It doesn't work that way. Stock recovery looks for a zip signed with a private key, manufacturers don't give those out.
You have to install a custom recovery, which you'll generally need root to do.

If your on gingerbread super one click should work. You may have to try it a few times before it goes. At least I always had to

Have you think about using a USB Jig to force download mode??

Bought it from a friend.... ya I tried my USB jig on it just to see if it would do something and no luck with it... but I'm on phone now just no USB... might be firmware issue

My friend was flashing his phone and flashed an image for the wrong model.
Does anyone know if the boot loader can be flashed via an SD Card on a verizon phone such as mentioned in the documentation floating around for the I9300?

It doesn't do anything just sits there with a solid red led when I connect the charger. No display or response to button combinations. So it's bricked as hard as can be lol
Not sure of the rom off hand.

Yup. You need a jtag service. They usually run 50 to 60 bucks. That's pretty much your only option.

Hey guys , I've followed this guide to the ink, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1809314 ...for some reason the phone only finds wind and Rogers Signal. I have that APN in and networks set in Global and or GSM only, it still won't work. Any ideas ??? I need some help here , it is rooted, I just can't seem to get it to find the right signal ....

That's the guide I would've linked you to, have you tried using both methods? I've never had to do it, so maybe posting this question in that thread might get you some good responses instead of screenshot advice.

Is there a benefit to having one on 4.2.2? Is it just for the ability to have root? Been away from the dev scene lately so wasn't sure what the benefit of getting one with 4.2.2 on it.
Yes that's basically it, once your on 4.4 there's no way to root or downgrade if your not already rooted. So no wifi tether/hotspot, almost everything else there's an app for.

This bug is killing me! If you use chainfires USB host app you can see everything checks out fine it just refuses to actually show there's a connection between the phone and device (no USB connected notification) Apparently it's fixed in 4.4.2 whenever we see that update (Moto G had the same problem) exchange is messed up in 4.4 as well

I just check it an downloaded its the apk I posted. R you clicking on the rt download on dev-host. Here is a screenshot of my screen after I click download? You r not getting this? Try to use chrome an go to dev-host that's what I use an have no issue.
