MMS Not working - CM12.1 - ONE Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys! I'm my One on Cricket has been having some issues for quite a while now. About 1 month ago, all MMS communications stopped working, group messaging, and picture sending both don't work at all. So I went to the store, he said to wipe my phone and re-flash my ROM. After that, it worked for about a week until just yesterday when I got a ton of messages from my friends saying "Touch to download". I made sure my APN's were 100% correct and yes they are please don't say anything about that because I know its now aiowireless.net instead of CricketWireless.com. I downloaded "Go SMS Pro" and it said internal issue error 500. I'm stuck and have no idea what to do now and I would prefer to use Cyanogen (OS or mod).
Thanks in advance, Leo

Problem not with oneplus its cricket crappy APN. I had this problem on another phone when I was with cricket. Switched APN everything work for a day then just stop working. Switched to straight talk and never had a problem since. And I have flashed many many roms on previous phone and one plus one and no problems

[Q] Newts One XXX ROM - Messages

Hey guys,
New to the forum and to Android.
I've been an iOS guy for the last five years and I switched over to Android because AT&T in my area is awful so I went to Verizon. However, the current iPhone doesn't support the 4G/LTE so I got a Rezound for the time being. I love this phone. Absolutely awesome.
Ok so I flashed Newts One XXX Rom and did the patches and what not. Noticed that everytime I received an MMS my data would cut off. Found a patch to fix that however I noticed that I no longer get a badge notification on the Messages app on the dock. I get them for Mail/phone but not messages.
Could the patch to fix the MMS/data loss have something to do with it?
Also, I cannot seem to find my Voicemail on the app.
Please help.

[Q] Really weird problem with my Nexus S

I have a Nexus S i9023. I was trying different ROMs and everything was working fine untill I installed MIUI. What it actually did, it listed my ph twice on play store and after that my ph stopped incoming/outgoing calls and sms but 3G kept working. At that time I didn't know what is the real problem so I tried changing ROM, radios, kernel even going back to stock ROM. Later I realized that sometimes its working sometimes but when I try to install something from my computer it say its installed but it doesn't appear on my mobile it also blocks calls and sms again. But when I put another sim card then it all works fine. I dont know how to resolve this. I tried to search how to delete devices on play store but found nothing.
Any help would be highly appreciated...

MMS problems on Verizon 4.1.1

Verizon Galaxy Nexus
I recently rooted my phone and installed the AOSP rom (from this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1763823) I can't comment there b/c I'm a "n00b". Anyway, I been having issues sending MMS through the stock app. They just won't send (It says Sending, and stays like that for hours, I've rebooted, stop the app, clear cache, etc). I had luck, while connected on WiFi I was able to send one, I quickly disconnected and went on 4G to try sending another one, and again, no luck, then immediately went back to WiFi and didn't have any luck.
(I don't think WiFi really matters since you can send MMS w/out a data plan).
A couple users in that forum where saying they were also having problems with MMS, but there's no way for me to interact there. I'm hoping someone is familiar with the issue and can help.
Thanks,

Phone stopped receiving MMS

Hey guys,
Here's the story. I'm on AT&t. Got my Nexus 5 last week, put my sim card from my LGOG into it. Everything worked beautifully (including MMS) and I was crying tears of joy.
Root it. Installed gravity box, noticed I had ten million quick settings tiles. Become giddy and click happy. Clicked one that toggled data type (LTE/2G/3G). MMS broke. Can't figure it out. Stopped clicking things. Uninstalled gravity box.
Change every APN setting after reading countless forums. Does absolutely nothing. Decide to wipe and install Cyanogen 11. Upon reboot after fresh install, 1 pending picture message got sent. Couldn't send anymore even after rebooting again.
Messed with all the apn's I saw fit, still nothing. Go to AT&T, completely useless but added my IMEI to the account. Got 1 picture to send upon rebooting again, then all the others failed just like before. Not sure what to do, occasionally crying tears of not joy.
Any ideas where to start to diagnose this?
I wouldn't know, this problem just sounds weird. But assuming the problem isn't network based and is on your side, I'd try flashing the latest factory image using fastboot.

Pretty late update, but flashing the stock fixed it so I had been running that for awhile. Slowly started adding root apps back here and there (i was convinced it had something to do with Xposed) but noticed once I installed Adblock I could no longer recieve any messages. Started digging around the internet and found this thread on their forums: https://adblockplus.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=11755&start=15
It states for AT&T users to set the MMS port to 8080 and it worked! Weird that I hadn't run into this before on any other phones as I've been using adblock forever. I had to do it in the Mobile Network APN settings and Hangouts.

