For now the only way we can is to wait for them to release the update, which judging by how long Motorola is taking, will take like 10 years :/
You think hard resetting the phone, wiping the cached data, and updating the Motorola update service from Google play will do the trick for our variants. I know one guy who did it on G+ but his is an unlocked variant that he bought from Motorola and he has at&t

Could be photoshop job I suppose, but would be a weird thing to troll such a small group of people?

Wondering if someone in Middle East countries has got the 4.4.4 OTA since till now I have got nothing on my Moto G
EDIT: My bad mods. I'm used to posting in Generals
i have Moto G GPE and receive 4.4.4 update
GPE version always get faster than Stock, because Motorola Team works on some extra few improvements.
I am in Austria, and i haven't received any update yet, so just be patient
It shouldn't take long.

4.4.3 came to the US variant well before the Moto G GPE got an update so it is not always the case.

Clearly that GPE doesn't always get it first. GPE didn't get 4.4.3 before the regular US Moto G did.

If you look at the software update news page of Motorola, and scroll down to where you purchased the device, the dual-sim Indian version of Moto G isn't listed.
We're probably not going to get an early update for our XT1033 devices.

don't worry. when you have a look at the other providers like t-mobile or verizon etc, the xt1032 (single sim) doesn't appear either. it is probably the case, that motorola just haven't added the devices in the provider list, but i am sure that everybody can still enjoy android lollipop when it gets released
its confirmed already dude you must go to country option in site and select india you can find the info . check out this link https://motorola-mobility-en-in.custhelp.com/app/software-upgrade-news/g_id/2014#gs=eyJndWlkZUlEIjoyMDE0LCJxdWVzdGlvbklEIjoxLCJyZXNwb25zZUlEIjoxOSwiZ3VpZGVTZXNzaW9uIjoiSHprV3R0NW0iLCJzZXNzaW9uSUQiOiJIemtXdHQ1bSJ9

Soak tests for xt1033 have already started and we will get the update by the end of november or December first week.
sorry if this is a stupid question, but if i've already unlocked the bootloader, and installed root and recovery but i didnt change/modify the original ROM 4.4.4 from my moto G, to get the lolipop update, i just need to install the original "stock" recovery or i will need to flash everything (firmware/radio/originalrom, etc) again? thanks

You can't down grade moto devices, I don't understand what you meant by alternatives, you can't do it via fast boot that I know of yet

I took it to mean that he, like many others who received 4.4.4 ( myself included) on their Maxx when it was shipped to them, would like to be able to root the device. I think he wants to downgrade back to 4.4 to do this. By alternative, he meant if it wasn't possible was there another way to get root. Of course the answer there is no.
Hey guys, do you know anything about the marshmallow update for Virgin mobile Moto G's?
(xt1548)
Nothing so far for me yet, wearing out the system update button
Me too?
Apparently, the Virgin Mobile Varient of the Moto G 2015 ota is now being rolled out in Canada. This means soon for us US peeps! Source: http://mobilesyrup.com/2016/01/16/moto-g-3rd-gen-update-to-marshmallow-now-available-in-canada/

Unfortunately, no it doesn't. Virgin Canada is not associated with Virgin Mobile USA in any way. Virgin Canada is a completely different company and actually uses gsm phones, not the cdma phones used on VM USA. For what it's worth, VM USA is not known for rolling out updates, timely or otherwise.
It seems the only way to update the software to Marshmallow is to buy an unlocked version of the device (as I have seen 6.0 on the unlocked device at a Best Buy demo) , or unlock the Virgin Mobile one you already have. Otherwise, I think Virgin is never going to release an OTA for the update.

I thought the Virgin Mobile version was not eligible for bootloader unlocking on Moto's site? There is no other known way to bootloader unlock the device. And an unlocked version (ie. full retail version) would not be CDMA since Moto did not sell those directly or through a 3rd party like Amazon, only carriers, so it wouldn't work on VM anyway. Not to call you a liar but I don't think you were looking at a Virgin Mobile device...

No you're right - What I meant to say is that the version of the phone I saw with 6.0 was an unlocked one - not one from VM. I do not think (as hopeful as I am, still) that VM is ever going to release an update to 6.0 - They usually just release phones with the OS it comes with and that's all you get.
So is there anyway to get Marshmallow or not?9
Soak test underway begun end of April so hopefully in next few weeks
Source?
I'm on virgin mobile, with my moto g3.
I got my boot loader unlocked and TWRP along with xposed. All that works great. But everytime I go and try a custom rom I have to revert to the TWRP backup. And that works fantastic. Just takes it time.
I'd really like a mm rom for this guy. This stock rom sucks the big one.

I have the CM13 nightly flashed to mine. What do you mean you have to revert to the TWRP back up? What isn't working? The only major issue I had was the APN settings which is easily fixed.
Wipe
Flash ROM
Flash Gapps
Reboot
Flash LTE fix.

I have a TWRP backup should I make a nandorid? And I'm using the virgin mobile 5.1.1 xt1548 Motorola Moto G 3rd generation. Stock rom custom kernel.
It is here and it is NOT working for me. After re-flashing original recovery and riding of TWRP it loads maybe 15% and hits me with an error. No error code just the animation for a split second and it reboots.
I'm not sure if anyone has any info. The virgin mobile moto g was just it's updated to marshmallow. I'm
wondering if there's any root yet?

Standard systemless root with current SuperSU works fine, just like it does with all stock Moto Marshmallow devices.

Hey, I am aware that the Moto G3 is not getting the Android N update. However, my phone is unlocked and is the XT1540 1GB variant, and I still haven't received Android 6.0.1. I'm on the WIND network, if anyone knows anything, please let me know. Thanks .
You could always download the factory marshmallow images and flash them using fastboot.
