Does anyone have any feedback? Usually we get 2000+ downloads per release of zombi. Tough crowd. :cyclops:

You'll never see 2000+ downloads for the shield tablet. I was expecting to see more dev traffic over here considering the quality, open source, and unlocked bootloader availability, but nope. Maybe once we get the nvidia apps working on non stock ROMs, more people will start flashing custom ROMs. I'm pretty sure Aaron is close to cracking that nut though.

Wow. You are probably the most privileged SOB I've seen on xda before. Without @lj50036 and the countless hours he spent on a device he doesn't own, this would never be a possibility. This is a development thread. Not a service that we provide to you. If you can't spend 2 minutes to read the thread and learn how to give proper feedback and help out, then go buy an iPad and get out of here. We don't need cheeky ****s like you and neither does the xda community.

because insulting the single user who has actually stepped up and reported an issue is definitely the best way to gain more users, amirite guys? /s
and what exactly has he done wrong? he has given very simple and clear instructions on how to reproduce the issue, and given that he's back on stock, how exactly is he supposed to provide logs? not to mention that in this specific case logs are 100% unnecessary, playing videos is a basic feature that people expect to work, no need to blame the user for your lack of testing
oh, and what exactly is he supposed to read? the OP says absolutely nothing about reporting bugs/issues

There was nothing clear about his instructions to reproduce the issue. Just saying something like "doesn't work" is not a clear instruction. Also we don't care about collecting users. That is not the point and spirit of xda. It's about making devices better. I don't take too kindly to people insulting @lj50036 and he was one of them acting like he was above everything. There are different ways of playing videos in a browser so it's not that easy to reproduce this issue that you claim was never tested. Plus we release the rom because we only have one shield and it is impossible to test every single last thing.
By the way logs are always 100% necessary even for basic things not working. It helps us to pinpoint the issue in much less time.
@sbdags perhaps your second or third post needs to teach ppl how to take logs like the rest of the threads Mmmmmm? My apologies as I thought they were there already.

Click on the thanks button to their posts!
Dao Thanh Duy ( @daothanhduy1996 ), first and foremost for his contributions to the NILTMT kernel, providing his device and kernel source trees and for having done such a good job that I had almost no problems compiling cm-11.0 with them. His help has also been essential to figuring out issues on IRC. This ROM would not have been possible without him
The Cyanogenmod team and everyone who has contributed to the project. I merely ported their ROM, they receive all your thanks.
Brian ( @sunsurfer42 ) for this extremely generous donation of TWO dev phones in addition to 2 extra batteries. He even refused when I offered to pay for shipping. This ROM would not be available to you guys without him.
Rick ( @GFX.myst. ) for providing the awesome graphics for our team and this thread! He even made us a new CM11 Unofficial logo
David LaMontagne ( @DJLamontagneIII ) for his awesome kernel source
@JustArchi for his optimizations and his Linaro repositories which were used in the making of this ROM
@Beastmode for the source code he left with us. At one point he was the only active developer for this phone. I still miss seeing his contributions (Proton Kernel anyone?)
@bhundven , @jeffsf , @m4xm4n , @AntonX , and @RaverX3X for all the time and effort they put into this phone. We're still using their source code to this day
Features:
Missing non-essential apps such as wallpapers to free up space in the /system partition
Android KitKat 4.4.4 built from source with the latest updates
Compiled with Linaro 4.7 using -O2 optimizations on both the THUMB and ARM targets. This means that most of the ROM, not just the kernel, receive these optimizations
Debloated, removed a bunch of wallpapers, the NFC, Torch and Video Editor apps
Issues:
All of the Aries bugs still plaguing this phone, including:
Charging animation broken
No smooth HD video recording
TV out not tested
Won't make your phone have a quad core processor
If you're still on Gingerbread or older, follow lumin's guide here. You need CWM 5 with the blue text:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21953878&postcount=2
Once you have blue CWM5, just flash the ROM. It will automatically continue flashing using TWRP once your phone restarts. After the flash is done the phone will continue to boot into CM11, no need for a 2nd flash.
If you're already on any ROM newer than ICS, just follow the instructions below.
Download the ROM and optionally gapps and put them on your SD Card
Make a backup of your current ROM and apps using both Titanium backup and with TWRP/CWM.
Do a factory reset (full wipes for safety)
Flash the ROM and gapps
Wait another 5 minutes after you see your phone boot fully. This will let all the dust settle.
If you are upgrading from an older build of this ROM, you can probably get away with dirty flashing (not doing a factory reset between flashes) but if you run into any issues, do a full phone wipe (wipe system, data and cache) then flash the new version of the ROM.
Team Acid strives to remain compliant to the GPL. We provide the full sources to our ROMs here:
https://github.com/teamacid/
To build CM11 follow the official Cyanogenmod guide for the vibrantmtd here:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Build_for_vibrantmtd
MAKE SURE YOU REPLACE vibrantmtd FOR galaxys4gmtd WHEN FOLLOWING THE STEPS FOR THE GUIDE
You will also need the local manifests which you can find here:
https://github.com/teamacid/teamacid.github.com/tree/master/manifests/sgh-t959v/CM11-TWRP
To learn how to use a local manifest, check Cyanogenmod's guide here:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Doc:_Using_manifests#The_local_manifest
If you need help building this ROM please reply on this thread here.
There is no separate Q&A thread. You can ask your questions by replying in this thread.
This includes any questions or bug reports you may have.

