Chainfire3D Bootloop Problem? - Sony Xperia M2

Hello all. Recently I installed Chainfire3D and tried to install whatever was needed before the plugins. My Sony Xperia M2 (D2306, Android 4.4.4, rooted with the latest KingRoot) was caught in a bootloop after I tried the installation.
There is this thread here <http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2362873> that tells me how to fix it. My current problem with this is that this device doesn't have a stock recovery move to follow the tutorial, or so I've found.
I could use flashtool and restore I think, but it is unavailable to me for the next few days.
Any help would be appreciated, and please let me know if I'm missing any important details. I'm no expert in the root department, but I'm sure I'm not a noob.
Thanks

Flash whole firmware again is the best and easy solution.
Chainfire3D is outdated, next time i recomend you to try GLTools, i use here and it's working fine.

[Q] St23i / root / FOTA / help!

Hi my first post, i was brought here from sony web site FOTA issues.
i don't know if this can be resolved and i have briefly looked around here for a specific answer so please excuse me if i have missed a thread about this issue or placed this tread in the wrong section.
I am using Sony Xperia Miro St23i android v 4.0.4 build 11.0.A.5.5
I previously rooted my phone and everything was good until i updated via the Sony update service.
my rooted applications no longer worked, i tried to un-root and root it but it is neither here not there!
I have reset to factory settings, root checkers say i have no root, but when i come to re-root it says am i rooted? see attachment:
I would like to root my phone again any push in the right direction would be of great help.
again i apologise if this has been previously answered.
kind regards
Dannyb7453
Try installing super user from play store, it gives applications root access ( if you have)
Sent from my ST27i
re
tried that just says am not rooted, its like am stuck in limbo neither rooted or not rooted
id like to take my phone back to stock and start again, ive tried a few flash stock programs from here
am not having much luck tho :-0(

have you tried flashing ftf with flash tool or repair phone feature in pc companion that should completely reset your phone
re
Hi thanks for posting,
i've installed the 4.0.4 - 11.0.A.2.10 and put it in the firmware folder
* installed the drivers for flashmode and fastboot mode:
* i tried repair mode but that still left me in 4.0.4 - 11.0.A.5.5 am i right in thinking you cant root 5.5 for xperia miro St23i?
* i did have it rooted in 11.0.A.2.10 but once i updated in pc companion root was lost.
^ am i missing something here?
re
so the St23i driver is missing lolz any one know where i can find it?

[Q] How safe is it for me to root (within reason)

firstly.... good evening to all,ive been a casual observer of xda for a few years now and have chosen to sign up for a niggling qiestion! i have n Sony Xperia E (c1505) single sim and just wondering how safe(ish) is frammaroot and which version is the best to use? my device is as follows:
model number c1505
android version 4.1.1
baseband 76xxu-usnskolym-2540
kernel version 3.4.0-perf
build number 11.3A.0.59
at the moment its telling me an update is ready which will make the build number up to 11.3.A.2.23...
i dont wish to update yet if i can get away with using frammaroot, also im sure i read somewhere that the update will erase root access (will cross that bridge when i come to it) ive flashed roms before so not really interested in that side of things, mainly just adblocking and removing some of the google junk!! i have done a search on here but with so many threads relating to it i hope this is just a simple question although a long post!!
you can use cydia impactor to root it after you update
link to it: http://www.cydiaimpactor.com/
if it doesn't work for you, you can also flash the old 11.3A.0.59 kernel with flashtool, root it with framaroot apk and then flash the 11.3.A.2.23 kernel again.
both methods are pretty safe if you follow instructions and even if something goes wrong (again, pretty impossible) you can just fix the phone with Sony pc companion.
here's a small guide by another member on how to do the kernel flashings with flashtool and root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2409525

Rooting is very safe. Even if you mess up and the phone is unbootable, Sony PC Companion will 1-Click restore your phone to a working state. There is always the change of hardware-breaking your phone but you have more chance of winning the lottery.
You can also easily un-root using the same tool so any problems found after rooting can easily be rectified. Another benefit of rooting is the ability to install a recovery manager (I recommend CWM) which will allow you to fix most problems with the device if something goes wrong at a later stage. (You can also install a custom ROM but thats a whole other discussion)
If you would like some more information then send me a PM or leave a reply.
If I helped then please leave me a "thanks"

thanks but i dont want to have to pay for it!
Pay? You don't need the pro version, There is a free version, you could also Try DoomLord's version or SUper One Click. Just remember Rooting is by your own liking if your phone gets bricked don't put the finger at me

[Q] Help regarding complete rooting process

Okay, first of all, I'd like to say that Sony sucks big time, since they didn't provide an official update for a beauty such as Xperia L. It's been almost 1.5 years since I brought my Xperia, and having voided the warranty already, I'd like to root the phone and flash a custom ROM and Kernel.
Here's the problem, though. I don't know the exact steps to do so. According to my knowledge, you have to:
Root Phone
Unlock Bootloader
Flash Kernel
Flash ROM
Another set of specifics I'd like to add -
The ROM I want - CM12 by Varun Chitre (That guy's a genius!)
The Kernel I want - ThunderZap (Again, by Varun Chitre)
Can anyone please tell me the steps I need to follow in order to flash the items specified above safely onto my phone? I'm really confused, because everyone seems to have their own app/software/method to do so.
Also, I did try rooting my phone by downloading the RootKit for Xperia L. However, when I open the SuperSU app (I've updated the app too), it says: "There is no SU binary installed, and SuperSU cannot install it. This is a problem!". After encountering this error, I backed off! Can someone please, please explain the proper steps to do it? Links will also be infinitely helpful!

Hello fellow android users. I would like some help with rooting my phone. My phone is an Xperia L C2105

Hello thank you. I have rooted the phone. How would I unlock the Bootloader? I have tried multiple ways from the forum posts but I can't seem to do it. I have tried following each step and just can't do it. Is there any video which shows how or a post which shows every single step? If someone could show me how to do it once then I will know how to everytime. At the moment it looks all complicated and not sure if I have messed my phone up.
I'll help you if you want! https://www.facebook.com/iasashvili Get flashtool, all neccesary drivers, get unlock code from sony.... Go to fastboot mode and tick on Unlock Bootloader mark... Than paste the code and reboot. If you get bootloop,it's normal, just flash stock ftf from flashtool. In case of problems, pm me on facebook

update rooted device

hello guys
I have a Sony Xperia Z3 (D6633) (android 5.1.1) and it's rooted.
so recently I wanted to update my phone and after I downloaded the update from the official software update app and tried to install it my phone restarted and then a notification showed that the installation wasn't successful.
so I searched and found out that it was because of the root, but I wasn't able to unroot. by the way, I rooted my phone with kingroot app. I deleted the kingroot app and then installed super su but I got su binary occupied error that I wasn't able to solve.
now I'm here asking for help to update my phone.
I also found an article about flashfire so I wanted to know that is it safe to use it. is it possible to lose data?
by the way, I know before doing anything I should do a backup so do you guys know a good way to do a backup? (I can't use the official software for pc)
I just wanted to add that I don't have that much knowledge about this stuff so it will be a big help if you explain things a little bit more.
try this thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/recovery-root-mm-575-291-lb-t3435214
Excuse me but I can't seem to find the solution there. Can you explain a little bit more?
Is there anyone that can help?
