Right so i have this samsung galaxy tab 2 and the problem is that when i hold the power button it does nothing at all. When i press the power button and volume down, it brings me into odin mode. I have tried to get cwm and get cyanogen mod or something. What can i do? Thanks in advance!

You only have two options Volume down or up. Volume down +power works for my 7 inch Tab2

i have issue for my galaxy tab 2 gt-p3100 ... before i have update kernel script but after i reboot the tab i have some problem

#2. and i can't turn on my tab ...
please all give me solution ... i don't know how if i lose my tab ...
Have you installed clockworkmod recovery ?
press & hold power + volume up to enter recovery mode (release after galaxy tab 2 logo appear), or
press & hold power + volume down to enter download mode.
If you cannot power your device on at all and you have no signs of life then you need to send it in for repair.

@Rotundjere my tab wont turn on
When i charge it only coming icon and not possible to charge. When i plug to the pc its only coming windows notification sound plug and unplug sound. No recognation.

I have the Galaxy S duos which has problems with connecting to data for both sims. I am trying to flash a later formware in the hope that it is more stable. I have the firmware, kies, odin and drivers.
The problem is that the phone will NOT go into download mode. When I press and hold the vol down/menu/power buttons I go into a Factory mode instead of download mode - the following options are available in this mode:
Full Test
Item Test
Test Report
Clear eMMC
Reboot
When I press and hold the vol down/power buttons I go into Recovery
Is there anything I can do to get into download mode??

i face the same problem . . . it connected to chinese box , it was a high copy phone

just press and hold volume down+home+power at a time
and when device vibrate just leave all keys
then download mode will appear then just click on volume up
but its important to leave all key when device vibrate

I have the same problem with my phone , but when I checked the IMEI of the phone by site imei.info, I saw that the phone is a copy ...
Step 1 – Turn OFF your Galaxy S Duos.
Step 2 – Make sure your phone is unplugged from the USB cable.
Step 3 – Now press the following keys on your phone: Volume Up + Home + Power.
Hope this helps......bcz it works for me and all other, and might not work in some cases like......Replica version etc
its not original its china high copy if you choose lear emmc it will be format try it if its dont work with you search for a firmware to youre mobile .......

I already tried the power and vol down button together, the only thing that happens is the samsung logo comes on again and again in an endless loop. Please someone tell me they know another way to get this to work. Thanks in advance.

Do you release the buttons immediately the logo appears or keep holding them? One should release the buttons the minute one sees the Samsung logo.
Download mode is volume up and power. Should boot right away into it, unlike recovery which requires you to keep holding volume down after it starts booting.

Volume DOWN: DOWNload mode
Volume UP: Recovery (UPdate.zip)
On the 10.1 inch tab2, volume down is closest to power and volume up is farthest away from power.

Unfortunately the Chainfire thread is wrong.

I had one. To go from power off to download mode, hold in power and the button closest to the power button, which on the 10.1 inch tab is volume down. It is also volume down on the 7 inch tab, but its volume buttons are opposite the 10 inch.
Seriously? Dude, just why? I'm over it. No hard feelings. I'll just ignore from now on.
Maybe different variants use different button combos or something? Maybe I remember wrong or Chainfires thread is wrong. Who knows.

I've encountered a problem with my Samsung galaxy tab 2. model name is gt p3100. I currently have a message displaying on my tab saying ' Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again. '
I've tried doing power button, power + volume up button and power + volume down button.. but the same message is displayed every time. And I'm not able to turn it on.
I've downloaded the appropriate Kies software and downloaded the drivers but it doesn't connect to the tablet. saying you should try rebooting the device. Since power + volume up button is not working, I won't be able to reboot or do anything with my tablet.
Any kind of help is appreciated.