Guys & gals, just keep in mind that even though FB said to keep questions and issues here, we want to keep this thread clean for development purposes. If you come across problems/issues, please remember to list all steps you made to when problem/issue occurred. Logcats are greatly appreciated. They help with the fixing process. Also, if you have questions, please read the thread before asking. Someone may have already asked the question and it may have been answered as well.

EDIT: Worked like a charm. Thanks FB.
All works perfect for me so far. I was running Beanstalk and that thread got shut down by the mods so I am glad you are developing for the S 4G. I still use this phone for my gym mp3 player (Wolfson DAC!!!)/wifi device/backup phone. It's nice to see old devices to get some love.

What is the button press sequence to get a screen capture (screenshot) on this ROM? TIA
---------- Post added at 10:03 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:55 AM ----------
One minor bug to report: When I went into "Settings" then "Display & Lights" then "Advanced Settings" I received a blank screen for a few sec then "Unfortunately, Advanced Settings has stopped." Had to force close "Settings" after that.
For the screen capture go to Settings>Buttons>Power Menu
Thank you for great ROM :good::good:
Yea, this ROM is bada**. It has brought new life to a worn down tired old phone. By far the best ROM that has ever been made for our little SGS4G. Mine had become stagnant as an every day daily, but now with this new life injected into it, I'm going to just keep rolling with it till it actually dies. Thanks Team Acid!!!!

2 things, are you on the latest 0623 version? (I had issues with previous versions) Also, did you flash the new version 5 Play Services? I found that it is a battery killer. I flashed the updated services and then downgraded back to 4.4, and have insane battery life. Not sure what it up with services, but the new version just drains terribly.
If all else fails, do a factory wipe and reflash both the ROM and Gapps and see if it fixes it. Take a look at your Battery Profile and see what is using your juice. (Also install Greenify if you have not already)

This is an enhanced version of the 81c developer preview that google released.
It has currently been ported for Mako and Deb and improved for Hammerhead and Flo
It offers a permissive selinux policy, aosp merged in and rock solid stabilty along with drastic improvements in speed and smoothness.
It offers updated proprietary files, updated google apps, fonts, res files and animations from the newer sdks.

Big thanks to @defconoi , @zyr3x , @percy_g2 , @ben1066 [MENTION=1050103] for improving and originally helping with the old lpv79 port to Mako.
Right now I rebased the entire project to clean it out and smooth it out
Huge thanks to @ramjet73 @bitstra @manueltts @skiman10 @psycho693 @jayfallen for helping me get it over to the other devices I don't have and testing everything I threw at them and the huge brainstorming and trying things I couldn't. It would have not been possible without these guys so please thank them