Texts/3rd party SMS apps not working

Last few weeks, textra has stopped receiving MMS along with any other 3rd party SMS apps. I have everything up to date with no mods or romsom the phone. I use get MMS just fine by activating a new SIM on a vzw phone. I tried this method again to no avail. Any help. And yes I did search the forums and google. Is this an isolated incident? Thanks in advance

Curious if anyone has found a fix.
I had an issue the other day where SMS's wouldn't send, with the error 'No sim selected for SMS' or something like that. A reboot sorted it, though. (This is on a DUGL model)
Bump
Anyone... I mean anyone have a solution?
I'm thinking of doing the RUU as another member suggested however I'm kinda nervous about it. Both htc and Verizon keep blaming each other. Honestly it's really frustrating. I woild love to the the u12 but I just got the u11 and it works great... Outside of this issue.
Anyone have any roms that work maybe? Maybe I need to root the device?

I switched to a pixel 2 XL. Everything works as it should. It's kind of nice. Still have the U11 though.

Check your APN settings just to make sure everything is straight. The incorrect APN can screw things up. If you have another Verizon phone, compare the APN setup.

I can't change my apn... I've tried but it looks good
You have to be rooted to change the APN because you have to add 2 lines to the build.prop to allow an app like APN Settings to add a new APN. I have the same problem. My APN was slightly different from my wife's. And still you can't change an existing APN only add a new one and delete the old one. I've tried it all. I'll save you the trouble and tell you that didn't fix the problem. I have talked to Verizon and it shows on their end that I'm receiving the MMS message but it never shows in Android Messages just says it expired. If I push and hold on the it has expired message it shows received info. Did find a forum where people with the first Pixel phone were having the same troubles. Google released an OTA for that phone to fix the bug in Oreo but only in that phone. I can only think that this phone has the exact same bug, just my problem only presented itself a month after upgrading to Oreo. I have noticed if I open Android Messages and leave it running in the background and then use Verizon Messages+ to send myself a picture message (never had a problem with mMS on Messages+) and go to the recently opened apps list and select Android Messages the picture shows up no problem. But as soon as I make Android Messages the default messaging app I no longer get MMS messages.

I noticed after my update to Oreothe problem seemed to have happenedas well but in March. Same issued with using message+ or stock MMA receiving MS's just fineand showing in textra but Textra as default app I get errors. I literally just rolled back my u11 to Android 2.42.617.1 from 2.42.617.6 and made some progress...i can use gosmsjust finebut textraand android message is a no go. Tomorrow I'm going to see if I can get a new SIM card activated on a vzw branded phone and try that. If that doesn't dork I'll roll back to Android 7 and try the sim thing again.im just so tired of using stock MMA and vzw message+ doesn't like my vpn...i have to either turn vpn off or switch default SMS to stock jn order to receive mms

March is exactly when my MMS stopped working. I went to a Verizon store where I know a guy that works there. I asked him if he could make sure my advanced calling features were activated on there end. He did something and said you're all set and gave me a new SIM. I activated it in my wife's old phone that had working advanced calling and mms messages. It didn't fix my problem, but there is a guy on here that swears by that fixng the problem. I have also seen where people have called Verizon and had them turn off their CDMA provisioning and that helped. I haven't tried that yet. I've basically have said F it, and I downloaded the top 10 messaging apps for 2018. I found one that works that I like called QKSMS. not real flashy but it's a newer app and he is still adding features as he can.

I've done the SIM card thing before and it has fixed my problem untill I updated the system. Since then I've been in mms hell. So, I'm going to try what worked once before and might give vzw a call about the CDMA provisioning again. I will get textra again... One way or another

The guy did say after he got the problem fixed, if he did any flashing or updating to the phone he pulled the SIM out and didn't put it back in until completely finished and he hasn't had the problem since. If you do find your solution please let me know. I have spent hours trying everything. If yours stopped working in March like mine, May I ask when you got your phone?

I will definitely try to keep this thread updated. I have spent hours as well to get things working and countless factory resets. I did notice that my apn settings don't have a MMSC which is suppose to be http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms as well as a mms port 80...so maybe the new Sim will correct that cause I can't
But as a recap so far I RUU back from 2.42.617.6 to 2.42.617.1, my next stop is new SIM with all goodies activated and ensure CDMA provision is off

Alright thanks. I've also ruued back to 2.42.617.1 and all the jazz. I am able to add new apns and manually put in the mmsc and port number. That never helped. My dad's Pixel 2 doesn't have a MMSC or port number but my wife's Moto G6 does.

I find that interesting... I'm surprised that mms is such an issues, carrier, os, or even manufacturer cause it's basic phone function since mid to late 200s!?
I so frustrated

What really blows my mind is why some apps work and some don't. I was digging around the database for message storage. I noticed when the message went through I would get one field that said something like vdn.wap.mms. if the message was never received it would show like http://random IP address/ servlets/MMS and at the very end would be msg_id=? It would also show in the pending field of the database.
