the phone.... and also if the fingerprint reader cutout could be a bit smaller... it's too big for my liking.... 2nd also .. the plastic near the usb-port is flimsy.....
overall... I would suggest this case without any issues.. the protection is good and that's what matter to me...
Till next time
Rohit