Warning. This has heavy ramdisk mods that are essential for it to work. You can flash current up to date "kit Kat kernels or L updaters only" but not full boot.imgs as this will break the ROM. If you do happen to flash a a boot.img, you can pull it out if the rom and fastboot flash boot boot.img
Hammerhead can only use L preview Kernels.
Remember, this is a port of a developer preview, there is already bugs in the official version from google and without the L code, we can not fix google's bugs. There are fixes to known problems in N7 2013 and N5 forums so if you do find them, please provide them with the bug

tracked down some missing permissions
did some other work but can't remember
B7.0.1
Flo & Deb
removed some excess apps that were replaced and I missed in b7
B7
updated fonts, res files, animations from the latest sdk
updater-script wipes cache files
updated some more google apps.
now using smart-art

B6
6 finishes up the rebasing work from 5 (5.9 was just a stepping stone and getting it out to other devices so we could work out all the kinks)
(Mako only info)
The rebasing work meant a lot of clean up and trying to get it as efficient as possible so from 5 to 6 is a big step and will be quite noticeable
(mako, flo, deb)
updated egl drivers are from qcom developer are in here which are newer then the preview ones
(Hammerhead )
Proper working sound now
(All)
Built in Busybox should be working. I tested the functions and seemed good to me.
Got rid of all the looping code and debugging code to speed everything up.
Updated the preview proprietary binaries to the latest version (some can't go all the way up and are stuck on a previous set or even original preview versions)
(Hammerhead has the latest preview egl drivers)
Built in google apps have been updated.
Introduction of slim builds for those on a bandwidth budget.
Can't think of what else.
Most kinks have all been worked out

Trust this L-AOSP port - it's FAST - STABLE - PERMISSIVE - INGENIOUS !
I'm using this ROM (beside the tests) as my flo's daily driver since the first test versions - and had the look over the complete EVOLUTION of that thingy...:good:
Hope, Google Authorities will have a look to @sykopompos threads for L-port - HIRE @sykopompos - It would be the best decision in your career, for sure!

Fully permissive, rooted, uses koush's superuser but SuperSU 2.02 can be used.
Does not come with busybox yet

Sent from Nexus 7.2 Flo using Tapatalk.
As for the difference. Updated binaries, completely aosp based current ramdisk with the L specific stuff added in. Completely rooted and working. Fully permissive sepolicy so some apps that were being blocked before actually go through also without selinux blocking everything, speed is increased. New SDK fonts (I gotta add the animations and colors in (mako users said they were snappier))
Current up to date aosp hal files
And, as you might have noticed the official L preview is a fair bit choppier than kk or any earlier releases. This aims to get back smoothness. Hammerhead L preview is MUCH faster, idk if due to hardware but this bridges the gap
Btw hi

Tiny is looking through it and he is saying that the aosp source is enough off from cm but I'm looking through and the entire ROM is caf.
I'm syncing caf right now to tale a look through it to see if we can work it back to basically hammerhead. It is essentially the same hardware so with slight modification to it, it should work
Thanks for putting this together. Coming from stock, had too many FC on ASUS Keyboard to even get past language selection at first, but power off/wait/retry worked fine as said in first post.

Let me know how it runs.
Runs ok (installs as secondary multirom). Didn't test it with many apps but seems prety decent.
(For the moment lacks stoping wake up display on plug charger).
Runs smooth and stable, but is based on CyanogenMod not on AOSP!
contrary to what is stated in OP.

Well, the kernel info says CyanogenMod.
I tried to install a third party kernel and again I have to use the cm version, i. e. Franco Kernel. Otherwise I get a bootloop.
Ok, CAF it is and not CM, but when choosing a different kernel, it is irritating.

Well yes the device repo and kernel are from CM. I might move away from them because I love Franco kernel too.
There is a Sabermod version in 'Android Development' which supports CAF/CM.
Updated to Beta 3
Updated to beta 3. Added navigation bar customization and dimension settings, added new clear all recents positions and button, converted the Downloads app to a fully functional file manager, added little things like speed under the downloads in notification drawer and much more. Fixed battery styles in statusbar and lockscreen. Fixed many more bugs that were introduced by us and Google in AOSP. Fixed amplifier making buzzing noise after call ends. Updated apps such as music player, camera, gallery and calendar! Many more changes are included, see full changelog on our community page on G+.
New screenshots from Lollipop added to the third post.

