There's a dead spot in my screen - T-Mobile LG G2

Hey guys, idk of this has happened to anyone else but there's a dead zone on my screen (pic describes where) what would I need to replace? Just the digitizer or the assembly as a whole

I have the exact same problem. What app did you use to get your screen shot?
I'll post my outcome using the same method.
Doc

I had the same problem with my AT&T G2. I made this little video easy fix. Use a crystal piezo ignitor from a bic lighter. It somehow zaps the screen dead zone back to life, no random ghost touches either. I made this stupid video after the fact, but the pics explain the procedure.

I fear my Uni won't rotate anymore soon

I'm using my HTC Universal since 2 years ago and it was already secondhand.
Does anyone know how to repair or reset the status of the part that makes it rotate? (sorry if I'm not understandable )
Thank you in advance,
Regards.
Sorry, you were not clear enough. What are you trying to achieve?
Do you mean the hinge part is broken and the LCD cannot be rotated? In which case hinge will need to be replaced, but they are difficult to find, sometimes they sell on eBay or you can purchase parts off someone selling his broken machine for parts, then use a Service Manual for disassembly instructions.
If you mean the screen orientation does not change when you rotate the screen, then you need to open the LCD side and check for a small magnet next to a screen, as it is the part responsible for rotation. However, sometimes the problem like that can be caused by software, so you need to be sure which one it is.
Thanks for your exhaustive reply! Yes, it's an hardware problem. I want not to be in condition of not rotating the display, so I'm looking for a solution for the hinge. Something I can do on my own.
What is exactly wrong with your hinge? How is it broken? Pictures would be helpful.

That shows me the connector strap....but all is not lost.
I opened mine.
There's two small screws up top on either corner.
Two just below the battery pocket on either side and two on the bottom corners.
It looks like there may be a hidden one in the battery pocket, next to the contact terminals, under a round dot sticker.
They look like they may be #4 Torx head .. just a guess.
Get those out [remember their positions] and it should be fairly easy.

take it back to the shop and get it fixed?
If you lived in the Oklahoma City area I'd say bring it in to my shop & I'd get you all fixed up(I'm a phone/computer/game console repair tech) but I dunno what area you're in, so... Replacing screens is generally pretty easy but I REALLY recommend you take it to a phone shop if you don't know how to do it. These phones are extremely delicate & you could break it VERY easily with one wrong move. But if you insist on doing it yourself, this should hopefully help you out some with getting it apart- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WG7gt1EnN3w It's kind of fast & ****ty, but it's the only teardown vid I could find.
FYI- digitizers are stuck on with special double-stick adhesive that holds it in place over the LCD, so make sure the one you bought came with a new piece of adhesive because you can't reuse the old one(unless you're VERY careful) & the screen won't stay on w/o it. You'll wanna use a heat gun on a low setting or a hot hairdryer to get the old digitizer off too. And of course, be mindful of dust.
I just did exactly this repair and took some footage while doing it. Excuse the crappy voiceover.
On youtube.com go to watch?v=T5bWl73O9ss Or just search for HTC Sensation Screen Repair
Apparently my old account was disabled so I had to sign up again. Now I can't post a single URL. Hope someone else can make that linkable.

if you've never done that before, I suggest (as I do to all my customers to save pain and money) find someone with knowhow, and kindly ask to look over their shoulder. this has worked for me on many many occasions. I know know how to windshield chip repair for one (although completely unrelated)

[Q][HELP] XT720 Screen Replacement?

Hi, i have an motorola xt720 and i bought a replacement screen so that i can replace the cracked touch screen. My question is, are there any videos around or if anyone is planning on doing it themselves can they take a video of replacing the screen. [Q] Broken screen

Hi,
A friend of mine dropped his miro and it cracked the screen. He bought another phone and gave me the broken one.
The phone works fine, it's just the cracked glass as you can see in the pics. I'm planning to use it for dev, but if i can get the screen fixed even better.

Try to turn the phone on, see if the screen still shows, behind the cracked screen, check if there are no dead pixels, if not, than you can use that part to replace indeed. But you will need to warm the screen, else it won't come loose.

The screen shows fine, and I didnt see any dead pixels. Do you have any link showing how to warm it properly?
Thank you
Honestly, no, I had a broken screen before on my Tipo but I brought it to some Service point, not an official Sony one. But I know you COULD use a hairdryer, and you should mostly warm the edges. Not TOO warm though because that can cause screen damage also.
It's kinda tricky to find out how. And theres no dissamble video or instructions for these phones yet... so...
EDIT: I could figure it would look something like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BqypUFCL3Ak
But I'm not sure. You'll probably also need Torx screwdrivers.
Edit 2:
Theres some guides now, but it doesn't show anything about the screen itself.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36OQfj3eFcw for Miro
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nz79YQukiyE for Tipo Dual, (I think Tipo Single is 97% the same).
Here how to replace lcd and touch... anyway replace touch also is very easy just heat some and you can easy remove.
Dont forget take tape black from older digitizer and put in new one because when you press touch makes like water bubble.

Horizontal lines on Display

Hi, I recently bought an HTC U11 , it's been 10 days and i am facing an issue with the display. Horizontal lines appear when i touch the screen a lot in a short period of time. I am attaching a couple of pictures for reference. It look worse to the naked eye. Is any one else face this issue?
Thanks in advance.
I've had mine for a month and seen this happen three times now, I think. I'll try to get some photos next time. I have no idea what causes it. What do you mean by "touch the screen a lot in a short period of time"?
Mine did this too like 3 times.
I think I noticed it happen after wiping the screen with a cloth ( has got to do with pressure and the attachment of the digitizer with the screen I guess ).
It goes away with some fiddling around, I can RMA it, but I don't want to send it out.
Don't know what to do

Like swiping the screen repeatedly in a short period of time.
hey guys, what did you do - i have the same problem after 4 months of use .. never fell down!
same problem here but doesnt bother me , strange to see
I have (unfortunately) grown used to it. I can confirm it's due to rubbing the screen, but I don't need a cloth for it to show up; mine happens from my fingers. It's easily reproducible by quickly and repeatedly swiping upwards on a section of screen. Slowly swiping downwards on an affected section can then remove it.
Here's a photo of the effect across the whole screen. It is much more noticeable than it appears in the image.
I has the same issue too, I talked with the tech support, they said it seems to be a hardware issue and I should send it back for repair.

Interesting that they think it can be repaired. Do let us know how it goes
Reparied
I sent to repair for 2 times. Second I sent picture and video of the problem directly to the repair place, and they changed the LCD panel, and the problem has disappeared. So far so good.

I just notice that this seems affected by humidity. I just tried to exhale and put some moist in the unit screen then rub again while moist and the line disappear (this is during the line is visible). It feels like the coating reacts on the friction. That's what I think of. By the way I'm not using screen protector right now. If its working with screen protector put on, please let me know.
