Trouble transfering some mp4 videos, but not all. Weird. - General Questions and Answers

I've got a rooted Galaxy S5, SM-G900A. I'm on kitkat, but I used sd fix and it tells me my sd is fixed. Well, heres my problem. I use es file explorer, and I have no trouble transfering photos or other documents, including both apk and exe files from the internal storage to the sd card. But some mp4 videos do not transfer correctly. Some will no longer play after the transfer, others will only play part of the video before getting the message "cannot play this video". Like I said, it is only some mp4's. Ive tried using a computer to do the swap, and even rom toolbox pro. Still the same. On occasion a vid that was transfered but stops playing near the end, after trying again, it just doesn't play. The sd seems to be working great. I was able to transfer apps using app2sd, and they work great also. Has anyone had this odd problem, or know how to fix it. The videos on the sd play all the way through. And the videos that won't transfer play great from the internal storage. So, who here is a genius. I need your help. Thanks in advance.

[Q] Playing video from SDcard2..

I have several videos on my external SD card and can open and see them with Gallery>Stock Player, but not anything else. The stock player plays the vids, but because of the format they play choppy. I tried using Rockplayer free to play them but each time I tried it said it could not open the file. This was done using Gallery and selecting default app to play vids. On Rockplayer itself, it does not detect the external SD card or the external media.
Anyone figure a way around this? Or is this still a work in progress?
Go into options on Rockplayer and change the root directory to "/" or "/mnt". Then you will find "..", select it and work you way over to sdcard2. Also set the option to show all files, not just media. Rockplayer will play more than it would suggest by what it shows.

[Q] Problems with microSD

Hey guys,
I had a problem with my phone in the time before I sent it back to Motorola. It was a 16GB SanDisk microSDHC and everything worked fine except the MP3.
A few of my MP3´s were detected by the phone, but that was maybe a third of all my music.
What should I do? I copied the Mp3´s from my iTunes-Library.
Greets
are those files signed with DRM ?
try other MP3 files
run the media scan again
in android market look for rescan media app, it lets you on/off and force media scan refresh
also make sure the folders where you have MP3 store does not contain a .nomedia file in it

[Q]movies, music, sd card's

hi guys! i have a few issues regarding my GTab 7.0 plus P6200 ver.
i just bought it yesterday + a 32gb class 4 sd card. i installed Samsung Kies and then my pc detected my GTab. I opened the sd card folder and started copying movies and music and the copying is succesfull to the SD CARD. I also copied photos to the GTab's internal memory and it went well..
heres the problem, when i open my GTab default GALLERY application i cant see the pictures i put to the internal memory. also i opened the default video and music player and i cant see also the video and music's i put on the SD card. BUT, i can see the pictures, videos and listen to the musics using the MY FILES application.
Take note that this is out-of-the-box unit, never been rooted.
What maybe the problem is?
i just use the traditional copy-paste method in transferring the files BUT with the SAMSUNG SKIES installed.

[Q] ICS Media Storage deleted all media

I was having a problem with my SD Card showing duplicated (and triplicated) content when connected via USB, then I read that I could clean the Media Storage, and that it would look for the files again.
I did it, and now all image files are gone, from the entire SD Card and Internal Storage. Anything with file extensions as .gif, .jpg and .png are gone.
Also, almost all movie files are also gone, and interestingly, most of them were MKV files, that aren't natively readable. Flv files were intact, but mp4 are gone.
MP3 files are intact too, so no music was lost.
I waited for the media storage to get everything done, and from the 32MB before the clean, it's now 16MB. I used Media Scanner to force it search more, but with no luck, it finishes and doesn't change anything.
I'm not all that interested to recover it, after all, I had copies for most of the content on my PC, and the only pictures that will be a pain to recover will be the ones I got with the browser (Maybe I can even look at the history to find them, I'll try it later.).
Even so, is there any way to recover it? Why does it happen?
In case someone could help me, my Xoom is rooted, and Stock ICS 4.0.4, so I think I can do anything asked. Thanks.

trouble sorting video issue

I have a stock rom rooted GT P5113 running 4.0.4. I am getting ready to go on vacation and want to load some of my movies on it for the 4 hour plane ride. I am having trouble getting videos to load. Most of my movies are M4V and I know it wont play those. I do have some that are .mp4 format, so i tried loading one of those on my external sd card. my card is the sandisk sdxc64GB class 10 formatted fat32 and its recognized by both the tab and my laptop when i plug my tab in.
When I try to load one of my .mp4 movies it gets about 99% done and says that the format is not supported and it gives me 2 options to skip the file or cancel the install... WTF is going on here? I only have a week to sort this out. I HATE THIS ITUNES BS. why are they allowed to format the movies that I buy in their proprietary format with their proprietary DRM so i can only load MY movies and shows on a Crapple device? This is why I got rid of ALL of my Apple devices. They need to be rained in some.
Check the size of that mp4 file.
If it is more than 4 GB then it cannot be transferred to that card since it is formatted in fat32.

For size is only in the 700mb range...What if I put the sdcard in my laptop transferred the files and then put it back in my tab?

Install mx player from market. I think it should play those m4v files.

Te issue wasnt playing the M4V videos... i didnt know if it would or not, i couldnt even get them on the tab... kept giving me an error and canceling the transfer.
UPDATE: I have this issue resolved, KIND OF.
I still cant add the videos with the usb cable from my computer, but i did get a M4V video on the sdxc card by unmounting and removing it from the tab, putting it into my laptop, transferring a movie and putting the card back in the tab and mounting it. I did use MX payer and it does in fact play M4V videos just fine.
hoep this helps someone else that is having this issue.