Ok I will try again tomorrow. Thanks for the help!
Fixed it! Latest adb needed to be started as root! My bad!
Another question though...
I saw at Nexus 4 forums that next XenonHD is going to be non-CAF but AOSP based. The same stand for Nexus 7 also?
I would love that because all kernels here are still AOSP based and CM kernel never worked really well for me.
Cheers and thanks for your work!
@iceandfire
I am on beta 3 right now using stock kernel. I habebto say that inam impressed with the early rom. It is a very clean and very featureful for a LP ROM! Thanks for the hard work that has been put into this!

Ok I am going to make it Abundantly Clear. So there is ZERO I mean ZERO CONFUSION.
What this is NOT -
This is not a Weekly. This is not Stable. If you are looking for either, you are in the wrong thread.
This is Not a Daily Driver. If you are looking for one, go to SlimKat Thread.
This is not Fully Functional Picture Perfect Rom. You do not get to Complain and call names on the thread if you expected anything else.
This Build does have bugs. Those that are known to me are listed Bellow.
What this is -
This is an Early Alpha Build. To those who don't know, that's prior Stage of a Beta or Weekly Build.
Its a Preview of things to come. If you notice, my list of Features is lacking quiet a few of Slim Features.
Yes there are bugs. The ones I do know are
Root does not Stick. See Notes Bellow.
Stock Camera clicks but does not take pictures. When you switch to Video Mode, you'd get error "Unable to Connect to Camera". Afterwards you have to reboot to clear.
Some of the 3rd Party Camera Apps work. For Ex. Open Camera, VivaVideo
APN Menu does not show any of the APNs for at least Sprint Variant.
When connected to WiFi, MMS are delayed. Only seems to affect D2VZW.
NOTES -
This is a D2GSM Build. So it is equally applicable to D2ATT as well as D2TMO. So use D2ATT Build unless I specified Otherwise.
You must Flash SuperSU [STABLE][2015.01.20] SuperSU v2.4.5 as a Zip file along after flashing Rom.
If you posted a bug/issue not listed above, without a Logcat, I will ignore it.
Unless specified otherwise, do not dirty flash on top of SlimKat or Other Roms. If you did and then complained even with Logcat, I will ignore.
Reserved.
Just in Case.

You need to be Applauded. For once, I have an answer!
To answer your question, I posted but took down that build. Yes there will be a build. I just didn't make latest one as there were very few KK4.4 taker for the rom in USC Category. I will have one up in the same place for you.

Thank you, can't wait to try it out. Has anyone posted any feedback on it yet?

You have a Build Up. Check the link for the Unofficial Builds in OP. For reviews, look under my ATT and VZW threads.
Gave it a flash. The boot splash was scrambled but the animation started and it booted up after a few minutes. It felt smooth but the home button and the capacitive touch buttons did not work. Had to enable Nav bar to get around. Signal and data were good and everything else I tried worked fine so far. Thanks again for putting the USC build up.

Yes, both the scrambled image and Button not working was reported. Fix underway. Fixed in the New build.
I'm very grateful that this has been ported to our device (I've ran SlimKat for ages and love it), but I'm totally unable to edit the APN settings. I use a T-Mobile SIM in my device, and while SlimKat will allow me to change the APN data, the APN settings area in this ROM simply says "access point name settings are not available for this user," and I'm unable to save new APN entries after I've created them.
I've followed steps outlined here, but they haven't helped the issue.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

My understanding is you can't use a tmo sim on us cellular phones. Might want to look here for more info.

I'm using the T-Mobile SIM right now on SlimKat 4.4 actually. I can only get data and texts (no voice), but it's working quite well. I've also never spoken to USC about unlocking the device.

Support:
We spend an astonishing amount of time developing this software. We can't spend much time on XDA as a result, so if you need support, please try the following:
1) Search. Search, search, search. Yes, you. I don't care how unique or important your question is, it's very likely someone has adressed it already. Especially if you're even close to new at this.
2) Read our FAQ, which can be found on our website. Carbon FAQ
3) Ask a question in your device forum. Someone will no doubt try to help you. Warning: this help may come in the form of telling you it's a dumb question that has been asked before. See step 1 - such are the perils of asking questions when you haven't done the research yourself. Android is about helping yourself.
4) Join our Discord server! There, you can connect with other Carbon users and our developers, and you can get quicker responses to your bug reports. The invite link is right below.
We recommend MindTheGApps. OpenGApps should work, but please make sure you clearly mention the gapps you're using when reporting bugs.

BUGS:
I've been using Carbon Oreo for months now, and I've faced no issues. If you face any issues, please report them in as much detail as possible, preferably with a logcat and/or instructions to reproduce it.
CHANGELOGS:
You can visit https://blog.carbonrom.org/changelog to view the changelog.
FAQs (Please read before posting questions):
Q: What firmware do I need to be on?
A: Oxygen OS Open Beta 35 (OnePlus 3) / Open Beta 26 (OnePlus 3T). This answer will be updated as and when needed. Links can be found by simply googling for them.
Q: Does the ROM support OMS and theming with Substratum?
A: Yes it does! Simply enable "Allow untrusted overlays" from Settings -> CarbonFibers -> Privacy and Security and follow the instructions that follow.
Q: Does the ROM work on both the OP3 and OP3T?
A: Since the thread is in the unified development subforum, yes it does.
Q: Is the ROM rooted by default?
A: No, please flash your favorite root solution after installing the ROM.
Q: Is the camera good?
A: The ROM uses the device tree from Lineage OS. Expect similar quality. Feel free to install the Google Camera port for the best pictures from your camera. You do not have to install the front cam HDR fix Magisk module with Carbon.
Q: Do I need to make a factory reset before installing this ROM?
A: If you're moving from cr-5.1 official builds to cr-6.1 builds, then a factory reset is recommended. Some have been able to dirty flash their way from cr-5.1 to cr-6.1, but before trying that, make sure you have a backup, in case you're caught in a bootloop. Clean install is ALWAYS recommended. If you face any issues after dirty flashing, clean flash first and see if it's persistent and only then report the bug.
Q: VOLTE?
A: Untested, but should work.
Q: SafetyNet?
A: Sure, if you use Magisk and enable Magisk hide.

Booted up the rom and everything works flawlessly! Great work!
Wondering is the multitouch issue on Oreo 8.1 fixed ?
I try it, thx!
@drakonizer Flashed the rom, everything is perfect. Just few things i would like to point out:
1. Settings -> Network & Internet -> Mobile Network -> getting com.android.phone has stopped when clicked on Advanced
2. Alert Slider has very limited options, missing options like ring, vibrate etc.
3. Camera over exposes pics
Awesome! Been eagerly awaiting this for some time! Downloading now and will report back with status. ?
one bug if going in mobile network settings and advance it gives fc and would be great if you add color engine thing like other roms rest is amazing

1. Thanks for the report. I'll take a look
2. I am aware of this limitation...it will be fixed in an upcoming update.
3. This is a bug only with the stock camera app. For now you can use another app like the Google Camera port to fix this. It will be fixed in a future update.

Native support for dark themes is a planned feature and will be implemented in a future update.

Just tried it, and didn't notice any abnormal behavior. Go ahead and test the ROM and get back to me if you notice anything in particular and I'll add it to the list of known bugs.
Works really great!! Big THX

Hi thanks, I have some videos to explain the bug :
https://youtu.be/wgYN5GwIgIc
https://youtu.be/4dnIk_5qdK8
It's very annoying for peoples playing games etc...
For me this bug is present in ALL 8.1 ROMs in F2FS or EXT4.

Thanks for the video, I could successfully reproduce the bug. Unfortunately this seems like an AOSP issue, considering even the Pixel 2 is affected. I'm afraid we're gonna have to wait for Google on this one.

I think THIS is the commit which fixes multitouch bug. Thanks for bringing up Carbon ROM.
My English is very bad, sorry, the multi-touch problem on Android8.1 has been a long time, you can look at the following submission, which will facilitate your development, thank you

Again, nos has fixed this issue
Great to be back on Carbon. One of the first ones I tried way back on KK on my S3. Everything is running smoothly. Just wondering if there's plans to add the Oneplus off screen gestures (for camera, flashlight, music controls).
